What is your plan for obtaining the necessary money transmission licenses required to operate a USD/Crypto exchange legally? This is normally a long and very expensive process. The FinCen guidance also clearly states even exchanges operating outside of the US still have to abide by US law if they serve US customers.
Just interested whether you are doing this seriously or you are just going to chance it and run the risk of a long time in prison.
We are very much going to do this legally and abide by all US laws. We have an attorney looking into all this as we speak and we are spending much time researching it ourselves. We have the exchange planned out and the development is not overly complicated. The biggest hurdle will be getting the appropriate licenses. This is why we have decided to this in phases. We will not support any money laundering, drug trafficking or other illegal activities. We plan on being very open and cooperating with federal authorities here in the US. Smart man. Or woman. I assume you're a man. Good luck in your venture!

No top coins get pumped when Bitcoin nosedives. That's just not how crypto works as we know it.
Don't take my word for it, check coincapmarket everytime Bitcoin gets bad news (or perceived bad news). Sea of red figures.
However, I wasn't expecting much of a rise from Vircurex. We already have an established exchange, bter, trading nxt. A second exchange of similar size isn't going to cause much hype. Next exchange pump comes from Cryptsy. Then btce.com.

Take a deep breath. If you're one of the true long-term supporters as you claim then a little up and down action the last couple days shouldn't bother you. You should be more focused on the big picture. You're out of your mind if you think a handful of pump and dump small timers are going to have any kind of mass effect on this coin. Just relax a little bit and go take a nap, by the time you get back it will have stabled out a bit.
True DOGE supporters lol. You're preaching to about 5% of DOGE holders. The rest are just riding the pump and dump and are switching loyalty back to the old favourites now the bubble is popping. Saw it happen with Feathercoin. Gonna be even worse with DOGE. They don't even have active developers or a plan for the future.

I doubt this is going on. Last night, bter was at large premiums to dgex. Also, bter has more volume than dgex now.
James
I noticed you guys getting technical and just had to jump in... we already had a failed test of 0.00013... if you guys see it breaking 0.0001 on the downside... be prepared to see rates as low as when NXT was first listed in Bter... if not lower. On the flipside... it breaks 0.00013... and we are all happy campers! I don't see how .00013 is any special price other than lucky 13. No significant time was spent at that price, the key prices are alltime high .00015 to .00016 and .0001 We both agree that if it goes below .0001, then we could easily see it back to .0006, but it is hovering around .000125 now due to strong CNY support. A lot of buy orders at .5 CNY/NXT and above, so <.0001 would require large scale selling of NXT/CNY, but there is nobody with a lot of NXT at prices above .000125 A lot of the near term price will depend on successful launch of new client next week. If that is late, then NXT will become available at bargain prices again. Even if it comes out on time, we will still see a selloff when it is released. buy the rumor, sell the news. James Interesting perspectives. I stand by my original opinion weeks back that NXT will prove to be one of the most volatile cryptos ever in price. I wouldn't even like to try and guess where we will be in 2 weeks time. But that is so exciting. Long term I see only moons and rockets. What's scary is that the trading volume is so high on exchanges like dgex and bter. Once NXT goes on Cryptsy I see the price going stratospheric. The pace of development on this project is a spectacle in itself. We've put projects like Mastercoin to shame with our agile development and clever use of bounties. I go away from this thread for two days and come back and I can't believe the progress and what I am reading.

Besides, from a logical point of view a person who owns a lot of NXT deserves to have "more of a say" in any voting mechanism. Can you logically elaborate on that ?? It sounds completely irrational and feudal to me. so 10th Century.. Why does a whale have more saying than a tuna? Are they not swimming in the same waters? Yes my explanation is in the part of my sentence you cut off: Besides, from a logical point of view a person who owns a lot of NXT deserves to have "more of a say" in any voting mechanism since the outcome will affect his holding more than someone who owns 100NXT. That is not an explanation, that is your point of view. please explain why does a bigger wallet has to have more saying than a small wallet. No it's your point of view that it's not explanation. It's a fact that a person who owns more NXT gets affected more by any decision regarding NXT. If the decision has a positive outcome the person with more NXT will gain more from the decision. If the decision has a negative outcome on NXT value, the person with more NXT loses more. I suggest debating with actual logic to make your argument rather than dismissing things without discussion.

+1 we just have to accept that wealthier individuals are going to have more voting power. dont try to fight it. that issue doesnt need to be taken into consideration by the person making the voting system. it needs to be taken in to consideration by the person creating the ballots.
Why so pessimistic? What if we add some sort of captcha that will make sure one person can't vote a ridiculous number of times? With growing user base it will make less and less sense to try and rig just few more votes. It's no different than bitcoin where someone who has a ton of mining power has more of a vote. Besides, from a logical point of view a person who owns a lot of NXT deserves to have "more of a say" in any voting mechanism since the outcome will affect his holding more than someone who owns 100NXT. People seem to forget that. But it's understandable since intuitively it might seem undemocratic.
