1581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 17, 2023, 04:19:04 PM
We'll see that after the fight, but getting into the top 20 is already a big achievement for Jake Paul, compared to the top 10 in the Cruiserweight he is more popular and getting paid more than all the other ranking Cruiserweight contenders, after he got his rank, things will be tougher for Jake Paul he cannot go back fighting old MMA fighters
he needs to level up and fight boxers that are close to his rank.
He will shock the World if he landed in the top 5 and the Cruiserweight Champions might take him seriously, that's part of his dream, its a cinderella story for Jake Paul, imagine he brought something new to the boxing industry.
I wonder will his train take him to the Championship.

Jake Paul is not a serious boxer. The reason he is in a "Cinderella Story", as you say, is because he is a pretty little princess who has no substance, no real skill and obviously no honor, since he sold that for a cheap career as an social media influencer instead of seriously training to become a real boxer.

He has been fighting the weak and old for exactly that reason. Because he wants to get to the top the easy way while taking selfies. He does not care about skill or boxing.

Although I greatly dislike Jake Paul and his equally shallow and superficial social media influencer brother, Logan Paul, who as everyone remembers has no problem throwing away honor for social media likes (If you remember the Japanese suicide forest scandal). So obviously dishonor runs in the family.

But thats not news to anyone who knows me and my dislike for the Logans.

1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 17, 2023, 01:52:57 PM
I am probably going to have to go with Devin Haney on this match. Not only is the dude massive but unlike Lomachenco, he is more on the defensive than the offensive side and I think that might be a better advantage. If Devin Haney beats Vasiliy Lomachenko then he could move up to 140 pounds and go straight into a non-title with Teofimo Lopez. And that is definitely a match I would love to see. So perhaps its more of a wish than a confident bet on my side. They are very well matched in skill and strength. This is one of the "not sure if I can pick a side" matches.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 16, 2023, 11:56:43 PM
It is estimated that the bettors would have profited approximately R$ 2 million (~US$ 383,130.00). Shocked

The fraud involved bribes for players, and among the main actions, it was necessary for the player to commit penalties in the first half of the games that were played. Each player received R$ 150,000 per bet for this act (~U$ 28,734.00).

In fact, this makes it much easier to earn money from sports betting.

Unfortunately these are situations that occur in several countries, but the amount of money involved always calls our attention.
In these cases, bets were placed on the competitions that we call "Series B", which is the second largest football championship in Brazil, in which the best classifieds guarantee a place for the main championship in the following year.

In third world countries, the mafia and other corrupt people, especially those sitting in the government, pretending to be politicians who work for the people, are always finding new ways to use gambling as a way to either launder money or scam money. If the governments keep doing nothing then this will not change any time soon. And people will lose their money to these crooks.

And the government won't change because they too, are being bribed by the criminals to look the other way while they steal from the people.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see another AYH. How pleasant.

$25k soon?

Looking at Coinbase, has already been claimed Smiley

I would not listen to anything Coinbase says. The CEO spread FUD to drive down the price and it turned out to be completely out of context (SEC was only cracking down on Kraken due to their scheme, which was built on top of the staking system. It had nothing to do with real staking.).

I think the CEO of Coinbase knew that. I think he used the chance to spook people into selling during an obvious pump.

1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Case: The Real, Untold Story. Is Karpeles Satoshi or DPR? on: February 16, 2023, 04:41:28 PM
SR probably used the SMF theme because he was targeting bitcoin users which are already familiar with the theme.
Saying Karpeles is Satoshi because of that is completely absurd.

The server thing is interesting but the it doesn't prove anything because it's can easily be a coincidence he bought hosting on the Karpeless hosting site.
The clearnet guide is also a stretch because it used an affiliate link (if I remember correctly) and could easily be someone trying to earn some coins from the affiliate program.

In the end data was found that Ross is DPR since he was convicted?
If so, all of this makes no sense.

Karpeles owning SR and creating bitcoin being the most absurd.
Karpeles stole so many BTC but didn't sell the initial Satoshi million BTC?

This is probably the most reasonable and logical answer to OP's conspiracy theory. And lets face it, it is just a conspiracy theory with absolutely no hard evidence but rather one of those "matching of random coincidences for the fabrication of a baseless evidence"- kind of theories.

Even if Karpeles was DPR, if he was morally corrupt enough to scam and steal from people, then obviously he would be corrupt enough to rug-pull the entire Bitcoin community no matter how high the price was at the time (and it was high enough for him to have made a considerable profit, had he been involved)

As far as I remember the story, Ross got caught red handed as DPR. Thats really the biggest evidence against him, in my opinion.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Heavyweight Boxing 1st April 2023: Joshua vs Franklin on: February 16, 2023, 04:29:02 PM
It feels like a lot of people are cheering for Joshua to win merely because he is currently seen as the "underdog" after having had his bad fight (luck?) streak. But can we really be sure that this has something to do with luck or is Joshua merely starting to give up?

