Honestly, anyone dealing with something as sensitive as a mixer should already be using Tor for it.
Very true. It's unfortunate that this has been happening to the clear-net site because I'm afraid most people don't go to much trouble to protect their privacy, and have likely never used tor. That may be less true about bitcoiners looking to mix their coins, but I believe the statement still accurately applies. The issue was only made worse for those who rely on their phones. Until recently there was no official TorProject mobile app, so people had to rely on third party apps and plugins which carry their own risks.

One of the reasons is some exchanges Block users from certain countries using their services by identifying them from KYC. So they can't use such exchanges to buy or sell Bitcoin. Platforms like Bisq are a great option.
Another reason to use p2p options whenever available is because that's how bitcoin was intended to be used. The premise of institutional commercialization and KYC requirements is the antithesis of the philosophy behind bitcoin. It's meant to, and capable of freeing us from the Surveillance Sate. Whenever people comply with KYC requirements they are only enable the SS to march on.
Not to stray to far off-topic; but this one of the reasons I'm opposed to alts in general. For the most part they've been largely (by volume) scams, and the ones that aren't have largely failed to live up to promises. There are notable exceptions, of course. However, they have also served yet another sinister purpose that may or may not have been anticipated: Alts have largely become a mechanism for "legitimate exchanges" to get rich while selling out our privacy to regulatory agencies. As this pertains to bisq; it is a very bitcoin-centric platform, but it does provide for convenient trading of XMR and it does offer provisions for trading many other alts. So, even alts can be traded p2p and without KYC.

Kudos to Bisq for jumping on this so quickly.
Yeah, those tweets made a big stink on bisk.chat's Growth room. Most people were not happy to see the twitter contributor step into that drama. That is childish and pathetic. For the same reasons that we wouldn't judge bisq on the tweets of one rogue intern, it's best not to demonize Samourai Wallet for that tweet. I would advise the Samourai development team to take a cue from Bisq on this one, and consider changing their twitter tactics.
Wasabi is not spying on you and with Tor enabled they don't even know your real IP address. Centralized exchanges are spying people for sure. they are blacklisting, freezing coins, closing accounts, and most people are still using them. You don't need an IP address to spy on someone. And Wasabi have already clearly stated that they are/will be paying blockchain analysis companies to analyze your UTXOs and tell them the history of each and every one of them. If that's not spying then I don't know what is. Regardless of what you call it, what Wasabi is doing isn't good for bitcoin. Even if it isn't spying in a way to to associate coins with a specific individual, it is gathering intelligence in an attempt to devalue bitcoin. How the Wasabi developers aren't seeing this is mind boggling, and leaves me no choice but to agree with this: As I said previously, as far as I am concerned this viewpoint is actively malicious.
Anyway, it seems I've been coming to the defense of definitions quite frequently as of late: spy (verb) spied; spying

I am starting to think they could made all this fuss and fix just to promote this new Virtual Disk feature, because they are very excited about this.
The VirtDisk is actually a pretty cool feature. It automates signing PSBTs to some extent, i.e. as soon as you save a PSBT onto the VirtDisk the ColdCard automatically recognizes it and asks if you want to sign the transaction. With the VirtDisk feature enabled you don't need a mSD card at all. The other neat thing about it is that it's volatile memory, so once you log off the ColdCard or disconnect it from power the memory is purged. It's only 4MB of memory, but that's plenty for PSBT or wallet files. And, it's a whole 10% of the HUGE hard drive I bought back in 1989.

I can take the USDT on the Tron Network and send DireWolfM14 the ETH if that is any help ? TGJUJ9t2qbTsRxGzwxtjvu3Lyk6Yuc4Xp8 I'd rather get bitcoin if it's all the same, but this works too.

Usdt is on trc network so please provide me an address on that chain otherwise i will send you back the ETH you sent me
I don't use Tron and I won't be buying some anytime soon. Keep the ETH and do what you have to do. If you want to wait until you have some bitcoin, you can send $4 worth to the address staked in my profile. I'm in no hurry.

He should have mentioned it in the OP that was his plan. He did mention it. Oh, you're right. I overlooked it at first because I wasn't planning on granting the loan. Like I said; whatever. One shitcoin is as good as another, and at least this one is pegged to the biggest scam coin of all.

