1581  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the price of bitcoin when it has almost reached everyone as fiat? on: May 14, 2015, 12:34:23 PM
Bitcoin will function just as optional payment/investment option. It won't replace or come even close to fiat currency. Bitcoin is unique in its own way.

Store of value ?
1582  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the Bear Trend on: May 14, 2015, 08:52:14 AM
Well this is what happens when so many people play derivative markets with high leverage.  The futures market had massive volume today.

80000 Bitcoin worth of volume.  So they could have longed at the bottom to hedge and they would've made money.  And they would have closed shorts for good profit too.  Huge money to be made in futures.

Hi chriswen, where do you find that info? i'd be quite interested to see more about that. Thanks
1583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Low volume trades, No one wants this shitcoin anymore on: May 14, 2015, 08:07:47 AM
That bubble seemed pretty real to me !

In response to above comments  US$ is not real 'money' it is credit/debt notes which can be created from thin air. US $$$ are created by billions even trillions at whim of the fed. Don't give me this shit about US$ being real money. US$ used to try to to be real money with promise to redeem in gold. Since US went bankrupt in the 70's we've had fake money rammed down our throats. Now they are going to try and even ban the bits of paper so all will be controlled by the governments. Real money holds value due to scarcity, US$ has declined in value 98% since it was created. In fact central banks deliberately try to devalue it through inflation ('to help the economy'). US$ .. Real money .  Angry
1584  Other / Meta / Newbie accounts used for trolling on: May 14, 2015, 07:46:56 AM
Did there not used to be a rule that newbies were confined to the Beginners section for a period of time. Has that been abandoned ? The speculation forum is plauged by regular new threads started by brand new 'newbies' accounts. They all appear to obviously be the same person behind these different accounts. Last one was called something like 'noone want this shitcoin anymore'.

Could we see the newbies again confined to beginners for initial period of time ?
1585  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the Bear Trend on: May 14, 2015, 07:36:10 AM
what is the next target if the end f the bear trend really proves to be true?

I don't have a target but I regard bitcoin as undervalued. Particularly in the event that stock market eventually crashes (which it will), soverign debt failures, bank failures, more bailouts, more QE, as fiat continues a death spiral. Bitcoin, Gold and Silver will all benefit hugely. Stck up now while its cheap.
1586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whoa, who let the Bears out ... ? on: May 14, 2015, 07:25:27 AM
Ripples (xrp) are 100% created by RippleLabs (or whatever they are called these days), ie not mined or minted in any decentralised or fair way. I wouldn't buy xrp as investment. Bitcoin is still finding support along rising trendlines. Its all good.
1587  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the Bear Trend on: May 13, 2015, 10:46:29 PM
Price still bouncing up the trendline..

The end in sight yet ?

I'm curious why you ignored the second local bottom around $212 for your rising trend line.
Not calling you out, just wondering  Smiley

Its not ignored, if price dips below again I'll start looking at lower parallel trendlines. For now I don't think its needed tho

the bond managers are getting desperate.  anything to make their bond portfolio prices go up.

note that this guy doesn't ever truly think that gvt manipulation of interest rates will ever be to the upside; he knows they're a one trick pony.  it would just be a matter of how negative they want to take them to screw the savers to his benefit:

 Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

Make cash illegal. They'll never get away with it no matter how 'futuristic' they make it sound. I'll switch to dash if theres no cash

A picture paints a thousand words of what? Nonsense ?

Anyway what am I bothering to feed the troll for? Adios to this thread

1591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kwukduck's motivation on: May 13, 2015, 01:42:26 PM
Don't you guys know the bitcoin ponzi scheme is collapsing right now??
I sold my coins for 10 dollars before it was too late!

no but seriously... i think 50 is on the high end, im guessing next difficulty will only push it to about silver 35-40 USD

Look at Kwukduck's history, it seems he sold at $10 and has been a salty troll ever since!!!

