Bitcointalk is not some kind of authority, it's just a platform for users to share information about cryptocurrencies so it could not directly punish someone, but then again it's also true that words are powerful itself SO suppose someone did such thing, then people who viewed either his profile or his project(s) will be informed of his wrong doings/incompetency resulting for people to doubt or not to put their trust on him anymore.

Oh yeah they can always create another account  Cry
2642  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: unable to follow or retweet on twitter account? on: May 07, 2018, 09:47:42 PM
There must be an error message or some kind of information explaining what happened in your notification. Can you post that here?

You're not entirely blocked, it's just that your account is limited.
Anyway, Check here, maybe you have reached the limit? Current Twitter limits
And as the guy above said, maybe you have violated some of their policies? The Twitter Rules

In any case, you should contact twitter regarding this.
2643  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinPot concern and questions on: May 05, 2018, 11:15:44 PM

Can beat them if the storyline is too interesting also the graphics

Well in VN's most people come for the art and stay for the plot so if you really got that two yeah you could beat them however do take note that it will still depend on how will you market your game, particularly if you're just starting to build your name since it could be really tough. Maybe you should try making a teaser or trial game and post it on forums dedicated for VN's and other close fandoms e.g. anime/manga??. Get opinions, make them hyped them update them on your progress.

Also it'll be best to have other payment method aside from bitcoin.
2645  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cryptocurrency market to suffer from strong correction on: May 04, 2018, 09:21:52 PM
Aside from spreading FUD, I'm pretty sure this was posted here to boost their ads earning. I bet the site itself is full of ads-- just don't click the article. In fact, All these supposed-to-be analyst/expert predictions are not even worth reading LOLOL.
2646  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Am I safe ? on: May 04, 2018, 07:11:05 PM
I think the question is why not? The 3 different IP logins is an enough proof that you should be doing "everything" you can to secure your account.

Layered security is always recommended so that if A got bypassed, you've still got other protectors (B,C etc..).

"Hi Joseph

-the bitcoin were credited to the seller's escrow and were bought by somebody else. The best that we can do is ask them to return the money. We are still awaiting a response from them.

-Chad

Thanks for using BitQuick!"

Seller's escrow? Isn't that them? Or is it a third party? Hmmm...But they just said on their previous reply "one of our addresses". Anyway if the escrow is really not them then this matter is out of their hands.

And by the way, the organization has no phone support of any kind nor any contact information other than a support email address.

Try your luck on their social media sites
2648  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That avatar is too big. The limit is 100 KiB. Scale it down or use better compre on: May 04, 2018, 12:32:44 AM
There are a lot of online tools if you search for it-- even a simple "reduce image size" will bring out lots of results but please do note that this will reduce the image quality.
I just did it and here's the result: https://imgur.com/a/2B88tLl

But honestly this shouldn't be your job, so you should also give them a heads up about this.

2649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to convert tokens in MEW to ETH? on: May 03, 2018, 11:18:05 PM

Yes, this helps a lot. But is it safe if I only use keystore file to access MEW? I heard that the issue is not yet resolved regarding the hacking or something in the server of MEW?

I believe that matter has been solved already (Check MEW's reddit--focus on the mods), then again it is still recommended to run it locally: https://github.com/kvhnuke/etherwallet/releases.

Also consider buying a hardware wallet  Cheesy
2650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to do Translations but I have no portfolio. How do I get my first gig?! on: May 03, 2018, 10:34:24 PM
You could try your luck on bountyhive although I'm not sure if they're accepting newbies but it says none of that sort on the rules and guidelines. I just confirmed with one of their staffs that a previous work/portfolio is not a prerequisite to be accepted. And yeah, it seems a couple of jr. members with no prior experience had already given a chance.

You can reach them on telegram, they're active there: https://t.me/bountyhive

2651  Other / Archival / Re: Be careful when searching at Google on: May 03, 2018, 09:08:08 PM
To be fair, i doubt any Google employee have any knowledge about Cryptocurrency and it's services. So it's obvious they wouldn't know whether the advertised website/product is scam or not.

But they're banning cryptocurrency-related ads so there's no way that none of their staffs had no knowledge about it. And actually, bitcoin or not, cryptocurrency or not, the process of determining if something's a scam/phishing should be fundamentally the same. Sadly, same as the guy above, I believe the screening is not done manually but yeah there should be some special cases.

Quote
But i think the real reason is they don't want let their user enjoy decentralized system (which is opposite of their service) or/and don't care whether the advertised website/product is scam or not

Could be, since they are getting a lot of money through this ads. Up until now google still continues to ban bad ads/publishers and change their policies as it's their way of countering this, although I believe that there should be something more they can do aside from that.

