The qualifying session was under serious level of rain and this even caused Q3 to end earlier. Verstappen still managed to take pole position easily by a quite big time gap with the others. Hulkenberg was the most surprising name of this session because he is going to start the race from the second position. He had a really nice lap time and the heavy rain in the last minutes helped him secure this position as well.

This session was just a nightmare for Perez on the other hand. Because he couldn't even make it to Q3. He was struggling too much in Q2 and he couldn't use his last chance for a better lap well either. I hoped to see him capturing a good position to start honestly. The curse on him still continues as he had a really horrible weekend in the previous race in Canada.

Even if Jokic isn't trolling about his comments on those words of him about liking his job it doesn't affect his game badly. This is the most important point for him and actually every single person who is the same as him. You don't have to like your job very much to do it well. Of course it makes it easier for such people to be more energetic but it is all about discipline in the end.

Nobody waits for you to like your job too much to hire you. The thing they are looking for is how skilled you are at doing it. Therefore coming back to Jokic I don't expect him to start to play worse by losing his interest in the sport in the near future at least. He is playing fully focused and hungry for championships.

There is another alternative striker for Manchester United to sign this summer. He is Goncalo Ramos and you know how skillful striker he is now. I really liked his finishing skills this season and he scored so many goals. But he is quite beneficial when it comes to help his teammates score as well by making many assists. However there is a thing that might cause the Red Devils to think multiple times before making an offer.

This thing is the amount of money Benfica demand from them. It is actually a rumour but it says they want around 90 million euros to sell him. This is a really huge amount for him while his market value is 50 million euros. They simply don't want to sell him that easy. I think the Red Devils should evaluate all the reasonable alternatives first and then decide what to do.
Manchester United seems having trouble to gets the players they want because lately they probably will withdraw to gets Kane because Tottenham aren't willing to negotiate about the price tag and actually Manchester United has other target Atalanta player Rasmus Hojlund but Atalanta only want 85 millions for this player and Manchester United feel this price is too expensive for them and indeed Goncalo Ramos could be good alternative for Manchester United even their player Bruno Fernandes said Goncalo Ramos could be good player and suitable as Manchester United centre striker

The latest news from Goncalo Ramos is Benfica will open negotiate with other teams who want him and they will not hold the player if there is a club who want him this summer but although Goncalo market value is only 50 millions but Benfica want not less than 80 millions but apparently Ten Hag still doubt whether he will officially bid for Goncalo or he will looking for another players instead of Goncalo

Yeah I have also heard about Rasmus Hojlund rumour. But I don't know if he is really the needed kind of striker now. He can surely be a promising striker but the number of goals he scored this season wasn't very impressive. It must be 16 goals in 42 games in all tournaments. He is only 20 years old of course but I see that as a risk for Manchester United if they want to trust him in every competition in the attacking line.

Instead I would have looked for Vlahovic for example. He has already proven his skills about finishing as he has scored so many goals for Fiorentina and Juventus so far. He is 23 years old as well and he might even cost less than Hojlund or around that amount. I would have decided to sign Vlahovic in this situation.

There are too many players there so Chelsea need to make reductions and Pochettino as the new manager there where not as someone involved in buying these players will choose which one he thinks will be suitable as a starting XI and also a reserve so that his team is competitive. Mason Mount has long been rumored to want to leave Chelsea due to dissatisfaction with the wages being earned, with other players still around Chelsea should be able to cover well the place Mason is likely to leave.

Indeed there is a need of making the squad better in this summer. I have talked about a need of a striker only but it isn't the only problem in this team of course. Besides they have actually signed Nkunku for the attacking line which would be a really nice improvement. But I don't know if they are planning to make do with this about striker transfer.

Apart from that I hope another thing not to happen. You know they signed Werner as well from Leipzig but there was no impressive performance left in him after coming to the Premier League. He was a great scorer in the Bundesliga. I hope the situation with Nkunku doesn't become similar to that as well.

I don’t think Dortmund should be happy with what they have achieved. Having a clear chance like that to win the title and not taking that chance is absolutely disastrous. Probably if they’re going to win the Bundesliga title players who are playing in. Dortmund were going to be a little hesitant about leaving because they just won the title.

But watching what they have done at the end of the season makes me understand why Loklhon is not a long-term destination for any player.
Real Madrid getting Jude Bellingham is great news for both the player and also Real Madrid. Interested to see how he is going to perform in a better club.

