1681  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: March 06, 2023, 09:32:29 AM
This is a common problem not limited to just a few but a lot. I even had this borrower that was not able to pay me. She gave me a lot of garbage excuses and the worst one is she had no extra money that time because she spent it with her and her daughters at a facial beauty clinic. I was so mad that I didn't respond in order to control myself and never made a contact with her again. My father bought the loan and I have no news if he was able to collect it. I don't understand these people. Another one also failed to pay me because he bought a new mobile phone which is not really needed knowing he's got a phone already. That guy never paid me. In my life, I probably lost thousands of dollars already worth of unpaid debts and that includes 1 bitcoin in late 2017. The guy purchased a brand-new SUV. That guy blocked me already including her wife on social media.

Most people are driven by money, greed, and luxurious ambitions but are not working to achieve them fairly.
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 06, 2023, 09:07:00 AM
I just saw the news about Ja Morant. Big contract, big endorsements, rising NBA career and he ends up doing silly things like this. I think he needs a good mentor before anything else.

After all, he is just a kid yet to be a man who got a huge contract worth $200 Million. So it's somehow expected that he will end up doing foolishness and buying some expensive things in just a whim or if he feels like it but I didn't expect that he would end up doing this. What he lack is a mentor that will guide him professionally and as an individual to avoid doing such thing again in the future.

For sure there are too many kids, especially in Memphis, his home state, and other parts of the US that idolized him and might also do the kinds of stuff he showed in the public. Let's expect he will get one as his team and the NBA itself are probably giving him the advice to live rightfully. I like his confidence because it drives him to become greater than the greats but he should also listen to the advice given to him and avoid unnecessary scandals that can ruin his reputation and affect the lives of his young die-hard fans.

Finally, a DOTA 2 event that I profited from. Smooth performance by Team Liquid before Boxi got sick. Hoping for a fast recovery on Boxi as Liquid seems unbeatable with him. Nonetheless, GG did it well and never gave Liquid the kind of momentum needed.

And as for SEA? I am happy Talon went 3rd and I was lucky enough to stay away from betting against them. Probably the highest SEA achievement since the pandemic. Talon was only 3rd in SEA and barely made it at Lima so hopefully, the region is inspired and do well in the next majors.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect from cryptocurrency? on: March 06, 2023, 08:08:25 AM
The world economy will recover and won't turn worst as some others predicted.
Are you afraid of some predictions related to the issue of recession?
I personally never believe that issue, I think it is only FUDs. The world economy is fine, it recovers gradually after we have a severe crisis during covid 19.
Of course, we are all afraid of recessions and that probably includes a lot of rich people as well. Although the rich are the ones that can easily take advantage of a recession due to their deep capital and influence. I agree, we are recovering and we will be fine.

But I guess I am not selling my house anymore.
Why do you need to sell your house?  Huh
More capital to invest? Not just in crypto of course. I am sensitive and allergic to a lot of stuff so the best place for me to live is near the sea. This is my new goal though and hopefully, the next bull run will help me accomplish it. Grin

Just most of my stocks' investments will be shifted to cryptocurrencies by this year or next year.
If I were you, I won't shift my stocks investment. Diversifying assets is better, why don't to have assets both in stocks and crypto together? However, it is your right to shift it or not. DWYOR
Stocks performed badly in my native country mate. I no longer trust our government and these big corporations only care about profit and not for everyone. Although I might keep some stocks and I can also add more investment when I feel good about it.
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 06, 2023, 07:42:46 AM
I am probably going to have to go with Devin Haney on this match. Not only is the dude massive but unlike Lomachenco, he is more on the offensive than the defensive side and I think that might be a better advantage. If Devin Haney beats Vasiliy Lomachenko then he could move up to 140 pounds and go straight into a non-title with Teofimo Lopez. And that is definitely a match I would love to see. So perhaps its more of a wish than a confident bet on my side. They are very well matched in skill and strength. This is one of the "not sure if I can pick a side" matches.

