There are hundreds of people using this, there is nothing wrong with the client. As test just then I downloaded the Windows client onto one of my mining machines from the official site worldcoin.in and launched it, took about 2min to find 4 active connections and it's happily downloaded the block chain now. I don't have a .conf file

Magnet is having the exact same problem as me, read the others posts on this page.

It working fine for you doesn't mean there is nothing wrong, use your brain.

Perhaps if you used your brain it the client might work for your too.

My brain is fine, learn how to speak and come back to me.

Client doesn't connect, tried everything in the book.
With addnodes, port forwarded, no addnodes, cleared it all, etc...

"Out of sync" coin would be a better name.

Yup. Same here. Installed it on two different machines, added nodes, open ports everything... WONT SYNC.

Fail coin.

Guys chill and wait a while, it seems WDC QT client random has connection to the network or not.

Well a lesson learnt for me, I lost 5 WDC to BitGrenade by Vipah, because I bought a grenade but its waiting for comfirmation timer timed out just before I got the needed comfirms. Sad(((

I had the client open for a good 6 hours yesterday evening and didn't get a single connection. Something is not right. See my post above.

works fine here

When you want a coin to gain popularity, client should work out of the box.
I have a client for every shit-/scamcoin available on my rig and they all get 8 or more connections, except for "WorldCoin"...

Something is not right with the windows qt build. I've added nodes in the .conf file and I've added nodes via the command line but when I check the error log all I see is it trying the same 3 default ip addresses over and over, not any of the ip address nodes I've added manually.

Can someone give me fresh nodes to try for worldcoin as I can't get any connections.

It's the same on my laptop too.
Neither can I. A valid node IP would be great. Anyone?

Anyone?

Did you deleted the "conf" file? Ask support, that was the answer they gave me. I have 8 conections now.
Before that it was moving betwen 0 and 1 or 2.

My qt build from the first page didn't even come with a .conf file in it.

Can someone please give me and de_xt a valid node IP? Then we can add it using the addnode command. You can bet there are other people having this same problem

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204894.msg2177180#msg2177180

I'm up and running, mining at wdc.dontmine.me I hope this helps.

Thanks very much, but still at zero connections.

I never had a conf file set up so I have nothing to delete. Do you have any recent nodes I could add manually now?

If you've never been able to connect the wallet then maybe you need to open the ports it uses on your router?   I believe its 11082 or 11081 or both, I have both open and it works for me.

If however you've been able to connect before and can't now I don't know what your issue would be outside of the conf file fix mentioned earlier sorry.  Embarrassed

Yeah I gave it the firewall permissions when I installed it  Undecided

This didn't happen with Yac, Ftc, Ltc, Btb etc...

I can't get any connections with my client, is there anything I can do?  Huh

No problem with my clients for other coins

This is my log file:

trying connection 214.58.27.204:11081 lastseen=171.3hrs
connection timeout

I had the same issue, then noticed the OP had updated with a fix.

For anyone having connection issues, go into your .conf file and delete the addnodes they are no longer needed since the network is healthy, and will delay your sync.

I just deleted the whole conf file since I was no longer solo mining, wallet connects quickly now.

I am buying at 2.3 LTC per 100 WorldCoin. Large amounts preferred.

Please message me to arrange a trade. I've done many trades in the last month all have been successful.
2356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone still mining CoiledCoin on: May 17, 2013, 07:53:11 PM
I downloaded the client but see 0 active connections...

Looked like this one had some promise until it was killed by a 51% attack
2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What would be a good server host to run an exchange on? on: May 17, 2013, 06:56:09 PM
Never use VPS to run bitcoin exchange or mining pool. Never. If you do, prepare to cover the losses from attacks from your own pocket. Buy your own hardware, or rent a dedicated server without access through any kind of centralized control panel.

Could you recommend any sites to rent a dedicated server from? They would have to be a big player in the market so I have confidence in them.

Go for any good hosting site but make sure to use some kind of reverse proxy or cloudflare etc.
That gives extra protection to your site.

some suggestions

prq.se
edis.at

Stay away from
santrex
ovh
leaseweb

Thanks for recommending some names but both:

prq.se
edis.at

are non-english and I only speak english unfortunately.

Add BitBar please. It's been on bter.com for a couple of weeks and it's on coinchoose.com  Smiley
2359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / What would be a good server host to run an exchange on? on: May 17, 2013, 06:24:05 PM
I was looking at Amazon Web Services recently but they are based in the US - maybe not a good idea following what happened with mtgox.

I then looked at Linode as they have a pretty solid reputation, but I am concerned with the security issues they have had (bitcoinica lost all their funds because someone hacked the actual Linode admin panel, and I am still seeing security issues on their news in 2013).

Does anyone have any advice? I have what I think is a novel idea for an exchange and want to try and get a toy hobby project up and running... but I will choose a server with good ram so it handle a surge in traffic.
2360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to PPC? on: May 17, 2013, 11:55:37 AM
PPC price is falling down! From stable 0.0022 highrise to 0.00255, then fallen down to 0.0018.... Why? What is your idea? Lets talk about it! Smiley

This was down to a single dump at 0.0022 which took the price to the 0.0018 range. More dumps then followed.

Now it looks like people have been bailing out.

My take on the situation is that these dumps were due to people getting pissed off at the rampant manipulation that goes on over at BTC-e.

Maybe it was funds taken during the vircurex hack/s.

It wasn't

Not saying you are wrong but how could you possibly know what the hackers are doing with the funds they stole from vircurex?
