2001  Economy / Speculation / Fake top on: April 12, 2013, 11:05:26 AM
World controller types who hold power by control of central banking and fiat money would almost certainly want bitcoin to decline or disappear entirely. What if someone, I don’t know, like George Soros, or perhaps someone acting on behalf of central banks, decided to pump up bitcoins deliberately by overbuying it, only to massively sell into the first opportune sign of weakness. It wouldn’t be that hard to do. They might be able to successfully paint a fake top into the market. Result, killed enthusiasm, and a promising bull run, nipped in the bud.

Could this be a fake top in bitcoins?

I very much doubt they can yet manipulate the bitcoin market with the same precision that they can do the gold and silver markets, because they don’t have futures contracts, ETFs and naked shorting to fine tune the downside. However  those world controllers still have manipulation of perception via the media, and limitless fiat. In a small market like bitcoin, you’d hardly need that much fiat to move it up like that. Easy in fact if one had the sort of funds of someone like George Sorros or someone acting on behalf of a central bank.

2002  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a coordinated attack? on: April 12, 2013, 10:32:55 AM
I'm convinced the world controllers will be or already are attacking bitcoin.

I think they've used market manipulation to paint a fake top. Have written about it here.

Its not yet clear that the bull run is over. I can forsee you buying back in soon enough.

translation:

"perhaps my pipi isn't really that small and i'm actually well hung"

ok that was my last one to learn it off bb

Would be the other way round wouldn't it? "Perhaps my pipi isn't really as big as I thought"
2005  Economy / Speculation / Re: Perhaps the crash was only a correction on: April 12, 2013, 09:41:10 AM
moment we hit the top of the steep channel we were in

Roll Eyes

Because you made the steep channel x width to accommodate for the peak.

I'll see you all at $15/btc in about 2 months.

I drew in a parallel to the channel equal distance under the old channel out of curiosity to see if there might have been support there. It doesn't have much significance, just testing ideas.

I'm looking for support near the bottom of the previous channel at the moment, or failing that then the original channel. If we can stay above that, then the bull run still looks intact.
2006  Economy / Speculation / Re: Perhaps the crash was only a correction on: April 12, 2013, 09:37:57 AM
if it goes up (and over previous high somewhen in not too far future) from here you may call it so ...  Wink

Time will tell. If it is then this is a darn good moment to pick up some cheap bitcoins. Smiley
2007  Economy / Speculation / Perhaps the crash was only a correction on: April 12, 2013, 09:32:17 AM
Doesn't look quite so bad on a 3 month log chart

The red arrow indicates the peak of course, but also the moment we hit the top of the steep channel we were in.
2008  Economy / Speculation / Re: get out your tin foil hats on: April 11, 2013, 11:03:25 PM
if we were just dealing with run of the mill hackers (like we were with ddos' in the past) i would expect them to be very careful not to kill their cash cow (like they were in the past, they never went overboard). Previously all attacks were at highs, presumably in an attempt to crash the price and buy in lower. All attacks were promptly halted after the price fell.  Now someone is attacking at lows, this is new and not in the interest of someone who is attempting to manipulate the market for profit. This would however be in the interest of someone who sells a currency that competes with bitcoin.

Smells awfully fishy to me. Are we finally seeing TPTB reacting to bitcoin?

What do you guys think?

I agree with you, something fishy about it. My spider senses are tingling.
2009  Economy / Speculation / Re: First signs of exhaustion of current trend on: April 11, 2013, 07:36:34 AM
How does one predict the trend of some millionaire in China picking up a newspaper and reading about Bitcoin for the first time and having it "click"?

Same thing in any other part of the world.

There is nothing to predict when someone with a lot of money may start moving money today or wait until returning from a business trip next week.

Funny how the prediction came true though. Maybe you put too much emphasis on black swan events moving the market rather than statistical behaviour patterns

2011  Economy / Speculation / Re: 200$ Wheres the next resistance? on: April 11, 2013, 07:31:45 AM
Well there was no resistance at $200, so what you extrapolated from the graph was effectively useless. Why repeat the exercise?

A ~$500k USD buy annihilated the $200 wall. Yes, there was resistance. However, resistance was futile.

There must be some big buyers entering the game, wonder who they are? Do you think someone eg the FED may buy up a whole load of bitcoins to ramp the price up. Then sell really quickly to try and cause crash?

Who knows. By those standards I'd be a "big buyer." And since I'm definitely not... who knows. I highly, highly doubt anybody with the necessary resources would be using them to seesaw the price.

They might hope to seesaw the price to persuade people its too volatile to be serious as a currency. If I was the PTB I'd be trying to control it first before trying to clamp down on it. Clamping down would be last resort.

2014  Economy / Speculation / Re: Palladium parity on: April 10, 2013, 03:27:37 PM
Didn't look at any charts are anything to make my guess but I reckon this current bull run might run out of juice before that price. I do think longer term bitcoin may overtake palladium and maybe even 1oz gold. Perhaps in the 3rd great bitcoin bubble of 2015
2015  Economy / Speculation / Re: First signs of exhaustion of current trend on: April 10, 2013, 03:22:46 PM
Divergency between last price action vs MAC-D indicator.

If price breaks below 240 may confirm reversal or trend or beginning of a correction.

Otherwise, be aware of a double-top at the 266 level, which could confirm exhaustion of current trend.

Thanks for your analysis Smiley I also came to the conclusion a correction is on the way based on resistance at a long term trend line.

Found it very hard to be accurate in the price prediction due to the log scale and the shortage of data points but I think the idea has some validity.
2016  Economy / Speculation / Re: Need Help, Want to Buy More on: April 09, 2013, 10:51:25 PM
i'm expecting a correction, there appears to be a long term trend line stretching back to before the last bull mania which might provide some resistance. Or it might not.. what do i know i'm just another guy on the internet telling you to do stuff  Cheesy

If it was me, i'd maybe start by using about half the fund to buy bitcoins then shortly after buy the rest, but I'm quite an impatient guy and once i've made my mind up about somethign don't like waiting around. Even if there is a pullback or even this bull market peaks then crashes, so what? I think bitcoins in the long term will end up a lot higher than today's prices, if you buy at the wrong time that just means you have to hold for longer.
2017  Economy / Speculation / Re: So when is it going to blow? on: April 09, 2013, 01:28:17 PM
Correction coming fairly soon I think. We're close to a line of resistance on a same trend that goes back to the 2011 bubble.
2018  Economy / Speculation / Re: Admit it. Did you sell at $200 to wait for the retrace? on: April 09, 2013, 12:39:25 PM
I have a core holding that I won't sell for a long time. However I do have some reserved for speculative trades. i did sell a little bit, and will probably sell a little more in the near future. I'm thinking a correction is due soon.

From my blog

I noticed quite a while ago what looked like a resistance level somewhere near $200 ish.. Here it is again on the ‘all data’ log chart.

Very hard to judge on these log scales what prices are but as you can see the green increasing price is at this very moment approaching the same trend line which produced resistance twice during the 2011 mania ...

Well there was no resistance at $200, so what you extrapolated from the graph was effectively useless. Why repeat the exercise?

How else could he plug his blog?

Don't know why I bother its received no donations so far Sad you could be the first if you want