I would not feel confident, betting on him, because of his past "bad luck". But then again Franklin is not such a huge challenge either. So its a bit hard to tell who will win.

Not sure I want to risk betting on either on them at this point in time.

Just a friendly piece of advice you need to stop posting multiple times in a roll this manner of posting can easily be pucked as spam and is not nice for eye sight, but the forum allows that style of posting in some cases.
But on a general note, it is not too nice to post multiple replies, you may try to give a post interval before posting another one, I may be wrong any ways in this situation but just take your and have a break between posts it makes your ann thread cleaner for potential readers

I would have to agree with this. If they would post fewer but more qualitative posts, it would be easier to read through and gather the information you need without shuffling through many many pages of unimportant posts.

But I am guessing they care more about bumping the thread so everyone can see it on the first page more than they care about providing quality marketing material which is actually of use to the community.

Most casinos do not do this but I do not see anyone getting reprimanded for this, so I guess its ok?
1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else getting deflated with the bitcoin naysayers? on: February 14, 2023, 11:02:34 PM
Personally, I am completely done with trying to persuade the unpersuadable with the simple fact that Bitcoin > Fiat. If the ignorant wish to remain ignorant, then so be it. If they want to live their lives in poverty out of ignorance, so be it! If they want to ignore the fact that Bitcoin is the next gen money, then so be it.

Anyone wants to sell their Bitcoin? Go ahead, I will gladly buy it all up. And I will not be giving it back.

Some people are incorrigible and thats just the way the world is. The rest of us know why Bitcoin will be the global money and why it will kill banks and fiat.

1590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling safer than before ? on: February 14, 2023, 07:45:55 PM
I think gambling is definitely safer than anytime before in history, at least I think it is so in civilized countries. Perhaps not so much in third world countries with corrupt and/or dictatorial leaderships.

Nowadays the government is cracking down on the gambling institutions that try to extort, manipulate and trick their customers into losing their money unfairly. Especially protecting children and other vulnerable people.

In the past this was not always the case, as gambling addiction was not known to be such a serious issue.
1591  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: February 14, 2023, 07:27:16 PM
Hi there,

I'm part of a team developing a crypto/blockchain game that has big $$ prize potential. I'm doing some research and hoping this community can help. If you guys have any insight/thoughts on the following questions please share them. We are really trying to build something that is enjoyable for the crypto gaming/gambling community.

- What are some current pain points in the crypto gaming/gambling space for players?
- What would you like to see?
- What makes one game fun to play -- more so than other competitors that have similar games (ex: why you enjoy playing crypto poker on X site rather than site A)?
- Who are some absolute Degens in the space?
- Aside from BitcoinTalk (this forum) where else do you get your news that you trust (which newsletters, sites, which Youtubers, any twitter accounts)?

We just want to build this game the right way that players actually enjoy playing in addition to potential of winning big....  Grin

Thanks all.

I would love to see a game which is not some slightly modified cookie cut game with a different graphical design, which every single casino already has, except in their own "version". Something absolutely new in concept and not in looks, is what I am basically saying. I think a lot of gambling casinos want to stay safe because old games are already tested and tried and new creations always have that uncertainty about them- they could get hacked or bugged or else.

So thats the biggest issue I would have- the same game in a different "suit".

1592  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com | Futuristic Dice Platform 🎲🌌 on: February 13, 2023, 09:16:50 PM
I almost managed to reach 0.01 bitcoin ... I started with 0.0015 btc (probably greed didn't let me stop).

You were so close too.  I hate that feeling of almost making it but screwing up at the very end. Luck seems to be quite fickle in the matter of timing. Almost as if lady luck wants to add insult to injury  Roll Eyes Tongue

At least you did not make any realized losses as if you would have by putting down liquid reserves you already had in the first place.

How long did it take you to get the initial amount of 0.00015 BTC from the faucet, in the first place?

Better luck next time. Cheesy
1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 12,000 in 2023. on: February 13, 2023, 06:59:43 PM
What do you guys think about the possibility that bitcoin will crash down below 20k again before going beyond 24k?
The economy is still tanking, unemployment is rising and rates are still high and we don't know when they will start getting lower. And the biggest thing is that we still didn't feel the effect of the rate hikes. Considering all this, I see a real possibility of bitcoin crashing down with other assets.
I don't see how we can get a soft landing when there is a statistic that every time after the fed pivot economy was dumping even harder.
I want to hear your perspective on this.BTC

I think if you're looking for the bottom, you should zoom out the chart to the monthly and see that we already are at the bottom. Hoping for a second bottom and holding on to your fiat until then might prove to be a mistake you will regret in the long run.

