Well... That was a master kick, sort to say... It was a masterpiece publishing it on the blockchain, good call! And they don't want to regulate anything apparently... Perfect. Too perfect to be true

Only kept 1 Gridseed 5 chip I bought locally in my early script mining days, just for the lulz Mining at 0,22 $/kW/h, obviously not profitable, but I like the little thing It's a bit like a token, a reminder, it was the first one I had.

They better stay off Bitcoin. It won't do them any good and if they adopted Bitcoin news outlets would probably label it as "the debt currency" The Greeks could already be adopting Bitcoin in large numbers. You never know when their country will be hit by capital controls. Bitcoin can't help the Greek government though. If citizens adopt Bitcoin, that's amazing, but not the government... That would definitely make people label it "the debt coin" The Greeks could already be adopting Bitcoin in large numbers. You never know when their country will be hit by capital controls. Bitcoin can't help the Greek government though.
None of the major Bitcoin exchanges (including Localbitcoins) have reported a surge in trade volumes from Greece. On the other hand, the trade volumes have been lower than the average for the last 6-7 months. So it seems that for the Greeks right now, Bitcoin doesn't looks like one of the primary methods to escape from capital controls. Exactly, and it seems they really have no local exchanges... A surge of money from Greece would definitely be noticeable. I wonder if they either don't have any fear of capital control or they're getting out to other things like gold.

-snip- Can't blockchain load through Safari? -snip-
Yes. Well, then there's this solution, blockchain via web interface on iOS 6's Safari... Apple is discouraging updates for iOS 6 apps and is enforcing iOS 7 minimum on all apps. And I wouldn't be surprised if they enforced iOS 8 minimum by then end of the year... Heavy downer.... I got my kids some IPhone 3Ses on sale many many years ago. Seing grade school kids spending $1000 / yr on cell phone devices, service, and plan upgrades was just too insane (spelled C-O-S-T-L-Y) for me. Since Apple has effectively made used IPhones worthless, I'll junk them for Android come Christmas Thx Apple. PS. I'll try safari, hope it has PW memory. I don't know for how much you got them, but if you did so a bit after their release, you also spent quite a bit of money, as there are no "free lunches" in what concerns Apple devices. Apple enforces updates because they want all their users to be secure. If that's the best policy or not... I'm not sure But it works for them (they're not winning any money if you keep their old devices, so might as well make you buy a newer one or switch). As for kids with expensive devices, I also don't think it makes much sense, but whatever... If you're looking for devices with long term support from their maker, switching to Android will make everything worse for you If you value and don't mind using community updates, then awesome choice. Anyways, back on topic I don't think Safari on iOS 6 had PW memory.

This looks really interesting, and I think it could be used, for example, as a donation address (or donation payment code, in this case). But there's something I'm not sure I understand (and forgive me if this is simple, but I'm not a very technical person Bitcoin-wise): if a payment code was given for donation, would each transaction to this code "redirect" the funds to different addresses? Will these codes make a lot of addresses via the same seed and use each address for each transaction?

Curious to know what kind of chips 21 is using and to know who the hell is Telco 214...

Conflict is far from over... We can all breath a sigh of relief when/if the changes go ahead (which I hope they do). Things are looking good, people are now actually coding solutions, instead of just discussing them, and progress is being amde... Let's see where we're at January next year

Second, it is possible to use a soft fork to reduce the rate at which blocks double.
That's quite interesting I already patched my client, xtnodes.com shows a few more nodes today.
Awesome! Every vote counts

Of course they are very excited: BitPay needs banking partners to turn all that Bitcoin from companies that immediately convert them, and this is a new business opportunity for banks to profit.
I hope everyone using BitPay switches to 100% Bitcoin, or at least the vast majority of funds to Bitcoin only (the only exceptions being funds in fiat to pay whatever they cannot pay in Bitcoin, yet).

Can't blockchain load through Safari? I don't think there are iOS 6 wallets... Unfortunately you'll have to upgrade your device to have apps.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find the Bitcoin option... Other are having the same issue on Reddit. Too bad. I was going to give them a few bits. I am more amazed that they opted for Stripe to be their Bitcoin payment processor, rather than BitPay or Coinbase. It's got a huge user base, so it would grab some attention, I am just not sure it would make a huge difference. When big anti-virus companies like Kaspersky / Norton / McAfee start accepting Bitcoin, I would be more impressed. I hate to pay for renewals with the non-Bitcoin methods. It's a good start, but it has little impact. What an epic idea! I'd surely go back to Kaspersky if they accepted Bitcoin.

When i add a new wallet to my blockchain, they just give me an address, they just give me another address, they dont give me the private key for it, if i lose my identifier and i cant login to blockchain, how do I get back my money? can i use the private key of the original address and import the details to another client?
Yes, the private key can be used to import funds on another client.

2nd and fifth option. I voted the second. Bitcoin is obviously more secure than any offering a bank can have. But the same applied for "white" money. It's not because it's black that it's going to be more secure...
When customer data is leaking out of swiss banks, Bitcoin is obviously more secure, no question about that. It's also a much better and much different option to conventional banking.

This is an interesting test, and I'll be waiting for numbers if you actually do it... But I question myself if the chaos that this test will, in theory, provoke will justify the results obtained!

I stopped reading at "Bitcoin Foundation". They can say whatever they want about Bitcoin, as they have nothing to lose... If he thinks the coin cap will be raised, he's out of his mind.

OP, have you scanned you computer for possible exploits? Have you confirmed that the address wasn't changed during copy+paste?

Their absence has been discussed around here a few weeks ago. As far as I could gather there is a mix of lack of interest and short funding for the project... which probably led to a lack of motivation. They'll probably be back soon anyways, or someone will take it from where they left I don't understand why there would be a lack of interest. If Bitcoin needs something before hitting mainstream is privacy. If people took privacy more serious when they were designing the TCP/IP protocols we wouldn't be in the NSA type mess we are at today and all those big problems could have been avoided. We need more than pseudoanonimity before Bitcoin makes it beyond the geek/VC money circles. Partly agree. More privacy would be cool, but not a necessity for many people, me included More privacy sometimes means extra means to achieve it, and some people aren't willing to go further than their current privacy procedures. I don't mind if people search all my addresses, they won't find anything compromising Definitely not using a different wallet just to be more hidden from public eye. That's why there is a lack of interest... from the 100% of Bitcoin users, the interest is only huge in 10%... The rest doesn't has such a big interest or they simply don't want/need DarkWallet.