It is great news for both sides indeed. Bellingham must have already been dreaming about joining a top team like Real Madrid one day and that day has come. Real Madrid have been monitoring his performance at Dortmund for a long time and Bellingham has managed to impress them a lot. Considering he is only 19 years old this can turn into one of the most sensible deals for Real Madrid in time.

His performance there will determine the result of course. But I don't feel like he would have issues with playing for a much bigger team even in his first times. There would be some time needed for adaption maybe but as we are in the summer he has a lot of time to do this. I assume Ancelotti would be eager to put him in the starting lineup right away.

There is a new era started for Napoli with the departure of Spalletti and the arrival of Rudi Garcia. Rudi Garcia isn't a manager whose career is full of achievements maybe. But he made Lille the Ligue 1 champions in the past. If he builds up a good level of chemistry with his players at Napoli then they can still be in the title race next season as well.

But this is mostly dependent on whether they lose their most important players or not. Osimhen's price tag must be around 130-140 million euros. This is a really huge amount and even the richest teams think twice before paying this for him. If Napoli manage to keep Osimhen for next season then they can really be very competitive once again.

If we don't see Mbappe joining Real Madrid this summer then I wonder who they will bring to the centre-forward position in the starting lineup. Maybe they have Rodrygo as well but he isn't actually a striker. The best formula would be to create a new trio in the attacking line with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and a striker that they can transfer soon.

Vinicius Junior has been used to having a solid partner like Benzema in the attacking line. Therefore I wonder the next striker can get along with Vinicius in a short time. It started to feel like they won't spend a lot of money on either Kane or Osimhen. Then they had better look for Vlahovic as I think Juventus might be willing to sell him for a price around his market value which is 70 million euros.
2189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 16, 2023, 08:59:32 AM
There is half a month left for Pochettino to take over and have a fresh start. He has a really big responsibility to bring back the much stronger times of this team. Because this season was just a big disappointment. They couldn't finish it even in top 10 and there was a huge problem with scoring goals. 38 goals in 38 matches is just horrible statistics for Chelsea.

Pochettino should focus on solving the striker problem first. Havertz has been used as a striker for a long time but he can't give the expected performance to the team. It is totally normal because it isn't even his natural position. He should be used as an attacking midfielder or winger. A solid striker transfer should solve the significant portion of their problems already.

Mourinho's future at Roma is still not completely clear. He is actually okay with staying there but he has signaled that he is open for reasonable offers at the same time. You know there have been some interest by PSG side recently but there is still no update on this situation. Maybe they want to take their time before making the right decision.

Mourinho said that he would inform the board right away if he gets an offer from PSG side. In this case I don't think Roma would be able to keep him because such offer would be much more attracting to any manager. But if Mourinho stays one more season then he will surely be expected to improve the success rate on the last year on his contract.
Until now there is no clarity about the offer from PSG but I really hope that Jose Mourinho will stay at AS Roma, if not coached by Mourinho I am sure Roma's performance will decline and mean that one of the top Serie A teams will be out of competition. resulting in slightly less attractive competition.
on the other hand Jose Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world right now and the AS Roma team does not have a lot of money to be able to build this team well, Mourinho seems to have built this team with a makeshift squad and so far AS Roma under Mourinho's tutelage has been very good, I really like Mourinho.

We never know who would be brought and how he would manage Roma after Mourinho. Maybe they can be managed even better than this to be a part of the Champions League finally. Mourinho is a successful manager of course. He has a really decent career and he is a respected manager. However he is still having issues with carrying this team to the Champions League.

Roma have actually strengthened the squad quite nicely after the latest transfers. This squad have the capacity to make it to the Champions League normally. Despite Juventus' punishment Roma couldn't become one of the teams going to the Champions League. Roma board are still okay with keeping him for another season of course but if he can't make more improvement again then I think it would be his last season there.
2191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 16, 2023, 08:28:02 AM
This might be the best season for Freiburg to finish in top 4 because Leverkusen made a quite bad start and started to recover really late. But Freiburg wasted this chance as well. After a fight with Union Berlin for this goal the winner was Union Berlin. Especially that loss against Union Berlin by 4-2 on the final weeks caused Freiburg to get behind more and lose their chance significantly.

