Hamilton talked big about overtaking Alonso and keeping it that way until the end of the race. But in reality we saw how Alonso drove brilliantly ahead of him for a long time and got past the finish line like that as well. Of course there were times they overtook each other but the winner was Alonso in the end. Alonso said that Hamilton didn't leave him alone even for one lap.  This was another great race for Alonso. Since the beginning of the season we have been seeing him being on podium in nearly every race. We don't see the same competitiveness from Stroll for example. Alonso has a lot of experience and he is an F1 champion too of course. This is just the car he was wishing for to be more competitive for top positions. |

Penalty shootouts was a way better stage of the game. There was a high adrenaline and the goalkeepers also had a really big responsibility. However Simon dealt with this pressure very well and saved 2 penalties. He suddenly became the hero of the game for his team. I wouldn't have been surprised if Croatia won this as well by the way.
I just wished we were able to watch some goals in regular time or extra time. It wasn't an exciting finale considering the general look of it. Both sides like to play a controlled game in such times of course but this was still not an hindrance to watch some goals before penalty shootouts. Congrats to Spain! Modric must have been really devastated with this result while getting close to the end of his national team career.

There are still news regarding Ancelotti to become Brazil manager soon. Brazil must be making a decent effort to convince him to manage themselves. After Tite's period has ended Brazil really need a trustworthy and successful manager to play bigger for championships finally. Ancelotti is obviously one of those candidates to lead this team to victories.
However I don't know what goes around Ancelotti's mind. He has one more year on his contract with Real Madrid. Maybe he would think of staying for that season as well and lead this team to get stronger with new additions in the summer.

It is interesting that Galtier is still seen as PSG manager on Transfermarkt. I wonder whether they are waiting on the official announcement from PSG side about it. I thought he was still the manager until coming across some news sources telling the situation. Nagelsmann is seen like the most powerful candidate for the position according to those sources.
But it looks like PSG haven't made up their mind yet. Luis Enrique and Jose Mourinho are the other candidates I have been hearing about. Luis Enrique also would be really nice I assume because he has a really successful history with Barcelona. Him and Mourinho would be my first choices rather than Nagelsmann comparing their careers.

Indeed there is a need of making the squad better in this summer. I have talked about a need of a striker only but it isn't the only problem in this team of course. Besides they have actually signed Nkunku for the attacking line which would be a really nice improvement. But I don't know if they are planning to make do with this about striker transfer.
Apart from that I hope another thing not to happen. You know they signed Werner as well from Leipzig but there was no impressive performance left in him after coming to the Premier League. He was a great scorer in the Bundesliga. I hope the situation with Nkunku doesn't become similar to that as well.
They have a lot of failed purchases and it's just a waste of money they do. Of the many players they have brought in this season, how many players can make a big contribution? I can even say that not a single player has contributed this season. Like it or not, they have to reshuffle, unless their new coach can convince that the existing players he can rely on and give something he wants with the strategy he has. But would he be able to do that, if not much change? I wouldn't say I could and I wouldn't say I couldn't either. For example Mudryk has been brought here for 70 million euros. He played in quite many games with Chelsea this season but couldn't make a big contribution. I don't know maybe he has had adaptation problems but we would see whether it was really the reason by the beginning of next season. I agree that they couldn't benefit from their transfers very much after all the money spent. Pochettino's job isn't going to be easy while trying to find the right game plan for this team. He will need to do an extra effort to improve the morale of the players as well after having a nightmare season. I'm at least feeling confident about he can't be worse than Potter. I think they will be in top 4 race if they make a decent start and keep a good form for a while. |

