1641  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 16, 2023, 06:15:50 AM
It happened to me too. Not just once but a lot of times. Some of them borrowed money but never paid me back even a little portion of it. It's disappointing, the amount could be small or not but I felt like I am losing trust every time someone did it to me. It is not that I am rich because I am just living a simple life but I felt like I want to live far away from relatives and if possible without contacts, especially on social media. I understand that as relatives, we got to help each other but for me borrowing money is borrowing and it needs to be paid otherwise they should've just asked for some assistance and not borrowed money because if unpaid, it's already lying or a scam.
1642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 16, 2023, 05:55:26 AM
So around 13 more games left before the regular season ends. These might be the best days to bet during the regular season on the games that involve from rank 4 to 13 in the west. Injuries are a sucker, Phoenix Suns is on a 3 game losing streak now and it is not that far from them falling below the top 8 as many teams are battling for a playoff spot. At Laker land, Lebron James can return but it may be too late if his team cannot hold its position. Personally, I would love to see Damian Lillard and the Utah Jazz inside the top 10.
1643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 16, 2023, 05:24:59 AM
...Anyone though was surprised to see Leonard Ellerbe on the background? The guy with that white beard, he is Floyd's CEO and we all know that Davis didn't renew his contract with Floyd. But according to the news, he will be training at Floyd's gym in Las Vegas, so I guess everything is really cool between the two camps despite Davis no longer under Floyd. And I think it is a advantage for Tank, at least he has someone more experience behind him. And who knows, Floyd might drop to his own gym and still mentor Tank because this is the biggest fight of his career, both of them including Ryan. Goosen's training gym is in LA, so most likely Ryan will train there as he is from California.

So looking at boxing's top librarian Boxrec, Mayweather Promotions is part of this event along with GBP (Ryan Garcia's promoter). TGB is probably the lead promoter here since Brown is always in the middle during pictorials and is usually the promoter tabbed by most PBC events.

Tank probably remained a promotional-free agent like Canelo and is free to fight under any promotions. PBC is the real promoter anyways so if Tank has a managerial contract and wants to continue working with Al then he doesn't really need a promotional contract that will take a portion of his events profits.
1644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: March 16, 2023, 04:38:56 AM
Well, after Fury's financial conditions were satisfied, and now he comes up with new excuses (the option of a rematch, which was originally included in the contract by Fury's team), does anyone else doubt that he is a cowardly piece of shit?
Guys, seriously, give me another version of why Fury is trying to avoid a fight  Roll Eyes
Usyk's team and Usyk himself are already openly mocking Fury's cowardice.

The funny thing is is that it was Tyson who requested the rematch clause and it could come back to bite him. If Tyson loses, especially on points, he will be begging for a rematch. Hopefully Usyk agrees but only if it's 80 / 20 in his favour or something  Grin. Personally I hope there's no rematch clause as we could end up seeing another trilogy holding the entire division up. If it's a good fight and both parties want a rematch then let them do it I guess but having it contractually obligated the loser is obviously going to want another chance to win their belts back but I'd prefer it if the winner just goes on to fight their other mandatories instead.

It's not funny, it's pathetic. Only the blind can't see Fury coming up with all sorts of excuses to avoid a fight. To be honest, I have already “let go” of this situation and I don’t care whether the fight will take place or not, as I already wrote, but the fact that some Fury fans pretend that “everything is fine and Fury didn’t put shit in his own pants” is a little surprising.

And yes, in an ideal world, I would like Usyk to win and offer Fury 5% or some fixed amount for a rematch with the words "bags are not worth more", but unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world. Sometimes third-rate athletes get world PR and recognition, even in football where you can’t shy away from opponents.
Boxing is full of casuals who can't even name some of its world champions. So it is not surprising to see a lot of them continue to praise and defend Tyson Fury and his antics.

And with regards to the possibility of Fury submitting another contract with a rematch clause should he lose the fight, the conditions of the split in the rematch will be written there too. So it's not like Usyk can also demand an 80% split if he gives Fury a rematch. So Fury can say 70% in this fight and maybe 65% in the rematch, Usyk can take it or not fight at all. I missed how boxing in the past where the best fights the best without any complications and heavy demands on each sides.
1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy BNB now? on: March 16, 2023, 04:11:23 AM
Hi guys, Is it too late now to buy BNB? Or can we expect huge price drop in this year?

Are you waiting for BNB prices to return to $24 to $50 per coin?

Until now I did DCA to buy altcoins like BNB, but if you want to buy BNB now, then do some research and see the market situation, BNB coin has a good ecosystem and until now the coin is used in the BSC ecosystem and on the Binance exchange .

