I own 10,000 + Hyper Coin and have faith in the utility and community of this coin. Therefore I offer to accept Hyper Coin as payment for legal advice and services. Best: George D. Greenberg, Esq. www.attorneybitcoin.com

that's actually quite cool.

It would be, but there's a bit if irony here:

"From misspellings in web sites and contracts to poor construction of contracts..."

The above was on the site as a sign that companies are scams. There are multiple errors just in the writing on his site alone with regards to sentence structure, punctuation, and grammar in general.

I'm not going to go into any more on that... just found it kind of funny, Smiley.
1482  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟🎲🌟 MoneyPot.com -- Your Trusted Bitcoin Gambling Wallet (Upgraded Speeds!) on: April 28, 2016, 12:50:14 AM
It is amazing and pathetic that people put in so much effort to abuse the faucet. With a cool down of 5 minutes and a size of 2 bits, a bot could at most get 576 bits in 24 hours. That amount of bitcoin is worth only $0.26 at today's price, and then he probably has to spend a large portion of it on captcha solving and electricity.

$0.26. Now, if you have 10 accounts, that's $2.60. 100 accounts is $26. 400 accounts is over $100 a day passively. People go through ridiculous amounts of work just to steal under $1 around BCT. Thinking they wouldn't do the same for larger amounts is naive.

E-mail from net-ARB received a few hours ago:
Quote
In just the past few days it has been brought to our attention that BTCjam is distributing counterfeit arbitration awards bearing our name. We regret having to send you this email, but the consequences of trying to enforce a counterfeit arbitration award can be severe, both civilly and criminally. As a former client, it is our duty to inform you.

Any net-ARB arbitration award received from BTCjam is counterfeit (specifically, BTCjam never had a copy of your award). Valid awards come only from net-ARB.

While we are happy to check the validity of your awards if you send us the documents, you can quickly and easily check the validity of all your awards at www.enforcemyarbitrationaward.com, a site run by attorney Kevin Palley. If you provide your BTCjam member number and email address, you can get a complete list of your valid, arbitrated BTCjam loans. The site uses a crowdfunding formula to make enforcement affordable. There is no cost or obligation to sign up.

Best regards,

Email from Btcjam received soon after:
Quote
Hello Valued BTCjam Member,

You may have recently received an email from net-arb stating that BTCjam is issuing counterfeit arbitration awards. Please be assured that this is not true. Unfortunately, two months ago we abruptly discovered that Net-Arb had partnered with enforcemyarbitrationaward.com and began spamming our user base. As a result, BTCjam immediately terminated service with Net-Arb. We apologize for any concern that Net-Arb's announcement caused and cannot stress enough that their claims are false.

Our goal is to provide our members with industry-leading technology and services which is why we’re glad to announce that we will be using a new arbitration award provider The Dhami Law Firm. This transition process will be streamlined for both our investor and borrower members.

All loans whose default date is on or after February 1st, 2016 will be subjected to this change.

Keep in mind that the new arbitration timeline that has been effective since January 27th, 2016 looks like this:
1. Investor receives an email notifying them that the loan will be sent to arbitration in 14-days.
2. Borrower meets 90 days delinquency after first missed payment.
3. The arbitration award is then easily accessible via the investments page on the individual investment of the listing.

Thank you for being a part of the BTCjam community.
We appreciate your continued business.

What does all this crap mean?

This is also being discussed on the official thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=112447

Ha, it means that someone is lying Tongue

What's the latest saga with BTCJam now? Haha. I wasn't following. There will still be new comers who got sucked in Sad

Even if you don't get caught up in the email scams, you are being scammed simply by investing on the site. There's almost zero due diligence done on borrowers, and the default rate (especially of the highest rated people) is ridiculously high.
1484  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Jam is an absolute joke on: April 25, 2016, 07:30:34 AM
Yeah... I'm at +14% on B-rated people and -39% on A-rated. Apparently higher rated people are defaulting more than lower? Really? There's some serious quality control problems going on here.
1485  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best place to invest your bitcoin? on: April 25, 2016, 07:28:21 AM
Any ideas or suggestions?

Stay 100% PERCENT CLEAR of any casinos unless you personally know the guy who runs it and can find him if he tries to steal your money.

Invest in yourself, and just hold it. If you wanna play around with altcoins that's fine. Don't give a thing to some casinos "bankroll" You will lose it overtime in a huge way.

There are many long-term, trusted ones. Stay away from new, unknown ones and you're generally pretty safe, outside of some edge cases that are few and far between. Obviously, the safest is to hold the coins on your own either in a cold wallet (paper) or hardware wallet.

Due to BTC's price rise, this is actually MORE than Newegg's brand new ones: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226596

Including free shipping and they also accept BTC...

May want to alter your price to account for that.

