1761  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America Beyond Capitalism on: January 14, 2012, 06:30:37 AM
As much as I resent our current political and economic system, I dont see  "Somalia-style" libertarianism as a viable alternative, let alone neo-communist state socialism, so Im intigued about learning about alternatives. Ive always been a fan of Noam Chomsky, I think this guy is thinking in the same direction:

I am against the capitalism.

Me and a lots of friends, are about to build a experimental city, without any kind of money.

An off-the-grid-city, no electricity bills to anybody... Free food, free bricks, free internet, free water, free vestment, free cars, free robots, no competition but instead, cooperation.

No food bill.
No water bill.
No banks.
No politicans.
No Bitcoins.
Entirely based on open source tools/machinery/hardware/software/medications/food-production-supply/etc...

At first, we will use Bitcoins as a tool make the transition from a capitalistic society to a society with a economy based on resources.

We must end the FED and all world's banks.
We must change the government forever.
So, a new society will born...
The land for the city is almost at our hands.

Best!

1770  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMiner - restricting clock settings by time (time-based clock setting) on: January 13, 2012, 02:43:45 AM
Unless I'm missing something it doesn't look like cgminer does what OP wants.  There's a --sched-start and --sched-stop switch for turning mining on/off.  But not throttling the clock speed based on time.

I'd like to change the intensity based on time of day myself.  For instance when I'm not on the computer at night and while at work I'd like the intensity to be high, but low otherwise.
I see no problem changing intensity when you are going to bed or sleeping. It is fairly easy to do via [G]->->Enter GPU->Enter intensity

I prefer all automatic... Lots of mining rigs to control...

I'll workaround with cron jobs...

But, if someone wants to automatize this routines at CGMiner, lets discuss about it!

Best!

CGminer already has this built in. Look at cgminer --help

LOL

I'll check it!!!

Thanks!!
1772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Request for an Scrypt capable fork of cgminer - maybe within new CGMiner / RPC on: January 12, 2012, 10:02:51 PM
I agree with you!! Not hate... Sorry...
I'll never talk about Scrypt in CGMiner again... Gotcha!!  ^_^
Ckolivas wants to drop CPU support from CGMiner... I'm fine with that... Finally... lol
Nevertheless, I think that even if we don't believe in some alt-coin, why not help who believes?
People can even pay, with any cryptocurrency, for the job...
1773  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / CGMiner - restricting clock settings by time (time-based clock setting) on: January 12, 2012, 09:14:12 PM
 Hi!

I would like to setup the hardware settings, according to the daytime, similar to Squid time-based ACLs (Restricting Web Access By Time)... For example:

For each GPU (or maybe for the entire minig rig):

 gpu0-uuid off 07:00-18:30
 gpu0-uuid gpu-clock 500-900 18:30-07:00

 gpu1-uuid off 07:00-18:30
 gpu1-uuid gpu-clock 500-900 18:30-07:00

 gpu2-uuid gpu-clock 500-900 18:30-07:00
 gpu2-uuid gpu-clock 500-930 07:00-18:30

Trying to simplify, turn off the mining rig 07:00-18:30 and turn it on 18:30-07:00 at full load.

I can do it from crontab, of course, but, I think it can be awesome to have this feature within CGMiner...

 What about that?!

 5~10 Bitcoins?!

Cheers!

If you will kill to eat, please do not cause any pain to the animal.
And if paying with Bitcoins ... EVEN BETTER!
1776  Economy / Marketplace / Re: More info on organic beef and pork for Bitcoin on: January 12, 2012, 05:49:18 PM
Please... Do not kill/eat animals!!!
BE A VEGETARIAN!!!  ^_^
It is much better for your health, for the environment and for the animals itself.
Cheers!

1778  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER - Remove CPU mining? on: January 12, 2012, 07:49:49 AM
I know ckolivas don't like Litecoin but, change the CPU-mining to Scrypt and let me ask to pooler if he can port his assembly cpuminer and maintain that portion of cgminer.

I don't know exactly why but, I believe in CPU-coins too... It can bring much more people to CryptoCurrencies... Right?!

CGminer RULEZ!!! It is the best Bitcoin miner out there!!

Thank you ckolivas for your time and hard work!!

Best,
Thiago

@pooler!

Don't you wanna do the following job:

Request for an Scrypt capable fork of cgminer - maybe within new CGMiner / RPC:

Thanks!!

1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer - LTC/FBX/TBX on: January 12, 2012, 07:17:54 AM
New version!
The changes only affect 64-bit systems; they should bring an up to 8% speed increase to Intel processors, and a 20% increase to CPUs of the AMD K10 family.

Binary for 64-bit Windows (courtesy of diki):
https://github.com/downloads/pooler/cpuminer/pooler-cpuminer-win64-20120111.zip
A binary for 64-bit Mac OS X will be available soon.

As always, all benchmarks are welcome.
In particular, I suspect that this version might actually be slower on Pentium D's... Can anybody confirm or deny this?

WOW!

 From 3.04 to 5.23 @ Phenom X6!

All my machines are Ubuntu 11.04 64 bits.

 I have only two intels...

Thanks a lot!!
Best!
