381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: FLYP tumbler Pending issues HELP needed! Reward 200$ on: January 16, 2024, 12:10:42 AM
Flyp is an instant exchanger, not a tumbler so it is fine to mention their name. Your transaction was probably sent right before that wave of BRC-20 token spam caused a large spike in fees. From what I can see, fees have already dropped to the low 40 sat/vB level and a transaction which matches your fee was confirmed several minutes ago as well as its descendant.
382  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of excitement on: January 15, 2024, 10:45:01 PM
Volatility is usually not great for investments. If you want Bitcoin to go up 3x in value really quickly then you should also be prepared to possibly lose 90% of what you invested. If we saw the kind of fluctuations that were typical in the early days then it would have never reached the point of even being considered for an ETF. It would look like Bitcoin was only a pump and dump.

If Bitcoin is going to reach a new all time high then it needs greater use beyond just speculating on the price. It will reach a new ATH eventually but we need to be patient enough to allow for gradual adoption.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 15, 2024, 05:42:06 AM
I have not heard of any of the scenarios you are describing. If a casino is holding your withdrawal for a long time it is usually for a good reason. If they did it just to scam you it would hurt their reputation and cost them future profit. Signing up through an influencer's affiliate link should make no difference in how you are treated. Maybe if you have direct communication with that influencer they can use their connections to get your issue looked at and solved faster. There have been cases with campaign managers in this forum who have gotten people's problems resolved quickly by getting in contact with the casino who hired them.
384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC free slots available [1 Jan 2024] on: January 15, 2024, 05:11:40 AM
Tonight I was able to submit a transaction I had pending for almost a week while there was still a few slots left, but unfortunately I got a message saying 'captcha not right'. I had already solved the captcha correctly so I am not sure why I got that error. I tried to resubmit my transaction while it was showing 7 slots remaining but I was too slow and those spots were gone by the time I clicked the button to submit it.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin's Financial Advice on: January 14, 2024, 06:54:19 AM

The replies to this tweet are the perfect example of why it was such a dumb idea to allow people to pay a fee to have their tweets boosted.

Regarding his advice, I think it is mostly common sense. Having a diversified portfolio is good if it includes Bitcoin, a few stocks and some real estate. If he meant it in the same sense that some altcoiners talk about diversification by investing in multiple cryptocurrencies then that is just dumb, but I doubt that's what he meant.

Saving is something which already widely promoted amongst Bitcoiners. Some people don't agree with just hodling your money and never touching it but it is a good plan if you are preparing for the future.

Having a boring portfolio is also good because the best performing investments over long time periods tend to be those that carry less risk.
386  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whenever ORDI and SATS are pumping we get crazy miner transaction fees... why on: January 14, 2024, 06:06:01 AM
As we saw for the past week with fees being around 30 sats/vB, the hype surrounding Ordinals isn't organic. The mempool gets spammed in waves because there isn't steadily increasing demand for this garbage. Investors pour money into scammy useless token projects so they can prop up the price and then launch new tokens to keep this scam going a bit longer. A new BRC-20 token started minting and the high fees and pumping prices for anything BRC-20 related is great marketing for them.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith January 13 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: January 14, 2024, 05:38:27 AM
Beterbiev continues to destroy every opponent that steps into the ring with him. Age and inactivity didn't matter much because he is still a beast. Smith showed some improvement from when he fought Canelo but he is still incapable of using his size to his advantage. He could've been more successful by boxing from a distance.

With this mandatory out of the way, it is time to make the undisputed fight against Bivol. It will be an interesting clash of styles. Bivol is a much more skillful fighter whose style might frustrate Beterbiev but he lacks the power to keep Beterbiev from coming forward. Every time Beterbiev lands he does damage, he can even hurt you with a jab. For Bivol it will be difficult to avoid that freight train coming towards him for twelve rounds.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 13, 2024, 05:40:11 AM
Gamblers can be weirdly superstitious sometimes and believe that there are certain rituals or behaviors which can lead them to winning. For the most part these are relatively harmless. If you are losing badly and looking for some sort of sign that your luck is about to change then you might have a problem and need to stop. I am sure there are gamblers who are religious and they say that they'll go to church every Sunday and donate money to charity if they can hit a big win. Prayer isn't going to help you win, but out of desperation people will act irrationally.

Ok I know I did not use multiple accounts in my home, occasionally while helping a referral I logged in with his email on my computer to show him how it works and that was may be 2 years ago.
I also agree to your statement that abuser generally plays ignorant but can I request to consider my situation again. At least allow me to withdraw my funtokens which I invested from my money.

Occasionally means you did it more than one time. Why would you need to log into another user's account multiple times to show them how the site works? Why couldn't you show them while logged into your own account? Claiming from a faucet and playing a hi-lo game isn't rocket science where people need to be guided in how to do it. Your explanation doesn't make sense and is incriminating you further.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can`t see my ethereum in my wallet, but exists in blockchain? on: January 13, 2024, 04:04:01 AM
It would be really helpful if you told us which wallet you used to create the receiving address. Not every ethereum wallet uses the same derivation path so you might get different addresses when you restore the seed in a different wallet. If you are using Metamask or another wallet that fetches your history through Infura, then it could be you are in a sanctioned country and those wallets won't work without changing the default configuration.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: January 12, 2024, 04:39:17 AM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?

From your description it seems that you are just assuming that the man is mentally unstable by the way he is dressed. As long as somebody has the capabilities to understand what they are doing then it is up to the casino to decide if they wan to provide their service to them. They aren't taking advantage of him by allowing him to use money he earned in the way he chooses.