Here this will help you get started: https://www.moneypot.com/api-docs If you have a development team and still need help message us at contact@betterbets.io

I went on the moneypot site but when I went to create app I got an "error, forbidden" also the slack channel link isn't working. I sent you an email to contact@betterbets.io and I hope we can work together.

forbidden to create an app? or did yo do something wrong? maybe MP staff can tell us why it would be forbidden to create an app

Would need an image that shows the exact error. As far as I'm aware, there's no way to even forbid the creation of apps currently.

1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is there any legal way to bet BTC in the USA on: April 22, 2016, 12:40:15 AM
Well consider that if you use Coinbase and if they detect that you deposited funds that came from a gambling site, they are forced to close your account. That is pretty severe.

You shouldn't be storing coins there, regardless. They should go: Coinbase -> your wallet -> whatever you want to send elsewhere. Don't use them as a wallet and you won't have issues.

Either they are just too lazy for another wallet to use..

Or just not educated enough on what can go wrong at exchanges, or not hearing enough horror stories of how a exchange can close up shop.

With coinbase I`m more concerned on the lack of support, so if something does go wrong not getting the right order is will they honor it..

If they're too lazy or uneducated, they shouldn't be messing with it at ALL. Just like anything else, the less you know, the more dangerous you are to yourself. Would you go rip apart your car's engine to try and fix an issue if you don't know the first thing about cars and aren't even looking at a video/guide/manual/etc.? I seriously hope not. And if you wouldn't do that, what makes you think putting your money in the hands of someone else in the hopes that you will get it back a good idea? Seriously, it's not hard to get educated. If people are having their accounts locked down or flat-out lost because of stupidity, that's on them -- nobody else.
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost 1500 mBTC today on: April 21, 2016, 06:19:12 PM
Come get it back on bubblesbit.com Smiley

don't really ask him to go other website to attempt 'winning' back the fund, there is no guarantee that he will get his 'money' back. furthermore who should take the responsibility if he lost fund again from your site, by your encouragement this time?

i have seen someone on one of the site which is www.moneypot.com powered, lost more than 8 bitcoins with dice, within 10 seconds. in a nutshell, your proposal could have ruined his fund for his living.

Yes it is hard to win back what you loss before. But in gambling everything is possible though, but you really need luck to get it back. There is no guarantee in gambling but it is worth to try so if your luck is coming you will sure end if a good profit. And for dice game you really need a good strategy and money management well so that you can get your profit

This is horrible advice. Only risk what you can afford to lose. If you can risk more and it won't cripple you when it's lost, sure, try to get it back. Otherwise, don't try it. What he's already lost (1.5 BTC) should already have just been play money that he wasn't afraid to lose.
1491  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟🎲🌟 MoneyPot.com -- Your Trusted Bitcoin Gambling Wallet (Upgraded Speeds!) on: April 21, 2016, 06:16:54 PM
That's the great thing of not owning a gambling site. I can say anything without looking like a jealous competitor Cheesy

yes thats correct but to be frank I don't care to speak out anything if it is my straight forward opinion even to other gambling site owners. but here I was waiting and very eager to see what MP has to say Smiley

I posted in the thread itself, but i'll post here again for reference.

Nice! Just won 2,000 bits on about 15 spins using your lowest house margins. I love how even though the faucet kinda sucks IMO, I can still deposit .01 or .001 and its 1,000 and 10,000 bets respectively.

Let it be noted though, I have kinda figured out a way to manipulate MoneyPot to get their "randomizer" going in great streaks for my multiplier.
If anyone wants to PM me.

Keep it up!

Although sometimes it feels like there are patterns and streaks, I assure you that our algorithm is random to a degree that you cannot manipulate it or guess it.

Especially if you look at his profile: He's down 16k actually lol:
https://www.moneypot.com/users/grunt

Not to mention his bets are at a very low multiplier (https://www.moneypot.com/bets/128977863) with a 98% chance of winning.
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost 1500 mBTC today on: April 20, 2016, 11:11:02 PM
How much is 1500 mbtc? Is it 1.5 BTC? Sorry for your loss but you should never play at that site. It's almost guaranteed you lose all your money when you play there. If you have addiction you have to seek for professional help. And don't forget, NEVER gamble to compensate your previous losses!

Yeah I hate it when people put mBTC or nBTC because most people aren't accustomed to exactly how much that is. But its only 1.5BTC so its a little over $600, not like the $5000-$20000 loses we have been seeing lately on this forum.

I've never seen nBTC before. Did you mean uBTC? If so, it should be obvious what each one means because it's basic math/science.

m = milli = 1/1,000
u = bit = micro = 1/1,000,000
d = deca = 10

And so on. Not really that difficult. So 1,500 mBTC = 1,500/1,000 = 1.5 BTC. Fast and easy. Anyone that's passed 6th grade should already know these things.
1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: April 20, 2016, 10:34:46 PM
Rich or poor is not guarantee for us to gambling or not
because gambling is not only to earn money
but gambling give us enjoyment too

Personally I think it would not matter to anyone. If you gamble you play either for the kick or you are an addict. So it won't matter how much money is in your pocket. There should be just enough to play/gamble.

and I think there should not be just enough to play gamble, but some good experience is also required to play gambling, if he have good knowledge about gambling he will benefitted with it and if he do not have any knowledge about gambling and come to play then he will unable to play well and will lose.

