2061  Economy / Economics / Re: You win or you learn. on: July 05, 2022, 07:28:24 AM
I myself also made a huge loss in this recent BTC crash.

You only made a loss if you actually sold your crypto currencies. As long as you are holding your coins your positions might be red, but you didn't realise any of these losses. As a long term crypto investor there is no real point in marking your positions to the current market price everyday. This is only helpful for traders who quickly buy and sell their positions. Right now we are in a bear market that affects all the major asset classes, even the top stock are down more than 40% YTD. The best we can do is hold out and not give into the panic selling.

1. Money management is very important. It is better to have some plan than no plan.
2. Opportunity will come again and again so do not FOMO.
3. Anything could go to zero no matter how big the project is(Luna disaster).

I agree with you that money management is very important in trading and investing, it gives us discipline and more control over our income and plans our spare money in advance to create an investment plan. A good money management strategy not only focuses on the income but also on the expenses each month. For me it helped a lot to budget my monthly bills and expenses and categorise them into necessary and unnecessary. Only with full control over our finances we a have the chance to quickly react when the market is entering the next bull market.
2062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino can play a role in changing fortune? on: July 05, 2022, 07:06:00 AM
He had only $5,000 when he entered a casino with a depressed mind. His destiny was revealed. He earned about $27,000 with in a week. Smith come back to FedEx headquarter and invest his money on his company even though his money was not enough to run the company but with his hard work and enthusiasm he arranged to send all the parcels. in this way he established his company.

I am not sure if this is really a good success story for gambling. There are a few issues with the story that are not really good in my opinion. First of all, going to visit a casino with a "depressed mind" is the wrong state of mind before gambling. Personally I only try to gamble when I feel good, because when losing in a casino everything feels worse. So if I am already in a bad mood before by gambling session I would be afraid to downward spiral into a depression after losing money. Gambling with $5,000 as a CEO seems alright, his salary must have been quite high even during the startup phase. But making it to $27,000 within a week doesn't seem so live changing for such a huge company like FedEx. With that money you could have maybe bought one new delivery truck, or hire a few more employees. Not sure if it was worse it to spend one week for that money. Couldn't he just get a loan that is much larger and spend the week working to advance his business? We shouldn't forget the opportunity cost of gambling for a whole week and not being in the office working.
2063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is a Museum of Bitcoin Mining History in Caracas, Venezuela on: July 05, 2022, 06:45:59 AM
If anyone is interested in visiting(it's free), here is the actual address: F5R2+633, Final de Av. Libertador, Torre Xerox de Venezuela, PB, Altamira, Mun, Caracas 1060, Miranda, Venezuela

Looks nice the museum and would be a cool visit, unfortunately it's a bit far away for me. At the moment I don't have any plans of travelling to South America. Venezuela sounds like a nice place to make vacation with good weather and cheap food. The problem for me is that I don't speak any Spanish and it could be hard to get around only with English. A friend of mine was in Colombia two years ago and he said that almost nobody spoke English, so without at least a basic level of Spanish it seems impossible to travel there. Maybe the museum could maybe a virtual tour through the history of bitcoin mining? That would could be interesting for the many people who live to far away from Caracas.
2064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To build your Professionalism on casino on: July 04, 2022, 09:12:32 AM
How do you define success in gambling if we are supposed to view gambling as entertainment?
If by "success in gambling" you mean making money, this isn't like viewing gambling as a form of entertainment. This sounds more like you are contradicting to yourself.
I think that gambling is a way to entertain yourself by wasting small amounts of money. It's a guilty pleasure, but it has nothing to do with success, just like the other bad habits-smoking, drinking, videogames, porn.
The only "success" in gambling is to keep yourself out of gambling addiction and not spending big amounts of money.

