1441  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: All Answers 4 Faucet Makers on: May 18, 2016, 07:19:55 AM
While I would normally say faucet info is useless... this is immensely helpful to those that want to get involved. And even better is the fact that a lot of this is entirely relevant for non-faucet crypto sites as well. Huge +1 for this.

you should try to direct msg Xypher on discord.  If nothing else bring it up during the sunday meeting.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm new to Discord but joined and tossed him a PM, Smiley.

Anyone alse got problems with their steam code not working?

Yeah, mine gives errors as well. I sent an email a week or so ago but still haven't heard back, =/.

coughfudcough

I'll just leave this here. My reputation speaks for itself. FUD gets you nowhere; feedback does. All I want is an issue resolved. Simple. No more, no less. I didn't even put down GBT in regards to this, so I don't get where the "FUD" claim even stems from. I was simply sharing an observation based on my personal experience.

1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RAWX altcoin exchange (former mcxNOW) to reopen soon | see a preview here on: May 17, 2016, 08:07:16 AM
And with all of that, on to the RAWX topic. @Enlightened, are current FEE holders going to be invited to the closed beta?

Yes, all FEE holders qualify to take part in the closed beta.

Awesome to hear. Looking forward to seeing it in action! Can you also shed some light on how the FEEs will work? Like will it be the same as before, paying the appropriate portion of ALL coins every 6h, or how is it being changed?

mcxNOW did not shut down with a good reputation contrary to your claims.
it left a sour taste in many mouths..
Mind to elaborate?

You really don't know?  Or are you just pretending not to know?

RS was very rarely present in the final months, when DOGE was due to fork from v1.7 to v1.8 he was warned multiple times of upcoming fork in chat and chose to ignore it.  He then went AWOL for 2 weeks.

In this period, DOGE forked, this allowed users to mine the v1.7 at next to no difficulty and transfer them all to mcxNOW to dump on unsuspecting noobs who though it was real DOGE and people with bots running.

Even better, an epic fuck up with the way the fork was done meant you could actually withdraw DOGE on the v1.8, whilst depositing to credit your balance with v1.7's.

It was a spectacular shitstorm and after it unfolded RS threw his toys out of the cot and shut down.  Technically mcxNOW was indeed hacked IMO.

How do I know all this...well I mined some v1.7's didn't I.

Do not trust this exchange, stay far far away.

Also I must point out mcxNOW was fast in 2014, but by modern exchange standards it would be nothing special.

To touch on the DOGE situation, I can confirm what you've said is true (at least in terms of the forking happening, and there being ample time prior for it to be updated on his end). "Hacked" isn't the proper word, though... it's more like negligence. And in this case, it was indeed costly. I was lucky in that I wasn't affected by the situation. And I believe this is when he did the haircut, correct? I know a couple users volunteered decent sums to help cover losses, but the entire situation was a pretty dark one (I remember being highly against a haircut, even though it wouldn't affect me, just on the basis of principle).
1446  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟🎲🌟 MoneyPot.com -- Your Trusted Bitcoin Gambling Wallet (Upgraded Speeds!) on: May 17, 2016, 03:14:22 AM
I've noticed some users wait again a couple of hours for confirmations and the situation wont become better at all, blocksize most likely wont be changed next time. Please try to send all wd with high priority, ive seen even transactions without fees sent with high prio tho.

So I guess it would be a good idea to let the users decide themself how much transaction fee they want to send with.

I could think to just let them enter a number or give options with short "hint" like:

0 bits - Transaction will most likely take ~ 6 years to confirm
100 bits - Confirmation may take up to 6 blocks (~ 1 hour)
etc...

Some other sites already changed to 200 bits because this is gonna be the new standart it seems.
I think best would still be to let them completly decide how much they want to add, because everybody has different needs and some want it instant and others dont care when, as long as it arrives at some point.
lol 6 years, don't forget that once a tx is in the mempool for a long amount of time, nodes will forget about it. Then people who are cheap and want to save in the fee with make scam accusations with crap like "my tx never confirmed!!!!!!!!!!!!! they double spent it because I can't find it in the network".
I think custom fees are good, but with a 100 bit minimum.