What does that even mean? There's only one type of gaming that's +EV: skill-based (poker is the only one I'm aware of). Other than this, you're -EV solely because of math.

1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Were there any cases of casino owners running away with bankroll, etc. ? on: April 20, 2016, 08:49:09 PM
Scammers of bankrolled sites who ran off:  Dice.Ninja, Diggit.io, IceDice, Win88, CoinWin

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Legitimate bankrolled sites that have good history:  Moneypot.com, BitDice.me, BetKing.io (formerly PRC), Dicenow.com, SatoshiDice.com, Just-dice.com (clams only though)

Personally I have a bit invested into all of these (some more than others) and think they're all a good safe option to consider (you can never know for certain though).

I want to second this list, though I will say that SatoshiDice has shown itself to not be too popular as of late, and since the site's +EV is based on a lot of turnover, that may not be a good idea. Or it could be great if someone loses a lot and others aren't winning. But I prefer higher turnover.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: April 20, 2016, 08:45:19 PM
Hell yeah, that should be the way for gambling in the first place.

Gambling isn't for poor fellows, its for rich people. You drink, you play, you eat and you enjoy your time. Because you almost got infinite money and you don't know what to do with it. The only fun thing for people like those, is the probability of "losing" :9
Indeed, I would also gamble if I where rich because if you are rich you can really enjoy gambling plus its also that if you play in real casino's you can really show your cash.
Rich and gambling would be very sweet in my opinion.

I think if you rich you always gamble because you have lots of money to gamble. thats why most people in the casino are rich and poor people are less.

i dont think poor people are less. they also frequent the casino. It is just that the amount is not a lot. The rich will see it is as a form of entertainment, so they dont just come for the casino. They will come and have fun, then after that will still have a line of activities. But poor people will just come to gamble and if they end up as a loss, they will just go home.

If you spend a lot of time in casinos, what you'd actually see is that poor people are usually gambling MORE of their income in the hopes of winning a lot. Rich do play for entertainment (for example, it's widely known that Bill Gates uses the penny slots, despite having billions). And then there's those that gamble for a living (poker players, for example) that wager a lot.
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is there any legal way to bet BTC in the USA on: April 20, 2016, 08:43:02 PM
The title states it Please let me know?
Online gambling is illegal in the US. Not only Bitcoin gambling, but all money gambling in general. What’s allowed?
Some free online games, fantasy leagues, and Indian gaming sites that aren’t strictly defined as Internet gambling.

https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2007/june/gambling_060607

This is actually off. This deals with fiat-based gaming -- not Bitcoin, which is a commodity. It's a gray area because nothing governs against it. As long as the laws remain how they are, with BTC as a commodity, it will remain okay to do so.

Hey, I'm not sure if you guys were aware of this or not but I did a little math today and it looks like "DustLottery" is skimming an additional 18.62% worth of house edge.  If I was a player I'd be uncomfortable with them taking such a massive cut (almost 30%) and if I was an MP investor I'd be uncomfortable with not receiving a full half of the profits they are making from their site, seeing as MP is taking 100% of the risk.  Here's a link if you'd like to read more: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1381214.msg14586566#msg14586566

As a player, I must say that the appeal to win such a large jackpot based on the minuscule amounts of each ticket was my draw to keep returning to the site. I never really found any of the promos that JPR held to be fishy. But even with the minuscule "dust" amounts that I was playing with on the site, there really is ZERO chance for a return, or to make a profit on that site, unless you hit the winning combination on the jackpot.

DarkDays, your post in the JPR DustLottery thread has opened up my eyes to see how unrealistic I was to have continued to frequent that site, and I appreciate you providing the math for us to see for ourselves. I hope that this is addressed promptly, and that at the very least, JPR has a chance to provide a rebuttal or some clarification for the House Edge in flux/question.

*grabs popcorn and waits*

To hit both of these at once, I personally see nothing wrong with how things are run with Dust Lottery. Here's why:

1) Investor PoV: nothing is different from any other app, other than the site having a higher house edge (meaning it's actually BETTER for both investors)

2) Everything is spelled out on their thread, as well as in the site itself. While it doesn't necessarily have the 'correct' house edge with all things considered, it pretty clearly says what the reward will be for a bet of xx amount. As such, the house edge is irrelevant. Players already know the chance of hitting the lottery, as well as what their rewards will be. HOW that comes to be has no relevance here -- it's like a real lottery. If they say you will win $300m if you pick all numbers, you really don't care about anything past that. All that matters is that you're betting xx to win y.

I see nothing shady. JPR has gone through what I would argue are pretty great lengths to both provide clarity (in their thread) and a straight answer as to what you're risking and what you gain (through the site itself).
