481  Economy / Services / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDare.com - Users dare you to make videos for BTC on: February 28, 2017, 08:21:44 PM
This is a pretty unique and cool concept. I'll definitely be following it. And while some will argue that the videos don't pay much atm, I think they pay more than they have to -- people do this stuff for fun. Like the high five 30 people in 30 seconds -- $6.50 for a quick little run. I like it, Smiley.
482  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking website which sell amazon.com gift cards on: February 28, 2017, 08:04:18 PM
Hello,

I wonder if anyone knows where to buy amazon.com gift cards since i've tried many website, but i couldn't because various reason such as :
http://www.gyft.com/ only accept customer from US
http://www.egifter.com/ now only accept bitcoin payment with coinbase wallet
https://yestobitcoins.com/ don't sell amazon gift cards because newest amazon terms and condition
http://bitcart.io/ now become scam Sad
OR they only sell non amazon.com gift cards instead Sad

I've also tried http://purse.io/, but i'm disappointed with their services and bad customer support. I've checked Marketplace section as well, but most users have negative trust, never make transaction or have low ranks/inactive members.
Your best bet is going to Localbitcoins and find a reputable gift card trader there. There are many very reputable guys who buy for 60% or 70% and resell them for 70-80%. I have never encountered any other method for buying amazon giftcards with bitcoin, that I would trust as much as Localbitcoins. Good luck!

This is still risky. There are people that rack up tons of great reviews and then go rogue (steal) using their reputation or sell their account on various sites so others can steal. You never know who you're actually dealing with.
483  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hosting companies that accept Bitcoin? on: February 28, 2017, 06:10:29 AM
I've used "steadyturtle" in the past and never had any security issues with them so I would recommend them (their not the cheapest out there but very reliable).
Website: https://www.steadyturtle.com/
Link on this forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=972575.0

You should move this thread to "Service Discussion section" instead.

Seconded, I've used SteadyTurtle for over a year and a half and they've provided very good customer support and more.

Do you have a highly trafficked site? One thing I worry about in regards to their cost is how much they oversell... most oversell to the point where if you aren't getting just a handful of visits, you have issues.
484  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] MoneyBadger - Send Bitcoin via Email/SMS, no login required! on: February 28, 2017, 06:09:04 AM
Pretty cool idea, except it brings about a huge concern. A lot of people don't want their BTC addresses linked to their phone/email -- it takes away from its anonymity.

The other part is... what if someone never claims theirs? Does it get returned to the sender after a certain period?
485  Economy / Services / Re: Tired of mining bitcoin- try growing marijuana fr bitcoin on: February 28, 2017, 06:07:02 AM
It's quickly becoming legal in the U.S. Most states now allow it in some form and the list is growing. The question is... where are you locating this business? What's backing it? How do we know you won't run? We need a business plan.
486  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: USA Dedicated Servers on: February 26, 2017, 02:46:54 AM
OP fixed my server and now it is really blazing fast. Everything he said in the ad is real and great. Now the only thing missing is a test whether these will last a year or the length of the subscription.  Though, just be mindful that there is a possibility that there could be problems, but seems that OP and tech support will be there to help you out. Thanks OP for letting me try it out, even just for a day. Smiley

Was there any information given on why there were issues with the first one? This is a bit questionable. Especially if servers are all supposed to be in the U.S. and your first wasn't.
487  Economy / Services / Re: Adalso.com : We Lower Advertising Prices (0.000 02 CPC) on: February 26, 2017, 02:45:04 AM
How much would you get for 1000 impressions?

we have low cpm prices, you can try it and see results.

Can you guarantee that all clicks are legitimate users and not bots/other fraudulent traffic?
488  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have you heard of CoinRebates? on: February 26, 2017, 02:43:54 AM
Would it be possible for you to support Amazon? I often buy things off of Amazon and it would be nice to get this kind of rebate for doing so.

Unfortunately, Amazon is unwilling to work with rewards programs like ours at the moment.

Would it not be possible to affiliate yourself, and then pay out based on what you earn from that? Like if someone buys something through your link and you get $5, you split it with the user.
489  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] HaoBTC, mining dividend paid out hourly on: February 25, 2017, 04:34:41 AM
to have more information about the service, have some one made the calculus of how long for the return of the investment?

Not sure if this is a spam post or not, but to be nice:

interestRate/365*deposit=interestPerDay
ROI = amountYouWant/interestPerDay

Plug in your own values here.

If you want to know what you have to deposit to get x per day:

InterestRate/365*x=AmountYouWant
(Plug into WolframAlpha)

It's kind of funny to me... I warn people that this is a bad investment *BEFORE THE ICO* and get bashed for it. Now the same people are crying because they feel like they got ripped off. Seriously? I told you. I even explained WHY it was a bad investment. I can't even feel bad for anyone who threw money into it at this point because the signs were so clear and obvious.

To me your post looks really funny. You advised people not to invest in this ICO, and you think that was a good advise?  Shocked
You better check things out before posting: this ICO was one of the most successful investments of last year. ICO investors have made from 5x to 20x on their investment, and even now, after all the craziness and dumps, the coin trades at 3x-4x the ICO price!

Do you still think was advice was good?

"My friend put $100 into a known Ponzi and got back $200 before the owner ran and everyone lost. But that was a good investment. I mean, I made 100% ROI so that's good, right?"

