...Speaking of PSG.LGD, they're not completely going there as their pos 3 have been rejected and got to face a visa issue so he'll be switched by a stand-in player, old eleven.

Not cool. We just started the season and here comes this visa issue again. Although we do not really know the exact reason and it might be valid. But Peru being not noisy when it comes to world politics just like Singapore, I expect that country to be less harsh when it comes to visa processing. And with the new rules on DPC penalties, it hurts already for PSG.LGD. Let's just hope that the next hosts in the coming majors and the TI itself are countries with a neutral stance and not noisy on world politics to avoid possible visa problems.
1782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 09, 2023, 10:59:14 AM
Inoue's fans, what can you say about this?

https://www.ringtv.com/649277-exclusive-stephen-fulton-and-trainer-say-beating-naoya-inoue-in-japan-is-key-to-respect-in-america/

They really think that it's a big war and they need to win so their country will be respected.
Looks like they are the ones thinking that way, it's not the battle of USA vs JAPAN, this is a sport, it's boxing and entertainment.
Well, if they think that way, good for them as that means they'll have to work hard to find a way to beat Inoue.

What a weird article posted on Ring's website. I think the point is about Fulton not getting the attention and big respect in the US even if he owns 2 belts while Inoue is glorified not just in Japan but in the whole world. Inoue is ranked 2nd best pound for pound in the world and beating him would make Fulton very popular and probably get ranked in the top 10 p4p by The Ring.

I hope everything is finalized soon since this is a great fight. Fulton might think that Inoue's punches are just the same or even lesser than those of Brandon Figueroa whom he survived and won a very close fight.
1783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 09, 2023, 10:39:42 AM
Earlier, Moloney and his team were excited to face Donaire and hoped to bring the fight to Australia. Things changed though when Moloney's promoter Bob Arum said that he do not want to deal with Donaire's promoter Probellum due to its connections with the Irish crimelord Daniel Kinahan. Personally, I am doubtful about Arum's alibi. Maybe Arum just wanted an easier opponent for Moloney.

I think Donaire has no choice because he is not ranked in the top 3 of the other sanctioning bodies. He will have to wait for the WBC's official statement as to who will be his opponent for the vacant belt. WBC ranked 3 is Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai but the Thai is scheduled for February 25. Maybe the WBC and Donaire will wait for the result but what if the Thai lose that one?

Ranked 4 is Raymart Gaballo whom Donaire already beat. But Gaballo is also ranked 4th by the WBO which means he is likely to face WBO #1 Moloney since ranked 2 and 3 Rodriguez and Astrolabio are already mandated by the IBF to start its negotiations. I think we will just have to wait here as even both Rodriguez and Astrolabio are not guaranteed to happen as they are also ranked high in the other sanctioning bodies.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: February 08, 2023, 02:55:52 PM
I didn't realize that Tim Tszyu is already inactive for nearly a year. But it could a blessing in disguise, I don't really see him winning against Jermell Charlo. Jermell Charlo would've been too fast, too strong, too experienced, and too powerful for Tim. Tony Harrison is a good test and I want to see if Tim has improved a lot and if he is ready for the undisputed champ. If this fight is staged in the US, I'm pretty sure the odds would've been closer than what we are seeing at the moment. Tony Harrison is a very confident guy and is the only one that blemished Jermell's record although he lost in the rematch, it was very close before he was stopped in the 11th round. Hats off to Tim for not taking an easy fight.

On the other hand. It seems like Jermell has overdue mandatories already. Sebastian Fundora deserved a title shot rather than that worthless WBC interim. We'll see if Charlo wants a tune-up in his return or if he will right away face any of his mandatories.

1787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏅 Paris 2024 Olympic 🏊 Discussion & Predictions 🤺 Summer Games 🏋️ 🥅 🚴 on: February 08, 2023, 12:34:41 PM
I'm curious if chess a very old game that is played worldwide is going to be finally admitted to the Olympics. Esports is another type of sport that is growing rapidly and some of it and its events are bigger than many physical sports. Or maybe esports should organize its own event like the Olympics. That would be cool too.

