@OP electrum seeds are not bip39 and can't be restored in most other wallets.
For this reason alone I prefer to not use Electrum seeds for cold storage. A Bip-39 seed for cold storage is more practical, in my opinion, since it gives you more options to restore the wallet in case of an emergency or lack of access to computers or the Electrum software. All you would need is a hardware wallet or a wide variety of wallet software clients to restore a Bip-39 seed. Electrum seeds are great if you plan to use it as a hot wallet. They are designed with an additional checksum to inform the client whether the seed is intended for a segwit wallet or a legacy wallet, helping the user when restoring the wallet from seed. I've used the Ian Coleman tool to generate 24-word seeds, but I agree with others who've raised concerns about Java and browser-based entropy generators, they don't instill much confidence. The Ian Coleman tool does allow one to enter their own entropy, so I use /dev/urandom to generate 256-bit entropy that I then enter into the Ian Coleman tool. This command will generate a 256-bit HEX string that can be used for entropy: cat /dev/urandom | tr -dc 'A-F0-9' | fold -w 256 | head -n 1

and direwolf maybe you don't know what sarcasm is look it up thanks Sarcasm? I don't think that was sarcasm, which requires a sense of humor. You are humorless brat, with a sense of entitlement. That's not the first post you've made where you've demonstrated such entitlement, hell look your very next post: why should i pawn my ps5 sir ... just because i need money ? don't think so
i want to keep my ps5 and that's my personal choice to keep it and nobody can tell me otherwise that's my choice in this
Of course you can keep your game console, and everyone else would be best served to keep their money away from you. You are not entitled to a loan, and since you've been failing to get one for over a year (very likely with multiple accounts,) you've also demonstrated that you're a petulant, humorless, entitled brat.

I wrote my offer above, and before you brand me as a crook - provide the proofs No, your offer is not written above, you are asking people to communicate on a platform that is a known hotbed for scammers. And I don't need to prove you're a scammer, you are already behaving like one. Also, I didn't "brand" you a scammer... At least not yet.

I am also missing football heavily. Can we also have a fantasy baseball league for the next season after the NFL season with a lower fee? This might make waiting for football season much shorter heehhe.
Dang, I think you might be on to something here. We'd have to make a separate thread of course. But I'd be down. We just need to find a platform that will allow us to do an in-season draft as most teams have already played 9 or 10 games. I see there is a Sportsbet-sponsored MLB thread but not many other baseball-related threads outside of that. I'm gonna look into it. Correct if I am wrong, I remember that @wheelz or @Direwolf created a thread for MLB before. It might be better if we can use it and keep everything within the people who are participating in the league. Also, I would prefer if we start our MLB league before the 2024 regular season where we can also do the draft from the very beginning. Wasn't me. Watching Paint Dry Major League Baseball has never been among my favorite sports, other than going to a local game with family or friends. Tickets for random weekday-games are still relatively affordable and available enough, allowing groups to attend without much trouble. For that reason alone, it's my favorite live sporting event to attend, but in all honesty the game bores me.

This is the first time I'm seeing this thread, great initiative, NotATether!
If I may make a suggestion; I watched the video about containers, and honestly it got a bit frustrating. The music is too loud and distracting in comparison to the narration. Digital voice narration isn't the easiest to follow in the first place, as they often get accent iterations wrong, and with the background music drowning out parts of the narration it gets kind of murky. Otherwise the video is pretty good as a basic introduction to containers.
I look forward to reading the articles too.

Easy to understand that no one with a bit of intelligence will give no collateral loans to newbie! Just seems An attempt to get other users' personal documents and proof of income
That's assuming that dollarday isn't CYBER_COWBOY's alt account. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) The other question is who's going to pay 21% interest for a week-long loan for one dinner's worth of grocery money? There's definitely something phishy about CYBER_COWBOY's offer, and he has no leg to stand on calling out other members as scammers when there's no evidence of such.

