361  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why you need patience to invest in cryptocurrency on: December 27, 2023, 08:00:02 PM

The point of this story is that many people have been introduced to various investment platforms but didn't have the patience to continue because they wanted to see profits as fast as possible. I'm happy because my sis, despite selling all her Pi, now realizes it's real and this will motivate her to keep mining. The person who bought her Pi is investing in her future because she understands its potential value when fully launched.
This is why it's good to buy as much Bitcoin during its bear run or bear market and not succumb to fear and sell them off. Cryptocurrency investments require patience.
It's very common this days for people to easily give up after trying a concept and it didn't work, or likewise want to see results before believing that a concept actually works, forgetting the fact that nothing good comes easily, or whatever asset whose value will skyrocket high does so in a short while. Hence, patience remains a must have for whoever wishes to reap good of a crypto investment, since Bitcoin is an asset whose value grow with demand and supply.
Because patience is that quality that helps you to endure even when everything seems rough due to the fluctuating  up/down nature of the price of crypto

But if an investor learns there is a cycle in investing in crypto, I think he will be patient enough to wait for the halving. Somehow the cycle is too long for them to wait especially those who are here for the short term only, they will eventually sell when they see prices go down or if they are already in profit for as 20%.

When crypto is introduced to them as get rich quick, the more they would assume a short term will be the route.

I'm excited about the Successful listing of $UP on Bitget LaunchPad stage on Bitget LaunchPad. I think congratulations are in order to all investors. I'm glad the learn to earn quiz is giving extra opportunity for TonUP enthusiasts to accumulate $UP or simply buy up now that's listed for trading activities

Nice success. Price has risen to $0.85 from $0.10. This is already a huge pump. investors must haave been selling already while the price shot to 8x.
as much as i wanted to rise the pump in this token, it feels like i'm already giving away all my data all over again if another exchange will be asking my KYC documents. And it's tiresome already to keep signing up and submitting them. are you guys trusting bitget?

Telegram, though has its wallet which if this UP token is automatically added to the exchanges in Telegram or the swap in Tonkeeper, the better. Just trading it there is more convenient, nothing will be asked since telegram only requires phone numbers.

What do the developer plan for the future? Is this infestation being done by the government?

Now that you haave mentioned it, it's somehow going to make sense if Blackrock is up to take over the crypto market.  If those Ordinals are not enough to discourage people from using BTC, imagine if they add another BRC20. But this will again fall to a conspiracy theory. It's always a conspiracy theory even after it happens.

I thought there would be a fork that would happen because of this since there are already devs expressing their dismay.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 20, 2023, 03:12:13 PM
This is a very risky fight for Teofimo Lopez, Ortiz gave Lomachenko a tough fight when they fought and He's going to give Lopez a much tougher fight, Ortiz is a guy who doesn't back up and has powers on both hands and can deliver lethal body shots, we all know Lopez

Teofimo definitely knows what he is doing.

you say Ortiz is a tough opponent of Lopez but the former losses to Loma via Unanimous decision, I didn't see the struggle there from Loma. Remember that Teo beat Loma, so I think Teo here is the one who should dictate this fight.

I'm not sure if there's an official betting odds yet for this fight, but according to https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/teofimo-lopez-v-jamaine-ortiz/winner

Teo is a heavy favorite with -500 odds.

Ortiz though lost against Lomaa still is a high risk against Lopez. He wouldn't be matched with Loma if he hadn't got what it takes but this fight has low rewards for Teo.
Ortiz made a good performance with Loma, he isn't such a weak fighter. But it would have been better if Teo took Matias unification. This isn't even mandatory for Teo.

This is still a good fight to watch. Teo is someone to watch out as this is the peak of his career.

Should the country tax those shopping sites if they hurt the local economy?

I don't really see them hurting the local economy but people today prefer them since it's more convenient already since the covid, they are the ones serving the public. And they have cheap prices too which even if they hurt the local economy, they will not hurt the pockets of the shoppers.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 18, 2023, 02:58:48 PM

Regardless what the result is, I won't say it's a match fixing since I believe something bad could happen and there's always a possibility luck not always on favorite team/player.

I have heard speculations of match fixing though but how true it is still left to be proven. This is why it is good to bet with big leagues and serious ones where such occurrence to happen will be limited. However, for local leagues or community cups, such is possible to happen because the officiating is not standard and therefore there could be some sort of corruption and fixing that will go on for the highest bidder, such could be the case for smaller leagues that is not under the watch of global media.

There's a proven cases regarding on this match fixing and there's some people behind on this crazy activities got penalized on the league where they belong. And for sure this is not only happening on current era but rather there's more cases like this happening before since there's less technology that can detect it and people can't report easily to authorities handling the league if they suspected such thing to happen.

Maybe at current digital era where camera is everywhere this activity is not  or less to happen on bigger leagues since they can easily get busted by doing such illegal actions. But on minor leagues for sure we can still see this to happen since those leagues didn't get to much attention coming from media or large number of fans around the country.

I'm sure there is. Those big guys in the sports want to secure a win and they will do it blatantly if they have to but most of the stuff done is behind close doors and only the referee and the fighters are going to be participating.

If they make it obvious, there will be a lot of complain in the sports industry and there will be a lot of media coverage of such match and credibility off the athletes will be questioned.

lol I don't get it. It wouldn't sound smooth in real life. Only works if the girl also knows what BTC is. But using BTC to find a girl will likely find a gold digger.

Whoever funded the ad, has a very peculiar way of attracting a girl. Making a girl listen to a headset while you don't know each other is creepy.

