2721  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bammergera is FUCKING SCAMMER !! on: January 27, 2014, 05:00:57 AM
Paypal, secret deals via Skype, Teamviewer.......people keep asking to get scammed and scammers will oblige.
I flagged this guy 13 days ago, I guess Trust is seldom read. Live, learn and move on.

The problem is that trust doesnt transfer to new accounts and this shithead makes a new one every other day.  All he needs is one person to fall for his scam and he will make a new one.

Same account as named in the OP?

2724  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling New Samsung Note 10.1 for 0.09493 btc on: January 26, 2014, 06:15:44 PM
Selling New Samsung Note 10.1 for  0.09493 btc or whatever $75 usd is in btc at time of sale. PM ME

Sounds very cheap. How much are they retailing for?

Over £300. I think we know what's going on here  Grin.

OP, can you provide any timestamped pics of the item and are you willing to use a trusted escrow?

I will take some pix now and even though I only have a vague idea as to what escrow is, i've read that that's the only way you should do business, so yes but only with a well known company if that makes sense. pix coming in a few.

You can find a list of trusted escrowers here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108716.0

Thanks checking them out now.  Using escrow means I have to wait for delivery conf. to get paid?  If so what's stopping customer from saying they didn't receive?  How am I protected?

That's why you pick out an agent that has a lot of positive feedback. Send via signature confirmation. Still isn't 100% safe but short of face to face........

2726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange arbitrage? on: January 26, 2014, 03:44:23 PM
OK, this may be a complete newb question.  There is a $200 difference in BTC price between Coinbase and Mt Gox.  Why couldn't someone buy a coin on Coinbase, send it to Mt Gox, then sell it for profiit?  X10?    It seems too simple.  Whats the catch?

This has been asked many times. Try it and then withdraw fiat from Gox, report back here.
2727  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking to lend 0.6B⃦ on: January 25, 2014, 08:34:26 PM
Hi,

This is my first time asking for loan... I am hoping to lend 0.6BTC, and will pay back on the 17 - 19 Feb. I don't have anything as collateral yet to be honest. I may be able to pay in advance but 17 - 19 Feb is the deadline period.

Thanks for reading.

You may want to change your wording to Borrow or Loan.

this is his profile   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=224107
i got scammed by that guy. i paid first with 7500potcoins and i was asking for 0.35btc.
so i sent the 7500potcoins, and the guy told me he sent the 0.35btc and i never received them.
so please be aware do NOT trade with that guy and never send anything first to him.

If you didn't use escrow, you helped with the scam. Look at it as a well learned lesson and move on.
2732  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I have been scammed by TandemSkys please help! on: January 25, 2014, 07:44:10 PM
Hey guys this guy named tempishot on skype scammed me so bad. I tried exchanging cagecoins with him and he removed me as soon as sent the payment and it got confirmed. Please try to help me. I am really helpless. I am not begging. This is just a humble request. Donate BTC to 12bveb46F1Zz3rV3pfyYrfueYtWoxnrgxm if you can. Thank you guys. Please try to help out an innocent human being who is not very rich and got scammed.

Consider it a lesson well learned and move on. As in boxing, protect yourself at all times.
2733  Economy / Lending / Re: Requirements for BTC Loan on: January 24, 2014, 05:27:57 PM
I've always though it was ridiculous the way people want collateral in the form of an alt coin equating to MORE than the value of the actual loan. The person wanting to borrow might as well exchange his alt coin for the coin he wants.

You didn't think this through, did you?

Perhaps not. I personally have no desire for a loan, I just think there should be a better way to go about getting one for people that do.

If you had £1000 in cash and needed $1000 for whatever reason would you borrow $1000 from someone else using £1000 as collateral? No, you would think that the person offering this loan had been completely removed from their senses for even suggesting this.

Basically newbs aren't going to get a loan. I'm sure when this forum started or in the earlier days it would've been easier, but as BTC grew so have the scammers. It's only logical that people don't trust people on the net so they need some assurance that they're gonna get their money back. You also don't have to offer money as collateral. Other things can be used.

Some have a nice stockpile of alt coins and want to keep until the price goes back up but they need some funds now. 100+% collateral also helps ensure they aren't just using the lender as an exchange. Also, if that collateral bottoms out, the lender has a worthless loan/collateral.

Yeah but that test setup was using a 3960X OC'd to 4.2ghz and 4 sticks of ram.  My mobo/cpu/ram will be much less power hungry than that.

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/4883/sapphire_radeon_hd_7970_ghz_edition_vapor_x_3gb_overclocked_video_card_review/index17.html

This review shows a 3x crossfire setup w/ the same card pulls 789 at the wall using the same CPU OCd to 4.7 also w/ 16gb.  Assuming a lower power draw due to my celeron cpu and 1/4 of the ram, I would expect to come in under that.  I'm fairly certain a 900 could pull it off but the PSU i have a chance of getting is an 850.

Really, I'm wondering if anyone has any setups similar to this and if they were able to pull it off.

You got the answer per your original post. This is yet another topic beat to death. Please use the Search feature.
2737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 850w PSU for 3x 7970? on: January 23, 2014, 03:17:15 PM
I have an MSI 7970 Vapor-X ghz edition w/ another on the way.  Im looking to upgrade the PSU to handle this plus leave room for 1 more down the road.  Im currently looking at an 850w psu (corsair TX850M), but im wondering if this will be enough for 3 cards mining?  Also, if I decide to OC the cards will it leave enough headroom?

Use Search or Google, no need to post another thread on this.

Hey guys. I have got myself into a bad situation here. Somebody sent me a virus on another forum and my Malwarebytes pro isnt picking up the virus. I however know I have one because my Mining gear is getting such a suckish hashrate. I think the hacker is using my computer to mine. Anyways I am  not too savvy  so the only way I know how to remove a virus is if it appears in msconfig, which it does not. Anyways I need this loan so someone can remove the virus via Teamviewer. I know this is my first post but I only need the loan for a few days (Until I get my paycheck which I will cash in friday and should appear in my bank account by tuesday next week. I would put some BTC up for collateral but another reason I found out I had the virus is by having all my Bitcoins stolen.

New user, asking for money, no collateral, typical hard luck story and you want an unsecured loan? Does this not sound fishy to you?
I would put something for collateral if I had it. Unless you guys want to buy an xbox one I have nothing else to do besides turn off my computer until I get a paycheck.

Where do you bank that a deposit takes that long to show up?
It takes around 2 business days, and I would be cashing it right before a weekend. Im a Capital One customer. I use the mobile application to scan a check cuz Im  too damn lazy to go to the bank.

Then wait for the check to clear. Any lender should wonder if you'd be "too damn lazy" to repay the loan.
