2501  Economy / Gambling / Re: KYC casino or no-KYC casino, but with no bonuses/no cashback? on: July 17, 2022, 06:21:36 PM
If you were given a choice, would you play regularly in a cryptocurrency casino WITH KYC, and with added benefits like first deposit/welcome bonuses and cashbacks?

Or would you like to play regularly in a casino, WITHOUT KYC, BUT also without the welcome bonuses, cashbacks and other extra rewards?

The welcome bonuses, cashbacks and other extra rewards are all marketing tactics which in the end amount to nothing but peanuts. And even IF you gather all those tiny rewards for years and years, the amount of money you will lose thanks to you being in a gambling atmosphere longer, will heavily outweigh those bonuses and rewards. There is no such thing as a free lunch and people should not be naive enough to believe the opposite.

So obviously I am all for no kyc casinos, that goes without saying. However the downside is that a no kyc casino might be hard to legally persue, should they rugpull and escape with your funds.
2502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 16, 2022, 09:17:30 PM
Why ban it? Anything that seems risky and dangerous needs to banned? Lets ban knives and forks and even drinking anything besides water. In fact, lets ban everything.

Gambling is fun. To me, its just an activity to have fun. Its fun because its risky. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose but you need to always understand that no matter what happens, its not a career and its not a lifestyle. Of course there are people who take it too far and become addicted and irresponsible but just because a few such people exist does not mean everyone should have to sacrifice their own freedom just to protect those few.

2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUD Has Finally Taken Its Toll on Me on: July 16, 2022, 06:38:20 PM
Three weeks ago, I liquidated 10k from my stock portfolio into my bank account. My plan was to dump it into Bitcoin as soon as it dipped under 17k. But now, for the first time since I got into crypto investing in 2017, I'm having major doubts.

I'm beginning to wonder whether Bitcoin has a long-term future, now that much of the world's nations are caught up in this 'climate' hysteria, and want to ban proof-of-work protocols, like Bitcoin, which they claim is harmful to the environment.

For example, the EU recently held a vote to ban proof-of-work mining across member nations*. Thankfully, the vote failed, but this wasn't the first time they attempted it, and I don't think it'll be the last. Eventually, as younger and more 'progressive' individuals enter positions of political power in Europe, my guess is that they'll succeed. And, once they do, the other chimpanzees in countries around the world will follow them, potentially causing the demise of our beloved cryptocurrency.

Thoughts?

*sigh*

Oh buddy, you really screwed yourself over with this. I understand that investing in something as volatile and new as crypto is a scary game. We all went through those same fears until we grew experienced enough to understand the potential of Bitcoin.

What you did was give the whales your coins at a very cheap price. They are going to be very happy when those coins triple, quadruple in their value within a relatively short time frame.

Instead of letting yourself get spooked you should have just invested and walked away for a few years instead of letting yourself fall into doubt.
2504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AML - Anti Money Laundering on: July 15, 2022, 06:01:20 PM
Has anyone had their cryptocurrency address frozen on exchange due to AML high risk positive after some transaction from address that is black-listed?

There have been multiple such cases. Not only because of AML high risk positive after an transaction from some address that is black-listed, but it can be for any reason the exchange wants it to be. They can make up literally any reason and call it suspicious. Using a VPN? Suspicious. Having too much money? Suspicious.

If they want to, they can freeze your funds and nobody should be naive enough to think it won't happen to them.

Remember: not your keys, not your coins. Do not store funds on a third party wallet which someone else has access to. You will regret it.
2505  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The google search results for "1XBit Review" are quite shocking... on: July 15, 2022, 04:18:47 PM
This thread is the exact reason why you never trust any kind of review websites for anything. Especially not for crypto or online gambling websites. People used to look on review sites for ICOs, and then lose all their money on scams and rug pulls. So what did we learn?

These review websites have a business model, which is to positively review ANYTHING as long as they are paid enough money.

This is not how you should be doing your research on whether or not a website is legit and upstanding. I think anyone should realise by now what it means to ignore red flags and trust in the greedy.

2507  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: duelbits.com scam me 16K USD with big proof on: July 15, 2022, 10:39:39 AM
Looks like to me that duelbits is having trouble with processing his request on time. Although who knows, they may be stalling for other reasons. I would not go as far as to call this an attempt at scamming just yet.

Seeing as duelbits has been relatively trustworthy in the past and I myself have not heard any similiar complaints within the same timeframe as during OP'S claims that they scammed him, I would not panic just yet.

Wait a bit longer. If nothing happens, you should open a scam accusation topic in the scam accusations subforum of Bitcointalk. You might get a better investigation there.
2508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Telegram Group and new investment plattform on: July 15, 2022, 09:54:50 AM
Hi.

