2621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 31, 2022, 02:58:52 AM
It's already fight week, for sure majority of us are excited even for non bettors because we can just watch this great match.

It's going to be interesting fight, Thurman coming back after a long hiatus and then Barrios moving up to the Welterweight and trying to "test his mettle". But boxing fans has spoken from this community, it's Thurman to win this fight. So let's see if majority is right in picking him.
2622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market sentiments ? on: January 30, 2022, 04:51:13 PM
Big sums of money leaving crypto market in one shot (whales cashing out) are responsible for that. Sentiments come only later, when every investors else realize what happened, so they become pessimistic about the currently market conditions, what can lead to further corrections in bitcoin's price, and consequently in altcoins' prices as well due to panic selling.
Anyway small investors (most of us) don't have a big impact in bitcoin price: positively or negatively, it doesn't matter. Bitcoin drives crypto market and whales drive bitcoin price...

Yeah, but it was like in stages though, the drop was not sudden for me, it seems that they have time the market when to sell. So when everyone spoke about a $100k price in December, it went north and take a downward spiral

Anyhow, it's done already, and maybe we as small investors have small impact, but I think we are still part of the market and I would say has a vital role to keep the price afloat after the whales are playing the market.
2623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis: Australian Open 2022 on: January 30, 2022, 02:36:20 PM
It seems to me that exactly what I predicted in my earlier post is happening.
Medvedev started the match well and won the first 2 sets, but now Nadal is on the way to completely turn the match in his favor.

It's getting extremly close indeed. Currently the score is 5:5 in the fifth set.

Source: Google, Australian Open Live Data

I quickly put some more dollars on Medvedev. I think he can do it!

/edit: RIP my bets... 6:5 Nadal ... can he finish it? Cheesy

Yes, he just did, 7-5 in the last set, this time it was Nadal who comes from behind and won the last 3 sets. So this is a big win for those who trusted Nadal because he is a underdog in this finals. It was a battle of breaks, when you thought that someone has the momentum, the other one will break back and tie the score again. But eventually Nadal hold his serve in the 5th set and eventually won the match. Congrats to Rafa, again, he is a underdog in this finals, but he proves us wrong again. So now he passed Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic and win his 21st Grand Slam title.

#LeBronJames is launching a #Bitcoin and crypto education program that will educate kids on #Cryptocurrencies.

What do you guys think?

I don't think that LeBron James is going to teach anything, sounds like more like a marketing campaign to make it interesting for kids. As a teenager crypto currencies might seem boring and nerdy, so teaming up with one of the coolest basketball stars is a good idea. It comes down to how relatable it is for kids. Having some old white guys in suits probably sends the wrong message and won't get many kids excited. In every big marketing campaign it takes a star that is easy reconsibile to link to the brand. I wonder how much money he gets paid for this.
There's no mention of money involved in the article but Crypto.com will benefit a lot from this campaign and this partnership, let's be honest anything our heroes or idol promote or says we support it because, we think that these celebrities will not mislead us because they have a reputation to protect, I'm sure both of them will benefit from this partnership but Crypto.com value in the market will be increase significantly.

Yes, this is also what I'm thinking here, Lebron James himself into crypto? I highly doubt it, maybe he is, but this program is being sponsored by some entity behind and it's obvious, Crypto.com. Nevertheless I think this is a good idea and I would say a winw-win for crypto enthusiast. And maybe those being educated will someday be one CEO of a crypto related companies, who knows.
2625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 30, 2022, 10:04:40 AM
Not a good start from Nadal, Medvedev dominating early on in the 1st set. He is really agressive on Nadal's serve, and is pushing Nadal far behind the baseline.

From what I've seen in the first few games, it might be a quick and dominant win. Then again, Nadal has turned things around a million times before.

I am for Rafa here, hope he finds a way.

He lost he first set already, 6-2, but had the lead in the second set 4-2 with him serving.

So hopefully he can get back in the second set and tie the game and at least force a 5th and decider set.

It's now a battle of momentum, Rafa has find his groove already and now dictating the tempo. So let's see here, again, I wanted a 5th game so that we will enjoy the match.
2626  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be wiser than the market on: January 30, 2022, 09:12:34 AM
More like don't be greedy, I don't see how being wiser than the market is going to be any bad for someone. Wisdom is literally a higher form of intelligence so I don't see how wrong would it be for someone to be wiser. I mean what could you possibly do in that situation though? Would you get less wiser?

I guess it boils down as to how traders or investors really learn from the market itself. If you are a newbie, then you can understand if they make mistakes. But if you have been long in the game, then definitely you have the experience and I would say you should be a wiser and smart investor. So that cycle will continue, the noobs have seen a full cycle (bear/bulls), and then stack up a lot of knowledge. And then we can new comers again in the market, so it's a process that everyone has to go through.
2627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis: Australian Open 2022 on: January 29, 2022, 05:18:08 PM
Well, we have the Nadal vs Medvedev final that always seemed inevitable.