If you are still unsure, why not just Dollar Cost Average? DCA in other words is to divide your money and use part of it to buy now and part of it to buy later. You average out the price at which you bought so if BTC goes up at least you will have not missed out on all the profit. And if it goes down again then you will have some money to buy more BTC at a cheaper price. Its about dividing the risk/reward.

Its true, an alien tried to scam me out of my coin. But I reported him to the alien police.

1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: February 13, 2023, 05:50:48 PM

That is correct - Ronaldo came to Al Nasr because they wanted a famous face and they have been able to get it.
However depending on Ronaldo for the team success all the time is not possible - one should be be realistic not to make Ronaldo icon or the superman

Well whether or not someone wants Ronaldo to be an icon or superman, as you say, I do not think that matters to the people who already adore Ronaldo as an icon. They will not change their mind. And of course thats the main reason why Ronaldo went to Al Nassr. They obviously pay him big money to be the marketing face for them.

Obviously if you were to think realistically, Ronaldo is already at the age where you cannot expect his skills to not start diminishing. A younger footballer would be preferable but who cares about some new guy?

Its all just fan service at this point. Although I do respect Ronaldos career and experience throughout the years.
1596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 13, 2023, 05:13:52 PM
Alright, time to get a bit philosphical:

Is it considered an addiction if you do not make any losses or is it only an addiction if you start losing money because of bad trades? In other words, if you cannot stop doing it because of the rush of dopamine, but it does you no financial harm, is it considered bad?

From a ethical and/or moral perspective, both of these situations are technically considered addictive behavior and therefore should lead to something bad, sooner or later - if public opinions of addiction are your ethical guidelines.
1597  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Two UFOs shot down today over North America… and CNN is openly talking about it… on: February 13, 2023, 12:10:11 AM
This is a pretty crazy story. While I think everyone wants it to be aliens, I think more likely this is China testing how well we’re able to monitor our airspace as the design of this UFO is different than the last one.

There are also reports of a UFO flying over China that they’re expected to shoot down as well, so who knows what is going on. Maybe this is how the alien invasion starts. In any event, I think this story is worth monitoring.

You have a point. We know that if CNN openly and rapicly talks about something, that there is probably some kind of coverup somewhere along the line.

Cool

I think its odd that this happens at the same time when Americans are once again accused of blowing up Nordstream 2 but I am sure thats all just a coincidence. I would not dare call it anything else lest I fall on a bullet by "accident".

The "UFOs" are not actually aliens but rather objects which are not yet identified (duh). And these objects, once they are shot down, will most likely end up being identified as some chinese bing-chilling spy balloons listening in on your phone conversation with grandma.

If I am wrong then RIP, ET. Cry
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 12, 2023, 10:07:49 PM
I do not think that Caleb Plant has any real chance against David Benavidez. For Benavidez this entire fight is just basically a PR/marketing stunt to do right by his fans and his image as well as his overall boxing career. If it was not for his cocaine embarrassment, this fight would probably never even take place.

He did not take any drugs which would enhance his fighting skills/abilities or training regiments, its just him being punished for being found out. This changes nothing  in his fighting ability, though. Which is why its going to be an easy win.

I see no reason to punish him for his drug habit other than deceiving his fans who bet money on him to be physically and mentally healthy in his fights. His habit might get him in prison or he might have a heart attack. I guess this makes us feel a bit uneasy to bet on him.
1599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2023, 08:38:39 PM
Just watch out because doctors are only people too. I had Lyme disease from a tick bite and the "doctor" could not tell apart fungal disease from Erythema Migrans. Idiot gave me an ointment instead of antibiotics. I mean it took me all of 2 minutes to google "bulls-eye pattern rash". But he only rolled his eyes at my more-than-obvious self-diagnosis.

Always get a second/third opinion of another doctor. If statistics can be believed, 1 out of 10 doctor visits end up with a misdiagnosis or a false treatment.

What do you call a medical student who graduated last in his class?

Dentist?
1600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 11, 2023, 06:35:40 PM
Nice fight for both of the fighters.

I still root for Nonito Donaire to win despite him being the older fighter, well, some called him old already and has to retire from boxing, but I think he still has something to prove, he can make this opportunity to be a champion again before hanging those gloves.

He might be the older fighter but his lack of power and speed due to age can easily be underestimated. You seem to be especially forgetting his fighting experience. Its worth more than speed and power combined and it will be the reason why Donaire wins. It might not be a fast win but it will definitely be an easy one. Compared to Nonito Donaire, Jason Moloney is still green behind the ears and it will definitely show in the fight.

Age in boxing seems to be more of a marketing ploy to sell a fighter. Any smart gambler knows to bet on their own research of skills and past fights. Not age.