I think Freiburg board must be satisfied with the work Freiburg have been doing so far anyway. They have already been not a regular in top 4 so being right behind that area is still success for them. As long as they maintain their game quality there should be no problem.

To say that Freiburg has wasted a chance this season after they have finished the Bundesliga season on rank 5 is a pretty weird statement. We should not forget where Freiburg is coming from. Historically it is a club that was relegated down to the second Bundesliga a few times already and the last time was not even that long ago. So every season where Freiburg does not have to fight to stay in the first Bundesliga over the whole 34 matchdays is a very very good one for them in my opinion.
I even think that the good result this year could be dangerous for them in the next season. They have to play Europa League as an additional load so if they have a bad start into the Bundesliga, then it could be a very stressful season for them. We will see.

Actually it isn't that weird because I wanted to emphasize that there was a significant chance to make it to top four for Freiburg. Because in Leverkusen's absence in this area there was a bigger chance for other teams to have a slot for the Champions League group stage. Union Berlin and Freiburg fight really hard for it but Freiburg couldn't make use of their chances efficiently on the final weeks of the season.

But I wouldn't like to mean like the position they finished at isn't success. It is of course success as they can finish right behind top 4. They don't have an incredible squad in the end so this is just really good work for them.

Some news sources started to say that Manchester United aren't interested in Harry Kane anymore. Because they find his cost too much to bring to the team. Actually Manchester United have newly been bought by a Sheikh so they would have a huge transfer budget to make their signings. But it looks like it isn't about affording him now.

They must be seeing it not very sensible to do. He is going to be 30 years old by the end of July so not every big team would be eager to spend 100+ million euros for him from now on. Of course he can still be productive for many more years but it is still a risk to take.
There are rumors about Mbappe maybe because Manchester United are starting to get serious about getting the French player, but has the transfer of ownership been carried out properly? because actually the issue about Man United is an issue about the owner

I don't know whether Manchester United can sign Mbappe in case there is an opportunity this summer. Because they wouldn't be the only team interested in him. Real Madrid would surely get into this race right away as they have been monitoring Mbappe for a long while. They are also in need of a striker now as this need has got bigger as of Benzema's departure.

Manchester United have got way richer than before certainly. But as long as Real Madrid present the same conditions on his contract I don't think Mbappe's choice would be the Red Devils. Because they haven't been as successful as Real Madrid in the recent years before anything else. Mbappe must be hungry for winning a Champions League title.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: June 15, 2023, 11:41:01 PM
There is still no action taken about Galtier by PSG. This season can't be counted as successful for him no matter how much he says that it was a good one. Winning the Ligue 1 title is an easy peasy achievement for PSG with a huge strength gap like this with the other teams. As long as they can't be competitive for the Champions League title and win it there is nothing that much admirable.

Maybe PSG haven't made up their mind about Mourinho yet and they are looking into some other candidates as well. But the earlier they finish the rumours about this manager change topic the better for them. While PSG are on the verge of losing Mbappe as well they need to make their choices more carefully from now on. Otherwise the Champions League title will be only in their dreams.

Newcastle are also rumoured to be after Neymar these days by the way. Actually they might be able to more convincing to him as they have joined the Champions League. But Neymar would ask for some guarantees I assume. He might ask for a solid improvement in like nearly every area of their lineup. I wouldn't be surprised with such demand because Newcastle really need it to maintain consistency.

Newcastle are a very rich team now you know so I'm expecting them to build a squad that can do well not only in the Premier League but also the Champions League. If they build such squad then the only worry could be the chemistry among players. As long as they have a solid chemistry they should be good to go.
2195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 15, 2023, 11:16:07 PM
PSG might even be evaluating the possibility of selling him before Mbappe has six months left on his contract. I say this depending on what the news says about PSG. It looks like PSG aren't willing to release Mbappe for free just like that. But the only way to prevent this is to sell him as early as possible. But this time they will have to find a replacement for him immediately.