It's difficult, I don't know for now who I could bet on, it cannot be denied that Loma has a very good technique, besides he has a rude style, which comes from the old school and is what most of us like to see, a lot action, Haney is a boxer who is very prepared, apart from the intelligence that he applies in the fight it is a talent that few use, most focus on his strength and that his blows are forceful enough to generate a knockout, he is not bad, but I personally see in boxing that the best strategist is the one who wins, and I see that characteristic or talent more in Haney.
Based on the previous performance and the age of Loma, I am pretty sure Haney is the favorite in this fight although not by a mile. I am liking the Haney by decision. Haney will be very focused on winning here, with no risks and he will not care if the fight becomes boring or not. Although, I would love Lomachenko to win and achieve his early goal of becoming an undisputed champion.

With regards to a possible Haney- Lopez duel, I think Haney will win a decision as well.

Devin Haney: “The Safe Bet Would Be Tank, But You Can’t Count Ryan Out”

...

Quote
By: Sean Crose

“I think its a good fight,” Devin Haney told Marcos Villegas of FightHub in a recently released video. “Ryan (Garcia) has the height, the length, the speed, but Tank has that power. He has that neutralizer.” Indeed he does. Baltimore native and multi divisional titlist Davis has won all but two of the fights on his unblemished resume within the distance. Still, Haney warns in the video that Garcia will have effective weapons of his own when he steps into the ring to face Davis for their April 22nd superbout.

Source: https://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/devin-haney-the-safe-bet-would-be-tank-but-you-cant-count-ryan-out/
I am not really that hype in this Tank vs Kingry, maybe because this is not a title fight. But Haney and Loma are right, Tank has the edge over Kingry. Kingry has been nearly a year inactive and probably becoming lazy that is why he was kicked out by Canelo's coach. Height is not always an advantage especially if you are thin in a division. Kingry being tall is very prone to Tank's heavy body attacks and we all know how powerful Tank is. I am liking a Tank KO/TKO here. And hopefully, the winner of this fight steps up and targets the real champion. There's only 1!
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 06, 2023, 06:45:55 AM

So finally Inoue vs Fulton is officially a go. The fight will happen in Inoue's hometown of Yokohama, Japan. Prior to this, we already heard that Fulton was given the blessing of PBC boss Al Haymon to face Inoue without PBC and its networks included in the event. Top Rank and its partner ESPN and Inoue's local partners are the ones handling this event. Hopefully, this is the start of PBC being open to its fighters from other promotions and networks although this is not possible without the eagerness of Fulton to face boxing's numero uno/dos Naoya Inoue.

Speaking of pound-for-pound ranking which is a big deal in boxing, an Inoue win will surely secure its top spot at The Ring which listed Uysk as its top. Meanwhile, Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) ranked Inoue as its top. TBRB was created when the bible of boxing, The Ring was purchased by GBP, branding it not independent and unreliable anymore due to the risk of being influenced by the promoter, its network, and the sanctioning bodies. Although I have to admit that if Usyk wins the undisputed belt at heavyweight, he deserved the top spot.

The race is still on for the first fighter to become a 2-division undisputed in this 4-belt era. Usyk is probably the first one to try since he is nearing to reach a deal with Tyson Fury. Inoue is possibly next if he hurdles Fulton and becomes the WBO and WBC champion while the remaining 2 belts are already held by a single champion, Murodjon Akhmadaliev. Terrence Crawford should have had the best chance earlier including a 3-division undisputed attempt but it seems like PBC is blocking him to accomplish history at the cost of its fighters.
1687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT profit through Brave ads on: March 05, 2023, 07:14:40 PM
I am not updated with Brave and BAT. But it seems like some people thought that you need KYC in order to use the browser? KYC is only needed when withdrawing the earned tokens. You can just ignore and leave those tokens or donate it if someone do not want to do KYC. I'm not going to do a KYC either if the amount is immaterial but if it reaches like $300 during a bull run then I will do a KYC like what I did on Binance and the other exchanges I used before. And from my understanding, Brave is not the one asking for KYC when collecting the tokens but the 3rd party wallet that the tokens are deposited.
1688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 04, 2023, 12:55:22 PM

i thought the match is for tomorrow lol.