That would be crazy if we are expecting BNB to drop $24 to $50 each. It probably means Binance and BSC are in huge trouble and there might be no coming back. That is a 90% drop in value and it might mean that Binance and BSC are dying. FTX dropped hard and it went dead. LUNA was recreated and its founder is still hiding from Interpol and I doubt it will restore its previous market capitalization. USDC dropped but only a small portion like 10% and it is now back to its usual price since fundamentally the company is not dependent on the bankruptcy of SVB whose stake is only a small portion of the overall funds.
1646  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 15, 2023, 06:19:23 AM
AIs can only provide what is available to them. They cannot change the odds nor capable of rigging certain games and odds. Maybe AI in the future can assess whether odds are fair, overstated, or understated so we can avoid and take advantage of the odds that are worth it. But again, the birth of AI also means that casinos and gambling platforms will use them to avoid leverage from each other and possible exploitations on some of its markets. So I don't think AI is able to exploit much on casino games and sports betting markets.
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you Think might aid the global adoption of Bitcoin? on: March 15, 2023, 05:59:21 AM
I disagree that bitcoin adoption in El Salvador failed. It's been legalized only for more than a year. And it's not like fiat money in El Salvador is discontinued and bitcoin is the replacement. Fiat money is still there in El Salvador so bitcoin is legalized but more like an option. It is still growing and we are in a bear market so what do we expect for a currency that is so volatile? Give it time bro before calling the bitcoin adoption in El Salvador a failure. Its economy is not doing well in the first place so that also means doubts when it comes to global investments. But generally, El Salvador did a good job of accepting bitcoin as a legal tender and soon it will reap its benefits. The country just needs to stabilize its economy a bit and upgrade its transportation, security, and internet speed in order for investors and even ordinary people to start investing and traveling to El Salvador.
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 15, 2023, 05:39:18 AM
I cannot really say that gambling is for the strong because it is a sort of entertainment and if we are to follow the rules of a responsible gambler, then everything should be alright. I assume OP's friend is gambling an amount that is not within its limits. Otherwise, you won't make any regrets. You won't regret anything that is done within limits. There were also times that I spend over my limits and it is not good. It was a bad experience but I rather not overthink things that already happened. There are too many things to think about and analyze that can bring us a positive outlook. So we rather move on, learn from our mistakes and change into better persons rather than continue to risk amounts that are beyond our limits for the sake of getting back our previous losses.
1649  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: March 15, 2023, 05:19:03 AM
Much Debt:  few people will have this situation make their life difficult and really hard to go up.  One of the cases I met was that they were poor even though they couldn't afford a roofed house in the rainy and windy season, I asked them why they didn't take out a loan from the bank to repair the house, they replied that they had  too much debt and can't turn the money to pay them and so on.  The reality is that the rich still have debt, but they always have the ability to pay it off, but the poor do not.  It makes them unable to get out of that mentality.

Although I understand that there are too many places in this world that sadly have limited opportunities to offer to their population. The mentality is also very important but it is not that easy to change the mindsets of these people that have zero to limited education.

Even with your example, I do not agree. Loans are not donations and they are supposed to be paid. If these poor people are able to live without quality and solid roofs then making a loan to buy roofs isn't right. I prefer to roll the loan proceeds into a small business or something that will generate income and benefit them in the long term. The profit will be able to buy roofs, pay the bank, and at the same time it will provide regular income.
1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trust in cryptocurrency? on: March 15, 2023, 04:35:31 AM
Cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin are growing at a fast pace. But the growth usually occurs in modern countries with fast internet. In poor places, especially in remote areas with very low to zero internet connection, many of them have no idea about bitcoin. It is also normal that the young generations are the ones open to new technologies. Of course, some old people can adopt innovations, especially well-educated ones. And most of the time the standards do not depend on the remote places or the poor majority as they are always late when it comes to innovations.
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin cannot be a Bank? on: March 14, 2023, 11:54:56 PM
I think you made a wrong interpretation of the tweet. Bitcoin can be some type of revolutionary bank that is unique these days. But do not get confused about the difference between a bank and a bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency, it is not a corporation that is centralized. The best way to compare bitcoin is to fiat. Sooner or later if countries will allow bitcoin to become a legal tender then all the questions you raised OP are possible. Banks and businesses in the future will accept and use bitcoin for their mortgages, house rent, bills, medical bills, and many more.
1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy BNB now? on: March 14, 2023, 11:34:07 PM
It seems that the trend nowadays is on exchanges, coins, and stablecoins. Last year we had LUNA and its stable coin and then followed by FTX and its own coin. This year we should be more careful in investing a big portion of our portfolio in these types of coins. BNB is still part of my 20sh list of coins that I want to accumulate but I will drop it lower than 10%, it could be 5% of my portfolio. The focus should be more on bitcoin which remained intact over the years. 50% or more of my portfolio will be on bitcoin.
1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 14, 2023, 11:14:08 PM
It never came into my mind about being late. It is what it is. Rather than spending time thinking about what happened in the past and the missed opportunities, it is best to just use our brain cells on what the future may come. There's always an opportunity everywhere for us to take advantage of. Hearing about successful stories, I am happy for them and it inspires me to work harder in order to reach their level.

