2681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 15, 2022, 11:14:28 AM
Dan Rafael is a good source, as he is a legendary boxing writer, and let's hope that what he leaks in true though. I mean we all have been speculating this fight for months now and hope that it will happen in October, the first date that circulated. And then there is news blackout from both camps although we have seen Showtime Stephen Espinoza and even Crawford himself going into the public and giving some updates, but still it's not that clear. So again, good to hear that there is progress, but we will have to wait for the final announcement.
Yes, Dan Rafael should be reliable enough. There must be truth behind Dan Rafael's tweet. So it is not Mayweather Jr. that will announce it first though? Cheesy So it is November 12 or 19 in Las Vegas then. At least the venue is not in Spence's state of Texas and although this made Crawford inactive for a year, I hope he is pumped and ready to start his training camp.

And it also mentioned WBA regular champ Eimantas Stanionis in the undercard. Guys like Stanionis, Ortiz, Ennis, and Butaev will get their mandatory shots sooner than later. And IMO, these young guns are too risky for both Crawford and Spence. Unless Spence is happy and contented staying at welterweight forever.

Wow! Unbelievable! That was a very great performance by Team Spirit over the always odds favorite PSG LGD. Team Spirit is a whole new different level just in time when TI is only a few months away. And who saw that TORONTOTOKYO's all caps "HATERS WHERE ARE YOU NOW?" just before they entered LGD's gates to deliver its final blow? That was funny.

And just as EG and Outsiders barely made it into the top 12 for an automatic TI invite. I have here the most painful award, and it goes to Fnatic. Cheesy Peace Fnatic fans, I can feel the pain with that 0.05 DPC points differential.

2683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 15, 2022, 07:15:49 AM
Seems like everything has been a bit calm later on the trading front. I think teams may be settling in with what they plan to enter training camp with. The season is just right around the corner so it seems like the Nets aren’t going to be making any deals that don’t interest them. We may see a KD and Kyrie team with Ben Simmons to start the year. Talk about awkward…

Honestly who knows.  There could easily be a situation in which they are working out a deal right now, and on the flipside it can be cold as ice.  I don't think the situation is or will be awkward at all, just normal nba business during the offseason honestly.  Ayers always say it...in the end its just a business.  So if they end up on the court together I expect them 3 to dominate a ton of games together.
I think this trio combo will end in a failure. But who knows? It's time for Kyrie Irving to be serious with the game, play harder and stop his unnecessary antics if he wants a good contract after this upcoming season. The same with Ben Simmons, this might be his last chance to prove that he is still a relevant talent in the league.

I am very curious about how the Atlanta Hawks perform. My bets on the eastern conference are Philadelphia and Boston next season.
2684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) on Its Way to $2,100, Top Trader Says ! on: August 14, 2022, 01:24:23 AM
So Merge will most likely going to happen. Not 100% but considering the success of the recent tests says it all. I used to reserve some ETHs for this POS thing. It took a lot of time though which is finally going to happen next month. And I made a very bad decision selling most of my ETHs a few years ago before the whole crypto market started to bounce back. There is still time to accumulate but it is not that cheap like before but still worth it IMO.

I'd been contemplating lately about starting to mine and ETH seems to be the fastest ROI in my country with expensive electricity. But it seems that this is goodbye mining for ETH.

There are still a few months to go and we might see more exciting and surprising trades before the start of the next season. So far the teams that upgraded their roster to a whole new level are;

1. Minnesota Timberwolves- Acquiring defensive superstar Rudy Gobert will right away put this team in the mix of strong contenders next season. This is bigger than Minnesota acquired Latrell Sprewell many years ago. But we will see if this current roster is comparable to the hype of that Sprewell trade many years ago. AFAIK the Minnesota Timberwolves became the favorite to win Garnett, Sprewell, and Cassell. I hope Minnesota's plan of trading Russell materializes because I want to see them improve and vie for the top.

2. Atlanta Hawks- People are really curious if a duo core of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray works well. I hope it works well as I want to see more teams becoming competitive and become serious championship contenders. It makes the league more exciting.

3. Boston Celtics- Still hanging in the air for a possible KD acquisition but they also took Malcolm Brogdon. Their current roster is already very strong and they might become the betting odds favorite.

4. Philadelphia 76ers- I knew some people aren't convinced with P.J. Tucker but I am. Looking forward to a better Harden next season.
2688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: August 12, 2022, 12:14:36 PM
This is interesting. I would love to see people investing these tokens giving updates here. I am also looking into BGF and Moonbet for a while now but am still hesitant due to the current market condition. Moonbet seemed to fail or maybe they can recover but Betfury casino is doing good.

