It can easily go down towards 0.007 I think.

What does it mean for masternode operators? Need to install a patch or something?

Looks like the Dash correction might be over now. I see an inverted head n shoulders near completion.

Get Dash while its cheap ;-)

good call on that...i think you are right, if so it is going to jump in a big way

Yeah, it looks promising. Made a buy at 0.0094 to satisfy my crypto needs (and to get closer at setting up my last and final masternode)
Last time i made a buy was at 0.0056, those good old days  Roll Eyes

Edit : Truth be told, 0.0094 became too tempting to pass by...

Well it looked quite promising but hasn't broke the neckline so far. I don't see huge downside risk though myself. I bought some too

1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: February 11, 2016, 04:47:11 PM
Eth is insane. Definately a bubble. I've dipped in and out a couple of times with small amounts but think I'll just be satisifed watching from the sidelines now. Who knows how high it will go?

I have worries which would prevent me switching bitcoin into eth. Eg there doesn't seem to be a good wallet. (although maybe there is by now its a little while since i checked), blockchain is huge and looks far too big to remain decentralised. I don't even know the economics of the thing. How many will there ever be in total? How many are there now ? I think there was an IPO then it switches to proof of stake or something ? is that right? Anyway I'm not convinced by it yet, maybe i'll kick myself in the future, maybe not.
1187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: February 09, 2016, 11:01:38 AM

My question to you is, why do you say they are similar? yet,  one has a clear deep v shaped capitulated bottom, while in the most recent one, a period of up and down sideways flat action before going up.

Are they really similar?

Well at least two of us have noticed similarity in those regions so I would say yes they are similar.

What I see when looking at both of those regions is a rounded bottom followed by mini-bubble spike up in which price then corrects in a mini dead cat bounce.

Last time it was prelude to huge bull moves, this time, maybe again. But who really knows?
1188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: February 08, 2016, 06:20:39 PM

Yep, I noticed that one too

* I didn't get any because I couldn't find a good wallet.

I'm using Kraken as an ETH wallet for now. One of the few exchanges that I feel confident in.

I've lost funds by trusting exchanges (bitcoinica and to much lesser extent mintpal and cryptsy). Unless I find a good way to hold in my own wallet I won't go near it. (except in tiny play amount)

Ah well shows what I know, momentum found another leg up and eth is storming up again.  However I still have no plans to switch any btc for eth.

1191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pump only happened to liquiidate Short Stops, Dump has now wiped out Long Stops. on: February 08, 2016, 11:53:50 AM

Mat, Your expert advice from your amazing community of traders doens't seem to help you very much does it?

Every time you get it wrong its because fucking insiders in china triggered your stop loss.

Lol you are the noob.

It wasn't China.

It was Bitfinex.

Market aint doing fuck all. Bitfinex know market is ultimately going down, but needed to get some of these fkn pesky shorts off thier order books, so they turn on their voluminator, ramp BTC up, and then let the FOMO brigade pump BTC into the major short liquidity zones. Bitfinex lead all other BTC exchanges by a minute or two, with 2K BTC of volume that just came in out of knowhere. Shorts wiped out at break even and/or even loss levels. But now, there are a bunch of margin longs on the books....so.....turn the voluminator back on' slam a 2K sell order into Ask Wall, (again leading other exchanges by 1-2 minutes), then keep running market down to just beneath the first Long Stop liquidity pool. Job done. BucketshopFinex wins again!

Go look at the charts (follow link in my sig). Of the big exchanges, only Finex done an 80% retrace down into Long Stop liquidity pool. You will also be able to see that both pump and the dump were triggered on Finex, with the rest of the market following on behind. Only reason Bitfinex kept selling off, was to trigger Long Stops. My Long Stop was amongst those that got triggered way down at $365. Had it not been triggered, then I most likely would have exited my position at $375 instead. What do you think is the better scenario for Bitfinex, who aren't really passing any USD or BTC around, until a trader withdraws it from their exchange? Obviously, it is in BucketshopFinex's interests to ensure that as many traders as possible, lose, and they have the means and the lack of regulatory restrictions to ensure that this is always the case.

Bitcoin exchanges are corrupt places. No amount of TA is going to save you from that.

...oh....and my trading community are serving me just fine btw.....after all, I wasn't the fucking clown who stuck a price channel on Bitcoin at $450, that said Bitcoin was at bottom of channel and was about to go to 2 da moon.

LOL!

Considering i bought in the $200's I'm happy hodling, none of this is outside my own trading plan, including this downturn. Ps if you know so much about how they trigger your stops why you do it then ? Did your paid for experts tell you?

In fairness to kwuckduck those are all valid points in above quoted comment. In some ways I'm not too far away from his thinking either. However I still think price is going to rise though.

I'd be very careful with eth just now. Heres why

Price is still going up but momentum is fading. This is negative divergence which is a warning sign. If I had any eth I'd be taking profits now and starting selling probably.

1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Sentiment Poll on: February 07, 2016, 10:02:50 PM
Wow a kwuckduck vote already, wonder if that was from the actual kwuckduck?

When I voted I wondered what this voting option. Maybe you could enlight me about this ?

Kwuckduck is always hardcore bearish, for example.

Bitcoin doesn't scale.
Mining operations are becoming more and more centralized.
Mining is an inefficient wasteful and toxic process for the environment.
The vast majority of coins is owned by a hand full of people.
Confirmations are too slow for every day use.
Transactions are fully traceable,  not anonymous.
Need I go on?

I guess the kwuckduck vote is supposed to mean bitcoin will completely fail.
1196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Sentiment Poll on: February 07, 2016, 10:41:22 AM
*Bump*

Anyone else ready to vote? Where is bitcoin going in 2016?

1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread on: February 07, 2016, 12:27:08 AM
I'm thinking it might go down in a way that washes out weak hands first, then head up again. But thats nothing more than a feeling really. At the moment still looks totally balanced between bear and bull.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: February 07, 2016, 12:21:44 AM

Here's some links that I think will preview what applicants for blockchain funding will have to deal with:

Minotaur has highlighted a market for whom exchange rate fluctuations are a GOOD thing. But here are some for whom it's a BAD thing. IMO, Dash needs do develop a consciousness about the distinct requirements of both since they are in conflict.

In systems development theory, when you have conflicting priorities, the solution is to address then independently. (i.e, you create distinct products for each market). Dash is focused on the risk-asset product, not the currency product, which IMO is exactly where its priorities should lie. I don't think that Dash itself needs to supply the stable currency derivative which will work for commercial markets since 3rd parties usually supply such financial instruments.

But at the same time it should be conscious of the fact that the main market is for currency (albeit backed by a risk asset). For example, here are markets where people actually pay hard cash solely for the currency NOT to change in value between their budget date and manufacturing date. (So none of these markets would buy Dash - only a derivative of Dash):

Operational hedging (as opposed to monetary hedging)

Thanks toknormal, very informative. You always bring great insight on this topic.

It is, but to be honest it's kind of difficult to obtain any form of derivative for cryptocurrencies. If I recall correctly, Okcoin has future contracts for Bitcoin but I have never seen a really active derivative market for Bitcoin (or any cryptocurrency).

If you look on cryptowat.ch website looks like they list futures for bitcoin, litecoin and even etherium.

Good to see the soda machine guys getting some reward.

I'm still hung up on the volatility of exchange rates, for example Dash.org will be more than paid off by 'very' large amount if I'm not mistaken. Don't know what the answer is but it seems quite serious. How can we avoid paying far too much or underfunding far too much. We have to be honest Dash price is nowhere near stable
