1662  Economy / Speculation / Re: What I've noticed over the last year of downtrend on: March 03, 2015, 05:07:56 PM
This is only my hunch but I think the bottom is in.. however on the way up I'm sure bears will get their moments too.
1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was that the bottom ? on: March 03, 2015, 12:08:52 AM
only thing annoying me about my last purchase was maybe i should have got more.

I agree, but you should always be happy with what you got, not with what you don't have.

I sounds easy, but I admit, it isn't. You should try though.

Just think about all those people who still have none at all
Yes, they exist, there are millions of them.
Millions of them with millions of cash ready to buy.

Hypothetically, say you'd sold some bitcoin and bought some gold when bitcoin was near its all time high and were tempted to sell it to buy back into bitcoin would you rush in now .... or wait ?

I already did, back in december.
I sold on the gold bottom to catch the bitcoin bottom Smiley
It went a little bit worse after that, but now I would say I'm in a little profit with that trade.

I figured there was much more upside potential with bitcoin than with gold.
I'm usually too early with my trades. I'm in the process of learning to slow down a bit.

Bitcoin is gold on steroids.

Think I'll do it!!  wether the ratio moves up or down from here in short term I don't think I'll be bothered about those short term moves when looking back

But.. but.. you were talking hypothetically, right? Wink
I think we both regret that we did not sell more...

But hey, life is all about calculated risks.

I just compensate it with some more leverage.

er yes hypothetically  Wink on the whole I'm mostly pleased with the trades i've made. Have made one or two pretty bad desicions along the way too but its all part of the learning experience.

1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold:Bitcoin (Price Ratio) on: March 02, 2015, 11:18:17 PM
This is a nice thread, same as me I'm also interested in gold and bitcoin ratio. Heres a look at my latest ratio chart

From a glance it looks very similar to the price chart of bitcoin measured in US$ but this is measured in ounces of gold. Currently bitcoin is gaining in value and broken up from some resistance. Will it reverse where i have marked top of channel ?

Personally i'm in a dilemma to swap gold back to bitcoin..? do it now or wait for possible better value ie lower ratio in the future ?

1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Buffett was right? on: March 02, 2015, 11:01:19 PM
Buffet benefits from the status quo and seeks to maintain the status quo. He called bitcoin rat poison at one time which is a very ineresting statement which can be taken different ways. I think he is best summed up as a paper bug

Hi findftp, brave move going all in but i have a feeling you will be very happy in the end. Won't suprise me to see some more big bear waves on the way up though.

only thing annoying me about my last purchase was maybe i should have got more.

Heres the inspiration for that idea I posted earlier on turning the chart upside down. Credit to ‘lowstrife’ on TradingView website for this idea. https://www.tradingview.com/v/ktWNOrLB/#tc146808
1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was that the bottom ? on: March 02, 2015, 05:49:14 PM
Resurrecting my old thread. The thesis that this was the bottom is still valid.

Heres an interesting idea, borrowed from someone on tradingView (sorry can't remember the username offhand will try and find it), Here is the bottom viewed upside down making it look like a top

Is this a bubble bottom ??

Does that look like a bubble top ? Was that bottom a bubble bottom Huh

Start stacking, this is the accumulation time
1670  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you going to invest in now that the Bitcoin Fever is gone? on: February 22, 2015, 01:19:47 AM
With bitcoin price this low I'd go with bitcoin as once again the best investment. I also like physical gold and silver plus planning to invest in some litecoin and darkcoin at some point. Don't like the stock market, too hard to know when it will blow and don't want to be the bag holder.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: It will drop under 100 on: February 17, 2015, 12:17:51 AM
I started a specific thread and asked this question about it dropping below 100...people keep insisting it can't get any lower and I wanted to know why can't it...what's the actual reason or reasons it can't and it appears there's not one other than they think "it just can't" because they say so.

Some people insist it won't get below $100 others insist its on its way to zero. I insist those things too.
happy pancake day !
1672  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $1000 Poll! on: February 17, 2015, 12:10:10 AM
From todays rock bottom prices that would be a 4 or 5 times rise. It is very very easily achievable. Bitcoin is GLOBAL form of money, decentralised and will withstand collapse of fiat currencies around the world. I'd guess by 2017 even if we experience severe deflation in western economies it is quite likely to reach 1000 by then. Bitcoin is also scarce.. If we experience hyperinflation in the economy then bitcoin will go beyond the moon. Be a fool not to have some skin in the game.
1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility - Is this the reason for the bear market? on: February 14, 2015, 10:58:29 PM
The drop this past year is classic deflation of a bubble. In 2013 it went up too far too fast, I reckon its as simple as that.
1674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was that the bottom ? on: February 13, 2015, 11:09:51 PM
Hey findftp did we get above your line ?
1675  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC could jump to price 300 fast on: February 13, 2015, 11:46:28 AM
Bitcoin price frequently move 20% up or down. Don't get too excited about small price hikes. Moving up to $300 and staying there needs momentum, and it is not something we individual buyers can do. Yes, BTC could jump to $300 real fast, but can also drop back to $250 equally quick.

Sit back and don't expect price to jump up a notch without any real good news.

I don;t think good news affects the price of bitcoin in any positive or negative way. Seemstohave no affect.

In a down trending correction like we are in now (in a big way) good news is ignored. But all this good news will suddenly be remembered and reinvigorated when the trend turns back to bullish.
1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC could jump to price 300 fast on: February 13, 2015, 11:43:01 AM
This rally 'could' go up towards $500 if it manages to break past $300

1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was that the bottom ? on: February 13, 2015, 09:40:59 AM

So it was you with the 1000 coins buy order at bitfinex? Grin

 Grin  Grin

I wish, I'm just small fry but its fun.

Quite a nice move up happening now, breaking through a bit of resistance looks like

1678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it time to go short? on: February 13, 2015, 09:28:35 AM
How are those shorts looking ?

SQUEEEEEEZE
1679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still holding?? on: February 13, 2015, 09:27:35 AM
Every time someone intentionally misspells Hold trying to be a cute trendy faggot, the price drops 1 cent.

I predict the price will rise when this meme dies.

HODL !!!!1

(price has risen 5% since I wrote first hodl in this thread)
1680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still holding?? on: February 12, 2015, 09:54:22 PM
Is it still ok to have loads of exclamation marks with a 1 at the end !!!!!!1
