After the fact, well if they get hacked once, probably will get hacked again, no? And as a general step of precaution / information to anyone reading and thinking about opening another bank account. Always think twice about this kind of stuff. Yeah, it's not like a lightning strike, lol. I agree that thinking twice about "accounts" in general... I think the best way to operate is to keep a minimal footprint. The fewer organizations that have your personal data stored on their servers the more secure that data is likely to be.

Sometimes there's sadly no way around using a bank, but if possible, I try to avoid exchanging for fiat altogether. For instance, if I can order something on Amazon or another website that has gift cards on https://www.bitrefill.com/, I use that. If there's a shop accepting BTC directly (even if the price may be slightly higher), I order there. Even bitrefill collects personal data, as described in their privacy policy. I haven't used them, nor do I have an account, but I suspect the data they require depends largely on the services you request. I don't suspect they need much to for purchasing giftcards, but I imagine they would need your real name and address to pay bills, not to mention your account number for the service provider the payment is be made. The ideal scenario would be for most service providers and retailers to start accepting bitcoin directly. With regards to choosing a bank that won't be hacked, I can't give any advice, but I suspect that there are large differences in security budget allocation, jurisdictions (whether it's punished to get customer data leaked), credibility and such. It's possible that a European bank has much tighter guidelines in terms of privacy due to GDPR, but I'm not sure about that. But what does that really provide if a breach has already happened? I understand that banks are more likely to spend more on network security due to certain regulations, but that only goes so far. Leaks can happen in so many different ways, getting hacked is only one of them. I suspect like most laws and regulations, these are largely intended to punish those who are found violating them, but can't really do much to prevent breaches.

Wow, that is a troubling development. Luckily I have plenty of offers in my national currency through other payment methods, but I do have a mostly dormant Revolut account. Unfortunately this kind of thing is getting so common, even big banks have had leaks, Wells Fargo has had three in the last 5 years alone. Obviously it's possible to do all one's transactions without a bank account, but being able to pay my mortgage with bitcoin sure would be nice.

I have been seen Bisq in the forum for sometime but was not having the mindset to go through it but today I decided to glance through "what is Bisq all about before thinking of using it. And when I read Bisq, it is nice to try. But before I start to try or using it, I will like to know some vital things about the software. 1. is the installation and the registration in the software require internet or it can be run and register on offline? 2. does Bisq software accept other currencies apart from USD? Because from my research I saw only usd with btc exchange 3. will I buy the software key before the registration? and finally 3. can you please provide the link to download the software because I don't want to download the fake one and be scammed. 1. The software can be installed offline (after downloading) but it needs to be connected to the internet to see offers or have your offers visible to others. It's worth noting that the software connects to peers over Tor network. 2. You can trade almost any Fiat currency for BTC, not just USD. There are plenty of digital payment methods that work well with Euros. One in particular, Revolut can be used to convert many Fiat currencies to Euro, which may give you more flexibility if your national currency only has a few offers. 3. The software is free to download and install. Fees are charged when you take an offer or create an offer. 4. Below I've listed a couple of links, one to the projects official site, their github page, and the ann thread here on the forum: https://bisq.network/https://github.com/bisq-network/bisqhttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5230289.0

What a weekend of games, it started out with a dud, and ended with a ton of excitement. That was a fun game last night, and it didn't hurt that my QB was battling South Park's kicker, lol. Congrats to all this week's winners, BTW.

What a busy morning, I'm exhausted already. So much exactment, and all of it in England, lol. I don't think my remote has ever seen so much action. I was afraid it would over heat. We should officially rename NFC LEAST to NFC BEAST!
Eagles are the only unbeaten team in the league, Giants absolutely rolling, Cowboys 3-1 playing with their backup QB...
Lets not get carried away just yet, lol. The Giants are looking like the real deal, but my jury is still out on the Eagles. They remind me too much of how the Cardinals started out last year.

Turning out as I suspected, high scoring and even though LFC is winning the possession game, Arsenal seems more dominant when they have the ball. That was a brilliant start for Martinelli, good to see him active in the scoring. Jesus gave me quite a scare seeing him motionless on the ground. When I saw the replay I was afraid he may have torn his ACL, the way he came down on his right foot to avoid stepping on Odegaard was pretty awkward. So much football excitement today, including the American kind. That was an amazing game held at Tottenham's stadium.
ETA: For the second week in a row Arsenal give me an exact prediction! That was an amazing match!

Chucked the rest of my balance at Giants to cover +8.5... hoping this will motivate Barkley to score big points for my team.
Lol, I don't think that's how it works... but seriously? You wen all in on the Giants by 9? Balls of titanium, my friend. ETA: notice my mistake, typical Sunday Morning dragging my ass (and brain) before that first cup of coffee. But the titanium balls still apply. interesting time for a football game, works for me...
Yeah, I guess it's better than the middle of the night. Funny schedule for a few games today; now the folks on the east coast will now what it's like to have football on all day, from morning well into the night. The 9ers @ Atlanta is also at a funny time for an east coast game, but it'll allow me to watch LFC @ Arsenal before the game gets too far along.

1.No,the coins went first to the address that i wanted, but then they moved.
That's not a good sign. I hope I'm wrong but it sounds to me like your wallet may have been compromised. Can you tell from a block explorer whether coins moved instantly or was there some delay? wallet.change_gap_limit(50) With this command, the gap limit increases to 50. I am 100% sure that it is the correct seed to my wallet. That could be so. How do i perform such comand? Where should i write that code? In Electrum select the View menu and then select Show Console. You can enter the command in the console. You can also use the console to search for a specific address that lives beyond your gap limit with the command suggested by OmegaStarScream: It should be for this wallet, but maybe restored it in the wrong way. Maybe i have restored it through wrong derivation path or made some other mistake. How should i make it right again? Any advice would be appreciated.
If it's a different derivation path you can let Electrum search for it. When restoring the seed phrase, on the same page that asks about type of addresses you want to restore there should be a button to search for alternate derivation paths. If you had applied a pass phrase (seed extension,) unfortunately it's up to you to remember it, otherwise you probably won't be able to restore the wallet. Nevertheless, I'm still concerned about your claim that the coins moved from the address you sent them to. That indicates to me that you may have been scammed some how. Was this the first time you had sent coins to this particular wallet?

That was the most boring game I've seen in a long time. I also ingested fermented libations attempting to appease the gods of entertainment, but it backfired. I started falling asleep and couldn't even focus long enough to acknowledge the score. I gave up and went to bed before half time. It didn't help that was up since 4 am and needed to get up that early this morning as well. Russel Wilson is among the quarterbacks that I think quite highly of, but now I think he only looks good when playing against the 49ers.

There are a couple of things that could have happened to cause your issue, but don't give up just yet. Please answer the questions below and we may be able to help you.
1. Are the coins that you sent still in the the address where you sent them, or have they moved? 2. Does the address you sent the bitcoins to start with a 1, 3, or bc1? 2. Does the restored wallet have addresses that start with a 1, 3, or bc1? 3. Was the 12-word seed phrase created with Electrum or some other method?

Realistically, I'm just tired of this topic, I'm tired of shit-posting sig-spammers (oh, the irony) stirring up drama just to meet their quota
Seriously, please don't tell me you're referring to me. If you are, just say so. Absolutely not. The individuals to whom I'm referring don't need me to iterate their names, they know perfectly well who they are.

You forgot the one hundred times the merits compared to what you have @Maasdamer
Not quite 100 times if you add up all the merits he's given to his own alts.