I agree with you, gambling is a form of entertainment where the focus should not be on success and making money. If we only go into gambling with the idea of becoming rich and making money, we will be frustrated very fast. Sure there are a few lucky gamblers who manage to get rich, but the majority of players will not achieve that. Measuring success as avoiding big losses and njg becoming addicted is a good idea. It's like going out a night drinking with friends, we could only buy champagne and spend thousands of dollars. Like that we will likely feel horrible on the next day, it's about having a good time while not spending all your money. The excitement in gambling for me is that there is a small chance to win big. I am aware it's a small chance and I will not count on it to happen.
2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Are Buying on: July 04, 2022, 08:29:06 AM
Good for El Salvador that they keep buying at such low levels. If they have the free cash to invest than it makes a lot of sense to buy now. Unfortunately my spare money this year is very limited and I managed only to buy 500 USD in bitcoins at 19,000. I would like to buy more, but taking out a loan to buy bitcoins is to risky for me. Now all I can hope is that the next rally isn't coming to soon. To be honest doubling down on their strategy seems like the only viable option for El Salvador. Accepting defeat and stopping their bitcoin approach would be political suicide, as long as they are not selling any coins they are not realising their losses. We all know crypto currencies move in cycles, it's only a matter of time for prices to recover.
2066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 04, 2022, 06:42:42 AM
After this experience I believe gambling is for the big bag holders, if you're in urge of making a win. Very much disappointed, because it is the last few dollars I had as a cryptocurrency holding. If I had more funds I wouldn't have encountered this big loss. Martingale once again a failed strategy when you don't have big bag of money.

I don't really understand that screenshot, how is this martingale strategy if you lose such large amounts. How are you going from winning 0.85 cents to losing 6.35 USD and then up to 133 USD. Something seems off on your strategy, either you are jumping too high to quickly with your bet size or you started way to high with your initial bet and don't have enough funds to cover a few losses. The idea behind a martingale strategy is that you increase your bet size to cover any previous losses with one single bet. That's why a martingale strategy should always be a percentage of your total bankroll and not a fixed number. If you work in percentages than you don't need a big bag of money, you can build yourself up.
2067  Economy / Economics / Re: Unemplyment at least 50% how world will look like then ? on: July 04, 2022, 06:27:29 AM
Unemployment at least 50% in usa at least so how THE wprld world will look like ?
Definately all prices will 80-90%down

It is really hard to imagine a country with 50% unemployment rate, it means that out of 2 random people you meet on the street one is likely employed and the other one is not. What happens to the tens of million unemployed people? The government will have to increase welfare and take care of them. All the free money that the government brings into the market should keep prices stable I would expect. A price drop of 80-90% for all goods seems very unlikely, because all the money in the economy doesn't just disappear with rising unemployment. It is just a new distribution of capital, the rich 1% and all the big corporations will hold most of the money. With half of the country not working I don't think they will be happy about where their money meant. We should see the rise of more extremist leftist politicians who will take away the money from the rich and distribute among the poor.

2069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons why people avoid KYC in gambling casino ? on: July 02, 2022, 02:13:45 PM
It's been observed that gamblers prefer to play on casino which do not enforce KYC. Well, let's discuss what are the main reasons that they do not want to show their identity and gamble anonymously.

They don't trust the casino as the casino might misuse the kyc documents or the gamblers want to gamble without telling anyone that they are the gamblers,  gambling is illegal in their region or religion and they want to hide their identity or there could be any other solid reason?

For me the biggest fear of providing my documents online is identify theft. If the wrong people are getting access to my personal documents they could use them for illegal activities and even hurt me directly. Once someone has our full address, copy of ID and bank account details he can do a lot of things with. Requesting a new credit card or online banking access which than will be stolen out of our post box cod ruin your whole life. Once the scanners have access to the bank account they will clear it out completely, and even if you manage to get your money back with the help of the bank there can still be permanent damage. One issue could be that the credit rating is getting affected negatively. That's why I am really cautious when it comes to KYC at very new casino. If it's an older casino who has been around for several years and has a good reputation I am not so worried. They usually have a security to prevent misuses of personal information. I also understand that casinos need that to protect itself against money laundering.
2070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 02, 2022, 02:01:08 PM

now come to think of it since it is difficult to escape our genetic makeup,
- Would you blame an individual who becomes addicted to gambling because it is wired to his DNA?

-Can their gambling problem be put in check by regular methods?

-Will the addiction be worse than someone who picked up the habit?