At any rate, If someone have been a victim of this, he shouldn't blame google entirely since he's also at fault for not paying attention and blind trust is always a NO NO
2652  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Create an OTC Crypto Company on: May 01, 2018, 01:55:09 AM
So OTC is an altcoin?? and you want to create an exchange. If so, you better consult a lawyer rather than asking here, since you'll be able to get a clearer answer that way. And I think it depends per place where you want your service to be available to...
2653  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New social network platform for cryptocurrency on: May 01, 2018, 01:43:55 AM
I don't like the fact that you can't see any content on this platform, unless you register and log in. I might register if I could see what kind of "Cryptocurrency news and market trends" are available and if they are useful or not.
Is anyone already using coinsmarketbook and can share some feedback with us?

I think it's a strategy LOL, for users to create an account.

Anyhow, It looks a lot like twitter, except for the cryptocurrency theme. As for the content, there's nothing special about it, you could also find similar ones on twitter.
I don't really mind another platform but if there's nothing special about it (something different from the others that makes it special), then I probably won't stick with it.
2654  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitquick on: April 30, 2018, 09:39:59 PM
Watch the tutorials on their site https://www.bitquick.co/how-to. According to it, you really do have to deposit the physical cash yourself  Cry. SO The trick is to not go to bank on Sundays or when it's closed LOL. just clear up some of your sched and plan the said thing.

Anyway, you could use another site with a wide variety of payment methods, like what you've said, localbitcoins, or you can also look here: Currency exchange
2655  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sorry, this IP address has been blocked. If you are using a proxy, VPN or anonym on: April 30, 2018, 08:58:45 PM
Hmmm... How about resetting your router? as I believe you are using a dynamic not static. Also, Contacting your ISP again seems a good shot, as I do think that as a customer, you have the right to complain.

Regarding on getting ahold of their support, Have you also tried to drop a message on their social media site(s)? and maybe they do have an account here.

2656  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoincrack.org review (all bitcoin private keys) on: April 28, 2018, 06:39:34 PM
Waste of time if you want to use it for legit purposes. But I can hardly think of a scam employing this scheme, where is the potential profit? Traffic? It won't be much/ Something else? I'm puzzled.
The profit part is where they claim to "sell" the private key of an address containing 223 BTC for 0.01BTC (or any other address containing BTC if one is found). Doesn't seem to be much else on the page besides that. I hope people don't fall for scams like this, but some people must've gotten scammed already by this.

LOL really? I mean, would anyone be so dumb to believe they will be given, say, 223 BTC if they pay 0.01? This is even dumber than Nigerian scams Smiley

You may find it hard to believe but there are definitely people like that out there. Take a look at the news or search on the internet---or here on forum, people falling for obvious scams are not that rare.
2657  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A tool to avoid scammers on: April 26, 2018, 07:58:50 PM
Mind explaining first, how do they determine if a certain person should be trusted or not??.. Because you can't just expect people to blindly trust someone just because they are listed as "trusted" on a newly created site particularly.

Sites like these are helpful when gathering data to come up with a conclusion but I'm also seeing some people who completely relies on them which is wrong, you gotta do the background checking properly.
2658  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Stolen bitcoins (blockchain.info) on: April 19, 2018, 01:51:53 AM
1) I have a hardware wallet but I didn't carry any coins on it since I thought the service was blockchain.info safe

Well wrong move, be sure to use it now

2) What is the problem to write on the main page blockchain.info - WE are NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything
3) I asked to help me get the coins back or to understand why they were stolen, and not to write tips on what to do with education.

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so once confirm, it's impossible to get it back unless the person who receives them wants it to.

Most importantly, you agreed to their terms

2659  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tradesatoshi is a scam ? on: April 14, 2018, 09:04:02 AM
I haven't used this one but going through its reviews, you won't think that it is, although please note that there are still scam complaints/poor reviews like every other exchange.

Aside from bittrex, I'm still using those exchanges which has tons of scam complaints but only with small amounts and so far trades are smooth.
That said, I think you should be fine as long as you'll trade in small amounts as exchanges are flagging accounts with high amount of money.

Also, You can check a certain coin's status here: https://tradesatoshi.com/Status

Uhhh... Is there really a need for the staffs to be in China? If it is, you better post this on their local board: 中文 (Chinese)

But if you're fine with working online, take a look at this-- they can help you run various campaigns:
