Media reporting now that Durant has reached an agreement with Nets management and will be playing for the Brooklyn Nets this year. I imagine that means Kyrie is staying also so no LeBron Kyrie reunion. I think this is probably the best outcome for everyone, but I did want to see them stir up the league. Should be fun to watch anyway. Two more months…
TBH, many are predicting that this to happen but we still need confirmations like this one. With how the Kyrie and Durant trade talks having no traction at all, this is the best option that the Nets need to do and it happened.

With this confirmation, the Nets are now in the 3rd spot in the odds in some sportsbook for winning the championship. They are 8th when this didn't happen and with their current line-up, I think they can do it. They have so many offensive firepower and they just need another defender in the paint aside from Claxton and I think they can be a championship contender. Durant, Kyrie, Harris coming back, Seth Curry, role players TJ Warren and Royce O'neal and they also have Simmons which is a great defender that can play from 1-5 position. On the other hand though, their 3 all-star players are prone to injuries so injuries might spoil their championship run but I hope it will not happen.

The moment Brooklyn Nets shifted its demands on an Irving trade and demanded that only reliable players will be considered in a possible trade sealed the fate that KD will stay for the next season.

I haven't expected the Nets odds to move to the top 3 after the confirmation. My top 3 picks to win the championships are the Celtics, Warriors, and 76ers. Maybe there are still movements in Brooklyn since there's still a lot of time for negotiations but I am actually happy that Nash remained as he is one of my favorite players in the NBA. But maybe his plays are not fit for Irving who is not a high-level playmaker. And there's also Simmons who can play many positions, and has a good defense but is a poor shooter. Nonetheless, I hope they can contend with the top teams and remain healthy throughout the whole season.

Also, did anyone bet on Leon Edwards? I speculate during the rematch he might not be very underestimated anymore...
I doubt there is anybody here that took a bet on Edwards. I would've rather bet on the two Colby fights and Gilbert Burns than Edwards. Maybe it's just me but I felt like Edwards does not have the confidence to rule a division for long. He is good but somewhat reserved. But he's got a very good team. I love how his team especially his coach tried to empower and bring that fire in him when he was feeling lost and demoralized already.

That shocking knockout will probably give Usman some mental effects like Anderson Silva many years ago.

Group A is kinda one sided and full of sweep matches.

You wanna know how one sided this group is?

This was the odds from Rollbit and I was about to take this bet because I thought it was 1.71 lol. I know that Alliance is pretty bad right now but honestly giving the odds for Aster -1.5 only @1.17 is a bit too much. No one in their sane mind would be willing to take this bet though, Aster need to win two maps for players to win 1.17 lol its just silly

I laughed hard with the odds you are showing. Cheesy Maybe 1.30 +/- something for a -1.5?

Or maybe it is what it is because Aster is showing very strong recently. A solid third place in Arlington Majors and at the moment it is also unbeaten although not against strong teams. Alliance meanwhile is like a dead team with so far no wins over tough teams. Another negative factor is Alliance is also playing with a sub.

OG, Aster and Entity are my favorites to win this tournament. But I would love a SEA team to win too.

I'm surprised most people thought that Wilder is better than Joshua even during their undefeated days. I always see AJ as being more technical and composed than Wilder. During their undefeated days as champions, there were rumors of a unification fight and I saw the odds favored AJ. If AJ is mentally unstable then Wilder is also or maybe even more mentally affected by that embarrassing knockout loss to Fury. Both fighters can get hurt too. Wilder may have the hand speed advantage but AJ has a better defense with his hands always high.

Wilder is scheduled to fight Robert Helenius and we will see if he is back with his confidence. I would also love to see AJ fight someone not that dangerous to get back his confidence as well although we know that his huge contract might need an opponent that is also popular and marketable. Andy Ruiz would be a perfect tune-up but not sure if it makes sense financially due to what happened in their boring rematch. Maybe a new name for AJ like Chisora, Pulev, and Hunter.
2645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 24, 2022, 04:51:17 AM
We knew boxing politics is common taking away huge and fan-friendly fights from its fans. Earlier this year we heard both light-heavyweight champions Artur Beterbiev (18-0-18 KOs) and Dmitry Bivol (20-0-11 KOs) wanting to duke it out for the undisputed belts but it hasn't materialized due to tv networks' differences. IBF, WBC, WBO, and lineal champion Beterbiev is promoted by Bob Arums Top Rank with ESPN as its network while WBA champion Bivol might have remained under Eddie Hearn's Matchroom with its DAZN network.

Last weekend in the undercard of the Usyk-Joshua rematch was a light-heavyweight WBC eliminator. Former lineal super middleweight champion Callum Smith (29-1-21 KOs) won and is now the WBC mandatory challenger. But Top Rank's Artur Beterbiev holds the 3 belts in the division including the WBC while Callum, the same with Bivol is with Eddie Hearn and DAZN. How can Callum, Beterbiev, and the WBC enforce this fight? Or will the WBC issue an interim belt for Callum? Or will Arum persuade Beterbiev to vacate his WBC belt? The most interesting part which I hope the WBC is not scared to do is to call for a purse bid. The biggest money on the table promotes and uses its partnered network.

We knew DAZN has the deepest pocket in boxing right now. But we also knew how Bob Arum and Frank Warren recently defeated Eddie Hearn during a purse bid for the rights of Tyson Fury - Dillian Whyte fight.

2648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Portfolio on: August 22, 2022, 03:06:24 PM
Don't you like bitcoin and ethereum? They are the most reliable of all. For me, if you are interested in investing a portion of your money in cryptocurrencies, bitcoin is a must, and maybe include also ethereum. It's been proven over the years. Although their potential to multiply your profit is not as high as the other coins but you are also at risk of losing a huge portion of your investment. Some coins even die which means your investment will turn into zero.

Looking further into your portfolio, I also have a small amount of polkadot. I have axie infinity tokens because I own more than a hundred pets but I am doubtful about its future, I don't like what its main dev is doing at the moment. And lastly, I am keeping syscoin on my watchlist because of its sudden movement history. Planning to buy syscoin before the next bitcoin halving.
2649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on Psychology & Sociology Perspectives. on: August 22, 2022, 02:48:26 PM
Gambling companies are telling people that gambling is for entertainment purposes. Yet most people entered into gambling thinking they can get rich or at least take sums of money. I bet regularly of course with intentions of winning but the primary purpose is to be entertained. I enjoyed watching my favorite sports games when having bets regardless of the amount.

Gambling traditions do exist and I respect that. But if that certain tradition is wrecking people's lives then authorities need to take action to protect its people. I also heard that Chinese people are keen on finding luck as part of their beliefs but they are also well-disciplined people. And China is one of the biggest volume in the betting industry in the world.
2650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: August 22, 2022, 02:14:58 PM

So after failing to secure a fight with light-heavyweight IBF, WBC, WBO, and lineal champion Artur Beterbiev, the WBA champion Dmitry Bivol will have a mandatory defense of his belt against the undefeated and former super-middleweight champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez. The fight will be on November 5 in the United Arab Emirates. At least the fight is happening on a neutral ground. Expect Bivol to become the betting odds favorite but most likely not that wide over the gutsy Ramirez. Both are undefeated and well experienced against top-caliber fighters but someone's 0 gotta go. It is known that Canelo Alvarez who is fighting GGG next still has a rematch clause on Bivol which might be activated next year.

Boxing record:
Dmitry Bivol 20-0-11 KOs
Zurdo Ramirez 44-0-30 KOs

Hello guys. Can anybody give feedback on my concern? Sports and e-sports betting are not showing on my web browsers? It says "prod20082-23705321.bti-sports.io refused to connect.". Somehow I have no problem accessing the casino and lottery sections. I am just curious how the current NBA teams and their rosters look like in betting outrights. I haven't tried yet downloading the app on my mobile phone though as I prefer web versions.
2652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 22, 2022, 12:51:51 PM
Now that Brooklyn Nets is not interested in future draft picks for an Irving trade, it seems a bit clear that KD is staying? The Nets wanted a good roster indeed to keep KD who's not getting younger. I'm still interested in another shake-up though like what happened to Minnesota Timberwolves.

So Lebron's wish of wanting Irving to play with him in LA is out. With Westbrook's $47 million salary, it seems that the Lakers will be forced to consider more future draft picks if it wants to ship him to another team or they will be forced for him to stay. So, will Westbrook wear skirt again? Cheesy

It's a shame that one judge tried to steal its result. There is no way AJ won 7 rounds. Glen Feldman should be banned from judging again. Here are the actual scorecards in the fight.

Here are the punch stats according to Compubox.

I think they really need to do something about boxing judges because half of the time they seem to be making shit up. Imagine how many boxers lose fights solely because of judges when in reality it should have been the opposite. Personally, I thought there was a couple of other robberies on that card. Richard Rivera was easily the better fighter and I thought Zhang Zhilei probably won as well. They should probably just start using the actual stats to determine the victor rather than the often biased opinion of judges. I also thought it was weird how the judges weren't all from neutral countries and had one from both England and Ukraine. I mean, really? You don't think they could be biased towards their fellow countrymen? In football international matches they always have neutral officials so why not boxing where it would be much easier to influence the outcome of a match when it's pretty much subjective.
Yes, biased decisions are still a huge black eye to boxing. The superstars are the ones that benefits most, guys like AJ and Canelo. Stats alone may not tell the whole story like the impact and damage of power punches and jabs. So it is still difficult to determine. The amateurs used to determine winners thru a points system which was equivalent to punches landed but they shifted to judges now. But at least they have 5 judges to determine a fight result. I would love to see 5 judges in professional boxing too and all of them should also see the punch stats after each round to help their decisions.

All I heard is that a referee is not allowed when one of the fighters is a countryman although I still saw it happen. Boxing's sanctioning bodies are corrupt especially the WBC and WBA. They can twist their own rules for money purposes. It's still purely business and they're taking 3% or less depending on the total money made by the fighters including their PPV shares.

What is the future of AJ ? Would be funny if promotors organize a third fight, like Fury vs Wilder Cheesy
Fury-Wilder III happened because Wilder had a rematch clause. Jealous or greedy Wilder was the reason Fury-Joshua got canceled.

Let's try to compare the scorecards of the judges by scoring the fight based on the jabs and power punches landed per round. The result is 116-112 for Usyk.

It was a great event in Saudi. Usyk a former undisputed cruiser champ is now clearly a future Hall of Famer after becoming the lineal and Ring belt champion left by Fury. And there is no shame in losing to such a great champion. Usyk wanted a showdown with Fury next or he might probably retire. AJ can still become champion again if Usyk retires early and with Fury retiring for good. It's too late but I still want to see AJ against Wilder.

Y'all noticed Edwards imitating the McGregor strut after the fight?
I was actually looking for a better angle of that and then post it here but I couldn't find one. Cheesy

What an upset indeed by Edwards. Edwards will be celebrating his birthday in the next few days and this should be his most excellent birthday present ever. That was sweet revenge after losing to Usman during his early UFC days.

Thanks for the upset. I felt like the division is becoming more exciting and interesting now. How long Edwards can hold the belt? We will see who's the first one to get a title shot from him. Maybe an immediate rematch is looming. Is it going to be either Colby or Chimaev next? I prefer Colby or Chimaev. Still, Edwards as a champion will be an underdog against either of the top 3 ranked contenders.

2656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you use Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2022, 03:58:39 PM
Leading answers are once a month to once a week.

As for me, I use Bitcoin nearly every day because I am into online betting and at times play games in online casinos nearly every day. Other than that, there is not much use case anymore. Before I used to purchase mobile loads and pay my bills with Bitcoin online. Not my country is becoming more strict in regulating cryptocurrencies. What a shame. Even Binance is now in danger of being blocked in my country since it is operating without a license despite its willingness to apply and comply with all the rules.
2657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 19, 2022, 03:38:42 PM
The way I see it, that is Garcia's personality, I mean if he could just emulate Oscar when he was young, no trash talking but just wanting to fight the best. But Oscar protege is different, Garcia want's to get all the attention even not related to boxing. But hopefully him and Haney could go fight at 140 pounds in the future.

Everyone has a different personality, that's him, he is showing his real color, he is like Mayweather who loves to get the attention of the people, who knows that's helping him to gain confidence in the fight and probably make more money. We cannot judge though, he is still undefeated til now, so he deserved huge respect as a boxer.
But it is his choice, he wants to become popular through arrogance and hype. You reap what you sow. So it is normal that he will have a lot of haters and disrespect because of that. He should walk the talk at least. And I would rather have the record of Lomachenko with 2 losses already but is proven and tested.

I expect Ryan Garcia to have his title shot next year. Otherwise, he's becoming a joke. And he will lose that fire in him. He cannot fight bums forever.
2658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taking profits vs holding long term? on: August 19, 2022, 03:09:21 PM
Taking profit and they buy back at the bottom is the ultimate strategy. But there are no such things as perfect trades. I tried different strategies over the years and I can say dividing your capital into long-term holding and the other half will be used to trade actively for profits for some buybacks.

Trading needs effort though, it is time consuming and at times stressful. Whereas long-term holding saves you time and effort and also the stress of an active trader.
2659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: August 19, 2022, 02:17:38 PM
Not a cherry pick but probably a tune up fight for Loma before facing Haney, assuming both of them win.

Hehehe similar reply to @bittraffic, not probably. It certainly is only a tune up fight before his next one in the ring which I speculate might not be for the championship against the winner of Haney vs. Kambosos. It might be Lomachenko's next fight after Ortiz that will be the official championship eliminator. The opponent might also be one of the top 5 ranked lightweight boxers with a name. Ryan Garcia or Isaac Cruz?
I thought the WBO preserved Lomachenko as its mandatory due to the war in Ukraine? And even before this announcement, Top Rank already guaranteed undisputed champ Haney that he will take Lomachenko after his Kambosos fight, it also said that Lomachenko will have a tune-up fight too. So this should be that tune-up fight. Ortiz is an exciting fighter although his low KO rate might mean that Loma can be more aggressive to score a KO.

I knew these Ukrainian fighters aren't really at their 100% until the war is over. But I hope it is still enough to secure their wins. Boxing fans, stay tuned to this weekend's heavyweight championship rematch between Loma's very close friend Oleksandyr Usyk battling against former champ Anthony Joshua.
2660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I trust people who claim to be mining cryptocurrency on their cellphone? on: August 19, 2022, 01:29:14 PM
I heard about that Pi coin for years already. They have a cult community like the old scam coin TBC or The Billion Coin. I keep telling them that it is a nonsense coin, it will never become valuable and no reliable exchange will list it. If mining is that easy then the supply will be too much compared to its demand. Not that mobile phones cannot mine but they aren't built to mine in the first place. I still find it surprising that there are still remaining Pi believers around.
