Should have demanded everyone pay in Monero...

Lol, that would do it.  Grin

It funny you say that; Hueristic sent me XMR in trade for his BTC payment right after the ring upgrade thingy.  Our respective wallets were causing us both nightmares for hours.

... that way you could convert it to ETH and YOLO into CryptoDickButts, Sea Hams, and some other pretty sweet NFTs.

I don't think I want anything to do with dickbutts, crypto or otherwise. Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Shocked

So when's our draft date? And we still need for the league to be created, right?

If I forgot to vote for something, just assign my vote to the current majority on unresolved issues, thanks.

I vote for Sept. 2, the last Friday before the week 1.  The first game of the season is Thursday Sept. 8.

I didn't get much time to compile the votes from the last couple of weeks, but I'll try to sneak it in the next couple of days.  I did add all the recently discussed items to the main list in this post:

No, there must be something inside, at least the wallet has to show the transactions.

Last time i ve reached my wallet like 2012 summer, the pop up message like “update the electrum copy the private keys” its even showing what i ve n all transactions, so i left it as it is

I just wanna be sure if its electrum or
If Anybody see the topic and used to use electrum 2010 to 2012, in console tab its showing donators how much they donate the server n with their names, does remember this thing please light me up

It doesn't matter what software was used to create the seed in the past.  If it's a valid seed, then you should be able to restore your wallets.  As I recall, Electrum was in development as early as 2011, but the first release was in 2013.  The most widely used wallet during the time you're referring to was bitcoin core.

Have you tried to restore the seed in the current version of Electrum?

Man utd failures were sort of to be expected but.. LFC 2 draws, could this be considered worse with the opposition in mind?

That was a pretty bad result for LFC.  I wasn't able to watch the match since I'm at work, but I tuned the big screen in the break room to the match and gave myself a couple of excuses to walk in there, lol.  I missed the red-card at 57' and I'm sure that didn't help LFC any.

ManU is another story all together.  Bottom of the table, with a goal differential of minus 5?  As bad as Arsenal's start was last year, I don't think they touched the bottom of the table.  It's embarrassing for such a storied club.  Of course there's no reason to panic just yet.  It seems that ManU has more trouble with bottom dwellers than established clubs, or at least they did when Ole was the manager.  My jury is still out on whether Ten Hag was the right choice.  His record in Holland was pretty darn good, but I don't know enough about the Dutch league to compare it with the EPL.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 15, 2022, 08:58:08 PM
Lol. Conte have no right to celebrate a fraud goal in our manager's box, that was disrespectful and unprofessional thing to do.

That was disrespectful, and out of line.  I understand emotions run high in a cross town match with one of your fiercest rivals, but that was uncalled-for.

Just curious though, why did Conte get red-carded, and how will that affect the Spurs next match?  Was it for the celebration in Chelsea's box?  If so, why did the referee wait until the end of the game to book Conte?  I thought it might have something to do with the post-game exchange with Tuchel, but it was obviously Tuchel who was being the more aggressive one in that exchange.
1066  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Casino Critique - needs sugesstion. PGP finger print and signed bitcoin address on: August 15, 2022, 07:33:41 PM
Can someone confirm that  Hhampuz, DireWolfM14 and other forum members are part of Casino Critique team?
They created new topic in Gambling, they are asking for Bitcoin to be sent for some ICO and they locked the topic so I can't ask any questions.
What is up with that?

I can confirm that I am holding one of the three signing keys for the escrow address.  That is the only involvement I have with the team.

I'll let Hhampuz confirm for himself.

Please feel free to enable notification of new replies for announcement topic.
Why is your topic locked?

I assume it's because the thread is not ready for prime time.  Casino Critique wanted the escrow agents to sign a message to post in that thread.  I predict that the thread will be unlocked once the messages are signed and posted.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 15, 2022, 06:17:15 PM
In this case, there were several phases of play. One phase of play leads to ball recovery for Spurs (Bentancur's tackle, the alleged foul mentioned which honestly looks like a clean tackle from Taylor's pov), there's another phase where there was a loss of ball possession by ball carrier (Jorginho), and this lead to another phase of play where the attacking team gained possession (heung min son) and then they score. VAR can't intervene since there were no offences by the attacking team in the phase of play that leads to the goal.