I think Medvedev won't be too tired, though, or not as tired as I expected. I thought the match with Tsitsipas would be quite tight, and for most of the match it was... but I also thought it might be quite draining, long games, possibly a 5-setter. As it turned out though, although it was tight, much of the match seemed to be the players holding serve to love... so not as tiring as might have been expected.

I was going to have Nadal as favourite for the final, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe he might still edge it, even though Medvedev didn't have an exhausting semi-final.

For me, Nadal is a big surprise of this tournament.
Of course, we all know how good and quality a tennis player he is, but he was injured for a long time and had a long break when he couldn't play in tournaments.
Personally, I thought he is not completely ready and healthy before the start of this tournament, but Nadal really delighted me with his games until the finals.
The experience is definitely on his side and I am sure he will cope easier with the pressure of playing the GS final than Medvedev.
It will probably be a very uncertain match but I give a little advantage to Nadal.

Yeah, when we thought that he is done because of the numerous injuries he had and even his rankings has drop this year. And then at the start of the year entering the first slam and then going directly into the finals? that's already a big accomplishment and a good boost for him. But then again, he will be facing Medvedev who is now the second seed and seems to be on his prime, really hard to see what will be the outcome of this match. But experience wise, obviously, Nadal has the edge here.
2628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 29, 2022, 01:32:03 PM

I doubt he'll ruin his name and career by not showing up for this fight. I know there are rumors regarding him faking the illness but if the WBO confirmed the evidence he showed, I believe that he was not faking his Illness.

It's not fake, it's real, otherwise, he will go to jail or will lose his license. Casimero has proven not feeling well that time so he was not stripped with this belt, for the 2nd time, he is given another chance to defend his title and I'm sure he will do just find and beat his challenger.

Casimero is on his way making his name to be more famous in the industry and I don't actually believe that he will do that because surely Casimero himself know what would be the outcome if he suddenly decides not to show up and it's just a rumor that he's just faking his illness that's why he was hospitalized but there's some videos in the youtube that can vouch his actions.

If I'm not mistaken, Casimero has history of having problems making the weight.

But I think this time there will be no slippage, because he knows that once he failed to show up or missed the weight in scale he will be strip of the belt on the fight night itself. So his team should really be careful of what he eat. Although there are still months before the actual fight. They should at least manage his weight by now, as early as they can so that there will be no cramping and huge drop in weight days before the fight because it will put a lot of strain in the body.
2629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 29, 2022, 12:54:00 PM
Moving on to the upcoming games, we have some interesting games and the best game for me  is the Warriors vs Nets.

Durant is supposed to meet his old team but he was out, so it's gonna be Irving and Harden who will play the Warriors.
Though both stars are listed as probable now, but I hope they'll be playing so this game would be more interesting to watch.

My bet is GSW -6. GL!

Yes, if Durant is not available, the we might as well see Irving or Harden in the floor.

And checking the venue, it will be in Chase Center, and the Warriors has one of the best record in their home court. And in their last game, the Splash brother put up a good show, together with Wiggins and Poole. While on the other hand, the Nets have been struggling and on the losing streak. They have lost their position already in the East and now on the 5th spot only.
2630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 29, 2022, 11:44:56 AM
Are you selling your Bitcoins, sers? But what if I tell you that Putin is the buyer of your Bitcoins? Don’t sell them your precious coins! If they truly want it,wait for six digits, AND MAYBE they can have it. Buy the DIP, and HODL. Keep front-running them.
The current decline in the price of bitcoin certainly triggers panic for traders and makes them sell at a cheap price, so for those who believe in strong bitcoin fundamentals, they will certainly take advantage of their panic to buy at a low price in the market, I personally see if this is actually the case is the right time to increase our bitcoin holdings and hold it for a long time so that it will really benefit us later.

Plus market crashes, especially Bitcoin market crashes, are truly opportunities to buy Bitcoin with a discount. It’s the main reason why I don’t prefer to Bitcoin blindly at any price like DCA recommends. It’s a winning strategy if you count your investment in U.S. Dollars, but 1BTC = 1BTC and we should get more BTC with every purchase through buying DIPs.

Definitely, nothing can go wrong with this little but no secret formula in crypto market, but the dip and enjoy the ride. I mean no matter what, specially in crypto winter? this formula is still applicable, and it's one way to survived in this bearish cycle. So this dip is a "window of opportunity", the only caveat is that you need to have capital and mental toughness. But if you go over and won the psychological battle, for sure you will be rewarded in the future.

Medvedev at 1.49 ML? Perhaps it will be a good bet for Nadal right now at 2.55. For sure this will be a great match but I guess they are overvaluing Medvedev here.

