Jesus Christ, another shooting in America? At this point, Americans should be accepted by other countries (the ones they haven't yet bombed) as refugees on the grounds that the USA is too dangerous to live in. well at least it wasn't a cop, firing 42 warning rounds into an unarmed persons back, this time.

Even if some official social media account of any of the institution promote cryptocurrencies, giveaways or NFT, don't fall for it. By the time make a clear analysis and go further. Yesterday the British Army's Social media accounts were hacked and more scams were promoted. It is always good to stay safe as hackers are always in search of possible ways to scam common people.

British Army’s social media accounts hacked by crypto scammers

This is exactly why I created the following thread, in hopes that people (mostly newbies who do not really understand the dangers that they are in, yet) would take my advice seriously: very simple OPSEC tips of my own on how to keep your coins safe

I highly recommend everyone to at least skim through the text and try to remember it the next time they are putting themselves in financial danger. Especially in the realm of crypto, where scammers are abundant and extremely clever.

Although this is meant for crypto newbies, I am amazed at the lax security of the British Army. Its an embarrassment, if you ask me.
2563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: July 05, 2022, 09:39:20 AM
Gamblers also suffer on market crash, there are some crypto gambling platforms that accept crypto but doesn't convert its value to $ value. While market price declines, we have to bet higher coin amounts for same payout. This is huge trouble especially when market goes down %60 and gamblers have to cover market losses before withdrawal on wining streak.
If that's the case for crypto gamblers, maybe they're better off leaving gambling for a while and saving their coins by just holding on to them. I guess it will be good for gamblers than them losing more of their coins on gambling either in value for money or in amount. But if they haven't been able to leave gambling, maybe they can convert their coins into stable coins, and then they can deposit them to a casino that accepts stable coins to gamble so they can continue gambling.
the main reason why today many gambling sites provide deposit and wd options with stablecoins is so that those who are afraid of price volatility on BTC or ETH can use stable coins as a choice. so that there are still a lot of people playing on crypto gambling sites.
If the market situation is irregular, I have several options, including using stable coins to deposit, depositing using altcoins or sticking with BTC or ETH, or the last one is not gambling and just waiting for the market to return to normal.

Maybe people have their own preferences so they can decide the best they can do during an irregular market situation. Or there are gamblers like me who do nothing or gamble at all.

Good thing you mentioned stable coins, I forgot that I wanted to say something about that as well. It seems to me that even investing in the hodling of stablecoins for gambling or whichever reason, is risky in itself and could also vaguely be called gambling.

As we have seen with stablecoins like LUNA UST, there is absolutely no promise that said stablecoins will result in a safe haven as you go about your day. In fact, it could all become worthless from one second to the other. Just like any other cryptocurrency.

It might be a safer looking option than other crypto but its still far from safe.

I am guessing the reason why he created death_wish was to collect sympathy by lying about his margin trading losses. Or maybe that is his strategy of covertly begging for coin on WO? Now he even resorts to fraud... Sad.

Extremely pathetic, either way. Nullius is dishonest and a coward.

I wonder if he does this often. Geez, at least I no longer feel sorry for him. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

death_wish is nullius

Even if you ignore the uniquely pompous writing style, it's quite obvious by now that when he couldn't extort bitcoins out of you on WO (as death_wish) he's gonna trollpuppet you now (as nullius).

Ahh... The puzzle pieces fall into place.

His schizophrenic pomposity, narcissistic personality and unjustified sense of self importance does mirror that of death_wish's 1 to 1. The fact that he does not deny it only adds further credibility to your assertion.

Wow. Now I just feel sorry for the guy. He keeps creating new accounts but can't hide his true self.

Not only did he start his karenistic screeching about hating beggars on WO and on this thread but he himself begs for coin. What a hypocrite.

Nullius is seemingly indeed an irredeemable cunt.

2567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Plan B Is a CIA Agent on: July 04, 2022, 08:16:13 PM
Well, I was wondering whether or not I should post a reply due to the fact that the entire thread is completely unproductive and should be in the off topic section of some other, smaller and less known forum but who am I to deny a good old fashioned schizo thread?

I very much doubt Plan B is a CIA agent.

That would mean Bitcoin was developed by the CIA.... That can't be true, right? I refuse to believe the CIA could ever possess the intellect or the will power necessary to think of something like Blockchain. All they really do is interfere in elections, plan coups and topple governments of foreign countries whenever it suits the US's geopolitic interests.

In all seriousness, Plan Bs S2F model is just basically the approximation of the logarithmic prediction of Bitcoin. Simple but misguided mathematics with a fancy title. Absolutely nothing special nor original about his predictions. I prefer keeping an eye on the logarithmic chart.

Initial version of post:  https://archive.ph/DT9U4#selection-3665.0-3847.91

More recently, Dabs had someone publicly begging on his behalf in the Wall Observer:

archive.ph, Wayback:
[...]

You could donate it to Dabs if you don't want it. As he told me, he is in an uncomfortable financial situation and could use any and all help. Maybe WO should help him out?

I DID NOT "beg on his behalf". I truely thought he was in sincere trouble. And never having known Dabs (a veteran WO'er with nothing but green trust) to be a habitual begger,  I felt empathy for him so I thought WO should know of the troubles of a fellower long term WO'er. And as someone in the thread said they had tainted BTC that they did not wish to hodl, trade or sell, I proposed it go towards him. I did not go out of my way to ask for people to dig into their savings.

I would ask you to stop your disgusting insinuations that he had engaged me to beg for him.

Instead of accusing the accuser and trying to shoot the messenger, I advise that you should apologize to death_wish for how you essentially called him a liar.  And if you would have acted differently had you known of Dabs’ past begging, then your anger would be more appropriately directed at him, not at me.  Rather, you should thank me for coming forward with something I was reluctant to touch for over two years.

The public posts, which are all archived, speak for themselves.  And you spoke for yourself, when you called for “any and all help” for Dabs, and you asked that “WO should help him out”.  I will not waste my time on your dishonest wordgames, when everyone can see exactly what you said.

I did not call him a liar. I asked him to provide evidence for his claim, since he made a heavy claim which was suited to damaging Dabs's clean reputation. Instead of coming forth with the evidence, as I requested of him, Death_wish attempted to goad me (multiple times) into taking an unfair, premeditated Bitcoin bet with him over the matter. When I refused, he continued to troll me into taking the bet. Basically trying to scam me out of my coins.

Most people dislike his character as he is an annoying troll on the WO. And lets be honest, he was venting on everyone and anyone because he lost most of his Bitcoin with margin trading. Which is why I overreacted. I may have been mistaken about Dabs but why you seem to be vouching for death_wish, I have no idea.

I am not going to tell you again. Stop smearing my good will and reputation.

Also, should the situation arise when a fellow senior Bitcointalker with a glowing green reputation is in a dire situation, I will be sure to let everyone know so that those who wish to help, can do so... And I really do not care what trolls think of that.

Here is my interaction with Dabs:

As you can see by the following, I was not employed or otherwise engaged by him to beg.

Hi there goldkingcoiner,

You don't really know me except for my postings in the threads as Dabs, but I am in a dire situation and was hoping you could possibly help.

I have asked friends I know, and now I am resorting to people who I don't really know.

I can tell you my story if you'd like, or if you can, just help, that would appreciated too.

Thank you for reading. And I am sorry if this is a bother to you.

Dabs

How can I help, buddy?

Hi,

Allow me to tell you a summary of my life thus far.

I come from the Philippines. I moved to Canada in 2015. I did all sorts of things crypto / bitcoin, including sigs, escrow transactions, ... I earned my coins, did not really buy them. Had some from before the move. I brought with me my family, wife, 3 kids.

Was not employed until 2019. So you can believe I survived on crypto / bitcoin alone for about 4 years, but my earnings from that went to nothing and I had to keep spending and spending, no matter what, just to live. When I got the job, my income from that job was about $2k per month. My expenses for everything including rent, groceries, milk, food was an additional $4k a month.

Up until early this year, I still had a stash, and I had some staking alt coins that were providing me just barely that income and then along the way (in 2017-2018) I had incurred debts, which is why I started looking for jobs in 2019 and I got one in Feb 2019.