Nonetheless, I always watch the Olympics ever since. I will be focusing mostly on boxing and basketball. Swimming and tennis are also interesting. I also hope that the Olympic committee one day allows no age limitations on football.
1788  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 08, 2023, 11:54:58 AM
My hat's off to you for having that mindset while you're still young. People with mindsets like yours are the ones to become rich in the near future.

Focus on your studies first. If you have free time, balance it between sideline jobs and enjoying yourself. Do not get stressed a lot unless your parents are also struggling to provide for your basic education wherein you really need to focus your extra time on getting sideline jobs. If you have savings, you can divide it been investing in bitcoin and keeping the other half on fiat because the crypto market is not that easy to predict too. Investing is not a guarantee to earn income nor can keep your funds from losing. So always keep the balance as if you are also diversifying.
1789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I feel happy on: February 08, 2023, 11:34:32 AM
I honestly do not understand why age matters in investing. People here do not care about age mate. There is no discrimination here on race, gender, or age whatsoever. But maybe your call to elderly people and your age range with the same mindset of yours might elevate them and boost their confidence that investing knows no age limit.

Galileo Galilei built his own high-magnifying telescope in his mid-40s. The founder of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts built his first hotel when he was in his late 40s. We, humans, continue to develop as we age.
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: February 08, 2023, 11:02:51 AM
There are also a lot of promising altcoins although Ethereum seems to be the only one that is consistent for many years. Despite the risk, there are too many people like me that are willing to risk on some altcoins at the top or even the low market cap coins for the reason that they might do a x10 to x100 during a bullish season. It's been proven anyways, only that the chances are also slim, especially for the low-cap coins. We really need effort to do research and only risk a small amount of our overall portfolio.
1791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not invest in crypto from loans. on: February 08, 2023, 10:41:39 AM
Even when I was a newbie, I kept hearing it a hundred times about investing an amount we can only afford to lose. Loan proceeds are not savings, it is not extra money and it is not an amount we can afford to lose.

I'm just sharing my current situation. I've been mentioning even here in the forum too that I am tempted to sell my house in order to invest more into crypto, especially on bitcoin while the halving is nearly a year away. So just today, some of my crypto friends advised me to just take a loan and make my house collateral in order to bargain lower interest rates. Not that I will follow their advice but I am so surprised that they were already taking loans earlier. What surprised me most is their interest rates ranging from 0.39% to 0.69% per month up to 3 years. I just can't believe especially that 0.39% because the standards in my country's loan interests ranged from 18% to 24% per annum.
1792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: February 07, 2023, 04:04:47 PM
It is a good idea but another question might arise again, does Facebook accept bitcoin as a payment option when you want to create ads? Because the last time when I tried creating a Facebook page for a friend when it was clicking the payment option, I didn't see bitcoin has a payment option. I saw only USD, EURO and NAIRA from my country's end. If you want to accept BTC in your business then you don't have to look the volatility of BTC  because that the nature of it. So as business person it is you will know how to manage the situation at hand.

If you want to add BTC in your social media pages, you can manually state in there even though it is not in app or the site for people or viewers to know that you also accept BTC.

Facebook is an American company and there are only 2 countries (El Salvador and the Central African Republic) so far that lawfully accept bitcoin as a legal tender so we may not see a bitcoin payment setting on these big social media giants. OP can easily mention it in its posts though.

Some business establishments convert bitcoin payments into fiat right away to avoid its volatility. But personally, if I am the one owning the business and it is still small, I will HODL bitcoin payments and only convert it at least in 2025 or after the halving year.
1793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 07, 2023, 03:41:49 PM
As for the venue, they are talking about 3 possibilities, (a) MGM Grand Garden Arena, (b) T Mobile Arena, and (c) Allegiant Stadium.

