I'm in the camp of those expecting a massive speculative bubble too, for reasons similar to those given in OP. Dont panic buy into the massive green candles, buy now and simply wait. Or trade a few alts with a little bit on the side to keep you entertained while you wait.

Most of my crypto is in form of bitcoin but I also have Dash which I like because of many reasons. I also like to play around with small amounts tading alts because its fun

Misplaced optimism, I fear. There's no sky-rocketing any more. We'll lurch from $10 price rise/fall every few days until the halving in July, maybe up to 600 if we're lucky. After July, we'll see price collapse to 300-350. There's way too much expectation of rise to the moon, don't forget bitcoin always does the opposite of your expectations.
I think you are right in short term, I'm anticipating that trendline won't hold. But I can wait. There are other factors that can or will come into play. Stock market crash, negative interest rates. etc. I think it much more likely bitcoin will rise than fall but maybe not as steep as my previous ultra bull predictions |

I gave up on Mat, he's the only person on my ignore list I think and a big factor why I don't bother posting my analysis anymore. Keep all the good stuff for myself. I find him to be rude and obnoxious especially if you dare to have a different opinion than him. Still his quotes are amusing.

By then bitcoin might be the preferred to handle the largest transactions between global corporations, governments and banks etc. 1 bitcoin might have a huge value by then. But I don't think it won't be preferred for buying a coffee in starbucks. It is not really suited to small transactions. Or not! Who the heck really knows ?  |

You are not the only one, the technical analysis by akrion(or w/e) shows it.
IMO it's signals to other whales or bots.
I was half wondering about that sort of scenario myself. Some system of indicating level they want to drive/manipulate price down to perhaps. I've seen similar things on silver spot chart in the past. Anyway it comes and goes, I'm not seeing it there when i look now but I've seen it reappear a few times |

I know what you mean Roach but to be fair it goes both ways too. I hodl'd far too much in the last bear market and watched in horror as further price falls developed. However in this situation I am very bullish and ready to hodl. Cautiously |

With the Halving in mind and assuming that the value of bitcoins is increasing steadily, I'd say the price would probably cap at $750 after the Halving and then settle down at around maybe $450 a few weeks/months after the halving because of the big bitcoin dump that will definitely happen. Pretty much the same as what happened in 2014. There was big leap of bitcoin value and then (almost) everyone started dumping and the value continuously started dropping.
Continously dropping.... but not down to levels before the last halving. We have always been way above the last pre halving value despite all ups and downs since. |

Been a bit out of touch with Dash lately so last night had a bit of catch up whats new and watched part of Evans last interview. Was a little concerned by Evans comment that he's sees Dash as a monetary system. Or the 'first decentralised monetary system' I think he said. Maybe I'm misinterpreting intent of this statement but to me that is too grandoise.
My strong opinion is that Dash should only be thought of as Digital Cash. Only that and nothing more. Digital cash. I see potential that Dash is slipping off the rails and losing focus on what is supposed to be.

The budget should be going towards things to stimulate demand for using it as Cash. Getting Dash accepted into as many e-commerce portals as possible /* even encouraging use in dark web on silk road type sites */

I love the Dash project and the community but sometimes worry the potential will not be realised as it should. Being the internets cash of choice is huge. This is what we should aim at

A whale trader at Bitstamp got a bit too excited with his buy order I guess. These peaks are quite rare on Bitstamp nowadays. Usually Bitstamp is always following what other exchanges are doing and then start showing some action in the price as result, but not what it did today.
The very same 'whale trader', also fired a 2500 BTC market order into Finex's Ask wall, at 20:12. Whoever this was, simply wanted 5K BTC, at around this pricepoint. I don't know if it's the same whale, but if it is, then it can be seen as a good sign as he/she went in at current price levels. It means that the whale is expecting the price go up further than it has been going the last days. Two 2K+ BTC Market Orders, both executed at 20:12 UTC. What are the chances? It is the same whale entity for sure. It is hard to 2nd guess whale shenanigans when we see them at work on exchanges. Who really fkn knows? I remember on the crash from $500 down to $300, there was 3K BTC Ask Walls going up on both Stamp and Finex, and even huge walls on Kraken...I remember permabulls on this site rejoicing in the Wall Observer thread, but I remember me thinking "oh fuck, this is bad, those walls been put there to be devoured". Of course, one can never *know* for sure, otherwise you would just short, or sell, etc....but on this occassion, true enough, all walls on all exchanges were devoured all at once, within 30 seconds.... So simultaneous 2K Market orders across different exchanges, are signs that whales are active, but what their intentions are, only they know.......That 5K (in total) of BTC won't be expensive BTC if they plan on dumping it $10-$15 further up the charts. Who knows? All I know is that as a trader, when I see big players getting up to monkey antics, I get very nervous. Let me guess, you were shorting ? |