I just was invited to a telegram group which has more than 300 members and one guy is something like the admin / guru.

He sends daily trading signals mostly based on crypto AIC. Therefore he recommends a new platform called tilicoin.com. He also offers 1:1 trading coaching. He takes 10% of the profits and after several days of group signal trading I made some good profits. Unleveraged profits are not as high (1-2%).

I checked in with some hundred dollars of gaming money  but for 1:1 coaching he wants to increase the money.

I also checked withdrawal one time to be sure that it's possible and not a fake. It did work  also for a bigger amount.

So guys... what is your opinion regarding this gambling case?  Roll Eyes
Does anyone here you this platform?

Best regards

Its 100% a scam and I would not advise you or anyone else to join into such groups. Especially on Telegram. The same goes for "crypto influencers" who rent out some expensive car, shoot a few videos with it and then tell people to buy their courses.

These people have no idea what they are doing and if you listen to them you will lose all your money, either to them or by trading on "signals".

Learn how to trade yourself and stop following people who self proclaim themselves to be successful. Especially if they are trying to sell you something.

You should see the red flags yourself.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Crypto Standard ? on: July 14, 2022, 10:17:27 PM
Shouldn't all crypto be backed by bitcoin ?
How could a "Bitcoin Standard" emerge?  For example, if you could pay for food service etc everywhere with bitcoin, would that be enough to essentially drive bitcoin as a backing standard ?

If we follow your idea then I don't think we need another cryptocurrency.  Why do we need extra effort to create another cryptocurrency when Bitcoin can already do its purpose?

I would not be as quick to judge on this. Innovation is good. Its obviously the driving force behind the new generation of money technology, aka "Bitcoin".

One day there might be a better alternative cryptocurrency alternative to Bitcoin and us devoted Bitcoiners will have a hard time accepting that fact.

However that day has not come yet. Every altcoin is nothing but a cheap imitation or a unrequired derivation of Bitcoin and/or the blockchain technology behind it and is therefore unnecessary. But I am sure a few people would disagree with me on that. Especially since we can't really do some things like DeFI or complex smart contracts with Bitcoin.

But you are correct in assuming that Bitcoin is currently fullfilling its purpose of being an alternative to the current corrupt and government controlled monetary system. Everything else is just extra.
2510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 14, 2022, 09:47:00 PM
It would not surprise me all that much if the hardware wallet rise in demand came from the extremely painful lessons some people have made in the past few weeks and months regarding the all important law of "not your keys, not your coins". I am of course talking about fiascos like the Celcius withdrawal freezing and bankruptcy declaration. People need to understand that only they are responsible for their money, nobody else.

Although I would be careful with new scams and hacks regarding hardware wallets bought from third partys in the coming months. I would not trust to buy a hardware wallet unless its directly from the source or a reputable vendor.

2512  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: July 14, 2022, 12:36:21 PM
~
When I gave up was one one review site rated 1xbit so high. It was then I became convinced about the biaseness and shady deals that are done behind the scene to deceive us.

Review sites are being used as a marketing tool by casino owners, as we know, newbies always use review websites before using that. And when they sees good ratings then people agrees to use the website, this is the reason why scam like 1xbit are still in the market. Because they keep their good rating on the review website and newbies visit their website to gamble, and then fall into scam.

I personally do not trust any review website and always look at  forum profile to make sure they have no negative feedbacks

Not only that but review sites (or at least most review sites that I know of) are basically scams which offer to give glowing reviews in exchange of money to some online gambling casino they have never even heard of, researched or tried out. This includes scam casinos that aren't actually casinos. Although they are a bit more careful about that due to the fact that in some cases they can be held legally accountable.

Still, either way, review sites are the worst. I would not trust them either. Some people are gullible and believe everything they read there, though. What a sad way to lose money.

Best thing you could do is do your own research.
2513  Economy / Services / Re: Poker Courses For Sale on: July 14, 2022, 12:23:17 PM
I am selling poker courses at a fraction of their original price: Upswing, BTS, RunItOnce etc. With each course you can see a free preview first.

As a poker player myself I can also provide some help on how to get started and start crushing the micros for free. If you are interested in more in-depth coaching, we can also work something out.

For more information or the course list please send me a PM.

Email: pokercourses@protonmail.com

Does anyone really need to pay for poker courses? All anyone really needs is a tutorial, which is free and can be found on youtube, even. Or if you prefer a written version, almost every casino has a written explaination of the rules of each game.

Furthermore there are "practice casinos" where you can play without betting real money. So what exactly are you offering in exchange for money? Your services seem all free on the internet? Why should someone pay?

What extra services are you offering for our money?

Also as a new member of this forum I doubt many people will trust you so I hope you don't expect upfront payment.