I am sorry to burst this bubble but there is no gambling gene, gambling is not wired into our DNA. My parents, grand parents and my uncles are not got into gambling. My Dad has never seen a casino from the inside and is against any games that involved money, and still I love gambling. As soon as I turned 18 I visited my first casino even though my parents were strictly against it. In my opinion the interest in gambling comes from friends who have similar interests and not from genetic connections in our body. Also what about the many children who want to be the opposite of their parents? I would expect many children who see their parents gamble to not do it.
2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investors Ready To Deploy $25,000,000,000 Once Bottom Is In, on: July 02, 2022, 01:45:58 PM
Wow 25bn USD is a lot of money to buy bitcoins with. I am wondering how high the bitcoin price would jump if all that money comes on the market in one day go buy coins. I remember reading somewhere that the average 30 day volume in the bitcoin market is around 20-25bn USD. So that would mean we could see a huge spike in trading volume which should influence prices heavily. And once we see a lot of new buyers in the market I am sure that others will follow to not miss out on the next rally. The only question remains are we really at the bottom. I really hope so, but the news about a possible famine due to the Ukraine Russia war keep me worried.
2072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: July 02, 2022, 10:13:30 AM
This is the right time to buy more cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin because the  more people come into the market and increases their demand for it, its value continues to grow rapidly.

I fully agree with you, buying right now is a much better idea than to sell our coins. Everybody who is selling now will drive prices lower and makes the bear market worse. And everybody who is buying now will help to make the bear market less severe and help bitcoins to recover. The small transactions most of us do don't have a big impact, but if we all work together we can influence the price also. The best thing to do during the bear market is to hold out and wait for prices to recover. I made the mistake one time in my life to sell to early and missed out on the last bug rally. Not going to fall into the same trap again. We should be buying when the prices are low and selling when prices are high, not the other way round. Who cares in a few years if you bought bitcoins at 18, 21 or 25,000 USD.
2073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 02, 2022, 07:50:50 AM
Intel Extrem Masters Cologone 2022 Play-In stages are coming up next week with tons of nice matches to look forward to. With best of 1 matches there isn't much room to make mistakes. For the first games on Tuesday I will stick with save games to only make a smaller profit. Astralis vs 00Nation looks like one of those save games to me. Even though I like the Brazilian team and coldzera and taco are two very skilled players, I don't think they have any chance to win against Astralis. The second match I bet on is BIG vs Order, should also be a save win for BIG. Have been a long time fan of BIG and hope they will get far in the tournament. To me there is no real question that Astralis and BIG are not going to qualify for the main event. The last bet I will put on Vitality in the match against TYLOO, it should be another good win for Vitality. TYLOO is just not as good as the rest of the other teams, out of their last few competitive matches they lost most of them.
2074  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: waiting to buy lower? on: July 02, 2022, 07:21:12 AM
People are waiting to buy lower, but what if you're wrong and this is the bottom?

You never know what's going to happen next.

That is the biggest question in trading, are prices going to fall lower or are we already out of the worst? When it comes to trading it's all about timing, buying or selling at the wrong time can turn a good trade into a loss. For some people it's fun and exciting to bet everything on one card and either be right or wrong with their prediction. There are other approaches when it comes to finding the right time to sell and to buy than just listen to your stomach. Technical analysis can be a great tool in trading to help finding the bottom. But if you are accepting the fact that there is a lot of randomness and uncertainty in the market we will not be able to find the exact bottom. Then it is best to just buy smaller amounts over a longer period of time. If you split out your purchases over the next 8 weeks, and buy every week 12.5% of the money you invest your chances are higher to have a good average purchase price. There is still a lot of uncertainty in the market with very high volatility we can take advantage of.
2075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Pros and Cons of Bitcoin Gambling on: July 02, 2022, 06:56:03 AM

- Is it convenient to play in the Bitcoin Gambling?
- How does Bitcoin gambling work?
- Does Bitcoin Gambling can give a good opportunity to everyone?

- if you become addicted to gambling can it be said that it is a good result even though there is an advantage if you play in the Bitcoin
  gambling

Right now it's very convenient for me to gamble with bitcoins because the price is so low. For long term investors gambling offers the chance to generate some passive income on times of low prices. A few months ago when the prices where much higher I was a bit reluctant to use crypto currencies for gambling. It seemed easier to gamble with fiat money. My main fear was I would lose bitcoins while the price would rise higher and I lost double because I had to buy back the bitcoins at a higher price. Now it's all about making some return on the side.
Gambling with bitcoins is very easy, you need no credit card or bank account. The coins can be directly transferred from your wallet to the casino and its faster than any wire transfer. Becoming addicted to gambling is a terrible thing and I don't think there is anything positive in it if you gamble with fiat or with bitcoins. I would assume that an addict makes no difference in what type of currency he uses to gamble. Maybe with bitcoins it's easier to give away access to your wallet to your family, to prevent yourself from gambling.