I'd be going for -1.5 for Shopify Rebellion in here simply because they are well rested and had the chance to watch how EG plays and learn of some of the strategies they have used during their series with Team Aster. Favorites are SR right now but the -1.5 maps option is still juicy enough for the taking if you want some extra risks to take. I wouldn't call it SR win too early, but with the state of EG right now--drained and tired from the previous match--it's easier for me to favor SR. It will also add if Rtz gives us some more highlights during the day that favors their team to advance in the tournament.

That's old EG vs New EG. -1.5 on Shopify could be a bit risky as EG has crowd advantage and they are playing fairly well. RTZ has been looking good though and has had a fair few highlights(especially, his SF). Shopify vs EG starts in another 15 mins. Should be a great contest. Shopify should win it but it could be close.

The back to back games might favor EG's momentum plus their crowd advantage, but I don't think it's enough if you're physically and mentally tired playing for hours straight with the highest pressure there is. Sound cues from the crowd might help EG, but I think SR can also use it to their advantage and rethink of their moves and let EG come to them. Overall, I weight SR's chances to move forward to be bigger than EG. Strat wise and meta wise, SR has it, while EG so far has won most of their matches through clutches. If they can't make it work, they're basically done for.

It's a sweet victory by Shopify Rebellion the former rosters of EG. Although fatigue of EG was probably a factor, SR was just chilling, waiting, and observing. Meanwhile, there are a lot of reports about how the crowd uses whistles trying to warn EG during smokes. Fly also observed it during EG's series with Aster. Good thing SR was able to figure it out so they secretly knew before their series with EG about the whistles. This major has a lot of negative feedback.

Meanwhile, the unfortunate absence of Boxi on Liquid made them the slight underdog against GG. I have my bet on GG and on SR too since it is only waiting, resting, and observing on the Talon vs Entity series.
1689  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: March 04, 2023, 12:16:45 PM
This year will be a combination of both bears and bulls. Probably no clear winner since this year is accumulating period for the next year's bitcoin halving. I can see bitcoin reaching a minimum price of $35k this year but I am not sure if it can stay at that price by the year's end as we may be able to touch $19k too. I just expect a lot of swings this year but generally, I will give a slight edge to the bulls considering that this year will be way better than last year. Personally, I am also undecided if I start accumulating altcoins this year or early next year.
1690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect from cryptocurrency? on: March 04, 2023, 11:54:26 AM
The world economy will recover and won't turn worst as some others predicted. The bitcoin halving will remain a crypto bull run next year and the following year. I expect ATHs will be reached once again on bitcoin and some altcoins. I am getting pumped and excited although I really really need more funds in order to take advantage of the coming bull run. But I guess I am not selling my house anymore. Just most of my stocks' investments will be shifted to cryptocurrencies by this year or next year. I expect a lot from crypto next year and the following year. I am really hoping that I can recover everything that I lost last 2018, the pandemic and global crisis wherein lots of businesses were closed.
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next crypto craze? on: March 04, 2023, 11:31:20 AM
Now my list of potential tokens to buy is getting near 20. Cheesy The most talked about nowadays is AI because of Chat GPT. More and more projects that are based on AI will continue to grow. We can probably pick some of them and ride with them in the coming bull runs but I probably not hold them by the end of 2026 unless we can see great products and adoption. Next year is already the bitcoin halving and we will have more to choose from as I believe that NFTs, web3, metaverse along with AIs will be the ones getting the hype. And I am excited as always.
1692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 04, 2023, 11:11:04 AM
What an ugly game between the Clippers and the Kings, Sacramento took a double digit lead by the Clippers comes back and take a 1 point lead. Then Sabonis sinking FT to take back and then Paul George missing the 3 in the last seconds that could have give them the W.

So still winless for the Clippers since acquiring Westbrook although he had a good game again as a Clipper and he was dare to shoot a 3 and made 1.

Clippers now down to 8th spot, as the Wolves won over the Lakers tonight, surpassing them.