Thanks for explaining that.  I was wondering why the VAR didn't seem to be too concerned about the tackle when reviewing the goal.  Regardless,  I saw Bentancur's tackle as 100% fair and legal even if only by a fraction of a second, and smaller fraction of a millimeter.  I was happy to see play continue after that without a whistle.

And for the final incident, I'm not sure why Conte wouldn't let Tuchel's hand go. Conte will never go near the bridge again!!! He's a fucking scumbag.
it was Tuchel who wouldn't let go of Conte's hand, it looked like the italian was doing a beeline straight to the stands with Spurs fans but Tuchel had other plans and it completely caught Conte off guard which is why we got that 'shocked' expression 😂 Tuchel even said he wanted Conte to look him in the eye.

That's how I saw it too.  Conte had that shacked/painful look on his face like Tuchel was applying the iron grip, lol.  Tuchel obviously pulled Conte over to him as he had his hand in that deathgrip. then pointed to his eyes like "I'm watching you!"  Lol, football drama is way more fun than Bitcointalk drama.  Just sayin'.

What the fuck is wrong with me?  Here I am trying remain transparent and ethical and moral by leaving the funds in the escrow address, untouched for 22 weeks.  Just imagine how many premier league matches I could squander that money on, then be left to pay you guys out of my own pocket...   Cheesy Cheesy

I was going to end that post with "Be your own bank," but it just sounded so cliché.   Grin
1070  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Warm Fuzzy Feeling Of Too Much Regulation on: August 15, 2022, 04:48:21 PM
~

It's a fascinating question, and timely in a sense.  The question can really be distilled to simply this: "Do you trust financial institutions more than government regulators?"

Obviously that's a loaded question that requires some background before it can be answered; i.e. which financial institution, and which government?  The government of the most successful country on the planet is nothing but a collection of people who are all subject to corruption and hunger for power.  Even if there are regulations in place to curb corruption, there are plenty of opportunities for the corrupt to cheat the system.

Do I trust banks?  Yes, I do.  Why?  Because they're existence is focused on one thing; making money.  No matter how they advertise their service, no matter what incentives they offer their clients, no matter how many free pens they've given me their reason for existence is transparent.  Pure and simple.

Do I trust governments?  No, I don't.  Why?  For the very same reasons; their goals aren't known, they are not transparent, and their regulations are often meant to serve a purpose other than what they claim.  When was the last time a government regulation actually affected a cause as it was advertised?  It's been my experience that the more regulations a government puts in place to "protect the people" the more likely those regulation will actually protect said government's authority and income.

Now, having said all that; what way to choose when the banks and the governments are in cahoots?  It's a complicated world we live in.

Even if someone say you are a nazi troll? Cheesy

Are you insinuating that I'm not?  Tongue

Whatever.  The last refuge of a coward has always been and will continue to be name-calling and attempting to portray your adversary as the most evil thing you can think of.  It says more about the accuser's inability to defend his actions than anything else.  But, you do make a good point; ignoring such obtuse idiots is probably the best course of action.

Ideally, if you're an active reporter and want to use the ignore function, you can report a few posts by a shitposter and then put that member on ignore.  After that, you've done your part and the person is either going to get banned or they're not.  It wouldn't make sense to keep reporting their posts if the mods aren't going to take action.

I hear ya, it can be irritating to see obvious shit posting trolls run rampant.  But I think persistence can pay off eventually.  Recently there was that viral freak who had an ax to grind with facebook.  It took making a threat before he finally got banned.  Somebody must have reported that post, and I'm glad that it was.  If the reporter had the account on ignore that post may have gone unreported.  That's probably not the best example, but you catch my drift.

Congrats to LFC_Bitcoin, he just climbed 47 slots from the bottom of the table to number 2.  It looks like the yellow cap is hanging by a thread.  It helped that he's the only one who got exact points for the Nottingham win over West Ham.  I'm 11 positions up from last week as of now, but I took a gamble on Tottenham @ Chelsea match.  Hopefully the Spurs pull through for me.
1073  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: August 14, 2022, 12:54:31 PM
It is working ok for me this morning. I just needed to wait a bit longer then usual to add it to the ticket. The screen went grey and it lasted good 20 seconds, normally I don't even notice the wait. Maybe they fixed it in the meantime.