The growth of these tokens is kind of limited though. Exchanges are starting to follow strict regulations in many countries. And correct me if I am wrong, but casino tokens cannot be easily accepted since they are kind of stocks. Will governments ask them to apply the tokens to their stock exchange?
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 12, 2022, 11:56:06 AM
Teo is Oscar's back up plan if ever the Davis vs Garcia is not going to happen. Teo though said that everyone is calling him, but when he laid out everything, this fighters try to price them out.
Teo got a point though. Especially Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis are just cherry-picking their opponents exploiting their popularity. I don't even think Oscar is seriously matching his baby Ryan Garcia against Teo. Unless Teo will look weak in his upcoming fight. And then Teo will not accept the offer if they aren't impressive against Campa. This is all about exploitation but nobody gives up because they both think they are the A-side.

There is so much publicity and hype on the big quartet Haney, Teofimo, Tank, and KingRy. Are they bigger than championship belts? Although Haney and Teofimo are well accomplished already. Tank became a legit champion but only at super-featherweight yet he is probably the biggest name of the 4. KingRy is the least when it comes to accomplishments but he is the 2nd most popular or who knows maybe he is even more popular and marketable than Tank.

True, it's probably the hype though, Garcia, Davis and Lopez are the big name in terms of marketability. Although Haney is the champion, he doesn't have that marketable because of his style. But Ryan and Tank, they electrify the crowds with their knock out wins.
Poor Haney. The most accomplished of the quartet but probably the least popular. It looks like Haney without a belt is useless in the eyes of Teo, Tank, and KingRy. Cheesy But I have to admit though that Haney is boring to watch.

And now Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions is hyping his fighter Ryan Garcia who is also moving up in weight the same as Lopez. De La Hoya mentioned that Tank Davis and his team aren't serious about fighting KingRy since they get no replies. So now De La Hoya shifted on Teofimo and said that he will be watching Teofimo's upcoming fight.

That would be a great match, but first, Teo has to beat Campa impressively so the hype will continue and they will have a big fight although it's not a championship fight since both are moving up in weight. Maybe the winner of that fight will challenge the current champion.
I am hoping Teo will lose this fight. But any champions would love to fight either Teo or Garcia because of money. But for the meantime there is only 1 champion in the division, the former undisputed Josh Taylor is giving up his belts in favor of moving up to welterweight.
2690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold your bag when you can on: August 12, 2022, 03:58:30 AM
I learned a lot during 2018 and 2019 when bitcoin dropped prices heavily. I gave up and sold most of my bitcoins even if my bitcoin old-timer friends kept telling me to HODL. I think some of them owned bitcoins as early as 2011 and they already experienced huge swings throughout the years and always told me and my friends that they'd seen worse. I think it was the year 2017 the same year when I started purchasing some bitcoin portions, one of our mentors an ex-NEM foundation officer mentioned that if someone cannot hold bitcoin at its worse price it does not deserve to enjoy bitcoin's highest prices. I ignored all of them and sold most of my holding although I did retain a little.

So now I realized that experience is really the best way to learn. It's very different when you are in the situation. I learned the hard way. Now I will never sell my bitcoins unless it is super necessay.
2691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If the Governments Planned to Keep the Limited 21 Millions BTC in Their Custody on: August 12, 2022, 03:36:18 AM
1. What if a group of dumb leaders will decide to buy all the bitcoins to kill it?
2. What if this group of dumb leaders will sacrifice their countries' funds and economies in order to gather $500 billion for the huge buyout?
3. What if this group of dumb leaders realized that their heavy bitcoin buyouts are pumping its price and $500 billion is not enough?
4. What if this group of dumb leaders sees that there are no 21 million bitcoin in circulation?

Are we just going to create a thread or posts without knowing even a little? I am not techy but pretty sure coingecko or coinmarketcap or whatever similar sites are basic when someone starts getting interested in bitcoin.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 12, 2022, 03:15:01 AM
So Bob Arum is being futuristic for Devin Haney and is expecting another easy win by the undisputed champion. Bob said that Haney will get a Lomachenko fight although the Ukrainian needs a tune-up fight first. Devin Haney will have a lot of options if he beats Kambosos again. Inside Top Rank, there's Vassily Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez, maybe Josh Taylor too if he will stay at 140, and Jose Ramirez. Outside of Top Rank, there's Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia.

