2901  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic consequences of Russian-Ukraine War on: April 08, 2022, 02:33:01 PM
Considering how economical crisis is basically not even a crisis anymore and the regular part of our lives, I have to say it is not really that much of a big deal at all. It is quite good and I am pretty sure that it is not going to be that weird. Obviously, it is bad, obviously it is not as good as it can be, but when has it ever been?

We are living in terrible financial situations like at least once every decade and that usually means that it happens for a year and over, this time it took more than two years and it is terrible but nothing new. I am basically accustomed to be living in a terrible financial situation, and feel like this is the new normal now.
2902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment in new projects on: April 08, 2022, 12:48:27 PM
Quite sad to see these new projects having absolutely no other way left to promote their projects and just start a topic in bitcointalk. I have to say if that is the max they can reach, not even a proper account that shares images or anything, not even a bounty campaign, not even some advertisements in the forum, literally just a simple text? I mean looking at it, it doesn't have too much hype neither, no proper marketing, if it is "will done later" type of deal then wake me up when it's done.

This is a sad situation because EVERYONE thinks they can do the best token, and unfortunately, they all believe it, and majority ends up failing to do that.
2903  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading indicators/traders would you recommend? on: April 07, 2022, 09:42:37 PM

In 2019-2020 I used a lot filbfilb's predator indicator and it was performing quite well at the time.
If you have an indicator that is performing well so what is the point of leaving it? Always follow what is working for you in trade and not to be confused by others because if you allow them get you deceived you can keep going round in circle and wasting your time. I like sticking with what works.
There is a good chance that something that works for you today, may not work for you tomorrow. So, there are tons of people who end up not knowing what to do when their well working system ends up suddenly not working, or even gradually. This is why I believe that we should not be focusing on making that back, I believe that we should be focusing on profiting a bit better in the long run.

This doesn't mean that you can't make a profit with your old system ever again, it may make a comeback, so it could go from 100-80-50-70-100 all over again. It just means that it doesn't really hurt to have some sort of backup plan and some indicators to know in case yours starts to slow down.
2904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 07, 2022, 09:04:34 PM
All four played and I believe that I agree with the fact that only Liverpool looks as guaranteed as it gets. Obviously nothing is guaranteed in football, but all other teams are closer to each other. Real Madrid looks comfortable too by the way, they won their away game, and will be playing at home and will be much more comfortable, I do not think that they would lose from this point.

I mean if it was 1-0 or something like that then I would say it was closer, but it was 3-1 and Real has Benzema who is having the best season of his life at age 35, that is a big weapon to have. Let's see what happens, the games will be held in a week or so, quite soon.
2905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Billionaire Says Bitcoin May Significantly Exceed Its Previous 2022 Goals on: April 07, 2022, 08:46:56 PM
Mike Novogratz has always been a Bitcoin bull so we can set aside his predictions for Bitcoin if we want to objectively predict Bitcoin's future price. Novogratz has already mentioned huge figures in the past that didn't come true. But he will not stop from being bullish on Bitcoin because he is deeply invested in it. He cannot betray his investment and his business. And Novogratz has gone past Bitcoin shopping already because he already has so much. So what he's doing now is socially influencing Bitcoin price or hyping.
The difference is that, if there is one billionaire that has always been bull on bitcoin, that's good but individual, if there are 10, then it means there is a group forming, if there are 20 then we are talking about a community. This is why more and more people talking about bitcoin being awesome and doing great and exceeding expectations etc etc would be awesome.

I am not saying that just one of them doesn't matter, it matters and it is awesome but at the same time it is not the greatest thing in the world for crypto. Get like 20 of them together, make them say the same thing together in a conference then we would be doing awesome for sure, then we can talk about not just ATH but more like 200k+ for sure.
2906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance saves Sky Mavis, the creator of Axie Infinity after hack on: April 07, 2022, 08:30:31 PM
This is obviously a great news, but it is both not enough, but also the problem still stands. Obviously, it is quite important to get back the money and people want their money back and if you can handle that you can handle half of the problem and I am not arguing against that.

However, you have to realize that there was a hack there, which means there was a loss of trust as well, how would we know if axie won't be hacked all over again now? What if we start going back in and then someone hacks it again? There is really nothing that we can't do or say without considering if it will be hacked or not. They need to increase their trustworthiness all over again.
2907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 06, 2022, 09:24:46 PM
Both teams played badly if you ask me, they weren't good at all and Augsburg managed to be the best of the worst and got the game. This wasn't the type of game I would love to wager, it was way too bad for my taste and I didn't but seeing how the "underdogs" win, is a good thing because that means some people made some good profit from it.

It wasn't a favorites vs underdogs situation with how the odds were of course, it was close to each other but it was still favoring mainz more than augsburg, so it was a bit unexpected to say the least. Bundesliga is difficult to wager exactly because of this, you never get what you expect aside from bayern and even them sometimes.
2908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge price this year ? on: April 06, 2022, 09:08:23 PM
I feel like 50 cents is not that much possible at all. I get that it could happen, if there is a big bull run then we could see a 50 cent price reached, but I feel like even on a big bull run, something that is 3x and even more than that could possibly not happen. This is why I believe that we should avoid doing anything like investing heavily into doge just because you believe it will go to 50 cents.