So I will go with Nadal ML here, even if he lose this game, I will be happy with the way they give the odds for a Nadal straight up win.
I just check now odds are going for Nadal @2.7 and for Medvedev @1.45 which is good as I also love to have some money on Nadal he is a monster and can change things very quickly in his own favour Medvedev is also in good form but still it's anybody game both have ability to go through for 5 set final and here I am feeling going with +3 @1.90 for Nadal is also good option. If Nadal play with calm, then surely he can win another Grand Slam.

Yes, I will also go with the underdog here. Nadal is really playing solid and it doesn't matter if it is Medvedev or anyone that he is facing in the finals in a grand slam. For sure he will give everything in this match and prove that he can stay and play with the new generation.

For Ladies there is no competition as Barty is going to win this without any big trouble, she is ruthless and unstoppable for any player after few top ranked ladies already out of this competition.

It's Barty, a dominant 2 set win against Collins, the first set was easy, but she has to be extended and win in a tie-break.
2632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 28, 2022, 01:39:43 PM
As I observed, a lot are still rooting for Spence Jr. No doubt because of his record. But this will be tested once both of them are inside the ring. Ugas' camp for sure is meticulously planning on how to beat Spence Jr as early as they can. But knowing Spence Jr, this one is hard to beat. So yes, this is indeed exciting to watch. Can we have another upset in the making?

That's the reality in this fight, more favoritism is Spence jr than Ugas cause they are based on records, and yes if we are looking for records for sure what we see is Spence jr has a great record without loss while ugas has a loss in his career but this is not the main reason why we choose the undefeated one than this opponent. If ugas was trained hard then for sure he has a chance to win this match and I know he will. In this juncture I choose Ugas.

Not to favor anyone but after that win from Pacquiao, Ugas pride may rise up and the quality of trainings needs to increase as he will be facing much tougher and younger opponents compared to Pacquiao, the level of his confidence may also increase as he's also a defending champ, this will be a great motivation while fighting for an all in a title match from Spence.. Roll Eyes Wink

It will be tested when they are both inside the ring, favorite still on the side of Spence Jr, while the underdog will do everything to prove himself..

The momentum may carry, but it's a different opponent so the strategy and preparation of Ugas will also be different. Now he is facing another young champion and clearly he knows that he will be the underdog again in this fight so he will have to prove that his win against Manny is not by a lucky chance (Manny's leg cramps).

So both are going to test each other here and the first one who is going to blink and experience the pressures of big fights will most likely to lose.
2633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $100k? on: January 28, 2022, 01:01:19 PM
@arwin100 - This is the sad truth, however, this is a good lesson for newbies. I'm sure majority of us started as newbie and we are all blind in the beginning. And for sure we FOMO and been victimised by scammers like bitcoin doubler. But then again, we learn from it, and now we became the investors that we are right now. And even in the bear market, we know how to take advantage by continuing to stack sats and have patience, because that $100k is not that far, maybe in the next year or so we will see the price hitting 6 digits.
2634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 28, 2022, 12:33:07 PM
@Jating, no words yet on the real score between MP Promotion and Casimero but as per Sean Gibbons' words that they are open for Casimero to go back to them, then i think Quadro Alas is not with them anymore.

Last news i've read is that Casimero has signed up with Probellum, i just don't know if this is long term or just this fight with Butler.

Yeah, that's the last thing that I've heard as well, and I was really surprised that he dump MP and Sean Gibbons to move to Probellum.

And now that we have this news that it was not totally settled with MP, maybe it will give problems for Casimero in the future. But maybe there is no communication, a simple call to Sean Gibbons might settle everything once and for all and Casimero can move on to Probellum if he wanted.
2635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 28, 2022, 11:47:02 AM
Most of the time, when you say Warriors the player that they think first is Curry and Thompson and they aren't thinking about other players like Wiggins.

There's no problem about him being counted as an all-star but the problem is they make him a starter right away. Anyway, we cannot decide things that have already been finalized and all we can do is have fun watching this upcoming NBA all-stars week which is the best time to spend with your families and friends. I wonder who would be the candidates for the Slamdunk contest, one of my favorite all-star activities.

Well if the fans voted for Wiggins to be included in the All Star and be a starter for that matter, then he should be in the line-up.

He had a good game against his former team again, so rightfully deserving of that All Star starting line-up. But Curry and Thompson takes the center stage as they definitely shows what they are capable of when the two are clicking and shooting the lights out. A combine 50+ points in a game.
2636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 28, 2022, 11:17:10 AM
Let's first see who he'll play against, personally he would be a favorite against Tsitsipas but not against Medvedev.
Should be a good match coming up, I expect a big battle and at least 4 sets. I went with less greedy Tsitsipas to take set bet after I lost my over bet on Nadal. I blame Berrettini for that one, he should have gotten to tie break in at least one set. Tsitsipas really grew trough the tournament and if he continues like that I expect him to even win. But we all know how it finished last year, 3:0 for Medvedev so hopefully revenge time.