And as for Kambosos? He will have the same options too but he needs to win over Haney. Otherwise, I am not sure what his future will be. It's like his win over Teofimo was a fluke and he only became champion on Teofimo's worst night.
2693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 12, 2022, 02:58:04 AM
Team Spirit is confirmed to be on TI form again. I think they can beat LGD on finals either on UB or the grand finals.
It seems that we are heading into another Team Spirit vs PSG LGD match which is pretty exciting. And yes, I think Team Spirit is starting to become stronger once again which is perfect because TI is getting nearer. I will be rooting for Team Spirit t win but my bet will be over 2.5 total maps.

OG and Outsiders are still alive though and I see these teams are also a threat on the upper bracket losing team.

I am watching Entity and EG. It seems that EG is going to be out, it's the 3rd game (1-1) and currently the game is 25 minutes long already but the score is 6-16 in favor of Entity.
Watching EG being destroyed like this is not new anymore and Arthur's Alchemist isn't that fat at all. They're struggling and Entity is doing it right.
And I think the game is about to end so, it's likely Entity is going to move to the next round on the losers bracket unless EG flips the table.

Like I said above, they are being outdrafted again just like in game 2. They are now out of the competition and entity is moving forward in the lower bracket. Their next series will be against BOOM esports.

I am now interested to see how Boom will fair against another W europe team. They were able to beat Liquid but Entity is another level. If they can pull off an upset on Entity, I can say SEA teams has definitely improved. They have a day at least to strategies on how to defeat Entity.
I am not a fan of Bulba and I really hope he will be replaced and maybe even Fly too. As an EG fan, I still want them to play in TI. And maybe Fnatic wins over beastcoast and then drops Outsiders then it'll be a free ticket for EG in the TI.

As for Boom. I believe they are very good players. The decisions and maybe their confidence level too is what cost them some games. I'm still hoping for Boom to win against Entity but no more bets since they might become content with a TI ticket.

Congratulations to the winners and big thanks to Roobet and Hhampuz for this kind of event. This is the first time I joined a contest ever and I felt it is still an accomplishment even if I didn't win. Looking at the previous contest threads it looks like the forum got a lot of very very talented artists and probably some of them are professionals. Hats off to all the participants and the audience in this event.
2697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 11, 2022, 07:26:46 AM
I know how important Green is in the Warriors and he is one of their best defenders but to ask for a 10-year contract? I don't know if it will happen because the Warriors will not get any benefit from it in the long run. That's too much I think and the Warriors can't even give him a max contract (for now). He is 32 years old and a few years from now, he will be in the post-prime period and his performance will slowly decrease thus, it will not help the Warriors so it's a no-no for me and maybe it would be better for the Warriors if they will just trade him if Green will push what he wants. Kinda hurt but it would be beneficial to the Warriors management.

There is no doubt about Green's importance in the team because he is a valuable asset to the team, but he should be informed enough that there's no team in the NBA who will grant him that long contract. I mean, he is quite older already and he won't be producing the same production he did in the years to come because of that age, he should know by now that it is the reality in the NBA since then because it's a business in the first place.

I think the maximum contract in the NBA is only 6 years. I don't know if Green is just wanting attention or trolling or bluffing or just high or drunk. It is even unlikely that GSW will give him a max contract. And his performance is not the same already as before so he will not be worth $32 million per year something.

I believe that GSW management, the splash brothers, Kerr, and the rest of the gang will persuade Draymond to remain with them. And I don't think any team in the NBA will want Draymond at $32 million per year.
2698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 11, 2022, 04:19:40 AM
^^ If I'm not mistaken, it was Spence who said that if this fight fell off, he might go up to 154 pounds and fight Charlo for his belt, they are close though, so this fight is going to be in intriguing match up.

https://www.dazn.com/en-US/news/boxing/errol-spence-jr-ill-fight-jermell-charlo-if-the-money-is-right/qjic7626975v1ougby4lhrgsq

That was the time when there's no clear chance that he will fight Crawford. But on the other hand, Crawford also like to face Charlo at 154 lbs. If they have the same target and if these Crawford vs Spence won't be organized officially, I wonder who will face Jermell Charlo.

It's just a waste moment for me that we will not see this big fight if ever things not worked out properly. I don't see any reason why this fight should not happened. Spence even mentioned before that there's no thing on their way for this fight not to happened. Crawford on the other hand has also the same view that his fight against Spence will really happened.

But even both boxers are positive that their fight will soon happened, we still don't see any good news about the progress of this fight.

Spence should stop making excuses, he should focus on his fight with Crawford and make sure it will happen his year. There's no reason that they will move when one of them cannot be an undisputed champion, I hope they will not be greedy, it's time to give the fans what we are hoping to see.