Real Madrid wouldn't even want to make an offer already now to not pay any transfer fee after hearing about Mbappe's words. Mbappe has clearly stated that he won't extend his contract any longer so there is only one year left. Real Madrid should be able to make a good striker signing for next season and just go on now.
I haven't heard anything about Real Madrid's interest in Mbappe, maybe they don't want to sign him anymore, or Real Madrid are moving in silence. That happened because it is possible that Real Madrid have a serious figure for them to sign so that they no longer need Mbappe in their squad.
If Real Madrid gives up its intention to bring Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu, I think it will be a big regret that Mbappe will get. How could it not be, Real Madrid was his dream club, and when the opportunity came he missed it, and now that he intends to leave Paris Saint Germain Real Madrid no longer want him (if that's the case).

I don't agree with you that Real Madrid don't need Mbappe now. Because they have newly lost Benzema to Al Ittihad so they need to bring a new striker before the new season starts. If PSG give a signal like they will sell Mbappe this summer then Real Madrid would surely be in line to sign him right away. For now they are just waiting patiently to see how things will go.

As I said if they can't sign Mbappe now there is still no problem. There are many striker alternatives in the market now to fill the space in the lineup for next season. I don't know how much money they are eager to spend though because I think they might plan to allocate as much money as possible for Mbappe's demands and a possible transfer fee as a plus.

I think there are enough good drivers there that given a great car can fight Verstappen at least in the same level of performance of Hamilton and I would keep in this list,Leclerc,Sainz,Russell,Alonso and Perez, they just don't have a winning car except the case of Perez as I don't know why he must suffer the complex of inferiority against Verstappen, probably because the team does not support him as much as they do with Verstappen.

Nevertheless we need a team capable of performing not the same as Redbull, even a bit less but to be near them and it is up to the drivers then to show their skills in beating Redbull even with not the best car,we had the McLaren 1998-2000 era where they beat Ferrari even being the second best car thanks to Mikka Hakkinen.

Yeah Perez has the same car with Verstappen according to Red Bull's words. But still he can't be competitive enough in this rivalry. Of course Red Bull care about Verstappen more and this is a reason indeed. Because there is a hierarchy in the team. The drivers are not seen equal like it is at Ferrari. Apart from that Perez has started to make individual mistakes as well recently and this also caused the gap to get even bigger in the championship.

For example the simple mistake in Monaco qualifying session.

The Red Bull automobile's formidable prowess has certainly forced Mercedes into a chase. Nonetheless, let's remember the multitude of talents lining the grid, which due to a lack of sufficiently equipped vehicles, remain underexplored. Ponder this, with an optimum automobile, Alonso, Perez, and others could stand neck-and-neck with Verstappen. Hamilton and Verstappen are undoubtedly proficient drivers, yet we shouldn't overlook other skilled contenders. Much like a prudently biding pack of wolves, they merely require the right juncture to leap into action! Is the prospect of a sequel to the Hamilton versus Verstappen duel truly desirable?

Of course I don't intend to overlook the other very skilled drivers. We never know what they are capable of until having a strong car like Verstappen has now. But I just wanted to evaluate the situation considering the past of the sport. Hamilton and Verstappen names have been the ones ahead of the others in the recent years.

Alonso is doing really great with Aston Martin and I would really like to see Perez being replaced with Alonso honestly. Because Perez is more prone to make simple mistakes considering the recent times.

I find it very remarkable that so many players from Bayern Munich are unhappy and want to change. I can not remember that it was the case after a season in the last few years.
Ans I am curious about the situation between Neuer and Yann Sommer. Sommer wants still to be the number 1. But if Neuer is fit he will be number 1 again. So far Sommer has also not said whether he wants to leave the club or not.

When Neuer returns he would surely want to be in the starting eleven as usual. If he doesn't get worse than before after this lasting injury it is really difficult for Sommer to take the shirt from him. Sommer would play in cup games the most in normal conditions in that case. As we all know how solid goalkeeper Neuer stilll is I don't think he would have issues with having the same quality again.

There is Ulreich too as a backup goalkeeper so I don't think Bayern Munich would make it an issue if Sommer decides to leave in this situation.

Indeed Manchester United were a failure to me. Of course they faced the king of the Europa League on paper. However Sevilla were having their vulnerable times back then so Manchester United should have finished them off in Old Trafford. But Sevilla were really lucky in the last moments of that game and got a draw somehow.

And as of the second leg Sevilla started a really solid run which brought even the title to them at the end. Did Sevilla deserve the title at the end? My answer would be yes to that. Even though having big difficulties in general of the season they still found a way out in the Europa League after facing Manchester United. This time period is a product of hard work.