Maybe it will be 20, maybe 30, but that's about it even on the best circumstances in my mind. If people invest heavily into things that are unlikely to go that high, then I have to say it is going to upset many people for sure. Just put a small amount with the hopes of a 50% increase at best and you will be more prepared.
2909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top NFT Marketplaces making Competing OpenSea on: April 06, 2022, 07:22:55 PM
Opensea is good enough, I do not believe in the idea of trying to force a competition to a business to make the market better. I mean if opensea is great, and they have no problems then keep on using that. The liberal science says that if there are 5 great ones, they will fight against each other to provide better quality and cheaper service but the reality is that most of the time they get a regulation going and still screw us instead of providing better quality and cheaper service.

Here, if opensea gets some competition, that will not change opensea, instead they will act together instead of becoming a competition, so we do not need that right now.
2910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin Spikes 10% After News Of Musk's $3B Stake in Twitter on: April 05, 2022, 09:55:49 PM
What is the connection though? I mean I get that Elon is a crypto enthusiast and I get that twitter is a place where most of the crypto talks happen and you can learn all the latest news there, so there is a connection like that. But, what is the doge connection? Why would Elon buying twitter shares would increase the price of doge? People are really investing their money into the most stupidest things ever and then cry about how they lost a lot of money.

I do not think that it means something, it shouldn't really mean something like this at all. Doge price should have been moving according to what the market is moving and that is it, nothing more.
2911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie Infinity’s $615 million crypto hack on: April 05, 2022, 09:26:58 AM
This is going to be the biggest challenge yet to Axie Infinity but am sure that in due time it can be able to get back on its feet and be flying again...so this is just a temporary setback though it is a big one, I would say. I am not a big fan of Axie Infinity but I admire its success story and how it is able to be helping a lot of people with its Play-To-Earn concept...most especially here in my own country where there can be thousands taking advantage of this opportunity to earn while gaming. Sadly, this hack will never be the last and soon we can be hearing of another digital heists with bigger and biggest amounts at stake. Let's hope that a big portion of the total assets compromised can eventually be returned to where they should be.
They will figure out a way for sure, they will also get the most help they could get from all around the world, from exchanges, from swaps, from any place that could track the money and could get it back to them.

I do not think that it would be simple, it is going to take some time but since the money cannot be cashed out that easily and the price hasn't crashed because of it too much, then we can say that it didn't happen as badly as people feared it could have. Now, imagine a world where people stole 615 million dollars and actually cashed them out and turned that into money in their bank accounts? That would have been the real terrible result for sure.
2912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: April 05, 2022, 08:40:43 AM
Mercedes have had their eyes on the AlphaTauri driver for a while, but his contract doesn't expire until 2023 and it's still unclear what Lewis Hamilton's plans will be for 2023 and whether George Russell will live up to expectations.

What I do know is that Marcedes is having issues with their W13 and this should not be a good season for them, so I would patiently wait for the end of this season before jumping to conclusions.

Gasly has been loyal to the Red Bull family for a long time, but the 25-year-old Frenchman has always been very outspoken about his expectations, and it's clear he's looking for more recognition from Red Bull and feels he's ready for a second chance in the car as he side of Verstappen.
Mercedes has no chance to get him. What could happen is that Mercedes may try, but if Red Bull realizes he will be gone, they will get him, if Mercedes can't get him then they will leave him at Alphatauri and they will goo n like that. I am not saying that he can't go to RB right now, he can do that but that doesn't mean that he has to, and Mercedes offer would make him go to red bull a lot faster.

I still think that veterans would be a lot better for this second driver position but either they have too much of an ego to try that, or they just do not think about it. Perez is way too good to leave him be, but imagine if vettel worked hard to bring Max a championship? That would have been awesome.
2913  Economy / Economics / Re: The first country in Europe to pay for gas to Russia in rubles on: April 04, 2022, 09:51:25 PM
Vatican is not related to any nation directly, even though they are in Italy, they are their own nation basically, or state, or whatever you want to call them. It is not really a big deal that they would still get rubles because I never believed that they were part of the sanctions to begin with. However, other European nations do need gas, and if Russia only works with rubles then those western nations will have to deal with rubles all over again.

The fact that ruble gained so much power so quickly back to where it was is proof that ruble and even Russian economy wasn't as impacted as people believe it would be, I can't really say much else about it and feel sorry for the situation in Ukraine.
2914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are the criteria for choosing altcoin on: April 04, 2022, 07:04:49 PM
snipped
I have been around here for a long time, and I mean like very long time and I can easily say that nothing that happens in the crypto world could make me get confused about it. I get that some people could have trouble trying to find what to invest and when to invest but I have figured that out long time ago and it hasn't been a problem for me ever since. At least 5+ years or so, and I am still using the same logic and have provided me with a good profit.