From what I read, Spence says that he doesn't need Crawford because he has cemented his legacy. He has 3 belts, has better resume that Crawford, can generated huge PPV numbers and other reasons (excuses?).

Nevertheless, I would agree that to really put your name in the 147 lbs, he needs to get all the belts under his waist and call him the best. Otherwise, it will be a big question mark on his career, a big what if scenario if he decided not to chase Crawford anymore.
Spence will fight Jermell if the money is right. I even doubt Spence fights his close friend unless there's a fallout. While both Spence and Jermell are promoted by PBC, it is Crawford that has an easier route to fight Jermell as a WBO welterweight champ privilege unless the undisputed champ vacates his WBO belt which is very possible too.

As for Spence's legacy. He only got 3 belts in a single division. He is not even the lineal and Ring champ. That resume is not enough to enter the Hall of Fame. Crawford's resume is the one that has HoF credentials being a 3 division champion, 2 division lineal and Ring champion, and former undisputed champion.

Will Spence got the balls to fight Crawford for a chance to become an undisputed champ? Or will Spence continue to block Crawford's chance to become the first ever 2 division undisputed champion in this 4-belt era? And there's Spence's friend the undisputed champion Jermell Charlo already saying in public that he will not give Crawford a shot at his undisputed belts. It should not be that hard to see who's the guy clearly chasing a legendary status in boxing.
2699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 11, 2022, 03:48:16 AM
Interesting games today as most of these teams will try to secure their TI slots. I'm betting on Boom, EG, Outsiders, and Fnatic. Hopefully, I can get some nice wins here.

Game one between Boom and Liquid is still hanging in the air. But just as the game was switching towards Liquid's favor due to some unexpected decisions by Boom, Liquid all of a sudden was picked apart and apparently lost the game. Game two is coming up and I expect Boom to commit fewer mistakes to seal the series.

Fortunately for you, Boom Esports pulled off an upset against Liquid. Liquid showing to be really strong but was outmaneuvered by Boom Esports. I am just astonished that even as a SEA team, Boom is showing so much discipline in their match today.

I am not betting so much on EG and FNATIC. EG showing inconsistency in the group matches and FNATIC having incomplete team. It is hard to put a bet on them in ML. If it is map handicap or over 2.5 maps, maybe I can put some. Their matches will be very close and probably will go the distance.
All my bets were ML. I lost that EG bet and I think Bulba should be fired next season. But this team might still get a TI ticket if Fnatic will win against Beastcoast (very winnable) and the hard-as-nails Outsiders.

I believe Boom is really the better team compared to Liquid but their discipline and decisions are sometimes flawed. In the first game, they were leading but it shifted to Liquid's favor before finally retaking the game. And in the second game, people were expecting for a more disciplined Boom yet they were badly beaten in less than 30 minutes. It was in game 3 that Boom finally were playing too safe although I think it was too much, they could've finished the game earlier.
2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 11, 2022, 03:26:16 AM
We do not know his weight between fights. Maybe he is 190 in everyday life, due to training and camp he burns extra lbs without special cutting to fit in middleweight. As we are in topic Canelo vs GGG, I would say that Canelo does not look small. He is not as tall as GGG, but I cant say he is little; in the fight against Bivol he looked huge. But I agree that going to cruiserweight is a suicide. There, guys only on a weight-ins day are 200lbs, during the fight they are heavier. Speed wont help Canelo in cruiserweight, there, guys are fast also.

The argument that Canelo weighs less during the weight in, and more during the fight is applicable for the Cruiserweight boxers as well. On average, there will be a 25 to 30 lbs difference between Canelo (at this point) and someone like Ilunga Makabu or Jai Opetaia. So Canelo needs to add 10-12 kgs of mass before he ventures to Cruiserweight. I don't know much about this, but can it be done safely within 5-6 months? And I have seen fights involving Makabu and Okolie. They are as fast as anyone in the Light heavyweight division. Canelo won't be having any added advantage.
I think it was early this year when the WBC approved Canelo to jump in the cruiserweight and fights WBC champ Ilunga Makabu. It didn't materialized though, maybe there is no money in a Makabu fight or the Canelo team thought it was too big for them.

Yes Canelo is not tall and he also does not have a huge frame but he is damn heavy and solid. 5-6 months should be enough for Canelo to acclimatize in cruiserweight although he cannot stay there for long. Maybe a mission to win a title and when done, he needs to move down once again. Canelo's speed might be enough to outpoint the champions there but the problem is he's got enough power to earn their respect. Otherwise, those cruiser champs will become aggressive and can seriously hurt Canelo, especially WBC champ Makabu.
