1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC users actually care about privacy? on: September 18, 2021, 09:29:29 PM
Bitcoin users who care about privacy will just move towards more decentralized options. Before KYC was mandatory I used to use big exchanges like Coinbase and Binance but eventually those were no longer options. Selling BTC for fiat is not the only way of using Bitcoin. If you cannot use exchanges there are still some options for using Bitcoin privately. You can buy anonymous prepaid cards with Moon browser extension, you can buy items from many stores through Bitrefill, and there are also some services which accept Bitcoin directly. I have always been able to find some way to utilize Bitcoin without KYC and I am sure people will continue to design solutions where you are able to preserve some privacy.
1142  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US to make Bitcoin use a FELONY unless report sender's social security number on: September 18, 2021, 05:04:09 AM
And people still stupidly believe America is the home of the free. That is an absolute joke. There is already mass economic surveillance and it continues to get worse. How many terrorists and money launderers have they caught after enacting all these KYC/AML regulations? How many people are they protecting by limiting their access to cryptocurrency?
1143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Economists say each BTC transaction causes 272g of waste on: September 18, 2021, 01:58:56 AM
I hate when they frame it as waste per transaction. If you interpret it literally then you would think your electricity bill would be hundreds of thousands of dollars a year just from transacting but that is not at all how Bitcoin works. The amount of electricity they are talking about is not used for making transactions, it is used to keep the network secure. If you see it that way then you might understand why this electricity usage is necessary.
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is CoinMarketCap a scam? on: September 18, 2021, 01:43:52 AM
Safemoon is mostly traded on decentralized exchanges and it has very low volume. It's market cap is not an accurate reflection of it's value. I can see why they would exclude it from the top 200. Market cap can be a misleading statistic so I've never really paid attention to any coin's ranking.
1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some Crosschain Bridges on: September 17, 2021, 07:42:12 AM
I do not understand this bridge, can all tokens on the network be bridged? Or only tokens that have been created in multiple networks

It has to be a cross chain token like Tether. You can also use a bridge to transfer BTC and received a pegged version on a different blockchain.

So far all the token bridges have been very limited. The best way to transfer coins between blockchains is to go through Binance which for some people is not an option due to being region blocked or because of KYC requirements. It is also not trustless going through a centralized exchange. With so many cross-compatible chains I expect there to be more development in this area so that people can seamlessly transact across various networks.
1146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think Ethereum is more dynamic than bitcoin on: September 17, 2021, 07:01:18 AM
You could describe ethereum as more dynamic but that is not the whole story. The most popular applications on ethereum are defi platforms which are ponzi and casino-like. There are also issues with centralization and security. Most people don't care because they just want to make money but it is worth considering the differences. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. It is useful in more important ways.
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible for SHIBA INU to reach 0.01$? on: September 17, 2021, 06:20:35 AM
Shiba was finally listed on Coinbase and saw a big pump because of this. Now is a good time to sell. I don't think this coin has much of a future. The dogecoin hype has died down significantly and the same will happen with Shiba Inu.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson on: September 16, 2021, 06:46:21 AM
Jamel has been an overachiever in his career. He has accomplished a lot more than somebody with his talent level would be expected. He is a warrior and expect him to make it a competitive fight. Shakur has been compared to Floyd Mayweather Jr. His style is ultra defensive and many would consider him a boring fighter. Herring will have a significant reach and height advantage but Stevenson showed in his last fight he can still box circles around tall fighters. I think the skill of Stevenson will give him the victory.
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: BFG🚀|BSC token of the BetFury|🎲 Mining🎲Staking🎲Farming|🍌Listed on ApeSwap🐵 on: September 16, 2021, 04:08:20 AM
I see that the Biswap volume for BFG is now being tracked on CoinMarketCap. Biswap is by far the biggest market for trading BFG right now but as there are more opportunities to get listed on other exchanges we will see the volume better distributed and Biswap's influence will not be so impactful.
1150  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTCWin Lambo0.2BTC DailyJackpot$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 16, 2021, 03:37:39 AM
Message for administrators, I probably found a bug that should be fixed.

In the table that is in the "YOUR LOCKED SAVINGS" link:
- if I want to sort the table according to the "EXPIRES" column, then the table is sorted by the day number, but it should be correct according to the date and time.

I had not noticed this until now but you are correct. The column should be sorted by chronological order instead of going by day number and ignoring month and time. Luckily, this is only an aesthetic bug and does not affect our tokens earned.
1151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: September 16, 2021, 02:55:34 AM
2 weeks after the Caleb Plant - Canelo Alvarez fight, we will see another great fight in Crawford and Porter.

So many great fights to close out the year. The Fury vs. Wilder fight is also a few weeks earlier. Unfortunately they are all paywalled through pay-per-view, which means if you want to watch them all you will have to pay over $200 for all three events.