Then covid happened and everything went to hell, but yet I still somehow survived. I was forced to sell everything. I moved to a smaller housing unit, smaller apartment.

I've already applied for 100 to 200 jobs in the last month, gotten a few interviews, and just waiting for one of them to send me an offer. I was even willing to relocate to Kuujjuaq (that is near the north pole, but we're already in Canada, so it's not very far away).

Now, I am literally at the end of my rope.

I know, I am not really your friend, I am a stranger, but we've both been on the forums and you've seen some of my posts, I've seen some of your posts ... to "invest" in me would be a gamble, but one I would say is also an asymmetric bet. Because if you help me, and I make it out of my situation alive and successful a few months from now, I'll be able to also help you, either pay you back or pay it forward or something.

I am about 10 days from becoming homeless and having to send my kids away. I do not want that to happen. I am desperate but I am not going to do anything illegal or wrong, however I am willing to do anything for you that I can do, even if it is just a promise that I will have to keep for many months or years.

No one has been willing to help or can. Those in a position who can, won't.

I need financial help. Any amount is appreciated. You know what I need for the immediate future, but I can tell you this: if I get enough so I don't get too stressed out for the next several months, that would be great and allow to focus on improving and fixing my life and maybe earning back more, get a better job, etc. And I will never forget you. A coin or two (even at today's bottom prices) would be a great help. More of course, is better. I actually won't profit from the coins because they will be immediately converted to fiat. Canadian dollars, that is.

Let me know if you can. And I am sorry if this is a very sad story and just bothering you.

Dabs

P.S. I do have or involved in some projects, small ones, they are not profitable, but they have a community. I don't have any coins/tokens with them, I am just there for the tech, but they could be a promising future.

Ah, yes, I would like that. What kind of community manager? is it here on this forum? I have discord on my phone. What kind of pay are we talking about? I'd really like to do it and continue doing it, but my situation is very dire and I am looking for all sorts of ways to fix that. I think you know what I need, I may have told you already. I don't need "giant amounts" and I may look like "overpaid" at the start to fix my life, but if you've seen me work on other small projects before, even those that did not pay, I have stuck with them for a long time.

If I'm not too stressed out, I wouldn't have a problem working with you on all your projects. Smiley

Dabs

You know, I could introduce you to some of my projects. Perhaps you would be interested as working as a Community Manager? It might not be a giant amount of money but the pay is not bad for the amount of work!

Please let me know.
2571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: July 04, 2022, 08:15:26 AM
The most popular suggestion you can get when trying to quit gambling especially when you are continuously loosing money is mostly that you should just stop gambling itself. This sounds like an almost impossible task for many who are already hooked to it and just hearing that alone is discouraging. A better suggestion and an alternative to quitting gambling completely is to start betting with fake money gambling apps. With FAKE MONEY GAMBLING APPS, you can continue gambling on the app even on live games, but with fake money. So in reality you can maintain the experience you derive from gambling and not loose any money except the fake one in the process.

Although the original idea behind the creation of such apps was to provide a platform were individuals can practice their betting skills without loosing money before actually gambling with real money, i still find it useful to those trying to quit because they keep loosing money.

In Order of user rating and for suggestion sake, some of the best fake money gambling apps according to user experience, core functionality & innovative solution are (please note that some of these apps still offer real gambling services, and if you really want to stop loosing money, you should avoid)

What is your opinion on Fake money gambling apps, do you recognize the potential I think they have to assist in reducing the number of gamblers who loose real money?

I think for practicing or learning how to gamble, obviously you should not be using real money. Although any online gambling casino owner would love to disagree with me but I do not think it is fair that you should lose money because you did not fully understand the game.

But once you have firmly grasped the rules and perfected the game the way you would like, I doubt that gambling with fake money is something that you will find interesting anymore. In fact, it would seem like a huge waste of time and every win would seem like something you could have won for real. Which can make you feel disappointed that you did not bet real money.

2573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 03, 2022, 01:50:03 PM
I know we are greatly influenced by the environment we are born into and sometimes become gamblers because of where we find ourselves, i also considered the possibility of gambling being hereditary and found out that it is also possible, that is gambling can be hereditary ,
Quote
Gambling is linked to a gene that is passed on through generations and a new study claims that it is passed on to both sons and daughters alike.
now come to think of it since it is difficult to escape our genetic makeup,
- Would you blame an individual who becomes addicted to gambling because it is wired to his DNA?

