1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 22, 2021, 06:01:16 AM
After being dominated by an opponent like Ugas it is time for Pacquiao to retire from the sport. He has had a remarkable legacy and has nothing to prove anymore. He is not going to beat any of the champions and even somebody coming up like Vergil Ortiz beats him.

For Ugas this is a massive victory. He has been overlooked most of his career and now he is the active champion with the best name on his resume. I don't know if he wins against Crawford or Spence but he deserves the opportunity to prove himself and also deserves the payday.

Paul vs. Woodley info
Date: Aug. 29 | Start time: 8 p.m. ET
Location: Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse -- Cleveland, Ohio
How to watch: Showtime PPV | Price: $59.99

I'm surprised with the PPV price, I don't know that it's this expensive, maybe higher than the Pacquiao vs Spence/Ugas PPV.

This is 10 bucks more than they charge Jake Paul vs Ben Askren or Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather fights. But this is all due to Showtime streaming it. For example DANZ (with fighter like Canelo or GGG) usually charge around 20-30 bucks for a monthly subscription, while here is 60 bucks only for one night. Robbery!  Angry

Paul might be one of the most recognizable names to casual viewers but the fight is not worth that much money. Showtime might have guaranteed him a lot of money and that is why they are charging so much but this could backfire and cause people to look for pirate streams.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 21, 2021, 02:31:02 AM
It won't have much of an effect. The links are only there so the streamer can make a few extra dollars. The casino is still getting the publicity they paid for. The name of the casino will still be mentioned in the stream so people will still know where they need to go.

There are also some simple workarounds like linking to your twitter and then promoting your affiliate link on there.
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is EOS dead? on: August 21, 2021, 01:52:23 AM
WAX is a fork of EOS and is the most popular blockchain for NFTs. The technology behind EOS is good. One of the problems with EOS was the high cost of RAM made it really expensive for developers to launch a dapp. It was also incredibly centralized and we saw arbitrators reverse confirmed transactions. For something like NFTs an EOS-based chain is fine but for other use cases it is important to have decentralization.
1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: August 21, 2021, 12:06:32 AM
The fight is back on. My opinion has still not changed. Canelo is many levels above Caleb Plant and I see him winning comfortably. This would be a historic win for Canelo because he would become the first undisputed champion from Mexico.

Yeah ikr, it will affect the marketcap of the token but the fully diluted marketcap stays the same and also it is not locked forever. Its prety much just misconception of the wording that I used

They are not permanently removed from circulation like when you send tokens to a burn address. I believe CoinMarketCap would still consider those tokens to still be in circulation and part of the market cap.

1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: I started a porn site that pays you in Bitcoin. on: August 19, 2021, 06:28:57 PM
--snip--

I've heard that at Doge's last ATH. But one may be able to convert/exchange to another coin of preference before withdrawing.
The point was to use a way to show the users they are earning something, anything more than 0. And the more expensive coins are not suitable for that.

At a second thought, another direction could be to show more (10? 12? 15?) digits after the decimal point for a "cheaper to withdraw" coin.

Well, as an addendum to my test:  a while after "watching" a couple of video's on my phone (in reality, i just pushed "play" on 4 or 5 video's and let them play while i was working on my laptop in the meantime) i received a mail from the site that i got an incoming "transaction".
Now, i know those payouts probably aren't all that high, but i still was disspointed with 20 satoshi's (that is, BCH satoshi's, at an exchange rate of ~540€/BCH)... I mean, that's an equivalent of 0.00011€, and those video's played for at least 40 minutes... So you'd have to watch about 50.000 video's to reach 1€.

I still think it's a good idear the OP has, but at the moment i don't think i'll be a regular visitor, the amount of video's on the site is lower than the amount of video's that i'd need to watch to scrape together 1€.

Anyways, @OP: good luck with your project.

That's much worse than a faucet. Freebitco.in pays about 4 sats per claim but the price of BTC is 71x higher than BCH and they also have other ways of getting free BTC like the wheel of fortune, interest on your balance, and the premium program.