Chelsea desperately need a centre-forward and Vlahovic fits that description perfectly. After Didier Drogba and Diego Costa, they could not fill that region with a good transfer. However, Vlahovic may be the best signing for this region. Chelsea have a great budget but can't make the right transfers. I wonder if Pochettino can handle this problem. I think they need someone with experience who can take responsibility for this whole process. In the last 1 year, they paid more than 600 million euros to 16-17 football players, but in return they presented a great example of failure. I think there is a cacophony in the club and I think it would be a better choice for them to give all the authority in this matter to the coach. Chelsea have signed Nkunku who isn't mainly a centre-forward. He can play in multiple positions like nearly in every area of the attacking line. We know how Chelsea have used even Havertz so far. Despite Havertz isn't a centre-forward we have seen him in the position nearly all the time. Therefore the same thing would happen to Nkunku as well most probably despite he is mainly a second striker. I'm saying this thinking about the possibility that Chelsea might not sign any other striker. Nkunku wouldn't have adaptation problems as a centre-forward though because Leipzig used him like that in a few matches and he scored many goals. But if Chelsea have a plan to bring a solid centre-forward to put him beside or in front of Nkunku then Vlahovic can really be great for them as well. |

Bayern Munich undoubtedly are the best club in Germany and they possess the best players in terms of quality and delivering great performances in the country as well.
However I think Borussia Dortmund had a better chance to end Bayern Munich's dominance in the league by winning the title on the last day of the league season but wastefully threw away their best chance to win the Bundesliga in 11 years.
Yeah this was a really big waste of Dortmund. It was like Bayern Munich handed over the title chance to them so many times during the season. Especially the last time was a huge opportunity for Dortmund. But Terzic couldn't make it to the title after all that title races for a whole season. That start against Mainz was telling us so much thing. Bayern Munich can win the Bundesliga title even while they are having an inconsistent season. This is just unbelievable. Maybe we watched a thrilling title race to the end but I didn't like the ending at all. If this dominance of Bayern Munich was brought to an end finally then it would have been a really special moment. Maybe this would have even increased the level of attention to the Bundesliga. |

Currently, there are only two best possible targets for the Real Madrid with they are looking for the Mbappé but in case of having no positive signal they will go for the Harry Kane which is also currently refused by Tottenham management even in coming days we will have the good number of strikers available in market but Real Madrid mean best in business which is never been easy.
Carlos Ancelotti also have Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison in this radar as well but no green signal for these both as after exit of Karim Benzema situation is not good in the Real Madrid camp even they have few young talented players in their squad, but they are not going to take any chance which create problems for them after end of transfer window.
I don't know if any of Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison would be the best choices for Real Madrid. They are both way different kind of strikers than Benzema. You know how great Benzema has done for Real Madrid especially in the recent seasons. He isn't only a scorer. He cares about helping his teammates score as well and he had a really great bond with Vinicius because of that. I don't know whether this bond can be created between Vinicius and one of those alternative strikers. Besides I would rather see strikers similar to Benzema at Real Madrid as long as they don't sign Mbappe. The qualifying session was under serious level of rain and this even caused Q3 to end earlier. Verstappen still managed to take pole position easily by a quite big time gap with the others. Hulkenberg was the most surprising name of this session because he is going to start the race from the second position. He had a really nice lap time and the heavy rain in the last minutes helped him secure this position as well.
This session was just a nightmare for Perez on the other hand. Because he couldn't even make it to Q3. He was struggling too much in Q2 and he couldn't use his last chance for a better lap well either. I hoped to see him capturing a good position to start honestly. The curse on him still continues as he had a really horrible weekend in the previous race in Canada.

This is the most important point for him and actually every single person who is the same as him. You don't have to like your job very much to do it well. I don’t think Dortmund should be happy with what they have achieved. Having a clear chance like that to win the title and not taking that chance is absolutely disastrous. Probably if they’re going to win the Bundesliga title players who are playing in. Dortmund were going to be a little hesitant about leaving because they just won the title.
But watching what they have done at the end of the season makes me understand why Loklhon is not a long-term destination for any player.