Honestly those transaction will never confirm. I actually had to make a node forget a transaction because I sent a fee that was like 1/10th the regular fee by accident. Took about 2-3 weeks to get those BTC back.

The client is supposed to reject/return after 48h...
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ◆Rubies◆ [RBIES] Bet-Mining & PoS | Multi-Business backed currency Proof of Use. on: May 16, 2016, 05:53:08 AM
Just a little news, the next game we have coming (this month) is almost entirely skill based and winning is competitive/based on scores. This game is very enjoyable and will be Rubies powered only, BTC will not be accepted for this game. Get your Rubies stacks ready for some fun!

Awesome news! Finally something for more passive gamers (I prefer skill-based since you have input on the outcome). Looking forward to seeing what this is, Smiley.
1448  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: May 16, 2016, 05:51:05 AM
Even loanbase users are starting to default. These p2p services were promising from the start. But its ugly fangs are showing.

+1

It all comes to to collateral. No ability to collect on default loan means no way to get your money back.

Frankly, the lending section in this forum is more reliable than Loanbase and BTCJam combined. What do you think? Cheesy

The problem is those services are supposed to be doing all the background checking and risk analysis. That's why they take fees. Their failure to do so means they're taking fees and providing a sub-par service, at best.

The fiat-based systems are better because their companies actually care. They take a fee and actually do their job. But as long as people continue investing in these sub-par crypto services, they'll continue pushing scams through. People need to quit being stupid.
1449  Economy / Economics / Re: How would you double $100,000 safely? on: May 16, 2016, 05:43:10 AM
Double your $100k in one year? Easy, just buy that amount in bitcoin today. Place in a cold wallet, then check back in a year. It may have even tripled or quadrupled by then. You can thank me later.

Or what if it will drop instead of rising?

I don't think there is any safer way to double your money unless you're willing to take risk on that money.
That's the risk but that would not happen at today's trend. If you invest on a certain project of product you need to believe in it and be optimistic that it will give you profit base on what you projected to happen.

But isn't that still the risky way? When the OP is asking for a safer way? Tongue

You won't find a risk-free way. If you were, nobody would ever take a risk because they'd just take the safe route. Simple deduction.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RAWX altcoin exchange (former mcxNOW) to reopen soon | see a preview here on: May 16, 2016, 05:32:41 AM
I want to start off by saying that the claims RealSolid scammed are, as far as I'm aware, still unfounded. Did he manipulate things on his exchange (like mcxFEEs)? Sure. Did he pump and dump them? Definitely. Is that scamming? Absolutely not. And he gave plenty of time to withdraw coins before taking the site offline (and even allowed more withdrawals AFTER the site was down via IRC).

I'm not here to say "RS is a great dude!" or anything, but the claims of scamming still haven't shown any proof yet. I've followed him since 2013 and while I find his business and marketing sense abysmal at best (he seems to be a very competent programmer, but can't run a business, which is really part of the norm, so I don't fault him), I don't know of any case where he actually stole from anyone.

And with all of that, on to the RAWX topic. @Enlightened, are current FEE holders going to be invited to the closed beta?

1454  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit.com -- The Social Gambling Game (formerly moneypot.com) on: May 13, 2016, 01:55:13 AM
Is that saying that Valve takes a 15% cut of every deposit and withdrawal? If so, I don't see why it's so popular. Who would be willing to pay a 15% fee each way?

I've never played csgo or used steam, so I might be wrong; but I believe this refers only to the official steam market (which gives you money on your steam amount). As I understand it, you can trade and send items for free, which is why 3rd party sites are so popular. So if you avoid the official market, you don't need to pay a commission on transfers (and steam still makes their money by selling items in the first place).

(this is all second hand knowledge from bustabit's chat, so don't fault me if I'm totally wrong)

You got it right. Item trades are free -- commission is only paid to Valve on items that are sold through the "Steam Marketplace" for "Steam Cash." It's also worth noting that you can trade items at any time, without restriction. You can only use "Steam Marketplace" when you have bought something from the shop (using cash/Steam Cash) within the last 12 months.
1455  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟🎲🌟 MoneyPot.com -- Your Trusted Bitcoin Gambling Wallet (Upgraded Speeds!) on: May 13, 2016, 01:37:20 AM
Now over 700 Bitcoin invested.