So they are all in Las Vegas, the gambling capital so expect a lot of money going to flow not only in this fight, but in the casino's surrounding it. There has hasn't been a boxing event in Allegiant Stadium, the home of Las Vegas Raiders who reported to have a sitting capacity of 70,000.

MGM has 20,000 and T Mobile Arena 17,000 sitting capacity.

So let's wait till the final contract has been signed and if they are looking to sit more boxing fans, Allegiant Stadium might be the good choice here.

This might go to the Allegiant Stadium, I reckon. The organizers and promoters of boxing have always been similar in promoting their projects. They want to get as much people to buy their tickets as possible and make as much money as they can before the next promotional event hehehe.

This is Canelo's prediction for this fight.

Predictions are coming thick and fast, and Canelo is the latest to pick his winner. The undisputed super middleweight champ told ES News he’s choosing ‘Tank’ Davis to come out on top of a close contest.

“I think Tank has more experience. He’s got more things in his boxing skills. I think Tank, but it’s gonna be a good fight.”

Source https://boxing-social.com/news/canelo-on-gervonta-davis-vs-ryan-garcia/
At least Canelo is being honest and chill despite his past issues and differences with Ryan. With regards to the venue, a stadium might be cool to cater to more audiences but the organizers might opt for smaller, easier-to-manage, and boxing-proven venues like the MGM. They can easily match the gate revenue by increasing the price of the tickets. There are a lot of rich people regularly traveling to Vegas.

But the main issue right now is who will promote and what network will telecast if a rematch clause is activated. I cannot believe they are confident that this fight is happening yet this one which is very important is not yet agreed upon earlier. PBC showing its toxicity in boxing once again. Al Hymen is greedy once again despite his fighter being clearly the favorite. Obviously, GBP and DAZN should be the ones handling if ever a rematch is happening.
1794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 07, 2023, 03:19:21 PM
So I think what he did right now is a smart move since while still he can keep accumulating while there are still big offers to you and he can make his future more secure with that.

As ranked Rank 2 in the Bantamweight even after losing to Inoue, it just makes sense that Donaire will get some big opportunity once Inoue moved up weight. I agree with you that as long as there's a big opportunity, do not hang the gloves yet.

Unfortunately, what a crap happened that this fight against Moloney won't be materialized. Moloney is really my preferred opponent for Donaire to see if the Filipino Flash can still match with top bantamweight boxers aside from Naoya Inoue.

Fighting for a title again is a good opportunity for Donaire although I am not sure if he can really get his wish of getting a title shot in the super fly for his chance of becoming a 5-division world champion. That would be very historic for him as he can join Leonard, Hearns, and Mayweather. De La Hoya got 6 and Pacman got 8. Maybe if he wins this belt, he can offer any of the champions at super fly especially Estrada for a double-division title fight. This means they will fight at the super fly limit but at the same time, Donaire is also defending his WBC bantamweight belt.

Donaire might have a lot of opportunities since he is a clear future Hall of Famer. I just hope Rachel will prioritize Donaire's health and focus on that superfly dream this year and if they don't get it, her ward should retire for good. I don't want Donaire to follow the steps of ex-champ Jab Judah who was tempted to fight at 42 years old and was later hospitalized for brain bleeding.

Maybe its better for OP to close this thread now since Donaire vs Moloney  is no longer happening and there's nothing to discuss about more further updates regarding this match.

Let's give at least a few days to give way for posts related to Donaire-Moloney not being spammed or mentioned on other threads. The recent news referring to Moloney backing out with the mandatory fight was still hot and fresh though and still makes sense to discuss.
Yes, and as mentioned, all are still possible until new deals and announcements are made. The WBC hasn't made another official mandatory yet. Moloney's camp didn't mention either as to which belt they are really trying to pursue. It's still complicated as Moloney, Astrolabio, Rodriguez, WBC, IBF, and WBO are all interconnected with their decisions.
1795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 06, 2023, 04:17:59 PM
Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic duo would be unstoppable as long as they'll create a good bond, you know, play like brothers to achieve one goal, which is the championship.

