401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kobayashi and his malicious sellout 400 million USD on: March 13, 2018, 06:28:22 AM
- Snip -

I agree that the Mt Gox trustee dumping coins on exchanges is the primary reason for the fall in price. I would attribute it to sheer incompetence on the part of the trustee and not some international conspiracy. If the US wanted to keep the price of Bitcoin down to spite North Korea, they have many more avenues to do so. Rumours about an announcement of impending rule tightening would do the trick. They don't have to lean on the Mt Gox trustee to dump coins and bring down the price.

A nice win for India against Srilanka.India won the match by 6 wickets. The bowling of Indian bowlers was so good.Thakur tooked 4 wickets. The batting performance  of India was good.Manish Pandey scored 42 and Karthik scored 39 in that match.
Srilanka did not bowled well. The batting performance was not so good by them.India tooked some early wickets and got the match for them.

It was a good comeback by the Indian bowlers, after Sri Lanka looked set to score over 200 at one stage. Sri Lanka were 94/2 at the end of 10 overs and would have been disappointed to set a target of only 153. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur applied the brakes on Sri Lanka, with Thakur picking up a handful of wickets. A target of 153 was never going to challenge India, and Suresh Raina ensured that a few quick wickets at the start of India's innings didn't affect the end result.
403  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-12] Former Indian Economic Official Says Bitcoin Hard to Regulate on: March 13, 2018, 05:20:45 AM
India’s former Secretary of Economic Affairs, Shaktikanta Das, says Bitcoin would be too difficult to regulate. Instead, to prevent the host of oft-mentioned potential problems such as terrorist financing and money laundering, Bitcoin should simply be banned, says Das. These comments come at a time when India is grappling with the challenges of regulating a decentralized, pseudonymous, virtual currency.

The full article: https://cryptocomes.com/former-indian-economic-official-says-bitcoin-hard-regulate-should-just-ban-entirely

It is a simplistic approach and the easiest way for a government to be seen as 'doing something'. You must note that 2 years ago the Indian government through a process of demonetization, made most of the fiat currency notes worthless overnight. This is precisely one reason why people may trust decentralized currencies like Bitcoin over fiat. The government will find it tough to crack down on Bitcoin given the presence of overseas exchanges and a tech-savvy, young population.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 12, 2018, 06:33:22 AM
A lead of 150+ will be a tricky score to chase down, so  South Africa should be careful here they should not let Australian tail-enders to score more runs. Australian top order not scoring runs that is the worrying signs for them. Steven Smith failure is a big concern for them. South Africa made a good come back after losing the first test match.

Australia have lost 5 wickets and are effectively only 41 runs ahead. South Africa will be banking on their bowlers to polish off the tail without giving too many additional runs. Even if Australia set South Africa a target in excess of 150, I don't think South Africa will face too many difficulties in overcoming it. When the Australian top order has folded cheaply, you can't expect the tailenders to come in and score runs.
405  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-11]Finnish Crypto Exchange Risks Collapse As Banks Refuse To Do Busines on: March 12, 2018, 06:11:32 AM
Banks seem to be hiding behind the Anti-Money Laundering  rules in place in the EU, whenever they decide to close the cryptocurrency accounts of exchanges. But it does seem strange that in some countries, exchanges seem to be flourishing while in others banks are acting against them. Finnish banks are shutting accounts, while in Luxembourg, Bitstamp is a registered exchange. In today's globalized world, customers will just move to an exchange abroad.
406  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-11] New Legislation Prevents Crypto Retirement Funds While Legalizing on: March 11, 2018, 11:37:05 AM
If the trustees of a retirement fund cannot be trusted to manage the funds optimally, they shouldn't be in the job. I doubt if any trustee is going to gamble with retirement funds and put a substantial portion into cryptos. If anything, they would allocate a minuscule portion into Bitcoin, to get that added return. Even if Bitcoin does crash, it won't hurt the fund. The government should not be trying to micromanage how trustees do their job.
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: March 11, 2018, 11:30:12 AM
I never thought we'd see this price range for bitbay again.  Especially on the cusp of new GUI release and with rolling peg around the corner.  Hard times in the crypto sphere but now is a good entry point imo.  I can't see bay being worth 5 cents in the long run.

Well, you have to put things in perspective. Bay was worth 2c around 1.5 years back and 0.2c around 2 years back. So we definitely have come a long way. When you compare Bitbay to its peers, you do get the feeling that it is undervalued. Coins with no real development and which have raised money through ICOs are valued ahead of Bitbay. So I think the price will correct eventually and Bitbay will again be back in the list of top 100 coins.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 11, 2018, 09:53:22 AM
With 3 days remaining and South Africa nearing it's inning, I'd say the game is going to have a result but it's too early to predict which side. With just three wickets in hand and 20 runs lead, SA are not in any better position than australia.

