This is the real world folks Dash is not anywhere near replacing fiat. Most expenses will be paid down the line in fiat. This is the reality
Meanwhile we commit to a contract in which we pay 100 Dash per month, and dash falls in value. Contractor can't complete the job, ruined reputation etc. How does that help them or us?
On flip side we commit to a contract in which we pay 100 Dash per month, dash rises to huge new heights and the contractor is laughing, easy money for very little effort. That is all value being taken away from Dash for very little gain. Meanwhile other viable proposals fail to get funding because there is not enough slices left in the pie. Nic efor the contractor who gets the easy money, not nice for those missing out. Not nice for Dash getting bang for buck.
Long term contracts paid out in Dash is not going to work. I don't think hedging with derivatives will head anywhere good either. Keep it simple. Pay in Dash, renegotiate often based on exchange rates.

On subject of contracts maybe i need to give some time to ponder it but my instinctive reaction is that its not going to work. Dash is too volatile. Neither on Dash side or on contractors side should there be so much currency value risk. Easiest solution might be more of a 'pay as you go' deal for Dash where proposals can only last one budget then have to be renegotiated. If the contractor doesn't like it, find another one who does.

Bulls winning so far, not sure if thats a bullish signal or contrarian bearish  I have seen a lot people turn from ultra bullish to just bullish on the edge of being bearish lately. There were a lot people posting stuff like the price will rise to $1000 and even $2000 after the block halving. These people lowered their tone significantly. I suppose people are a bit more cautious about all the scalability squabbling and possible branching of the blockchain. And that Mike Hearn stuff. Although being honest had anyone even heard of Mike Hearn before he stormed out like that? |

I think mine is more precise  haha, actually not sure which is best fit for me, i'm long bitcoin but not to the hilt and happy to just hodl with my current holding. So I put 'planning to sell', but I'm not selling until much higher prices than todays prices if it goes to plan. |

I voted bearish, will reach $100.
I wish i had other options, like - will drop to $250.
I can settle for Flat and range bound. Seems reasonable.
Any way, very telling that 53% + are bullish. To me, that is a bad sign.
I've changed that option to 'price will fall' rather than naming a price, I didn't really mean $100 as a target although thats how it sounded. Thanks for the links, interesting reading. My own instinct says road map that core is proposing looks pretty good all things considered, I'm resistant to the Classic fork myself.
Seems to me trouble with 2M blocks isn't that each block is 2M which is still quite easy to download and process. The problem is exponentially increasing size of blockchain as new blocks keep getting added and added relentlessly, this will ramp the actual total size of block chain much quicker. Its about 75G just now which is not really small. (In fact even with 1M blocks this problem remains that the blockchain will eventually be too big to be decentralised, that blockchain is just going to keep growing).
So why there is this rush to increase block size anyway, are the blocks nearly full just now ? How do you know or measure how much block space is being used ? Is there a way to monitor that ?

I'm still leaning towards megabubble This is an interesting and very good way to have real data about something (whatever can be). Very different from these threads who tell: will be 560 us dollar or will reach 987 us dollar. Very different even from those which ask fixed price. Having reasonable options to chose is a scientific tool which measure with acceptable precision (the amount of which depends only by the number of votes) the "humor" and the expectations of the people of bitcoin. Its interesting to see the results of this poll and it would be better that OP first and all the others find ways to spread it as much as it would be possible. More are the voters more everyone will know the overall thoughts of our community. Its interesting to read even the arguments which might give everyone regarding its choice. I can tell that I voted the second option and don't have any particular argument in favor of my choice. It is only (as it told by OP) what I feel about the possible price after halving. I hope to have big wrong and what I feel be a big mistake. Thanks, yes I hope results could be quite revealing |

I have done zero bedtime reading about zero cash so forgive me if I'm writing crap, but anyway my impressions I have that I don't like are that it is owned by a company. In a sense it is centralised with a generous slice of minted coins directed to the aforementioned company.
Also I remember hearing about an anonymisation technique in which you have to trust the person who generated the first block to destroy the private key without writing it down, otherwise they have the ability to decrypt the anonymisation forever after. Is this using that technique ? If so why trust they don't have the backdoor key handy ?