Mental instability can be subjective. Somebody can be neurodivergent and exhibit strange behavior and yet is still capable of being CEO of a billion dollar company, like Elon Musk for example. If Elon Musk wasn't rich and well dressed some people also would think he was too unstable to be allowed to gamble.
392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transactions confirmation. on: January 12, 2024, 04:02:51 AM
It is not necessary to wait for 6 confirmations. Some wallets even allow you to spend unconfirmed coins. The amount of confirmations is an indication of how secure it is to accept a payment. If you are a business it is best to wait for at least 1 confirmation to avoid getting ripped off by a double spending attempt. Unconfirmed transactions can always be reversed by replacing the original transaction with one paying a higher fee. With 1 or more confirmations it is still possible to reverse through a chain reorganization but very unlikely and practically impossible after a certain amount.

The address receives frequent large withdrawals from Binance. It is either a large whale or maybe a company who owns this wallet. It is unclear how they are deciding who to send sats to. If it was based on pulling random addresses which were active recently you would expect more taproot addresses, which are involved in ordinals to be included, but I don't see any.

It could still be a dusting attack even though the amounts are larger than is typical because they expect you to pay high fees. When fees are high many wallets won't select really small UTXOs when creating a transaction.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 11, 2024, 06:24:15 AM
I had the feeling they would lift Nery's suspension.

Yes, it was already lifted and was reported.
Former WBC champ Luis Nery has suspension lifted, will fight Oct. 6

The WBC suspension was different from the ban he got from the Japanese commission. The WBC comes off as being biased since fighters from their country always get lenient punishments. Six months is just a normal break in between fights in the current generation. Likewise, the Japanese suspension which was supposed to be for life ended up being meaningless because it was lifted as soon as he became a contender to a Japanese champion. In boxing, rules don't really apply because for the right price just about anybody can be bought.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: January 10, 2024, 06:29:50 AM
Is this true? Or RIZIN and Manny Pacquiao just want to give Mayweather an offer of a match in Japan.? How can it be that I have not heard Mayweather talking of a match with Pacquiao in Japan?

Anyhow, if the match is legit, I pick Mayweather to win. Mayweather is the more prepared of the two, he made exhibition matches that keep his body conditioned. Pacquiao is more youthful however after he retired from boxing, he turned out to be more occupied with his political aspirations. Many fans will watch this match regardless of whether this is just an exhibition however I do not see these breaking records as what they did before.

I have not seen any official confirmation from Floyd yet. There was some videos on YouTube that are trying to build hype for this fight but when you click on them they are just a bunch of AI-generated clickbait garbage piecing together out of context quotes and old video footage. You would think that if this fight was really happening, Floyd would be all over social media running his mouth and publicizing this event.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I used a mixer and then got banned from exchange. Now what? on: January 10, 2024, 06:05:41 AM
There is a limit to how many hops into your transaction history exchanges will look into. If there is enough distance between your current wallet the mixing service you used then a new exchange would be unlikely to ban you based on blockchain data not being enough to prove you were involved in illegal activity. It is not a good idea to use mixers if you intend to use centralized exchanges. You are probably not entirely out of options but you will have to look into that yourself since discussions around how to remove taint from your coins might go against the forum's new rules.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 10, 2024, 02:49:06 AM
I had the feeling they would lift Nery's suspension. This will be a massive fight in Japan and they don't want to lose that revenue to another country. Nery has shown some weakness when he is hit to the body and that is probably where Inoue will be targeting. Despite having an impressive record, I don't think Nery has the style to beat Inoue. Nery is more of a brawler, Inoue should be able to outsmart him. I'm predicting a late body shot KO.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on: January 09, 2024, 04:57:59 AM
Many years ago there was an exploit on Primedice in which users were able to access decrypted server seeds and manipulate results. It is possible for these types of vulnerabilities to exist but security is taken more seriously in online casinos today than it was in the early days of Bitcoin. If you found an exploit today you might have trouble withdrawing because casinos will delay your payment for a long time while they're doing KYC background checks and analyzing your betting history for any irregularities.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is GRIN still a thing? on: January 09, 2024, 04:26:14 AM
Grin had a lot of promise early on because of its privacy and scalability. Launching it before there was a proper GUI wallet was a mistake. Not having any addresses was confusing and one of the ways in which it could be transferred was by sending it to an IP address. Deanonymizing users via their IP address is completely contrary to what you would expect from a privacy coin. There was a lot of funding behind it. From the start, the supply became centralized because large investors owned most of the hashpower. This excluded average users from mining and made the fair launch aspect meaningless.

After all these early issues I stopped paying attention to it. There are other blockchains working on privacy, either directly onchain or through external protocols, so Grin has lost its early mover advantage and it'll be difficult for it to recover.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: January 09, 2024, 03:57:26 AM
Francis by KO thats for sure. Francis eating the punch of Fury like its nothing will only make AJs punch less effective.

Good for Francis not waiting for Fury rematch. He didnt fumble the bag this time but Fury for not taking the immediate rematch. Dana goes to the ER again while overdriving AJ shill.

Fury did not really test Ngannou's punch resistance because he fought cautiously after getting dropped and didn't throw many punches. AJ is a more powerful puncher than Fury so he has a better chance of winning by knockout. AJ also gets hurt easier so if he gets hit like Fury did, he might not survive. Both men, Joshua and Ngannou, have devastating power and are capable of changing the course of a fight with a single punch. This unpredictability of the outcome is what makes the fight so intriguing