If we don't see Mbappe joining Real Madrid this summer then I wonder who they will bring to the centre-forward position in the starting lineup. Maybe they have Rodrygo as well but he isn't actually a striker. The best formula would be to create a new trio in the attacking line with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and a striker that they can transfer soon.
Vinicius Junior has been used to having a solid partner like Benzema in the attacking line. Therefore I wonder the next striker can get along with Vinicius in a short time. It started to feel like they won't spend a lot of money on either Kane or Osimhen. There is half a month left for Pochettino to take over and have a fresh start. He has a really big responsibility to bring back the much stronger times of this team. Because this season was just a big disappointment. They couldn't finish it even in top 10 and there was a huge problem with scoring goals. 38 goals in 38 matches is just horrible statistics for Chelsea.
Pochettino should focus on solving the striker problem first. Havertz has been used as a striker for a long time but he can't give the expected performance to the team. Mourinho's future at Roma is still not completely clear. He is actually okay with staying there but he has signaled that he is open for reasonable offers at the same time. You know there have been some interest by PSG side recently but there is still no update on this situation. Maybe they want to take their time before making the right decision.
Mourinho said that he would inform the board right away if he gets an offer from PSG side. In this case I don't think Roma would be able to keep him because such offer would be much more attracting to any manager. But if Mourinho stays one more season then he will surely be expected to improve the success rate on the last year on his contract.
Until now there is no clarity about the offer from PSG but I really hope that Jose Mourinho will stay at AS Roma, if not coached by Mourinho I am sure Roma's performance will decline and mean that one of the top Serie A teams will be out of competition. resulting in slightly less attractive competition. on the other hand Jose Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world right now and the AS Roma team does not have a lot of money to be able to build this team well, Mourinho seems to have built this team with a makeshift squad and so far AS Roma under Mourinho's tutelage has been very good, I really like Mourinho. We never know who would be brought and how he would manage Roma after Mourinho. Maybe they can be managed even better than this to be a part of the Champions League finally. Mourinho is a successful manager of course. He has a really decent career and he is a respected manager. However he is still having issues with carrying this team to the Champions League. Roma have actually strengthened the squad quite nicely after the latest transfers. This squad have the capacity to make it to the Champions League normally. Despite Juventus' punishment Roma couldn't become one of the teams going to the Champions League. Roma board are still okay with keeping him for another season of course but if he can't make more improvement again then I think it would be his last season there. |

This might be the best season for Freiburg to finish in top 4 because Leverkusen made a quite bad start and started to recover really late. But Freiburg wasted this chance as well. After a fight with Union Berlin for this goal the winner was Union Berlin. Especially that loss against Union Berlin by 4-2 on the final weeks caused Freiburg to get behind more and lose their chance significantly.
I think Freiburg board must be satisfied with the work Freiburg have been doing so far anyway. They have already been not a regular in top 4 so being right behind that area is still success for them. As long as they maintain their game quality there should be no problem.
To say that Freiburg has wasted a chance this season after they have finished the Bundesliga season on rank 5 is a pretty weird statement. We should not forget where Freiburg is coming from. Historically it is a club that was relegated down to the second Bundesliga a few times already and the last time was not even that long ago. So every season where Freiburg does not have to fight to stay in the first Bundesliga over the whole 34 matchdays is a very very good one for them in my opinion. I even think that the good result this year could be dangerous for them in the next season. They have to play Europa League as an additional load so if they have a bad start into the Bundesliga, then it could be a very stressful season for them. We will see. Actually it isn't that weird because I wanted to emphasize that there was a significant chance to make it to top four for Freiburg. Because in Leverkusen's absence in this area there was a bigger chance for other teams to have a slot for the Champions League group stage. Union Berlin and Freiburg fight really hard for it but Freiburg couldn't make use of their chances efficiently on the final weeks of the season. But I wouldn't like to mean like the position they finished at isn't success. It is of course success as they can finish right behind top 4. They don't have an incredible squad in the end so this is just really good work for them. |