374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 14, 2023, 02:30:49 PM
Who should will blame for this ?? Gambling?? No!! people are already aware what Gambling is like and they still continue to risks their money to make money by all means. People should understand gambling that winning is by luck when losing money it is everything .
Unfortunately people are gambling for money, they do know lose is inevitable, but they always hope their last bet will able to recover all of their previous losses. That's why people who ran out of money in gambling don't mind to taking out a loan to gamble more with their last money.

So many people gamble and lose money even everything they have and are homeless but they never kill themselves. He was just not fit for that pressure, it's definitely not just that gambling is the reason for taking his life. There is much more to it.

He is a businessman as said in the link and most probably he is afraid that the world will see him in a position that people will look him down.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 12, 2023, 05:18:39 AM
When I say 'line,' I am referring to the spreads or handicap of a certain team in the game. Through my years of experience, I have noticed that putting effort into analyzing the team's statistics and other factors, such as news and rumors, does not significantly affect my chances of winning.

I got this belief now that bookmakers are already knowledgeable about these aspects, and they take them into consideration when establishing a betting line for a specific game.

How about you? Do you share the same perspective or not?
I believe it is possible to win in sports betting by analyzing betting lines. We can observe when the game between the two teams will be seen by placing the odds between the two teams on the betting platform. The team that is stronger has the lower odds. For example Bangladesh vs India match odds will be 1.5: 5.6. From here it is very predictable which team will win the match. We know of course that India is stronger and more likely to win than Bangladesh. If a man can analyze the batting line then surely he will understand and bet for India. From here I can say that if you analyze the betting line, you can definitely win the bet.

The favorite team wins in most of the time and thats where a gambler can make some wins. There is no assurance  to make profit however as they could also lose especially on sports like soccer, the tide can turn quickly where the underdog can win.

In boxing, its always the favorite boxer who wins, its the odds that is not making a bettor a big profit.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 11, 2023, 03:23:50 PM
Who do you report to?
For a very organized maybe it satisfies him to have a spreadsheet of all his bets and then reflect on where his bad decisions are.

I'm not that person. But before sleeping I would still be thinking I could have won this and that. If all I was playing during the night was just dice and slot, there is nothing to think about, it's all just luck all I do is look into my balance and do the usual face palm.

377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 11, 2023, 02:36:40 PM
Wait....I don't fully understand the story. He banned himself from gambling, but he was still able to gamble. Additionally, you mentioned that when he gambles, he wouldn't be paid if he wins big, or he would only be paid a maximum of $200.

Does this mean that the casino is allowing him to bet big but would only pay a maximum of $200? Nah, this seems unusual, it could suggest that the casino might be cheating him, or perhaps he fabricated the story. Which is the case?

Tell him to play online, no more banning would happen even if he is too good, unless he's cheating.

lol Casino would love him. He will only get $200 no matter how big his winning is. There is no point in gambling. He must have been high when he decided to exclude himself. He seems to be the guy with extreme thoughts but he is a fool and it would put him in history. The dumbest gambler.

He should just look for something else to play around with rather than sticking to gambling when he isn't allowed to win big.

378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 10, 2023, 02:51:57 PM
Hey house someone need a few clips here, don't know if a post of this exact nature has been discussed though.

In a situation where the both spouse are gamblers. Husband gambles, wife gambles, how can both of them manage the situation in terms of finance and the family affairs especially when children are now involve so that the time both spends on gambling doesn't affect family moments and affairs in general.

Would it help if  one of the couple quit for the other and if that's the case who should quit for who.

Only an irresponsible man will want to put the finances of the house into his wife. Gambling is not a source of income, so I don't understand why you want to place the house obligation on a woman, even when she earns her money, as long they are husband and wife, the husband has duties and one of them is to provide for the house but if she has the means of source of income, she can help but it is not a most that she has to do it, not written anywhere even in the modern marriage doesn't say the husband and wife must split bills but where there is love, she can do anything for her man if there is a means.

Gambling is not a regular stream of income but if for instance, the wife made something huge from gambling, if you are lucky and loved by your woman, trust me she will spend half of her money on you but if there is nothing like love, she will squeeze that money on her hand and wouldn't give you a cent but regardless of they win or not, it is not her duty to help you as a man of the house.

And they have children which is going to make anyone believe this woman is not responsible enough so she needs to quit and focus more on her children. Children need a mother at least one parent has to be hands-on to take care of and guide the kids. Regardless of how rich they've become through gambling, the family has to be their prime concern.
379  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 10, 2023, 01:29:32 PM
Yeah you read the question correctly.
Many addicted gamblers who have lost a lot to gambling will be the ones to regret most of their decision to start gambling because of the looses it has put them and how it has badly affected their lives. For any gambler that has benefited like winning a very big amount of money that changed their life, they will always bless the day that they knew what gambling is and the day they started playing. The person with regret is always the person with a bad experience.
Yet, they decided to gamble which means that they are willing to try unfortunately, they are not lucky and lose their money. But if they were too lucky at that time, I was expecting that they would say thank you to the person who introduced gambling.

Honestly, we don't need to regret or blame someone for our losses because at the time to decide to gamble, we think that it is okay until we find it wrong.
And because of these social media influencers showing big winnings, we also then think that we can also win that amount. Unfortunately, gambling doesn't guarantee winnings but many people try to chase their luck, gamble more, and lose more.

For a person to go back to the beginning and start blaming the person who introduced him to an online casino, he is a very angry man who couldn't move on. I would also assume this man lost everything from his house, and car, and his own family ditched him for his addiction. Maybe the person who introduced him to gambling has this intention that that person has taken his wife.

Sounds like a Korean movie already.

Dustin will have the fighting will if it's a rematch with Gaethje. Gotta relight that fire within him.

Conor is not into MMA anymore. I think he shifted his focus on politics already, rumor was that he is running for President in Ireland. Who would have thought?
Well, the guy can fight physically and verbally, which seems a perfect combination for a politician. Chandler is going to wait forever.