I think as others have expected including myself, it will be Nadal vs Medvedev in the finals. Medvedev is leading the 4th set, 4-1, and won sets 1 and 3. And for sure he will want to close out Tsitsipas in this set so that he won't give him a chance. Otherwise a 5th and deciding set will be needed and it will just extend Medvedev again. So there is no revenge for Tsitsipas unfortunately.
2637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: OpenSea hacked for $780,000 on: January 28, 2022, 09:37:47 AM
Oh, that's really too back to hear that at the start of the year we have a hack already, although the amount is that that huge compare to the other hacks from the past 4 years. Nevertheless people have lost their money due to the inability of the devs to really test their platform and look for loopholes. And now the hackers have found the exploits and we can't do anything about it. And it will tarnished the image of OpenSea with this hacks.
2638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin collapse or mature? on: January 27, 2022, 02:32:03 PM
Collapse or mature it doesnt matter because if we do look upon on the current state of Bitcoin it is really progressive and the recognition that it gets do really make out improvement and we cant really deny that.
It is progressing but failing to break the resistance and more preciously we can say that current bitcoin market is into sideways movement between support levels around $41k levels and resistance around $45k levels. This might lead the market to have similar up and down for 2 more times as well before we are seeing any significant progress. But, the good thing is, usually after a sideways movement do progress in upside.

So, we can assume that bitcoin market is not going to collapse both in long run and in short run. We may or may not have bullish trend this year but we will not have another 80% bearish market this time for sure.
Resistance has been built at the $40.000 mark, I don't believe it crash any further than that. Thus, chances are that we'll experience some time of bear market, staying relatively stable, within $40k-45k level, it has stayed there for quite some time now. To be honest, as it has been mentioned before, I don't really mind, we have a long way ahead of us, at least, for those who are patient enough.

Right, I thought that we will get over $40k or at least touch it because the price seems to be heading on the $38k-$39k, but too much mental barrier I guess. The price then descendent to $35k-$36k.

So we will see what will happen in the weekends, I do hope that it will just maintain the price and no more downturn. At least a good $37k is not that bad at the end of this week or this month. And then we look forward again in February to break $40k.
2639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 27, 2022, 01:56:52 PM
Cavs had a good second half and kept the Buck only at 42 points. But also I would like to point out the second quarter. Kevin Love and Cedi Osman didn't start in first 5 but they got in at the 2nd quarter and they were the big factors in the 39-22 second quarter run. And then Cavs kept the defence strong and Bucks couldn't catch up with them. Their getting the Rondo from Lakers move is proving to be quite beneficial, even though he is not playing so many minutes. Nevertheless, his contribution was well enough to get them ahead. I wonder if they can show enough performance to go far on the playoffs.

I think it was really Kevin Love who glue the team together this season. I mean there are talks that he wants to be traded at the beginning, but it didn't push through. Luckily for him and the Cavs, he did stay and then they become a stronger team. Definitely they are going to the playoffs this year and then could pull surprises or at least push other teams to even 7 games and win the series against top teams.

They could be in the playoffs but I doubt they'll pass the round one, with a team that lacks experience in the playoffs, I don't expect them to succeed right away. It's already a good improvement for them to make it to the playoffs, and I think that's enough for this season, just learn the experience and improve by next season.

Why not though? I mean they won't be facing the top seed for sure and maybe just the 4 to 8 seed. So most likely they will have a good chance to win their series against anyone seeded lower than themselves.

Of course experience is needed in playoffs, but maybe Kevin can really lend his wisdom to his young guys on how to play the playoffs and overcome the gitters and not be rattled.
2640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 27, 2022, 01:25:45 PM
If Inoue would want an impressive fight from Casimero then he wouldn't have to wait this long because when Casimero upset Tete, that was the best timing to challenge him or accept the challenge. Casimero has been challenging him but he seem not responding seriously, so I don't know if he is really interested or just making an excuse so he could not face Casimero.

Casimero's antics got Inoue that is why the latter really want to face Casimero at first but as time goes by and Inoue have realized that whatever Casimero have said on social media is just a way for him to accept the challenge, he no longer interested on fighting him unless it is for the unification of the belt.

Casimero is a bit problematic at the moment as the problems with MP Promotions has not yet been solve and he has no conditioning coach but i do hope that they will patch up the problems with Sean Gibbons before April 23, the scheduled date of the fight.

I thought he part ways with MP and Sean Gibbons? or maybe they didn't settled nicely before he move on other promotional contract?

In that case then he need to talk to Manny personally and settle things with his company. I think Manny will understand if he wanted to separate and join Probellum with Donaire.