Even if Pornhash had better payouts they would be plagued by the same issues that have killed most faucets, like people abusing them by using bots and creating multiple accounts.
1228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Foundation Returns After 6-Year Hiatus with Vitalik as advisor on: August 19, 2021, 07:38:31 AM
Having a foundation in charge of a cryptocurrency is a huge point of centralization. It undermines a lot of what crypto is supposed to represent. I am sure they will still refer to it as the people's coin but all this marketing is just smoke and mirrors. Dogecoin cannot be permissionless with gatekeepers like Elon and Vitalik. I can imagine Vitalik trying to move Doge away from being focused on payments and wanting to turn it into a world computer.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: August 19, 2021, 04:45:49 AM

Big changes because Inoue can't just let this go as he is already heavily disrespected, showing dirty finger in the live television, that is very disrespectful as the fans of Inoue had already seen it. They were disrespected and they are pushing Inoue to fight, that's the reason why Inoue wants this to finish once in for all.
The boxing community wants this fight to happen instead of the Inoue fight, talks of Inoue and Donaire rematch only surface because Donaire wins another title in a very impressive way, but there will be no changes in the fight because Inoue wins by unanimous and he dominates Donaire, the boxing fans wants the Casimero fight to push through, so we'll know once and for all who is the real king of that division.

We already know that Inoue is the king of the division regardless of what other fighters might be holding a belt, just like we know Canelo is king of super middleweight. It is Casimero and Donaire who are trying to dethrone him. It is going to be a tough task. Casimero did not look impressive in his last fight. Against a younger, faster, and more powerful fighter in Inoue the odds are stacked against him.
1230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggest Me some altcoins which could be 40x to 50x within next 4/5 years. on: August 19, 2021, 04:12:32 AM
I suggest Polygon (MATIC)

As you can see the adoption Matic mainnet right now is really on-going, recently "Binance" just supported deposit and withdraw with Polygon mainnet. However, IMO with the price of matic just around 1$ the potential to become like "BSC" is really good. NFT Project more often using polygon rather than ETH/BSC right now.

If the price of Matic went up 50x then fees would go up exponentially, making them more expensive than BSC. It is possible that they might have implemented different scaling solutions within 5 years so there is still a possibility. Being a top 20 coin it's price will be more dependent on BTC and ETH. If BTC goes up 20x, Matic could go up 30-50x.

With only 1,000 BFG tokens you will only get a few dollars in each coin after 1 year. There's not much you can do with a few dollars in BTT or TRX. Consolidating all your coins into a single currency would be a real pain in the ass because you would lose a lot in withdrawal fees from exchanges.

The APR from staking might go down and the price of BFG could go up making farming a potentially better option. It is not easily predictable which option will give you better returns. For me it is more about the tradeoffs than the amount of time it would take to recover the initial investment. Personally, I've traded my BFG for BSW and put it in the auto-compound launchpool on Biswap, which still has over 400% APY and the price has also been pumping recently.

Based on what you say and according to your experience, do you think it is much more profitable to swap from BFG to BSW? I have been keeping my tokens on the platform by staking, there are not many tokens that I have but if I want to know according to what others have done, which is the best option? Of course I have been looking at the BFG chart, its volume and everything, but more information is still missing, it must be because the token has been on the market for a short time.

BSW looks more bullish to me. It is the native token of an exchange with $645 million in TVL. There will always be demand for the token regardless of how the market is doing. Biswap was also named by Binance one of the most valuable builders on BSC. I do not see a casino growing faster than a popular DEX. I also think it will be harder to get BFG listed on big exchanges because it is a gambling token and also pays dividends.
1232  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|🔥NEW game CRYPTOS release 🔥 |⚡️Free BTC+BNB| 📈HotBit listing on: August 18, 2021, 12:50:26 AM

Are you going to put the 1k BFG tokens to farming or staking?
Because for staking, you can get the approximate payouts from their site, you just need to calculate at 1k tokens.
But for farming, this one is quite difficult as the APR changes from time to time, so you can't get good estimates here.
Also their farming has only certain number of blocks to be finished. So you don't know if you can get the dividends that you want after the round is finished.
At the end of the day, you will be the one who will decide where to put your tokens, in staking or farming?

I would put it in staking. Just did some calculations, based on the current values. Buying 1000 BFG tokens would cost 33$. Made some assumptions: all staking values would remain the same and I calculated with 2 possible crypto prices (one low and one high). Based on this, it would take 10 months (in a bull market) before you would break even.
Any thoughts on this?