Bisq is a perfect p2p Bitcoin exchange.
Agreed! It's also the only one I've used in the past year plus. There's no other p2p exchange that offers the level of security and safety of Bisq, either. Due to the requirement of a security deposit and the nature of it's multi-sig transactions, it's among the safest p2p exchanges I've ever seen. There's no KYC and all your data is stored on your local machine, so there's no risk of data leaks if someone tries to hack one of their remote servers. There's also no incentive to hack one of their servers, because there's nothing to be gained by doing so. It's not perfect, and it's limited if you like trading alts, but as a fiat to bitcoin on/off ramp it's second to none. It's also a great way to trade bitcoin for XMR, and vice-versa if you're trying to improve your privacy. https://bisq.network/

Congrats direwolf, epic round by yourself, one of the best I can remember seeing in a few years of being in the pool.
Congratulations Direwolf in this amazing round.
Congratulations brother 😘
Congratulations, direwolf, on a fantastic run of games.
I think this was the best yellow cap of the last two seasons if I am not mistaken but I am not that sure, nevertheless big congrats to the winner as I am sure he must have climbed a good number of positions with such a performance and it is also a good feeling for the upcoming rounds for direwolf.
Anyway, congrats @direwolf! Strong performance. GG and congrats to your yellow cap! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Thank you all for the congrats, this my first yellow cap ever! What a run, honestly I was a bit intimidated by the 16 matches from this past week. Definitely a pleasant surprise to have come up on top. I climbed 7 spots on the table, which puts at #32. My goal is to be in the top 25 by the end of the season, but we only have 9 weeks left, I think. Congrats to the others who made a good run this past week, quite an exciting week it was.

This has to be the cruelest of Theymos' april fools. He had me going for a while; trying (and repeatedly failing) to collect 24 coins to post in this thread. Then I noticed the "Post" button isn't greyed out. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) It's a good thing, because this morning it's asking me for 82 coins. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif)

But since I don't have a laptop, can I be able to access the use of Tor and electrum wallet with my phone, is an Android phone.
No, the mobile version doesn't have TOR Although the mobile version of Electrum doesn't have a built in Tor client, it is capable of connecting to a server through Tor. You will need a Tor client; I've used The Tor Projects official android app, Orbot. Once Orbot is installed and running the background service, you can set Electrum Mobile's proxy settings accordingly, and connect to a specific server by pasting in your onion address. I've used it plenty of times to connect to my own servers which broadcast over Tor. It's not fast by any means, but it'll work. I'm not sure if it'll search for available Tor servers, I've never used it that way.

Cases like this one only shows that legacy banking isn't going away any time soon. Being your own bank is a serious business. It is not a joke.
Unfortunately, this type of situation causes me to agree with you, as much as I don't want to. But as has been demonstrated by the OP's comments on Github, he expects the development team to compensate him for his loss, as if bitcoin was FDIC insured. Obviously it's not. The OP doesn't seem interested in evaluating his own habits and practices to make sure this never happens again. Doing so would equate to taking responsibility and accountability for the loss, while it's much easier to blame the software or the developers. I can't say that the OP is unique in this situation, the lack of accountability seems to be a societal plague these days.

I'm not a gamer at all, my only game is HMM 3.5 which was downloaded 15 years ago. About a year ago I had to leave my hometown because of the war UA - RU. I'm the only user of my laptop and no one else can access it in the apartment - there's no one but the cat who doesn't like BTC at all. During this time, nothing strange or dangerous happened to the software. The license is irrelevant to the situation as it doesn't require cracks or anything like that. So I really don't have any options how it could be other than if the seed was stolen much earlier, more than a year or three years. But judging by what happened, one gets the impression not of long-term storage and use years after the theft, but that the penetration took place in a recent period, which is impossible in my case.
A few years ago there were some malicious Electrum servers broadcasting a message to Electrum users directing them to download and install a malware version of Electrum. The malware wallet would send all the bitcoin in the wallet to the hacker's address whenever the user made an attempt to send ay transaction. I don't know if seed phrases were compromised by the same hack, but that certainly could have happened. I would suggest you start from scratch; fresh OS install, fresh Electrum install and make sure to verify the download before installing it, and then create a new seed. Write the seed down on paper, and store it in a safe place. Don't store the seed digitally, and don't store on any cloud servers. Here's a guide for verifying Electrum with GPG: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240594.msg54223763#msg54223763