This we will have to see, both are alpha players, so only one could be the leader of the team. I know that Kyrie as experience playing with Lebron and KD but Luka is different, so let's see if the marriage are going to be successful as Irving is now in the West.
Kyrie needs to adjust, Luka is still the best player of the team, and most likely he will be the one bringing the ball or act as a PG which suppose to be the role of Kyrie. If this is like a Lebron and Kyrie time, then I guess these two will have a decent chance to bring the team to the Western conference finals, or even the NBA finals.

Irving is a one time champion, he has experience in the Finals series, so he can help the young Mavericks in case they'll reach at that level.

But let's hope it will not happen.

Kyrie Irving could turn Mavericks’ dream backcourt with Luka Doncic into a nightmare

I am one of those guys that don't like Kyrie Irving. He is a talented athlete but he is so toxic and I really think he is not worth it, especially when in tandem with another ball handler like Luka. His best years were only when he was in Cleveland. After that, he is either injured or he is busy spreading his toxicity when healthy. Good thing there's a link already detailing his ventures after his Cleveland days because I would've loved to post a brief summary of his failures, especially in Boston. The young Boston core performed well in the playoffs without Kyrie. I will never forget when 20 and 21-year-old rookies Tatum and Brown together with their young core Rozier and Smart plus veteran Al Horford iirc went unbeaten at home before that fateful conference finals game 7 loss to Lebron and the Cavs. In the next season's playoffs, toxic Kyrie choked as Boston was nearly shut out by Milwaukee in that series. And then comes next were his injuries and drama in Brooklyn.

Mark Cuban seems interested to host Kyrie's next drama series by letting go of Finney-Smith and a future 1st round draft pick. Maybe Cuban should also take the other Morris to complete his roster. Cheesy
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or altcoin on: February 06, 2023, 03:22:18 PM

Bitcoin is still an easy x5 in the next bull run. So I choose bitcoin over the ever-dangerous and unstable altcoins. Although, if allowed, I will choose both. I just need to diversify my crypto investments as well. There are the safest altcoins at the top most of the ranks, ETH and BNB are my favorite picks. But I also risked some on other altcoins that are highly volatile but have the potential of earning more than the top altcoins and bitcoin.

So it is a matter of personal preference. The most important is to DYOR and invest the money we can only afford to lose. The higher the risk, the higher than reward but bitcoin is always the safest investment in crypto, and 2nd and 3rd are not even close.
It seems to me that no one can guarantee you a stable x5 for bitcoin in the next cycle. The big question here is, at what marks can that theoretical x5 be? Although altcoins have more risk, the reward is also much higher than bitcoin.

High rewards but also with high risks to rugpull. Take a look at the drama that happened to LUNA, FTX, they were the top altcoins that were trusted by the community but in the end they collapsed and hurt a lot of people. Indeed, no one guarantees bitcoin will get 5x easily, but when compared to having to wait 10x from altcoins and dropping to rugpull is very risky. Bitcoin is still the best for the long term, it will not drop to zero and will not be a rug pull.

Yes, of course, there are no guarantees that bitcoin can raise x5 in the next cycle hence I also said that we should only invest an amount that we can afford to lose. I just felt it and I am confident that bitcoin reaches a minimum of $100k in the next cycle. It went x20 something in the last cycle so a x5 might be very doable in this coming cycle.

Altcoins are very dangerous, even the top altcoins but I am a gambler anyways so I also have investments in them. But around 50% of my portfolio is in bitcoin. The only chance for altcoins to surpass it is if they go to Mars because bitcoin voyage is only to the moon. Cheesy
1797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 06, 2023, 02:37:14 PM
Good thing with Magsayo if he will win his fight against Figueroa and Vargas will step down again and face Magsayo for possible title match, money wise it will give Magsayo decent amount of profits, but first he needs to take care of Figueroa and make sure that he will be ready for Vargas if he decided to go back and negotiate for the possible fight.

Future will be much better for them as they've got that chance to make money with the fans who wanted to see how those fighters will perform.

