Cool story... Good old internet catch phrase applies, pics or GTFO!

This won't go well for Greeks... There will always be undeclared money under the mattress that many will "forget". The government is imposing even bigger control... Now is definitely the time for a switch to Bitcoin.

No news there, was any change on their pages to be expected? They're as good as dead.

This guy didn't have anywhere to run... Justice has been served, I think.

This is a great list. Had no idea that there are already this many charities accepting Bitcoin... There are probably some others outside the US, maybe you should accept international contributions to make a broader list Don't know any beyond some already listed...

Woah... What a time to scam people. How is it possible that this guy thought he could get away with this?

You can't really compare a software solution to a hardware one... Trezor is quite safe out of the box. Armory is also safe, but it is more dependent on the rest of your software environment. Just go with what fits you best

Altcoins sure brought a lot of people to Bitcoin. I think Bitcoin wouldn't be much different without altcoins, but it would definitely have less users/a slower adoption. Altcoins also brought many people aboard thinking that cryptocurrencies was a get rich fast scheme and many fell for that... Making some quite rich.

More scam? Comparing to what? If you're comparing to fiat, I bet there are more people trying to get other's fiat than people trying to get other people's Bitcoin...

Are there any volunteers to be ready to do a build, as well?
Same as my previous post applies: I'd be willing to test/try new things and even run them 24/7 if it works on an ARM system (and if there are instructions on how to do so: my compiling knowledge is very basic, not much beyond compiling a cryptocurrency wallet )

The usual topic about sex selling... This is going to make websites notice Bitcoin, after some added it and removed it from payment options. This is definitely a cash cow for these guys.

I'm planning to release the source code of my bot (the best version I currently have, although very simple).
After the release I will definitely not be able to get >50% anymore and guarantee the security of moto, so it will be up to community.
To ensure minimal safety of this process I want at least 5 people to write here that they are ready to mine moto 24/7 at least for the first two weeks.
HMC, can you insert my solver into your bot and compile it for Windows and Linux? I can give you a function that just tries to solve a level with specific nonce.
Then, I think you could make password-protected archive with all that stuff, upload it and reveal the password at some specific date and time.
So you're the one that's been running the bot? And the one who also posted a Windows bot with a throwaway account earlier? I'd be willing to run a bot 24/7, not sure for how long, if you post the source code and if I can compile it for an ARM processor.

It's not a farce, it's working exactly like they intended it to: a centralized blockchain that they can erase whenever they want, making people put full trust in them, as usual.

No Bitcoin spent today. Time to save up for Christmas shopping

Bitcoin is "hosted" wherever there is a full node completely synced. There is no "main" blockchain, there's only one blockchain.

Lost all the faith that I've ever had on the system long time ago, way before Bitcoin was created... (never had much to begin with). As for Bitcoin it doesn't have to be saved. Each day that passes makes it more difficult for someone to control Bitcoin, so no winners and no losers

If the private key has been online, consider it compromised, period. It's the best security practice.

This is a "one time process", no monitoring is made. You have to sweep the funds again if you receive more coins on those addresses
