821  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Guides for using Bisq on: October 19, 2022, 06:34:42 PM
I think that Debian is much lighter than Ubuntu, and Fedora is getting more users but I wouldn't exactly called it light distro.
Bisq works great there and can easily be installed with -rpm package.
It is! Ubuntu = Debian + [bloat].
Fedora looks like a great daily driver to me. Makes sense that it's gaining popularity.

The Debian base OS is lighter than Ubuntu's base OS, but only by a small margin.  Ubuntu comes with the Snap Package Manager pre-installed (which can be handy for newbies who plan to install a desktop environment,) and it also comes with a couple of tools pre-installed which I find handy, UFW for example.

For Linux newbies who want a Desktop environment I recommend Ubuntu, but only the minimal version.  I feel that's probably the most user-friendly Linux distro for those crossing over from Windows.  The Ubuntu Desktop ISO makes it really easy to install the minimal version.  I've been using Debian for my servers lately, but Debian plus Gnome Desktop includes far more bloat than Ubuntu Minimal.  Maybe I'm missing something during the install, but the last thing I want to do is install a new OS, then spend hours uninstalling bloatware.

As for Desktop Environments; I'm an unabashed Windows user (I have my reasons) and I've played with XFCE and KDE, as well Cinnamon, but I still find the Gnome Desktop the most practical for Linux.  YMMV.

I think a red flag is also equally important, especially for newbies and guest users. So I am creating one

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3039

Actually you created a yellow (type 1) flag, which I supported.  A red flag should only be created by the individual who was scammed.  Interestingly enough, YoYa scammed someone for $65 almost 3 years ago. then showed up 8 months later to make good.  Do I see a pattern?

Friendly reminder to all to put your predictions in.

Week 12 matches begin tomorrow!

what about Tottenham, they are holding great as well?
They don't have an advantage of 4 points against City and I see them more like cup team. You know a team that is more likely to surprise in one or two games and win against anybody then keep a constant throughout the whole season and be league champions.

Kane has been on point whole season while Son has been quite poor for the most of it. Spurs will need Son in his best form for any chance of fighting with the best teams. Richarilson and Kulusevski are solid players but they can't be placed in same sentence as in form Son.

I expected more from the Spurs this year, as well.  1/4 of they way through the season and I tend to agree with Trofo here.  After Son's performance last year I figured the Kane/Son combo could be dominant this year.  They reminded me of Salah/Firmino of years past.  It's still too early to count the Spurs out of contention for the title, but they definitely need more consistency from Son if they're going to get there.  Nonetheless, I wouldn't count them out of the top 5 when it's all over.
829  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT, will somebody tag this man???????? on: October 17, 2022, 06:59:25 PM
Someone must have notified FFrankie about the BitLucy debacle (possibly through the miracle of direct message,) and low and behold; the signature is gone.  So, now that it's done will the yellow-bellied OP please log into his alt to lock this thread?
830  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan lending service on: October 17, 2022, 06:23:42 PM
~

This looks like nothing but an attempt to scam people out of their collateral, or obtain identifying documentation for nefarious purposes.  If you're looking for a collateralized loan, you won't have any problem getting one from the reputable and experienced lenders on this forum.  I suggest you avoid this shady offer, made by an obvious tool phishing for a scam.

[H] PayPal [W] BTC - $220

I prefer to send to a Swedish PayPal account.
Start with a low amount.
I will go first, so newbies or risky accounts, you dont need to reply.

Only old school good reputation accounts.

Sorry to be the one that breaks it to you, but those who have old-school good-reputation accounts know that accepting PayPal from a newbie is extremely risky.  Going first won't make any difference.  I doubt you're going to get anyone to take your offer.
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 16, 2022, 07:51:00 PM
I've surprised myself this week with two correct scores and the other two correct outcomes to come out joint first of the round so far. Need to start picking up some points cos I've been doing terrible this season.

Taking points from 7 of the matches this week is freakin' awesome.  Good job, congrats on taking the yellow cap.

The LFC/City match was pretty fun to watch, even if it was much lower of a score than most of us predicted.  I finally caved to the pressures of expectations, and set my prediction as 2-3 City, but I'm not bitter.  My two favorite clubs are Arsenal and who ever is matched against City.   Grin
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 16, 2022, 04:27:31 PM
Alright I did it.  Laid a bet on my ny giants.  +5.5 at home, if they don't win I think they can keep it close today.  But then again I laid a bet on them so here comes a blowout loss lol.  Enjoy the games today and good luck in ff all!

It should be a fun game, and that's actually a pretty good handicap.  I expect a closer game.  The SNF game should be fun too.  We'll see if the Eagles are the real deal or if they flub it to the Cowgirls.