HODL, do not become a Kwukduck!!!

Nice find  Grin

edit:Wow this thread is from right at the first bubble peak.
1592  Economy / Speculation / Re: Low volume trades, No one wants this shitcoin anymore on: May 13, 2015, 11:03:20 AM
The real market demand is so low almost zero.

90% of the current trades volume are manipulations, pump and dump day trading.
Only 10% rest are dark markets illegal activities demand.

People finally understand this bitcoin scamcoin is useless and going to be worthless, It would be the end once those bag holders give up faking 90% trades to create this dying "booming" market.

I think this is same troll that was going on about low voume bull traps.

Anyway in response to OP, I think the market having low volume is entirely normal for one which is trying to find the bottom after a huge bear correction from an even huger bubble peak. Once it is confirmed which way the market is going next (up) then the voume will return. At the moment we are witnessing the end of dispair phase in which soon new green shoots of optimism will grow.
1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: No volume Bull-Traps on: May 11, 2015, 09:51:42 PM
Why do newbies hate bitcoin so much? Did you get in at the peak and full of loathing now ?

Even if you buy at the top in December 2013, Bitcoin gave you a lot of chance to recover your loss. So, I don't think it's about that. They just don't know how to make money in bear market.

Yes I also don't really think its because that either to be fair.

Maybe paid to spread fud ?

Or Maybe just loves trolling ?

Or a little minnow who actually believes these comments can move the market LOL

We are seeing no volume fake recovers, price slowly going up with barely no volume, there will suddenly be a huge dump takes the price back down to sub $180.

Fake pump and dump, your money is gone and left you with heavy bags. Don't bite the bait, Price already dropped 80% and will keep dropping.

Bitcoin, by criminals for criminals. Don't fantasy about this failing scheme.

1596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin be around in 5 years? If so, what's its price? on: May 08, 2015, 01:14:31 PM
Despite its peak at nearly at $140,000 in 2018 by the time 5 years is passed people will be proclaiming the death of bitcoin after its price plummets down to about $23,000. However there will still be diehards saying that the all time high can be broken and bitcoin will go to the moon. Hardly anyone will own whole bitcoins by then.

1597  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: May 08, 2015, 10:37:27 AM
I don't know enough about the block size limits really but is increasing it just kicking the can down the road. Can we just keep doing that? A bit like how USA used to keep increasing the debt ceiling
1598  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never again be priced over $300. on: May 08, 2015, 09:32:38 AM
I tried to pay for a VPS using mastercard the other day however my bank saw fit to block the payment going through, not only that they then blocked my account for suspicious activity and the fraud dept phoned me the next day. They even started asking for my details my date of birth etc even though they initiated the call which I of course refused to give them. Eventually after I called them explaind yes it was me trying to do the transaction, it wasn't suspicious etc they removed the block.

The fun part is after all that I noticed paying with bitcoin was an option for that VPS. I credited the account with appropriate amount of bitcoin and it went through virtually straight away. No hassle. No bank getting in the middle blocking what I want to do.

Point of all that is that as a payment mechanism bitcoin was far easier for me.

This doesn't even go into the value bitcoin gets from its other monetary properties. The thing I like best is that the quantity is not controlled by some centralised authority eg like XRP or like fiat dollars as a store of value bitcoin could turn out to be better than gold

1599  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Analysis Fractal] using 200day EMA. impressive charts! lines!!! indicators!!!!! on: May 07, 2015, 07:21:05 AM
Option A is closest to my own expectations. Very interesting analysis thanks for sharing that
1600  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the Bear Trend on: May 07, 2015, 07:11:02 AM
Alright, how do these charts line up with the recent dump on Wednesday night? I mean, we seem to have established quite an impressive potential bottom around $230 now. That amount of coins bringing us down only $4 is quite impressive!

So far the 'End of the Bear Trend' is still intact. Heres how its looking on latest chart from btc-e (log price scale)