It's working for me too.  Good thing, because I really wanted to squander some money on the Spurs pulling an upset.

Not many must to see games today, so I am organizing my daily chores around Chelsea-Tottenham match. Should be a good one and maybe we will get a glimpse of actual club strengths here.

Argeed, the LFC and Palace match looks like it'll be pretty lop-sided.  Nottingham can be unpredictable, their match with West Ham might turn into a battle.  The Chelsea/Tottenham match could go either way, so that one should be fun.

ETA:

That was an amazing game.  So many great moments, and so contentious all the way to the end, and beyond.  Conte looked like he was in pain when Tuchel tugged his hand to draw him closer, then he was the one who got the red-card.  The drama was funny.  I wonder what Tuchel had to say...
1074  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Help - Hardware Wallet on: August 14, 2022, 12:44:09 AM
I've had both manufacturer's wallets, and prefer the Trezor over the Ledger models by far.  The Trezor should be used with the Bip39 passphrase enabled to ensure maximum security.  The Bip39 passphrase feature with a Ledger isn't as critical, but highly recommended nonetheless.  I really like the features of the Foundation Passport batch 2, which I hope to purchase soon.  I recently purchased a ColdCard (my review can be found here,) and I'm really liking it so far.  I've been using it as my main wallet for the past few months.

Remember not all links are as they appear: https://shiftcrypto.ch/bitbox02/

So, which hardware wallet manufacturer will never give us up, let us down, run around and desert us?  Which will never make us cry, say goodbye, tell us lies, and hurt us?  Lips sealed

Am I the only one having issues with betbuilder?  I've been getting an error whenever I try to save the bet to my betslip.  It's been happening for the last couple of days.  At first I thought it might be my script and ad blockers, but I have sportsbet.io whitelisted and the issue persists.

I can add other bets to my betslip, just not betbuilder.

1077  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: August 13, 2022, 06:58:55 PM
This isn't the first time mixers have been targeted by authorities, and I'm sure it won't be the last.  This type of government-assault on privacy services seems to happen every two to three years, or so.  ChipMixer has survived at least one other that I recall from 2019, and based on my perception of their opsec, I imagine they'll be here for a significant time to come.

Governments are, of course, going to harass and intimidate anyone in the space that leave themselves open.  If for no other reason than to make an example of them, assuming that will deter others.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2022, 05:09:10 PM
So. I was adamant Ten Hag wasn't the man, but even I couldn't predict he'd ask his team to do stuff they couldn't do. Caught a snatch of the comical antics in both goals... United trying to play out from the back? When you've got a team completely low and confidence and a certain guy whose name starts with an M and ends in aguire?

Would have gone for a Brentford bet if I could access, hope you guys did bank.

Brentford is on fire!  4-0 only 36 minutes in.  I didn't get around to placing any bets on today's game, but I was thinking of taking Brentford money line.  I figured ManU would struggle today, but I didn't figure they would implode!
1079  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi blacklisting update - open letter / 24 questions discussion thread on: August 13, 2022, 05:04:46 PM
The outcome of a Monero transaction is not a case of "this input is definitely linked to one of these outputs, but I don't know which one" as it is with coinjoins, but rather "I don't know which input is being used, and I don't know where it is going".

In addition to not disclosing the origin or destination, the amount of the transaction is also obscured.  Monero is, in my opinion, the most secure and effective way to maintain privacy.  But, like anything else of course, the weakest link is the user.  The most secure privacy coin can't save you from yourself.
1080  Economy / Reputation / Re: My Ignorelist + 1 question on: August 13, 2022, 04:33:55 PM
Not trying to put every shitposter on ignore makes it easier to report their posts, if you're into that kind of thing.

I'm not incredibly active in reporting, but that's a good reason to ignore the ignore function.  Another reason is laziness.  Yet another is that curiosity always seems to get the better of me.  I suppose it would make it easier to avoid irritation from time to time, but I don't take anything that happens here too seriously.  It's just a forum, after all.