1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 18, 2021, 12:29:50 AM
WTF, didn't even know the fight had been called off. Error Spence sure is injury prone, jesus.

We all know that Pacman will roll through Yordenis, he's not even a top contender.

If he's not fighting a top 10 guy, then he's obviously going to blow through his opponent. To be honest, the fans that bought tickets should get a full refund... They probably paid big bucks to see a fight that could have been legendary, and now they're left with this dud?

Spence needs to be more careful, it's getting annoying with how often he's injured now.
Injuries cant really be avoided but this one raises up questions about Spence current eye injury.
https://www.spin.ph/boxing/boxing-fans-puzzled-on-whether-its-spence-s-left-or-right-eye-that-is-injured-a793-20210813

Is it really true that he's trying to duck the said fight?

The instagram photo is clearly just a mirror image. You can tell by the scar tissue above his eyebrow which is supposed to be above the right side of his head. That means if the patch is on the opposite side then it is his left eye that is injured. You can also see the Adidas logo on his shoulder is reversed in the Instagram photo.
1234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your first choice of a bitcoin wallet? on: August 17, 2021, 02:54:18 AM
I've switched mainly between Wasabi Wallet and Electrum. Wasabi can be great for privacy but it is missing features that I use a lot like pay-to-many. If there was a wallet that combined the best features from each of these wallets then it would be the perfect choice.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Speedup Transaction on: August 17, 2021, 02:24:57 AM
When you speed up a transaction it is like double spending bitcoin. Your wallet will submit a new transaction with the same nonce as the previous transaction but with a higher gas price. It is only possible for one of these transactions to get confirmed. The unconfirmed transaction will be forgotten and eliminated from the mempool.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin prolly gets to 100k dollars, will it still remain a legal tender? on: August 17, 2021, 12:47:37 AM
There is only one country where bitcoin is legal tender. The price will not cause them to revoke it's status. Maybe another administration will come in and repeal the law because they're not a fan of bitcoin, but they will use some excuse about it being used by criminals or something like that.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: August 15, 2021, 05:40:25 PM

i think people enjoyed their fight. i wouldn't be surprised if there will be another. a rematch will be fun.
if they are making money out of this match and they like the sport, there is no stopping. Rigo i think enjoyed this one too. there is nothing for casimero to do as well but to fight whoever is there available if inoue and donaire won't fight him.

congrats to Casimero!

Literally not a single person enjoyed this fight. A rematch is not necessary because nobody wants to see Rigondeaux fight again. He will stink up the place again. Bantamweight is still a loaded division and there will be other interesting opponents for Casimero.
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: August 15, 2021, 06:54:27 AM
This is not the kind of performance that increases Casimero's value as a fighter. He arguably should have lost the fight. I don't think Inoue will be next. Inoue will fight on New Year's Day in Japan and Donaire seems to be the preferred opponent. Casimero will have to look impressive in his next fight for him to be considered for Inoue.

Poly Network Suffers Record-Breaking $600.3 Million Hack
Interoperability protocol Poly Network has suffered an exploit today. The attacker has made off with at least $600.3 million in stolen funds.

"We are sorry to announce that #PolyNetwork was attacked on @BinanceChain @ethereum and @0xPolygon," the developers also stated in Poly Network's Telegram channel. "We call on miners of affected blockchain and crypto exchanges to blacklist tokens coming from the above addresses."

According to the announcement, there are currently three known addresses that allegedly belong to attackers: Ethereum (which currently holds $264.8 million worth of crypto), Binance Smart Chain ($250.8 million), and Polygon ($85 million).

As such, this is the largest cryptocurrency hack so far. The previous record was held by exchange Coincheck which lost about $530 million to hackers in January 2018.

Sos: https://decrypt.co/78163/polynetwork-suffers-record-breaking-600-3m-hack

Poly Network is a dapp that works on multiple blockchains. This is not the Polygon Network that was hacked, just a service with a confusingly similar name.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Moloney vs Franco III: Ordered by WBA (No date yet) on: August 15, 2021, 05:00:31 AM
There was no controversy this time around. Franco was the clear winner. He made the adjustments he needed to make and won the decision. This would've been a great fight to bet on the underdog. People were going off the impression of the second fight where Franco did not look so good because of the eye injury but when he was in good shape in the first fight it was very close.