South Africa had only 3 wickets in hand at the end of day 2, but one of those wickets was AB DeVilliers. As we had seen the South Africans played really slowly on day 2, except DeVilliers. DeVilliers has now scored 125 and the lead has extended to 138 (and is still not done). South Africa has the upper hand and can push for victory now.
409  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-11] Tim Draper: Only Crypto Will Be Used For Payments in 5 Years on: March 11, 2018, 07:53:07 AM
This is a bit of an extreme view. As long as there are governments around, which have powerful militaries, fiat currencies are here to stay. You may argue that the concept of a nation-state is a new one and that three hundred years ago there were no nations - only kingdoms whose boundaries kept changing. But you would need a revolution to change that.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 10, 2018, 08:11:46 AM
5th ODI the deciding match England won by 7 wickets. with this win, England won the series by 3-2. This becomes one side match New Zealand got all out for just 223 runs and England chased this target in just 32 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. a super fast century from Jonny Bairstow he made 104 runs in just 60 balls amazing batting. Congrats England.

England had an easy victory and Jonny Bairstow made an amazing century, the third fastest for England. However, the match was in the bag long before that due to the fine performance of the English bowlers. They had New Zealand on the back foot right from the word go and had reduced them to 93/6 at one stage. New Zealand recovered somewhat but could only post a below-par score of 223.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: March 10, 2018, 07:56:55 AM
I read this thread from time to time... and it is always the same. People doesn't get that Byteball is not about price, value or anything except an experiment in testing what would happen if all (previously assumed) good crypto market practices (such as decentralization and trust) were blatantly ignored. As such, it is doing a great job in testing and confirming they were in fact the way to go.

True. The only saving grace is that there are a lot of bag holders, who think that it cannot get worse from now onwards. Unfortunately, Byteball's price keeps dropping and it does keep getting worse. If this continues, it won't be long before Byteball drops from the top 100. When that happens, you can be sure that anybody who is new to crypto will not give it a second look.
412  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-10] Credit Card Aims to Pay Users 1% Crypto Back Rewards on: March 10, 2018, 07:19:00 AM
This might be a very good business idea, but it would be interesting to see how they aim to get merchants to sign up for this. Would they be using existing payment processors like Visa / Mastercard. If they don't, then they will have to convince merchants to install a new PoS machine. It is not easy to break into such markets, because merchants will be reluctant to add yet another machine.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 09, 2018, 07:00:52 AM
Another lose for Bangladesh against India.India defeated them by 6 wickets.Bangladesh scored just 139 on 29overs which is 25-30 runs short.S Dhawan made a sensible fifty and awarded MOM.Bangladesh need to win in second match against SL to keep alive on this series.I hope Bangladesh will.come back strongly in next match.

In today's T20 matches, 140 is a below par target, irrespective of the nature of the pitch. Bangladesh's batting really let them do, as they would have been trying to set a score of at least 170-180. Except Sabbir Rahman who tried to accelerate at the end, none of the batsmen showed any sense of urgency. India got there easily, led by Shikhar Dhawan's fifty. Bangladesh would need to try hard against Sri Lanka.
414  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-08] Binance CEO: All Irregular Trades Reversed, Hackers Lost Coins on: March 09, 2018, 06:56:29 AM
It is fortuitous that the hackers were not successful in their attempts to get their funds out quickly. I wonder how Binance's move of seizing the hacker's funds would stand scrutiny. After all, there is a contract in place between Binance and their users - I doubt if it allows Binance to seize all your funds if its terms and conditions are not followed.
They have reversed all fraudulent transactions in this case. Would they have done the same if it involved the exchange losing money?
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto investors are dumb and Greedy?? on: March 08, 2018, 06:55:39 AM
I have seen recent some fudds and market reaction . Even normal FUD or Fake news also makingHuge Bearish trend in Marketcap . Recent South Korea , India Regulation Fud complete fake news made lots of  impact so that market reached 700 Billion to 500 Billion. Yesterdays Binance Fud (Fake News)again Reduced 100 Billion . Whats happening everyone are becoming too greedy so that they cant even check for actual fact .

