I've seen them pop up all around me, in small convenience stores and even restaurants. I was wondering if it's a good option to buy a gift for someone else, or are the fees too high and it's not worth it? Also I'm not sure how it works but figuring they give you a private key, and how safe is that?
I never bought bitcoin from an ATM and probably I won't do it in the future either. High commissions, personal informations, very high spread... If you want to try just for fun it could be ok, but if someone has a little experience I really don't see the point unless you absolutely need some satoshi and that's the only feasible way. |

quindi fra le righe si sta dicendo che la regolamentazione non e' ragionevole Chiunque abbia un minimo di conoscenza delle criptovalute capisce immediatamente che questa proposta non ha senso. Immaginate la quantità di dati che gli exchange dovrebbero processare ogni singola volta che qualcuno fa un nuovo deposito/prelievo considerando la quantità di coin/token e wallet che ognuno può comprare ed utilizzare, sarebbe una mole di lavoro enorme che già si aggiunge al KYC, che non capisco perché a questo punto sembrerebbe che non sia più sufficiente, vorrei capire perché. il punto e' sempre quello, i legislatori ignoranti vedono un cacciavite come nemico pericoloso.. quando ci sta questa malafede e' dura spuntarla

This is not really good news for India, I think people will refrain from investing in it for huge taxes. This could hinder the progress of cryptocurrency. Even then, a Member of Parliament from India has been thinking positively about it. He has already spoken about it in Parliament. This is going to impact only the Indian cryptocurrency market that, with all due respect, it's not very important. We survived the actual ban from China, not for bitcoin only but for mining as well, having or not having India won't change things, I just feel sorry for the Indian people. |

Privacy concern is probably one reason. Yes and no, mainly because someone who is going to buy bitcoin at an ATM probably is going to get only a few hundred dollars, not big quantities. And as far as I remember those ATM don't have very good prices but again, if you buy only $100-200 you won't even notice that. |

There are many people in the world who do not use bitcoins. They have no knowledge of bitcoins. For those huge populations, digital money is still plastic cards (Credit/ debit cards). If there were no bitcoin, nothing would have changed, rather the governments and the banks would have been relieved to see that no currency exists for the people over which people have control. I still think governments wants a bitcoin free economic system.  Let's not forget that bitcoin was created a little more than 10 years ago, so we're talking about a very short time frame. And many people don't get approved by banks to open a bank account, so sooner or later someone will them about bitcoin and how to easily transfer money without needing a bank approval. |

You pretty much have 2 choices.
1. Only invest the right amounts whereas you wouldn't be forced to sell(hence get taxed) if it's the case you end up needing money. Pretty much always have enough cash ready for your needs and for accidents and such.
2. You move countries.
I'm not sure about the second option for a country like India, I try to explain myself better: a EU citizen for example can easily go to another country within the EU without needing a permit/visa; people in the US can go to another US state with different rules; I'm not sure if Indian people can actually move somewhere else as permanent resident without a visa. Of course it all depends on the amount of money we're talking about, $100k for example may look like a lot of money but in reality in many countries that's nothing. If we're talking about several millions than it's a totally different story. I've read many stupid things about bitcoin and cryptos, but here we just got to another level. Those people have no idea what hodling means. |

As the rate of Bitcoin ATM increased it has become evident that holders of Bitcoin can spend their Bitcoin at any shops or outlet, this give Bitcoin the mainstream adoption and the rate of Bitcoin ATM increase to a very high and the previous year 2021 saw where bitcoin ATM we're installed in gas stations and now pos outlets now accept Bitcoin debit cards for various transactions/payment. About 20,000 Bitcoin ATM was installed in 2021 and that has not stopped as the have been an installation of over 3,000 Bitcoin ATM in the first quarter of the year 2022. And if bitcoin suffers, the whole crypto ecosystem suffers as well. I don't really see any reason for Satoshi to show up again, it's clear why he chose to disappear. |

That brings me to my question "imagine a future without cryptocurrency Bitcoin and a world without digital payments". Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are one thing, digital payments another, just think about PayPal for example, that has been created several years ago. And even more than moving money around bitcoin gave people the consciousness that they can be their own bank, they can actually own their money without relaying on anyone else. That's for me the biggest lesson I've learnt with bitcoin. |

Not sure I can ever contribute useful thoughts to how the Bitcoin economy can remain interesting for miners at that stage but I do agree that utility is probably a huge part of any future solution. Do you mean why the miners should still validate transactions at that point? Well, the fees they'll earn should be more than enough as incentive since bitcoin will be extremely rare, and people will be talking about satoshis by that time because the value, probably, will be extremely high. |

Comunque per curiosità ho appena provato a cercare su Google "Blockchain.com reddit" e questi sono i risultati, anche quelli che seguono praticamente sono sempre sullo stesso tono:  Ti consiglio di leggere i vari thread per capire se qualcuno sia riuscito a risolvere il problema in qualche modo. |

per monero, quello default, ovviamente.. potresti usare coinomi se vuoi provarlo ma non ha molto senso Per default intendi dire Monero GUI Wallet? In tal caso, se non ricordo male perché l'ho disinstallato una vita fa, bisogna scaricare tutta la blockchain se non vado errato, quindi bisogna tenere presente che occuperà un bel po' di spazio. Se si ha un pc dedicato per le cripto nessun problema, se uno lo usa anche quotidianamente allora meglio farsi due calcoli. |

Can we assume that around 3 million bitcoins will be lost forever for various reasons? I may still believe that the number will be less or less than 3 million considering some people will be able to get their wallet back sooner or later. But when I envision a market with a number of coins circulating then I believe it will be something very extraordinary in the future.
Maybe not 3 million bitcoin but at least 2 millions yes, I would say those are lost for sure. Those of course include Satoshi's million bitcoin. It's sad that there are some many lost bitcoins, at the same time it just reduces (again) the supply and increases its value and scarcity. |

Che in realtà non è nemmeno una edizione limitata  Potere del marketing e "dell'industria"! Ci fosse la stessa dedizione e spinta commerciale dietro bitcoin... Difatti avevo specificato "pensando che sia un'edizione limitata" La gente è talmente abituata a credere a qualsiasi notizia, o presunta tale, che legge sui social media che neanche verifica prima di agire. Avevo già letto che qualcuno spacciava questi orologi come edizione limitata, valore da rivendita altissimo, gente che pagava per far andare gli altri in coda etc etc, quando a breve si potranno tranquillamente comprare online. Faranno la fine di chi aveva fatto le scorte di carta igienica e gel igienizzante da rivendere durante la pandemia |

Nel frattempo è stato minato il 19,000,000 Bitcoin.  Mancano solo 2,000,000 di Bitcoin da minare da qui al 2140. Certe volte non si ha idea di quanto sarà importante la scarsità digitale. L'ultimo bitcoin verrà minato in circa 40 anni. Trovo incredibile che la gente si metta a fare ore e ore di coda per comprare un orologio pensando che sia un'edizione limitata però nessuno si rende conto della scarsissima disponibilità di bitcoin.