2516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It looks like the bad guys have struck again on: July 13, 2022, 07:10:13 PM
phishing attacks on liquidity providers? I wonder how exactly the phishers were able to determine who the liquidity providers were? Or is it just on random phishing with a fake website? It seems like something which most serious DeFI should be able to easily avoid and warn their Liquidity Providers against, ahead of time.

In fact, that so much money was stolen is testament to the absurd security ignorance which some DeFI platforms choose to not care about until its too late.

Hopefully we will see some responsibility and some new measures implemented to avoid something like this happening again.
2517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more uses to deposit. on: July 13, 2022, 05:42:20 PM
This post is based on the article published on the source: Source

The source explores how around 49% of the users would deposit more money based on better withdrawal options. Apparently, the survey conducted by US firms explored various areas that stands really important for people.

The key import things in there were :
1. Choice
2. Experience
3. Privacy
4. Preference

They explored a new idea where having a player, having a traffic doesn't necessarily mean that the site got a new player, they generally didn't account it for until and unless they have made a ' Deposit '

Which necessarily improved when the Gambling platforms had more withdrawal options, things Like: PayPal, Debit Card, Online Gambling, Cash app, Gift card etc. Having the freedom of having so many options improved the players willing to deposit money by almost 49%!!

This is certainly something that the Gambling companies do have to look into since this will go long way, thus changes needs to be made, What do you think, how important this option is for you?

It would make sense that the freedom of having more options where their money goes does seem to give people a certain reassurance that their money will not be stuck in some endless loop of broken systems and maintenance on said broken systems.

But that does really make you question the very point of having a crypto gambling casino in the first place. And furthermore with more choices for withdrawal and or deposits, the casinos have more regulations that they have to watch out for. Especially since it moves away from crypto towards fiat. (Which is a step backwards if you ask me)

People need the feeling of reassurance. I wonder if that can be achieved some other way.
2518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 13, 2022, 05:25:32 PM
Gambling is fun. And it doesn't matter whether you go to a land-based casino to bet or an online casino. When we bet, we celebrate our wins and count our losses. According to this study, the researchers found that gamblers are satisfied with small wins and will tolerate small losses but when they hit the threshold of loss, they will not play anymore.  I will attempt to define threshold of loss as regards gambling as the minimum intensity at which a gambler can no longer tolerate a loss.

My question is, can you remember a time when you reached your threshold of loss while gambling?

I think for most people, they go into the gambling world without a plan or a strategy and obviously without a threshold. They just keep on gambling until all the money they own (or money that they have brought with them) is completely and utterly lost.

I would say that most think with the mentality which is that "If I can win back my loss, everything will be ok again. I just need to double down on my bet and risk everything". This is not only dangerous but foolish. But it is within human nature so I don't think anyone can be made to blame.

Best thing to do is to decide the threshold of loss beforehand and have enough discipline to leave the gambling site once you have reached it.
2519  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 12, 2022, 06:57:18 PM
Everyone knows that they need to be disciplined in gambling and do not have to be emotional while doing gamble. However, once we start to gamble, we forget everything, and our only focus is limited to only earning quick money. Greediness makes us lose in gambling because it's the greed due to which gamblers will lose their money and never win anything substantial from gambling.
For those who think that there is something wrong with the way they play, yes they are the ones that needs to be checked by a psychiatrist if ever controlling the habit by themselves seems impossible but for those who are still normal, I think it's alright to become emotional as we are just a human, we are not robots which doesn't feel anything whatever the outcomes we get although in gambling we have those auto bet function and also those gambling bots, they might help us dealing with our emotions when gambling.

It's not greed that makes us lose in gambling but it was its difficulty which is set to the highest possible level tho it's still possible to win but we should stop because if we become greedy then these wins are going to turn into losses.

I think, although this would probably seem as a very outrageous idea in the gambling community, that every single person who wishes to gamble must be cleared by a psychologist/psychiatrist before they are even allowed near gambling. This would serve to filter out the already mentally unstable from the mentally healthy and would ensure that no gambling casinos can make money by exploiting the already fragile minds of people who are suffering mental illnesses.

We do not let gambling casinos exploit children, so why do we let them exploit the mentally ill?

Nobody seems to care.
2520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 12, 2022, 02:21:40 PM
Next to Nietes and Manny Pacquiao as well as Donaire, these are the only three boxers from the Philippines to have won world titles in four divisions. I am enthusiastically cheering for Donnie Nietes as the winner here.

But then again Nietes has been out of the ring for 2019 and 2020 and his age is no secret. I really do wonder if he has any energy left in him to beat Kazuto as he currently is.

The age difference is only 7 years but that might be the leading factor in what is to come. I am hoping that Donnie Nietes does not disappoint, although history shows that he never has, just yet.

Either way, excited for the fight!