I appreciate your help, but you should know that i will pay you back on usdt because i will trade the tokens for usdt So you should send me your usdt address as well This is my etherum address 0x7dd6cEFA0af8B5DE7c0d2e29D64b9576c45fC2E0
The ETH has been sent, here's the TxId: 0xed6c033ff8e9dc687358d2adee41136aeb527763fe54a1c0963bcaf1a504ebd2As for the repayment; I wasn't expecting USDT, but whatever. Please send back to the same address and use the ERC20 chain. I don't own any stupidchain shitcoins. In fact I only just recently recovered an old seed and found it still had a bit of ETH in it. We all grow up eventually. You're changing the terms *after* you receive the loan?
Bad form, I agree. He should have mentioned it in the OP that was his plan.

Umm yeah that makes sense to me, well if there’s someone who i can trust i will handle him my account and he can sell the tokens and send me 40$ on usdt and take the rest, otherwise i will buy some etherum tomorrow i just don’t wanna risk the price drops of grn token
Ah, what the hell. I like your post history, so I'll take a chance on you. Send me an ERC20 address. Post it here or send it via PM. I'll send you 0.0015 ETH, you can send back whatever you feel is fair. When you're ready to send it back you can send to the same address from which it came.

Your TrustWallet account isn't good collateral, accounts of that type can easily be retrieved by social engineering. The other issue you're going to run up against; gas fees for sending $2 worth of ETH will cost about $1. Not that $2 is a huge risk for many, but why take the risk to make $1? I suggest you find another way to get the ETH you need.

Yall following training camp news?
I started reading some articles after reading your post and I am very shocked to learn that Russell Wilson is now the quarterback of the Denver Broncos. Has anyone posted about this trade in this thread? I might have not paid attention. Who will be the Seahawks quarterback? Geno Smith? This will not be good for their season. It also appears that Jimmy Garoppolo might have another chance to be first quarterback for a team that might be satisfactory for him. Wilson is a huge upgrade for Denver but don't go for <Redacted> he is being over hyped again. I don't want redacted to go to Seattle either, that's too close. I can just imagine Carrol building a line that makes redacted look like Brady and haunt us for the next ten years. The thing is he's not that bad when he can stay healthy, and with a coach like Carrol he might actually be able to win a super bowl.

And this is why you don't add features you don't need.
Agreed. I purchased a ColdCard because it's a practical air-gapped wallet. The USB connection feature (which is needed for the virtual disk) essentially turn the ColdCard into the same thing as any other cheap hardware wallet out there. The main selling point for me is that it doesn't need to be connected. The NFC feature is another one that I would suggest should be shelved. It's not only not needed, it's effectively useless without a compatible app.

do not download from a third party websites or else you are at risk of losing money
Bitcoin.org is a third party, it is not the official bitcoin site. Bitcoincore.org is the only official site, bitcoin core is the only official bitcoin wallet, and it is not available for android.
@Tim101, if you have access to a PC, follow LoyceV's advice. If you don't have a PC, the steps are pretty much the same if you use Electrum for android. Instead of sweeping the private key (sweeping creates a transaction and will cost you some sats for a mining fee) I suggest you import the private key into a new wallet. That will save you at least one transaction fee.

Samourai are maybe spying on you, but you can still achieve privacy by running your own server. Wasabi are provably spying on you, and there is nothing you can do about it. I wouldn't use either.
Yeah, the SPV server issue is easily resolved by running your own instance of bitcoin core or a node with an Electrum server. Samourai can spy on you if you use their servers, but how can we insure they're not spying on you address by address when using Whirlpool? I may not be as technically sophisticated as many here, but I don't see how we can ensure that's not the case. Thanks for the link. I can't believe the arrogance of that post, just wow. "Bitcoin Core and Electrum had coin control before, but I informed the world how cool coin control is." Here's a comment from that post that has me laughing out loud and fuming at the same time: The thing is, making Bitcoin fungible is not an easy task and all odds are against us.
@nopara73, get a grip, dude. You're not making bitcoin fungible any more than you're making the US dollar fungible. You don't have that kind of clout, so stop making a fool of yourself by saying asinine shit like that. Bitcoin is fungible with or without you, and you're not helping it's fungibility at all. Quite the contrary, your shenanigans can only hurt.