Talking about the past, I am one of those that have an opportunity to become a dollar millionaire last halving but my emotions started to play against me and I also made a financial commitment that was too big for me to handle. And so I made the hard sacrifice of selling my bitcoins ranging from $3k to $4k. It was sad that I sold them at the lowest prices before the 2021 halving. But that was it, I learned the hard way. All I can say is that experience is really different no matter how much knowledge you earned from the past. Emotions are always not based on knowledge but on how big the portfolio is.
1654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 14, 2023, 10:54:07 PM
And as far as Caleb goes:

Quote
“This the best Caleb Plant anybody will ever see.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/caleb-plant-this-best-caleb-plant-anyone-ever-see--173090

So yeah, they have might have unwinding their trainers by now, or slowing it down, and maybe focus on making the weight. So watching what food they take, liquids and vitamins and everything that is getting into their system. It's not just the training that they do in the gym, it's more on the outside preparation for their body to be at the best during the fight.

Yeah, fighters that have ample training time will usually train hard and then slow down in the later stages of the camp focusing more on the weight. David is a huge guy at 168 so he is the one that might spend time more on draining and maintaining weight.

Caleb Plant is still 30 so if there's something to improve, it is more about his technical skills which are already good enough. Caleb needs it as it will be very difficult to brawl and fight David in a physical way. I believe David will enter the ring as the bigger and stronger guy. The only problem with Caleb is if he can withstand some of the heavy punches that will land on him and the physicality of David. Caleb may fall just like in the Canelo fight where he was doing well but was finally caught in the late rounds. Caleb needs to be 100% conditioned here in order to move well and be prepared to do it for a 12-round fight.
1655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my small investment on: March 14, 2023, 10:34:23 PM
We have the same outlook on bitcoin, it will rise further in the near future. You have a good start OP, at least you were able to increase your holdings when it went down to $19k. I am also doing a dollar-cost-averaging because I am also unsure of what bitcoin prices will do this year, it may go up but there is also a chance for it to drop down again. I am just confident that in the year of its halving, bitcoin will pump just like all of its previous halvings and I will not miss this opportunity of a lifetime.
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 13, 2023, 11:29:16 PM
Team Secret is on the eyes of many as of now due to the roster changes that they've recently announced. Now, there's another known team which is the Nigma Galaxy and they're taking another addition not to the roster but to their team with a coach.

They've welcomed "March" as their new coach. After helping Execration to reach Lima major, he's now being taken care of Nigma Galaxy as their new coach.

While the former Nigma's coach, "ImmortalFaith" goes to Geek Slate as their new coach.

As expected, some teams will change in order to catch up. Team Secret just like last season is in a bumpy road and there are too many rivals in the region. March brought Execration into a major but they disappoint in the actual major. Maybe the lack of international experience of the team had mental effects. I am still doubtful on Nigma but we will see, maybe they will do good with March and the new patch. I don't know why Geek Slate brought a coach coming from a team that is underperforming lately.
1657  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you moniter your daily expences without much attention? on: March 11, 2023, 05:10:17 AM
I'm quite surprised by the question. OP, do you just spend money without limits? I just thought that it is normal for us to have a specific weekly or monthly budget allocated for our regular expenses like food, house bills, and maybe tuition fees for your kids if you have them. I have a monthly budget that is not that tight but not that big because I valued regular savings as a very very important part of my regular income. Especially now that bitcoin and crypto, in general, will be heading into a bull run sometime next year. I have my goals and I am hoping for another life-changing gain in the next crypto bull run.
1658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 11, 2023, 04:13:22 AM
Well done, mate. It is really crazy how these misinformed people are directly using bitcoin during scams. This is one of the reasons why I don't talk too much about crypto to my friends and relatives. Some of them thought bitcoin is an investment platform that provides regular returns. I don't want to waste my time arguing with them. I even heard some people talking about how unsecured bitcoin investments are after the closure of FTX. Well, then I cannot wait for the next bull run and ignore them when some of them start talking to me again about bitcoin.
1659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 10, 2023, 02:37:37 PM
^Yes, what a turn of events for the Suns, as Durant seems to be injured again, and if he can't play throughout the rest of the season, then I doubt that they can make it to the finals again.

I guess this is what they have to pay now, giving up the 'twins', and for now the risk didn't pay, just saying.

So another adjustment has to be made, and Booker has to carry, but not sure if he can do it.

Today's latest update on the injury of Kevin Durant. It says that he will be out for 2 to 3 weeks since he needs to get into the rehabilitation process. A re-evaluation of his injury will be updated after 2 weeks. So here we go, Durant seems possible to play in the closing games of the regular season and worst case scenario, he can still play in the playoffs. The current active roster of the Suns is still good although we cannot deny how competitive the western conference is now. Even Utah Jazz and Portland are capable of entering the playoffs so if a string of bad performances by the Suns can eliminate or send them into a play-in.