Well, we all know already that Crawford will have be the favorite here because he is the champion and at the same time he is also undefeated but the differences between these 2 aren't that far since both of them are good players. If you are a bettor, think twice Cheesy. We've already saw the Pacquiao-Ugas fight where many are betting Pacquiao as the winner but it didn't happen. I'm not saying that this will happen here but still, there is a chance for the underdog to win. A punch can change everything. Smiley

This seems to be the consensus. The record and status of Crawford makes him the favorite but Porter should not be counted out. His unorthodox style tends to give everyone problems. The biggest fights Porter has been in, against Spence and Thurman, there was only a difference of a few rounds that decided the outcome.
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What happened with Dogecoin faucets? on: September 16, 2021, 02:32:02 AM
I remember one of the biggest faucets being Moon Dogecoin. After the price went up they decided to shut down and stopped paying users their pending withdrawals after a few weeks.

Even though the fees are not so expensive it would take an extremely long time to reach the withdrawal minimum if it has remained unchanged on any of the faucets that I remember claiming from in the past.
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana was down for several hours on: September 15, 2021, 07:46:32 AM
Incredible how SOL can still have a high price when the network can down like this. So basically they were trolled with DOS attack Grin
I think this event serves as a wake up call, just like EOS in the past, to prove that SOL network isn't robust and valuable. I'm pretty surprised with the rebound shortly after the dip, is the market so irrational? Or is this just a dead cat bounce? Do SOL bag holders here are still optimistic?

Solana is an interesting protocol and is backed by institutional investors. Many people see it as a credible threat to ethereum. People who invest in these hyped altcoins are willing to overlook certain flaws if they believe this coin will make them rich. We can see this situation and point to Ethereum and their unplanned network forks. Ethereum has come out fine after these issues and that gives Solana investors confidence in their protocol.
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: September 15, 2021, 01:35:55 AM
We will finally see Crawford against an elite welterweight. Porter is a rugged fighter who has had some close decisions against top fighters like Spence and Thurman. He has the ability to pull off an upset so if the odds are attractive enough it might be worth putting a bet on him.
1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Jonas Sultan vs Carlos Caraballo - October 30, 2021 on: September 15, 2021, 12:47:34 AM
The Puerto Rican might be a good prospect but he is facing somebody with much more experience and this will be a significant test for him. Sultan has not been consistent enough to become champion. He beat Casimero but then lost to Ancajas. Sultan has 5 losses but has never been knocked out. My prediction is that this will go the distance but the undefeated fighter will get the decision.
1156  Economy / Speculation / Re: Microsteel keeps buying into BTC on: September 14, 2021, 04:09:48 AM
I don't have any idea what Microstrategy does and I often get their name confused with Microsoft, Micro Center, and other similarly named companies.

5050 is a lot of BTC. They bought it over a period of several weeks and their volume is still a small amount of Bitcoin's trading volume so we might not see an immediate impact. When they buy so much BTC it will create scarcity and over time I do think it will help the price reach an all time high.
1157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Proof of Work still the winner on: September 14, 2021, 03:44:21 AM
I had completely forgotten about this coin. The devs always said miners should not be using consumer grade SSDs and instead recommended going with high endurance drives used in data centers. They tried to avoid using terms like proof-of-work and mining to market themselves as environmentally friendly but the truth is that doing this on a large scale created a ton of waste and used lots of electricity.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What about Litecoin? on: September 14, 2021, 01:03:35 AM
Today someone played an interesting “game” with Lite, when it suddenly pumped to 240$ and then again dumped to 170$. Everything happened so fast and unexpectedly for me. Now I'm just sitting and thinking, what was it and what could it mean. Very odd moment. Think, we need to pay more attention to Lite now, it can grow up now.

There was a press release published in the media saying that the Litecoin Foundation had partnered with Walmart. It turned out to be fake news and Charlie Lee had to go on Bloomberg to deny these rumors.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: September 13, 2021, 04:39:30 AM

I thought that the match could have been fixed as well, good money though for Tito if he took a dive in round 1, LMAO. The announcer said that Tito mentions that training in boxing is very different, specially the head movement. And now we see how he paid the price by not moving his head, he got knock out in round 1. If he took a dive then he should not be badly hurt, but in any case, the fans didn't get their money's worth.

I will never think that it's a fix the punch is very real and Ortiz looks groggy on those head punches and these are MMA fighters, not wrestlers in WWE they give it all but Silva proves to be the better fighter he is well trained and has good ring generalship, I never though that it will end so early.

Actually Tito Ortiz had a brief pro wrestling career in TNA Wrestling. If anybody would throw a fight for money it is him and he would even know how to make it look convincing.
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible for SHIBA INU to reach 0.01$? on: September 12, 2021, 11:05:38 PM
It would have to increase more than 1000x in price. I do not see it happening for a very long time. The meme coin trend has come and gone. Shiba has managed to remain somewhat popular so it isn't going to die but it is not a very good investment. If you are looking to make a profit there is no reason to hodl and wait for it to reach $0.01 when there are much better options.