I love to see that Magsayo will be taking his revenge to a fighter that had beaten him. This fight is his best chance though, he is fighting a good fighter so if he wins this, it only imply that he had learn from his mistakes and have made adjustments to make himself a better fighter.

Vargas vs Magsayo II, that's a good title, and everyone will be interested watching to know if Magsayo will successfully take his revenge, who knows? we might see a trilogy if he wins.
A promising title indeed.
Magsayo had that belt in the first place, he should be able to get a rematch and both promoters' sides should love the idea because it can hoard more money for both camps.
After this fight against Figueroa, he should pursue taking back the WBC title. I just wish it will be a different result when that fight comes.
Figueroa has the same goal as he did challenge Vargas for that title match last July (after he took it from Magsayo) but ended up being denied to get the opportunity because Vargas said he has nothing to gain from it.
This may end up as a great fight as both boxers are aiming to get the title match that they badly want.

As enticing as a Vargas-Magsayo II to happen, I don't think Magsayo is even a favorite to win against Brandon Figueroa whose only loss was a very close decision to Stephen Fulton in a unification fight. And I think Rey Vargas will successfully win his 3rd division belt which makes the rematch becoming more difficult. I honestly, would like to see an improved Magsayo when he fights Figueroa. Hopefully, he is not the same Magsayo that has limited stamina and has difficulty when facing a brawler. Because if not, Figueroa will take him into deep waters and stops him.

Everybody in this division wants former WBA champion Luis Santa-Cruz because he is the biggest money-maker in this division. The same reason why the corrupt WBA allowed him to hostage the real WBA belt for years despite being already inactive in the division. Magsayo wanted to unify with LSC before. And then Vargas also chased for an LSC fight after taking the WBC belt.

Overall, 2 teams left for China.

It is a tiebreaker again in CN DPC for the 4th slot in Lima Major. It is between Xtreme and Ehome.

But before that, it is a tie breaker between PSG.LGD and Aster for #1. This is an exciting game as we saw yesterday. The games between LGD and Aster yesterday keeps going back and forth. The lead keeps changing and it could have gone either way. Just a single mistake can cost a game between these two and they are playing almost a perfect DOTA. Better bet on over 2.5 maps on this game since it will be most likely to get a full series.

PSG.LGD once again reigns supreme in the Chinese region. After Faith_bian's retirement and XinQ not renewing the contract followed by Ame's decision to take a break, I thought this team will struggle to secure a place at the top 4 and it is time for Team Aster and Xtreme Gaming to rule the region.

I began to wonder if EHOME is unofficially becoming a second or farm team for PSG.LGD after taking planet and shiro. Earlier they also allowed XinQ and NothingToSay to play for PSG.LGD for more than 2 years and counting for the latter. I don't know if it is cool to allow teams to have another secondary teams just like Xtreme has YBB and Aster has Aster.Aries.
1799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 06, 2023, 01:13:23 PM
Figueroa being a volume puncher can put Magsayo into a disadvantage.  If Magsayo failed to KO Figueroa I think, the hardworking and volume punch of Figueroa will enable him to win the fight.  Magsayo often have problem with his stamina and often time fell short of breath even before the fight end.  So if Magsayo failed to fix this problem, for sure Figueroa can dominate the later part of the fight while Magsayo is having trouble keeping up due to stamina issue.

Why it became a disadvantage for Magsayo if Figueroa is a volume puncher? Since when being a volume puncher can put disadvantage on any boxer? It's just a normal scene for a boxers to face a volume puncher. Magsayo already have many fights on his career and it's impossible that only Figueroa is the only volume puncher there. Smiley

It is obvious, if a boxer hits more points, and the fight ended in a decision, the one who has raked more point is a winner.  And most of the time, the person who worked hard gets the sympathy of judges into winning the fight.

Magsayo already handles even much deadly fighter compare to Figueroa. No disadvantage for him but I see both should be equal. Strategy will be the key.