Also at over 22,000 Bitcoin wagered, ~165 Bitcoin in investor profits, and 185,000,000 bets made.

Smiley

Woo, congrats! Those are some nice numbers Smiley

I'm still kicking myself for pulling out after that big plinko win instead of sticking around...looks like my investment would have recovered very nicely by though. Looks like it might be time to get back on the investment horse Cheesy

Keep in mind that it's up 165 at the moment with a BR of 728. That'd be around 20%. BUT a lot of the increase in profit was at a much lower BR. If you invested at the beginning of the year you'd be up like 50%+ by now I believe.
1456  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchaim deducted $100 fee for $112 transaction on: May 10, 2016, 09:13:53 PM
OP, the transaction was included in a block mined by BTCC pool. Whoever sent the transaction should contact them if he wants the money back.

They sometime refund fat finger mistakes. But in this case, this was the correct fee. He tried to send coins that were just two minutes old, with just one confirmation. Of course the fee will be huge. You need to let your coins age, and only send old coins.

Where did you get that from? That's not true. The fee that is needed additionally because of the age is so small that it never could amount to this fee. Not possible.

It might be possible that he had a huge amount of small inputs. So that the transaction was huge at the end. The bigger the higher the price then.

Uh, the info is right there in the link: 340 (bytes). There were two inputs and one output. He apparently set things up wrong somewhere.

Ah right. Didn't check the actual transaction again. Only spoke about the theoretics how such a fee possibly could come into existence. From coin age not. That is for sure.

Yeah, coin age would be irrelevant. And a fee that big... even with a 1 MB transaction (let's say he filled the entire block) wouldn't be possible. It would be a bit lower than that (something like .21x).
1457  Economy / Services / Re: I will make any site you imagine on: May 10, 2016, 08:28:21 PM
Hey Anon! Are you able to quote about how many hours (total cost) are involved with a project, when given a detailed document of what you're looking for (including comparison sites and the like)?

Hey guys, here with a small update about how things are going - this post will be fairly brief.

Development
We’ve been working on integrating the new UI and are in the process of tweaking it to work with live data, we’re hoping this week that we’ll have some screenshots to show you in regards to this. We are still running on our expected schedule and ideally everything will be ready for June the 1st which is when the first cycle will officially begin.

Marketing
Twitter has been going fairly steady with a growth rate of ~60 new followers every day. If you haven’t already, follow us on twitter as we’ll be doing a giveaway this week! We’re now beginning to work on the Twitch.tv side of things where we will be looking to campaign and increase our growth through popular streamers for CS:GO (as this program grows, so will the games we target on Twitch as well as the number of streamers we support).

Discord
Here is a chat log from last weeks Discord meeting in the future we will look to make this more available in a better format - http://pastebin.com/raw/wAue3iGF - we highly recommend rather than reading the chat log that you instead join our Discord and read it directly on there Wink

Thanks for the support as always, a reminder to those interested the ESL pro league will be ending soon on the 15th so we expect some exciting CS:GO matches as this event comes to a close.

To clarify, while the first cycle begins on June 1st, all bets up to this point are included in shareholder dividends as well, correct? Not just those from June 1st to when the cycle ends?
1460  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS : guide to counting cards on: May 10, 2016, 06:19:07 AM
the target market for this article isn't someone who wants to learn how to count cards.  It is for a webmaster who wants quality content related to gambling for his website.

That makes more sense to me.

FWIW, I've tried counting. I can run tallies that are more detailed than these tricks (i.e., I can memorize how many of each card was put out there). It doesn't help because most casinos (at least that I've been to) use 5-6 decks and reshuffle 1/3 of the way through. There's not enough data that can be gleaned over such a small set. I tried all the methods, from hi-lo to allocating points to each card, to keeping a tally of exactly how many a,2,3, etc. came out and they never helped.