That's how I read your post.

Just because you profit off of people stupider than you doesn't make something a good investment. It's like saying going all-in with 2/8 OS in poker is a good move because "one time I won!" No. Statistically you're screwing yourself.

I see your point. But things are not that simple.

Practically 100% of crypto projects are going to be abandoned at some [random] points in not so far future. Thats because technology is evolving, new things arise, and old ones are forgotten. Some projects deliver more before being abandoned, some deliver less. Vidz has delivered something, and that *something* is even going to be used now by another project(even two).

Calling Vidz "ponzi", while backing other crypto projects with tradeable assets, sounds hypocritical to me. They all are ponzi, to some extent. But those are "ponzi" with some good output, not only gambling. So Vidz were - it helped to develop some tech, inspired new projects, and helped to identify new possibilities for development. Thats all any good project could dream to achieve.

The only point which makes Vidz stand out, is everything happened much faster than with most other crypto projects, both good things, and bad ones. Still, the story is not over.

FWIW, I never said that PV, as a project, is bad. In fact, even when I said it was a horrible investment, I noted that the idea and concept behind the technology was awesome (and is why I still follow it to this day). The issue is their business model was going to be an absolute failure. Whether the creator ran or not, you were not going to ROI. It wasn't just improbable, it was nearly impossible. A good investment requires a greater chance of successfully returning ROI than not. This wasn't going to match that.

People bidding up the price on the coins was exactly what a Ponzi would do. There was nothing backing it. The business wasn't profitable, it had no way of really returning enough capital to MAKE it profitable, and therefore the only thing propping up prices was hoping someone was stupid enough to buy it for more than you did. Protip: that's exactly what a Ponzi does and how it works. You're paid by people putting money in after you, in a system that can't possibly exist in a profitable manner.

It's the same concept in the fiat world. You don't invest your money because something looks cool, you do it because their business model makes sense, you have faith that they will earn a profit, and you're banking on their success. If you just throw your money at everyone who says "I have a cool idea" but no business sense, you're going to go broke quickly.

492  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud (VPS, VDS, Dedicated) companies that accept Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2017, 02:19:34 AM
I want to point out that based on my findings so far, any hosts that accept crypto are actually going to be (oddly) more expensive than fiat ones. You can save a lot by just paying with a credit card. It's weird, though, because it'd make sense for them to be CHEAPER if they accept crypto since their costs are lowered.

I'd probably be thinking the stuff behind this is that the people who run the crypto only hosting companies are the ones that know that they're going to be going into a niche market (Bitcoin hosting company) and they know that people will pay a bit more to pay with BTC based on the fact that they don't have a credit card or don't want to use one online.

Weird, but that's how free market capitalism works.

Interesting way to look at it, and that does make sense. I'd love for a competitive one to pop up that accepts BTC as well. Love my current host (cheap, effective, and the staff is knowledgeable) but can't get them to take BTC.

Yobit has more exchange volume than Bittrex and they only charge 0.1 to add a coin.

I'd stay away from YoBit as well. They have broken wallets where devs have contacted them for weeks/months, never responding and leaving the system broken. They could be a good site if they would do one thing: actually respond to support requests when stuff is broke. I still have a support request about an account bug that's been pending for almost 8 months now (and a few pings sent months after with no response).

I want to add that Cloudflare personally sent out emails to all affected parties, as well as those that were unaffected. Here's an excerpt from the email sent to MP:

"In our review of these third party caches, we discovered exposed data on approximately 150 of Cloudflare's customers across our Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. We have reached out to these customers directly to provide them with a copy of the data that was exposed, help them understand its impact, and help them mitigate that impact.

Your domain is not one of the domains where we have discovered exposed data in any third party caches. The bug has been patched so it is no longer leaking data. However, we continue to work with these caches to review their records and help them purge any exposed data we find. If we discover any data leaked about your domains during this search, we will reach out to you directly and provide you full details of what we have found."

hi I bought a few thousands of rbies but now my wallet is out of sych for a long time. All of the download links are broken. What shall I do now? How can I convert it to R2B2?

What version is the client you currently have? 1.2.0.2 is the latest and should have no issues syncing.

Sorry to contradict yourself, or maybe it's just a typo, but latest is 1.2.2.0

Interesting. Thanks for the clarification. I'm apparently using an older one then (with no issues). Just checked and mine is def. 1.2.0.2. I apologize for the misinformation.

stupid fee and they let bitfinex give away tens of thousands of bitcoins. anyone can do way, way better than this for themselves.

Is this fact? I did see another post claiming the same thing, but wouldn't that essentially also put them at fault for the Bitfinex "hack" (if they were supposed to stop the tx and didn't)?

So the real question is how to reward those donators?

I could set up a Hall of Fame section on http://cryptodatabase.net/hyper that would list those who contribute towards the promotion of HYPER in some form, either by donating or by providing a service.

Example,

Supporter           Supported          Amount       BtcTalk Profile
CryptoDatabase   Electrum Wallet    0.1 BTC        Profile link
CrazyJack           Electrum Wallet    0.1 BTC        Profile link
BitcoinPRBuzz      News Articles       N/A             Profile link
etc, etc

May help to offer a backlink to a site of their choice as well, for a business benefit. That in itself helps give return for donating.