The market is definitely volatile and investors expect substantially higher returns compared to other asset classes. That is natural, because higher risk investments are expected to give high returns. I wouldn't call them greedy for that. They are just investors, with high risk appetite. There are others who try to gamble in the crypto markets and buy/sell on the latest fud and positive news articles. You cannot really attribute rationality to their behaviour.
416  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-07] Dark Side of the Coins: Cryptocurrencies on the Darknet on: March 08, 2018, 06:28:38 AM
According to Australian studies, 47% of all bitcoin transactions happen on the darknet. And, of course, involve criminal activity.

Cryptocurrency is ideal for illegal operations, providing the necessary level of anonymity. Tracking a wallet’s owner is extremely difficult, despite the fact that in the blockchain everything is transparent and open. Such a paradox. Basically, cryptocurrencies give carte blanche to the outlawed.

This kind of FUD has been around since the days of the Silk Road - when people thought Bitcoin was a currency only used to purchase drugs. That perception has changed but once in a while articles like this do come. Criminals, like all other people, look for the utility value of different technologies. They recognize the potential and value of cryptocurrencies and use it as a medium of exchange. Nobody is talking about shutting down the internet just because some illegal activities take place there.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: March 07, 2018, 11:01:48 PM
That is equivalent to just burning the undistributed Bytes. Waiting to see if the methods proposed by Tony to actually bring in new users will be prudent. By and large, the method of distributing Bytes to those who link their real world ids seems to have failed. That doesn't mean that the other proposed methods are not worth trying out.

The ID verification system JUST started. It is by no means a failure yet.

Airdrop is not quite the same as burn. An airdrop seems more likely to crash the price, but cause a wider distribution.

An airdrop across Bitcoin and Byteball holders (as was done previously) is not the same as a burn. But Saxnot's idea was an airdrop of Bytes to the existing Byte holders. This would do nothing to widen the distribution and is similar to a burn. The only advantage could be psychological - liquidity could increase as Byte holders consider these as free dividends and might be more likely to sell them.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If ICOs are securities on: March 07, 2018, 10:45:51 PM
Can someone break down what it means to the average investor if the SEC declares all ICOS and most altcoins securities? Will it only affect US citizens? What does it mean for the coins I bought in ICO and have sitting in my wallet?

If an ICO token constitutes a security, then the ICO must have followed onerous securities registration procedures to be completely on board. Else, the ICO could constitute an illegal securities offering and the promoters could face the music. If the promoters / developers of a coin face action from the US government, then you can predict what will happen to the market price of the security. In the best case, the SEC may ask the promoters to refund initial investors.

New Zealand vs England 4th ODI high score match finally NZ won this match by 5 wickets. This match was full of entertainment England bat 1st and made a big score 335 runs with the loss of 9 wickets Root and  Bairstow both made a century in this match. NZ successfully reached the target with the loss of 5 wickets. Ross Taylor 181 runs not out excellent batting with this win NZ made this series equal 2-2. the final match will decide who is the winner of this series.
Unbelievable come back from New Zealand after losing 2 wickets for just runs chasing a mammoth total of 339. Ross Taylor innings of his life and well supported by Tom Latham. We witnessed one of the great match and come back from NZ. Now series is at the climax winner of 5th odi will win the series.

In spite of Ross Taylor's mammoth effort of 181, the match went to the very last over. 335 is a good score, but not an insurmountable score in today's ODIs. Teams score 300 with ease and 335 just stretched New Zealand a little more. They would have felt nervous after losing 2 early wickets, but Ross Talyor's knock was magnificent. Took away the sheen from England's innings, where both Bairstow and Root scored centuries.

$20 for an registration with my personal ID, I think it is to cheap. $200 are better, this are our personal information and they are valuable. $20 is a joke in my opinion.

I would not sold my personality even for $2000. Looks like Byteball is launching a hunt for schoolboys .

That's the hard part for a good distribution model.
The initial plan is to involve more people in, but try the best to avoid the cheaters by IDs.
But in the crypto world, few peoples would like to "sell" their IDs for only $20. At least, not me.
I would not either. But there are such poor countries who are ready to do this without any doubts and regrets

yeah, but without any doubts and regrets they will dump at once and  just pretty much screw the whole thing up.

What would be other ways we could distribute this? Referral fees for both new joiner and the referrer works well (See this in both Crypto and real world with Uber) but can we stop this getting abused and only apply to genuine users? minimum time period before funds can be sold or a number of transactions to take place prior to funds being released?
Airdrop only to Byteball-users up to 100% or 99% and just let the free market work. bitcoin works in the same way, buy a miner and grab your rewards, that's it. here is no PoW or PoS so Airdrop for all byteball users and go.
