** I'd like to ask Fuserleer if he's fixed the *bug* whereby his 2 hatchers receive at least 10x more earnings that everyone else? The first time someone posted a chart of these earnings, there were 2 which had scores of approximately 300 each. The rest ranged from 30 to 0. Dan admitted the first was his. Then it was pointed out that the second one had "fuser" in the address (a vanity address). Dan claimed this wasn't his and made a show of asking for the private key from whoever it belonged to (no one came forward). This was supposedly a random event, coincidentally happening the first time anyone posted the charts.
What Dan failed to remember is that he had already, a few weeks previously, posted a screenshot of his vanity address with the word "fuser" in it.
This is where 50% of all gains will go, to these hatchers...
Dan should make an official statement on this asap.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Quark is a loser in 2014, Doge is a winner, and how this relates to Vertcoin

Vertcoin is a smart bet.
Anytime people complain about Litecoin ASICs people will mention vertcoin, in the same way Litecoin got a boost from Bitcoin ASICs,
Crucially, Vertcoin is ASIC resistant whilst still being accessible to GPU miners. And of course it has the Kimoto gravity well difficulty adjustment.
I'm a Litecoin holder and supporter but they are too scared to make the necessary adjustments to Litecoin that the Litecoin community has voted for time and time again. This is why Vertcoin is gaining traction.

The best way to market this coin is to make sure we mention it whenever we see a discussion about Litecoin ASICs anywhere (whether it's here, on r/litecoin, the litecoin forums etc).
When people complain about the Litecoin ASICs are coming, tell them about vertcoin! Make it clear it's GPU friendly and it's based off scrypt just like litecoin.
If we market this correctly I see huge growth potential. We want Vertcoin as the the default "go-to" coin for disgruntled Litecoiners. Whenever Litecoin ASICs get mentioned, we want Vertcoin to be the first coin that gets mentioned next.
It would be great to have a dedicated Media/PR page on the coin website - hopefully this is something the guy/gal who is leading the PR campaign can organise, as well as press releases, perhaps some "soundbites" that non techies like me can use to talk about and spread the news about the coin? Well me personally I am thinking of spending a few hundred dollars on an advertising campaign. Specifically so we get the message across that Vertcoin is here and ready to accomodate the Litecoin miners who want a scrypt coin which is truly asic resistant whilst still being GPU friendly. I want to create a separate topic for this, would you guys think this announcements subforum section is appropriate? I will be collecting ideas exactly how to execute the campaign. Hopefully others will chip in with some donations but either way if it's just me it will still be a few hundred dollars worth of advertising. To elaborate on this I've decided am going to run some advertising to promote Vertcoin on reddit. I'm going to run my ideas past the reddit/r/vertcoin community tomorrow.

this thread is all good and valid, but aren't you the guy who took 20 BTC in donations for a primecoin gpu miner and never delivered?
edit: i don't mean it to be accusatory sounding, but there was a guy who took a bunch of donations for a primecoin miner an dissapeared awhile. i was thinking it was the same screen name as yours but i could be wrong, and if so i'm sorry.
That is someone else on here, no idea why you think that is connected to me. Is it really too much effort to check your facts first before writing stupid shit like that? I guess I'm speaking to the guy who couldn't be arsed to protect his exchange server with basic security, so it makes sense.

Definite buy.
The interesting thing with NXT is the community attitude here reminds of the attitude towards Litecoin when it was worth less than 10 cents. NXT is severely undervalued. Anyone who disagrees with me quote my post and revisit this in a year. I'm going to be bumping up my year old topics on peercoin and litecoin soon.

emunie and etherium update:
Very active times in the next gen crypto space. I know laws aren't supposed to apply in crytoland, but crypto is getting big enough that it is overlapping the real world
Rumours of the incorporation of emunie seem to be fully confirmed. They are a UK company now, subject to all the laws of her Majesty. Probably a very wise move, considering all the potential liability a large scale IPO with uncertain results could incur. By incorporating, Dan has the ability to create golden parachutes, large salaries, dividends, etc. Even long time fanboys of emunie are upset. Not sure of percentage ownership, but my guess is vast majority is owned by Dan. Shrewd financial operator, with dubious ability to predict crypto markets as evidenced by BCNext's hat.
This move to being fully incorporated makes emunie into Ripple 2.0! Since emunie won't have fiat gateways or external exchanges, the big impact will be in ease of use and raising the bar as to what people expect. I urge all client developers to study the emunie beta (if you can download it) to make sure we are doing all we can in the usability side. From what I have heard emunie has an excellent GUI and we can't ignore any excellence regardless of where it is.
If anybody knows of any actual functionality that NXT (of 2 months from now) lacks in comparison to emunie, please let me know so I can make sure we fill the gap.
On the etherium side, they actually listened to negative feedback on their IPO structure and pulled the IPO. Not sure if what they come back with will be simpler or more complicated, but they announced a testnet release. If anybody has any actual experience with their testnet please post what relevant things etherium has or could have.
We now have the funds to proactively outdo ALL the competition. As the leading second gen crypto, as long as we defend against competitors, we win. Oh, TF and 1000TPS makes us win too, but I just want to win even without that. Better to win by 1000 kilometers than by just a kilometer.
James
Nice write up. Don't forget eMunie is also highly inflationary, new eMu is created whenever there is demand for more eMu from buyers. No white paper yet either describing the details of how anything works. And it will remain closed source for a long time.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs Involved in project Ethereum... ARE YOU F... KIDDING ME

So just cuz someone worked for Goldman Sachs at one point in his life, he's never allowed to get into crypto and we should boycott any crypto projects from him?
Probably 75% (i don't know, just guessing) of people who are educated about finance and economics have worked for or currently are employed by big finance companies.
I don't see what the big deal here is, Unless the employee in question was someone who fucked people over through immoral means.
Goldman Sachs is the most famous investment bank in the world and thus synonymous with the greed, corruption, excess that is connected with investment banking culture. There are tons of big finance companies that are neither investment banks nor have Sachs reputation. An even if he was from an investment bank I doubt this reaction would occur if it was eg bnp paribus. I can definitely see where OP is coming from.