It is not about how he handle, it is about who get more points.  Volume puncher more often gets more points than a boxer who only rely with his 1 punch ko.  So when the fight go a distant, a volume puncher also known as the hardworking one often wins the fight.

What I'm saying on that is, do you really think that Magsayo didn't face already a volume puncher in his entire career for you to say that it will become a disadvantage for Magsayo? My question is, how is Figueroa being a volume puncher can give a disadvantage to Magsayo like you are saying that the latter is new on that kind of thing?

It's obvious that Magsayo is already aware of Figueora's way of fighting and it's not a disadvantage to Magsayo that Figueroa is a volume puncher since "Magsayo alone is a volume puncher too that sometimes even leading to KO".

As I said, strategy will be the key where it will depend on how these both boxer will execute it on a right timing.
Both of you have good points. A volume puncher is not a guarantee to win fights because it also depends on the accuracy, defense, and impact of those punches. Looking at their styles, Magsayo's defense is his offense which means he can be targeted pretty easily by Figueroa but he might become open to Magsayo's counterattacks too. Magsayo's chin is durable and while Figueroa is also battle-tested, he might not be able to take heavy bombs in this new division. The problem with Magsayo is his stamina and once Figueroa can feel that he can take Magsayo's power shots, he will start imposing his brawling style and his deadly body attacks on Magsayo might end the fight or at the very least take out a portion of Magsayo's limited gas.

Magsayo is not a volume puncher. He's got big arms which means they're heavy and it might be the reason why Magsayo's stamina is limited. And when it comes to world-class experience, Figueroa has a huge advantage although they were in the lower division I still believe it matters.

So maybe @Jawhead999 has a very good point of the odds becoming 65/35 in favor of Figueroa. Maybe that's more sarcastic bro @bisdak40 because my odds prediction in this fight is only 55/45 or 60/40 for Figueroa. Cheesy

Its been a while since i watch the replays with the Nigma and Secret and upon checking unexpectedly I thought Miracle- are still in the Nigma and just saw with their new draft which is Amar The F and its really good that they get this man we know his capabilities to win the game and I don't know in my side if the Secret gets weaker because they Remove Nisha in this match upon watching their game its seems like this not the secret we have watch before.

Secret is currently in the dirt right now with their drafting and poor coordination. They would have better chances if their newcomer adapts to what Puppey really wanted to do with the draft. They kinda showed resilience in team fights but they cannot convert those into wins, ending they just lose and lose and lose even in relatively weaker teams than them. While on the other hand, Nisha adjusted pretty well with what Team Liquid wants to do, and it's pretty evident that he's more active in the midlane and does a lot of things in the map compared to BOOM who kinda idles in mid lane and doesn't really do any meaningful rotations to help alleviate pressure in their side of the map.
talking about team Secret, which is now completely different from what it used to be after Nisha was transferred to team Liquid. in this DPC match, Secret performance was very bad and every gold match he got during the match was very bad. Incidents like this should be a whip for Secret coach to continue to improve the Secret team so as not to embarrass the fans who have long made Secret their favorite team.

rotation in dota 2 match it is very much needed. because if one of the team members doesn't understand rotation, surely the team will be overwhelmed to defend the match. as was done in several matches, Nisha preferred rotation to help his friends who had difficulty facing the opponents they were facing.
and in my opinion if the team has a good rotation, it will make the enemy's mentality go down.

Nisha and Team Liquid's chemistry worked right away because Nisha is such a versatile player with huge experience at top-level games and Liquid is also willing to adopt Nisha's playing style. Unlike BOOM, he needs to adjust and acclimatize to the playing style of Puppey. No way Puppey is going to accommodate BOOM's possible proposals and style of play. After all, Puppey and Team Secret have too much experienced, it's either they will change the line-up again later or BOOM will start to play according to its team's style. I am hoping of course that BOOM will start playing well and become as flexible as Nisha in their next tournament.

Last season, I remember Team Secret was ranked 35th something in the DPC and yet still able to join the TI in the last minutes of the season and performed well in TI.