-Can their gambling problem be put in check by regular methods?

-Will the addiction be worse than someone who picked up the habit?

I would say its probably got less to do with inherited gambling and more with a genetic disposition to hormonal disbalances in the brain. And the same goes with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, nicotine addiction, food addiction and any sort of addiction in which the brain is stimulated with dopamine/seratonin/Etc.

So basically if your dopamine recepters did not develop as expected for a healthy human, then obviously there will be problems. These types of people should stay away from anything that can be addictive. Especially gambling.

Hard to do, seeing as many things in this world can create an addiction....
2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POS VS POW effect on valuation of bitcoin on: July 03, 2022, 12:33:36 PM
I do not want to be a spoilsport but here I go:

I worry that POS might be the only feasible option for Bitcoin once all the Bitcoin are mined or until mining costs no longer justify rewards (if that is possible). Once mining rewards fall out of the equation, the value of Bitcoin transaction rewards will likely determine whether or not using POW is worth it, in the long term.

And if POS does not crash and burn horribly in its test phase with the current POS altcoins, then it might actually be an improvement for Bitcoin, especially when it comes to scaling.

Although I do dislike the anti-democratic part of POS.  Basically it could turn out to be centralization with extra steps.
2575  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What the f..ck is wrong with the world,EU and crypto ? on: July 03, 2022, 10:11:16 AM
it seems governments are trying to take control of crypto and the internet.

They have been trying to do this since the birth of crypto. And what have they really achieved that was not already there? Nothing at all. People still can anonymously buy and trade crypto all they want and nobody is the wiser.

Same goes for the internet. Sure we may have many laws for the internet but you can circumvent 99% of these laws with a simple VPN. Or just use the dark web by accessing it through TOR.

The truth is that the governments have no power and they can only bark. Anyone who falls in line with their orders has only themselves to blame. Everyone else knows they can't actually do anything to crypto or the internet. Grin Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Disgusting bitsler, played there for years...i swear they rigged my account after i did cash out from their fcking faucet(, not even faucet, its fucking nitro WHICH I WAS FUCKING MORE THAN OUGHT TO HAVE) well they rigged my account after...so im done with them... 225 bets bets 6.6x dice payout reds, 185 6.1x dice payout and shit like that...ye tell me its unlucky. You are BITSLER shit then. Well i had some few trx and they wouldn't let me cashout until i wrote to their fucking rigged support. DO NOT PLAY AT THAT CASINO UNTIL U WANT TO GIVE OUT MONEY TO THEM . ITS SCAM

If you have actual hard evidence that you have gathered against them (and this evidence shows that they are unjustly using shady tactics to steal you money), then I highly recommend posting a scam accusation in the scam accusation subforum. Otherwise you are just letting off steam because you lost money at an online gambling casino.

Does losing money while gambling come to a surprise to anyone? Is it not something you should be expecting when you go into the casino in the first place?

Everyone else in this thread are saying that they have never had any problems with Bitsler. So obviously your scam accusation seems to not have any backing from anyone else. This is really not the place to vent your anger. Go outside and breathe some fresh air.
2577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 03, 2022, 09:22:08 AM
I would not trust ANY online gambling casino with large sums of funds. Why? Because as soon as you want to withdraw your relatively large winnings, the casinos start sweating and try anything, whether legal or not to stop you. Basically the most of them are crooks who cannot handle a large loss because every large enough loss can put them out of business forever.

But as long as you are losing money, they are completely happy to leave your account alone. They even encourage you to put more money into your gamblings funds with cheap incentives.

So basically, gambling is a fun thing to do with small amounts of money. Undecided

Institutional investors know exactly what they are doing. It should come to no surprise to veteran bitcoiners as well. Now is the right time to make good investment decisions while newbies are selling.

I do not condone the same institutional investors who were spreading fud a few weeks prior in order to scare the newbies into selling their Bitcoin to them at a cheap price. But thats the way things are. Life lesson learned.