I was cheering for Sacramento Kings in this game. I was a bit nervous when Paul George became hot in the remaining last minute of the game. Luckily, he was not able to convert his last shot that would have ended the Clippers' losing streak. Westbrook performed well although his lack of 3-point shooting ability will cost part of their offense. 16 more games for the Clippers before the end of the regular season. This is probably the best time to bet during the regular games, especially on the remaining teams that are fighting for their playoff spots.

And now the Kings are on a 5-win streak and are getting near to 2nd seeded Memphis Grizzlies.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 04, 2023, 10:27:18 AM
I remember when Inoue turned pro, he was hyped a lot in Japan. The kid refused to continue as an amateur after failing to qualify in the Olympics and went to pro. He picked a Ph national champion with a decent record and I thought about how he dared an experienced pro on his debut. I was hoping Inoue will lose. We'll then, Inoue stopped his foe in his debut and after just 3 wins, he dared to face future world champion Taguchi and won. The rest is history, after 5 wins he fought for a world title, becoming the fastest Japanese to become a world champion and breaking the record of the current 115 champion, Kazuto Ioka.

Now there is no stopping for Inoue's ambitions as he wants to become a 4-division world champion and this time in order to match Ioka's 4-division championship again, the most in Japanese boxing. We will see if Fulton allows that to happen.
1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 02, 2023, 10:19:31 AM
Well said OP. Gambling is supposed to be fun and relaxing if we know our limits or it will turn into bad. It's like eating, eating too many turns into bad. Spending more than our budget is bad. All of us want to have a portion of our income for fun and relaxing and gambling makes no difference to watching movies, drinking liquor, shopping, or traveling. I feel pity for those poor people who are addicted to gambling. Maybe it's the lack of education and understanding which is why they cannot stop the urge to gamble.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 02, 2023, 09:58:27 AM
People are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Spence vs Thurman fight, which is one of the biggest fights of the year even though it's not a title fight.

I think it's not. People are not eager to watch Spence vs Thurman because that was a disappointment.

Spence vs. Crawford is the one that people want to watch. Another thing, if not against Crawford, Spence should defend his title at 148 but instead, he will fight at 154. Thurman can be a mandatory challenger too at 148 but in the end, they will fight at 154 with no title at stake.

How can people be interested in watching this match if that's pure nonsense?

Definitely, the most anticipated fight that we want in this division is Spence vs Crawford. And now we have [Boxing]: Eimantas Stanionis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr - April 29, which is a true 147 lbs fight.

Then the David vs Garcia and Haney vs Loma, I think this is the fight that boxing fans are willing to pay to watch live and in PPV. This fight is just for Spence to move on because of the failed fight with Crawford and then picking as somewhat a still good boxer in Thurman but no belt on the line. So in cases he lost, he can go back to 147 and defend his belt. Very wise decision on the side of Spence, and too bad that Thurman want's to be his dance partner.

For me, this fight is a disappointment as well and it has gotten worse after Spence wanted the fight in the higher division and the lame WBC allowed it. But I believe this fight is still big. Maybe a minimum of 400k PPV buys but I hope I am wrong and people should realize that this is a nonsense fight. But this is all about business. If novices Jake Paul and Tommy Fury were able to stage a big fight then most likely many fans will also watch Spence and Thurman as both are the most popular in this division right now. Most PPV buyers anyways are casuals since there is only a handful of boxing hardcore who knew the real situations.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 02, 2023, 09:24:47 AM
Maybe there are things that cannot be changed in months and even a year. Magsayo's stamina has been an issue long before and yet it remains an issue. The good thing here is Magsayo in spite of fighting a taller fighter with more reach does not need to chase since Figueroa is a brawler. Figueroa is probably not going to run as seen from his previous fights so he will be hittable by Magsayo's power punches. The problem though is when Figueroa won't get hurt by Magsayo's big punches. And once Figueroa becomes confident, I have doubts about Magsayo's ability to fight in a brawl. Magsayo's lack of stamina and the body punches from Figueroa might bring an end to this fight. So I am rooting for Magsayo's big punches to hurt and stop Figueroa in the first half of the fight.