2076  Economy / Economics / Re: UK inflation hits new high of 9.1% as food and energy price surge persists on: July 02, 2022, 06:54:19 AM
These inflation numbers we are seeing right now are insane. How is any normal person going to be able up keep his living standards normal? We all need food and energy to survive, there is no real possibility do cut back expenses to a complete minimum. All the Western countries are facing a similar dilemma right now, rising inflation while the wages are  oh covering that increase. So far I heard from companies raising salaries by 2-3%, but this is not offsetting a 9% inflation. So somehow we got out of the covid mess but things seem much worse now. And don't forget all the savings people hold in bank accounts with less than 1% interest, they will be worthless in a few years. The worst thing is that there is no end insight for the Russia Ukraine war, which means energy and food prices will keep rising. Looks like the only solution is to buy gold or crypto currencies.
2077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: June 29, 2022, 07:08:32 AM

What is your opinion on Fake money gambling apps, do you recognize the potential I think they have to assist in reducing the number of gamblers who loose real money?

I don't think this going to work to be honest. Someone who is struggling with gambling addiction needs to stop gambling no matter what, there is no compromise along the way. It's like saying to an alcoholic just drink non alcoholic beers and drinks. The problem is that the behaviour of addicts is compulsory and they won't be able to stop when they start again, even if it is just with play money. The idea sounds nice at first because the gambler wouldn't lose money and can still be able to gamble, but I don't think they will be able to keep it up to stick to only play money. Imagine playing a few days with play money and winning a lot of chips, you know it's not real and your brain will ask you why didn't you play with real money. How can we guarantee that an addict can only play with fake money and not sign up at another casino to gamble with real money again?
2078  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Central Bank Digital Currencies Kill Cryptocurrencies ? on: June 29, 2022, 06:38:25 AM
IMF are chiefly responsible and Championing the move against Crypto Currencies and Bitcoin all for them selfish interest... But do you see any possibility of Central Bank's Cryptocurrencies killing Bitcoin, Crypto Currencies ?, although China imposed huges bans of any other digital currencies except there's and are doing quite well ( Economy ) correct me if I'm not!

What you think?!

I don't think that digital currencies issued by central banks can kill crypto currencies. The more people invest in crypto currencies the more powerful they become, and the less power governments have on the money supply. Banning crypto currencies might be one option for one party countries like China, but it doesn't work in democracy with multiple parties. We have seen so this year when the European Union tried to limit crypto currencies and their bill didn't pass. As for the IMF, it's is run by politicians who are connected to the big Western countries and will act in their interest. The IMF is giving out their loans in US Dollars and Euros and doesn't want Bitcoins and other cryptos to succeed. In the end it comes down to investors who actually buy and trade in a currency they choose. Just because the government tells us to buy central bank digital currency doesn't mean we have to do it. In my opinion the demand for such digital currencies will not be as high as for crypto currencies.

5. No betting on YouTube reviews or anyone's advice. Prepare yourself to understand the advantage or disadvantage.

Very good summary of betting tips that should everybody read who wants to go into gambling. It's dangerous to go into gambling for the wrong and be need to be aware that things can go wrong and we lose money. For your 5. point I would also add listening to friends. Following YouTube reviews or betting strategies is most of the times an advertising video where they only show the part in which they make money. All the losses are edited out to make them look much more profitable than they really are. The same can happen among friends too. Maybe a friend or colleague wants to look cool and tells about the big money he won on gambling. We need to ask if he also tells us about his losses, if he doesn't than it's not an accurate picture again. People tend to want to look more successful than they really are. And if we believe everything we see online we will feel bad when not reaching the same profits. Managing expectations and emotions is the hardest thing in gambling in my opinion.

Relocating from my house to another area where my friends could not find me easily because there was this pressure from them why I
suddenly started to ingnoring them so I had to relocate.

First of all congratulations on beating your gambling addiction. We have several addiction problems in our family, I know that any form of addiction is hard to overcome. My cousin is struggling with drug addiction and lives for more than two years on a farm now because he cat be alone. My uncle is addicted to cigarettes and tried probably 15 times to stop already. It's very hard to overcome an addiction on your. Reading through the things that helped you to get better I especially feel the last part. You write that "friends" give you pressure to gamble more, that really hurts because I had similar experiences in the past. It might be hard to realise but they are not real friends. If friends try to convince you to do things that are bad for you, they are no real friends and we need to avoid them. I had people like that around me in high-school who wanted to go out drinking every night. It took me a long time to realise they are no friends who actually help me.