Who they playing, I need a defense! Tongue

Haha, you are a rascal!  Don't do it Anakin, the Giants have the high ground.  They're playing the Ravens, who are already taken.  If you're serious about needing a D/ST, out of the top three defenses that are available today, I think Carolina might be your best bet.

Good luck to all today!  Except you, nutildah.  Not you.

And also the software is not downloading in my PC, it is written "Failed-Needs authorization". What should I do again? or is it that source you provided for me to download is not supported by my system?
When I clicked on the notification. This is what I got.
Quote
“Needs authorization”
This error means you don't have permission to download the file.

To fix the error, contact the website or server owner, or try to find the file on a different site.
Does that mean I do not have the permission to download the software? or my country is not allowed?

I agree with n0nce, this sounds like an issue with local privileges of one form or another.  It could be you may not be logged into an account that has local admin privileges.

There may also be restrictions from the local network; for example, some public wifis will restrict downloads of files over a certain size.  I don't know what OS you use, but the .deb file is over 210 megabytes, which isn't huge but it's worth considering.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 15, 2022, 04:33:33 PM
What do you guys think of Arsenal to win and BTTS combo at 2.85?  I think that's pretty good odds if we play with the numbers the books are giving us.  Leeds over .5 goals is around 1.50 or close to it, Arsenal to win is at 1.55 but Arsenal and BTTS is at 2.85?  I think that's pretty good number imho.

Another line I like is Man City straight up at 1.89 for obvious reasons.  Not sure why it's decently high with how good they're running.

Feels like a trap, this has 2-0 arsenal written all over it. What are the odds on Arsenal to win and BTTS "No"?

2.75 Grin

Lol.  I love a good smart ass reply to a rhetorical question.  Cheesy

I don't know, but I think tokeweed might be on to something.  I like Leeds for a goal most of the time, but funny thing is my prediction in the pool is exactly what Hhampuz suggested.  I'm actually torn between that prediction or 1-3 Arsenal.  I've been predicting 3 goals for the Gunners the last two weeks, and they've rewarded me with exact predictions both times.  Should I break the pattern?

Another line I like is Man City straight up at 1.89 for obvious reasons.  Not sure why it's decently high with how good they're running.

SB has City money line at 1.87 at the moment, but man that's a tough one.  You really wanna bet against LFC at home with their backs against the wall?  I haven't locked in my prediction on the pool, but currently I've got that match as a tie.  I want to see the lineups before I change my mind.

@DireWolfM14  thank you for your advice u really appreciate what you saying and is truth
Im not a trader but i need paypal sometimes also i ask friend and family to avoid this charge back.
someexchabgers or reputable excgangers ask for KYC todo this trade so thats why i came here . Anyway thank you again

No problem, I hope I was helpful.  That's one of the reasons I use and recommend Bisq; no KYC, no accounts to register.  The software works over the tor network and uses a peer to peer connection so there are no servers that store any of your personal information.  Essentially that's the same way bitcoin works, so it's nice to have a trading platform that adheres to the same philosophy.  Best of luck.
838  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need 200usd paypal have ltc/btc on: October 14, 2022, 04:42:28 PM
Need 200usd Paypal friernd and family
I have ltc or paypal 1:1

I recommend you stop using PayPal for bitcoin trades.  The risk of chargebacks will last for months after the deal is done, and bitcoin sellers almost always get screwed.  It's also very common for PayPal funds to originate from stolen credit cards, which gives you absolutely no recourse.  Zelle is much safer due the fact the funds originate from a funded bank account.  Although there's still a risk of charge backs, the risk is mitigated to some extent.

Also, the best place to do these kinds of trades is Bisq, I suggest you familiarize yourself with it and use that platform.  Most 1:1 trade offers get taken within hours, and because of the way Bisq works it tends to mitigate the risk of being scammed.

https://bisq.network/getting-started/

Why would anyone do this nonsensical trade with you, not only is there no money to be made but there's money to be lost?

Why do you assume that every trade needs to be profitable?  This is a discussion forum, not your personal business platform.  If one person makes a profit the other suffers a loss, but the OP states clearly he's looking for a 1:1 trade, and if both parties use a US based PayPal account there are no fees for either party.  Sounds pretty darn fair to me.

Will this Thursdays Amazon Prime game be more boring than last Thursdays?

I'm excited to find out.

I don't know if it's more boring, but it's pretty boring.  At least it's not all penalties and punts, there were a few failed 4th down attempts, lol.  You know it's bad when Ryan Fitzpatrick's beard is the most epic thing about the broadcast.

Fields just looks awful. He’s reminding of Mitch Trubisky so much it’s scary.

He is looking pretty awful, but so is Wentz.  At least Wentz took a hit to his throwing hand, which is somewhat of an excuse.