Mark Magsayo should be able to hurt Figueroa in the early rounds because that way he would take out the confidence of the latter to engage as the fight progresses. We all know that Figueroa has a granite chin so I'm not so sure if Mark could KO him unless he could land those bombs with blinding speed. Also rooting here for Magsayo and I'm hoping that could score points in the early rounds as his opponent is a slow starter, that might make the difference in this match.

More betting options now for this fight and that Mark Magsayo by decision @6.40 is very tempting for me.

I didn't think that the odds for a KO and decision for Magsayo are that high. But I always pick the analysis from betting companies rather than the media who can talk all they want without risking money. Magsayo winning a decision IMO would be the last thing I can think of. Magsayo should win by a KO/TKO or he is the one getting stopped by Figueroa. Magsayo though has a good chin but Figueroa is a body puncher as well and combined with Magsayo's lack of stamina. It spells disaster in the second half if Magsayo cannot hurt Figueroa.
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT profit through Brave ads on: March 02, 2023, 08:49:08 AM
I am a long-time Brave user here and I love the browser. No ads, trackers, or scripts. I donated the rewards over the years but it was only a few months ago that I started to not touch them. For now, I only have around 30 BATs which is around $8 something. I am planning to hold them until the next bull run and see how far it goes. ATH of BAT was nearly $2 and there is a high chance that it could reach $3. So a hundred BATs could be $300 by then. And that's coming from using a browser that is actually my choice even without its rewards.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 02, 2023, 08:18:03 AM
Next game will be PSG.LGD vs Team Spirit. I was expecting these teams to be the favorite but one of them will have to go home after this series. I think Team Spirit is a better team but we cannot deny how dangerous PSG.LGD can still be. Another exciting game coming up.
When ame and faith_bian retires, LGD is no longer the same but still they're a favorite team but then yeah, someone has to go home.

Just a few minutes until the game starts.

They remained the favorite despite having new players because they were able to surprise us after dominating and nearly having a flawless performance in the Chinese qualifiers. Many thought that the other Chinese teams are the ones to dominate after Ame, Faith_bian, and XinQ aren't playing with PSG.LGD anymore. How I wish the team was complete in this Lima Major. Not saying Old Eleven is that bad, but the roster that was able to have great teamwork during the Chinese qualifiers would've fared better. Hopefully, in the next majors, we cannot see teams that are incomplete, especially visa issues which is too weird knowing these players had been playing in many different places for a long.
1699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 02, 2023, 07:25:04 AM
Congratulations. That was an unbelievable feat. Just this week I tried doing multi bets although I included some matches and sports that I already didn't watch closely. After losing some tickets, I gave up. But after reading this inspiring story, I am thinking of doing it again. And just like everyone else, I am curious if you will share your next multi-bets. I'll give it a try and see if I can get some of your luck. Grin
Don’t panic and jump in to the gamble by just reading someone story. If you jump into gambling only by hearing other people's stories, it will bring you bigger losses.  You will never win big prizes by following other people's stories.  Big prizes are not always won.  It suddenly gets to someone. You can get it too, but neither you nor anyone knows when.  You can try but never panic. Keep gambling with a cool mind

No worries. I never panic about anything mate. And I won't just jump completely without checking it. And besides, if I ever follow OP's bets, it will be very small amounts that won't hurt my feelings if it loses. It would be dumb if people believes that there is such a thing as called sure-bets. Multi-bets are the most difficult in sports betting so we better expect their low chances of winning. Maybe $10 or a little more or less will be my range. If a $300 ticket can win $417k then a $10 ticket can probably get $10k when lucky.
1700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fruit of greed is never good,, on: March 01, 2023, 02:02:09 PM
That is why it is really important to know the basics and understand the dos and don'ts of bitcoin investing. Although OP's friend is greedy, most likely that the person didn't know the dangers of losing bitcoins by just connecting to an unknown site. If the plan is to hold it long-term and not traded actively, it should be stored in a hard wallet. Another thing is privacy, avoid telling the whole world that you own a bitcoin. It could be someone who knew that OP's friend has bitcoin so they targeted him.