What I do is that I wait at least 6 months to a year after a coin is created, early investment never really was my forte and even though you could make a lot of money, you do not have to risk it neither. Then I just buy and hold, if it does 2x then I take my initial investment out, and I just keep the rest... as long as I can.
2915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 03, 2022, 04:30:14 PM
Although they can still comeback big next season, hopefully that time not a super team again full of clowns. The Lakers future is still a bright sunny day but yes they indeed need to dispose their excess baggage who's not really needed in the team and they can still do it especially that they still have LeBron James who's leading the team and is the biggest contributor despite of his age now, not everyone can do that! In the league now, LeBron and CP3 are the ones who are still on their best even if they're not getting any younger anymore.
I do not think they can even come back that great next season neither. People see the PPG Lebron has and thinks that he is still carrying the team but the results are obvious, even with that he is not really helping the team as much as he used to. He doesn't work too hard on defence to save energy for offense, plus he misses plenty of games.

AD is great and all but he needs to stay healthy and I am not sure if he could, never seen him stay healthy for too long, last time he was, they won a ring. So, they will probably can only afford clowns at this point, and they do not have assets to trade neither, which is why I do not think that anything they can do, could change next season.
2916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for best staking platform on: April 02, 2022, 10:49:17 AM
I don't know that much with shiba if it's staking but checking it on Binance, you'll get these interest rates: https://www.binance.com/en/earn/shib
But I guess that you know the other thing about staking in an exchange, you're giving them your coins and you're not going to get the private key of it.
Staking is basically just that, I don’t think there is any way that you will stake your cryptocurrency and you will still have full control over it (or have your private keys), the exchange or platform that you are going to be staking your cryptocurrency would have to lock it up and you would be unable to assess that cryptocurrency that you have staked on the platform till the period is complete.

The market is already a risky one and this is nothing more risky than it already is. So, what matters here is just that you select a good and trusted platform such as Binance.com like you have mentioned, or if there is any other better than it, which I don’t really think so, then you can go for that.
2917  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 02, 2022, 10:01:23 AM
I think many were disappointed in the betting price of Bitcoin as European Parliament just voted for a law to ban anonymous transactions to all Europe and exchanges are now required to even verify the out wallet where the money is going, not the smartest move to try and stop people as there is always the P2P which can be done, but overall I am sorry for the people who lost their bets just because of this.
Why do you think anyone lost his bets? The price was going down, but the final price was above 45k, so there was not a instant change.
Anyway, who decided to bet on >45k, made a good decision, odds 6.51, Wow! Just a few more hours and it would be again the "cheap" range 40-45.
Those type of odds are the proof that crypto is quite unpredictable. Everyone talks about speculation and how the price could be this or that and so forth but nobody realizes that crypto is not something you could really "know". This place is the proof of that, the odds of 6.51 shows that not many people expected for this to happen, it is not an odd that says "nobody" expected it, I mean not like 60k+ for example, of course you expected a "littl" bit.

But, when you see odds of 6.50 on football bets for example, you know that the other team will win and the team with 6.50 odds will lose. So, it is quite clear that majority didn't think that it was possible.
2918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dodo token a good buy for long term hold? on: April 01, 2022, 10:03:14 PM
I have to say if you are looking for long term investment, then it is better to invest into top coins and tokens. I do not find things that are outside of top 10 or max top 20 to be long term great and probably even half of those as well. It just doesn't make sense to me to invest a good chunk of money for long term (meaning many years) on something called "dodo token", I mean isn't it obvious that it would not be a long term project?

Hence, we are looking for something a lot more decent these days, doesn't mean that it can't go up at all, there is always a chance that it could be higher in the long run but does it really worth the risk? I do not believe so.
2919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 01, 2022, 09:11:21 PM
Aaaaand Lakers are officially out of the play-in as well. Not even a bad thing for them, it is obvious that they are horrible so who cares if they make it to play-in or not. However, this should show them that Lakers became like Miami or more importantly like Cavs. They could still have a future if they get rid of the extra weight right now, sure keep lebron if you want to because he is a good player and still going for the scoring leader position at his age.

But, I would get rid of AD and WB for whatever the cost is. I mean they are good players that other teams may use, but they are so horrible for Lakers that it didn't work out. I do not know if they can find a buyer for such a huge salary for WB, but they really need to change something for next season obviously.
2920  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising inflation forces investors to look for defensive assets. on: April 01, 2022, 08:10:56 PM
I wouldn’t call crypto currency as defensive investment at all. The crypto space is full of surprises and any small to big event around the world can shake the baseline of crypto coins. If you have said they can put money into stable coins and wait for the market to get optimum level of stability then that’s another story. However, in that case also crypto is not defensive type it’s more or less temporary escape zone.

Defensive investment would be something like Real Estate. Idk, but most of the time real estate is only growing al the time whether market is crashing or there is war out there.
It is a "defensive" method if you are looking to just protect your investment at all costs. I mean sure it could drop in the short term, but in the long term when the dollar or any fiat you may use goes down due to inflation, bitcoin goes up against it. You just need to zoom out and see it yearly or so in order to understand how awesome it is.

If you look at it from this month to last month (well it went up this time) you may see losses time to time, but yearly it is a good investment. 90%+ of the time when you buy bitcoin and wait a year, that means you are going to be in profit. Doesn't mean it is true for every single time, but that is usually what happens.
