Looking at CMC...I'm seeing a increase in market cap thru inflation of the supply, not a price increase per individual Paycoin.
Just guessing from what I've seen, there seem to be about 100,000 fresh XPY per day being added. Anyone have real numbers for the inflation rate on XPY ?

Hey! We need eagle logo! Please choose any on a choice! No bloody eagles. This is a blunt point, but any pretty much any eagle insignia will make NEM look like a bunch of fascists. Really, trust me on this. Same for lions, btw. Its nice, that everyone wants to participate, but if it goes on like this, every month another "genius" thinks, he found a better logo than the current one, and wants to change it. Thats not working. A brand should be stable... and it also costs a lot of effort every time to make polls and so on... I think this energy can be used better... to avoid further conflicts with the branding I suggest to satisfy people with a planned rebranding after 1 year running blockchain. Of course with the option, to keep the old one in the polls :-) +1, good plan. The current logo/branding is OK, and probably could be improved, but isn't a priority. If NEM works, branding won't be all that important in the beginning, and if it doesn't work, eagles won't help.

...and scratchy bog-roll, too, not like the delicious silken bum wipes that the Party bosses delegates get.

Our solution for PR issues *.....cut stuff*
The general principle of this PR appointment is to empower the Spokesman to exclusively represent the Core Developers in terms of publicity and to be the only outlet in terms of information disclosure. In this connection, the Spokesman will be publishing detailed PR guidelines from time to time for the parties involved to follow. Below sets out some of them and more will come:
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should neither propose any drastic changes to Bitshares nor speak of their ideas thereof on the forum until extensive research has been done properly, a firm resolution among the Core Developers has been made and the Spokesman grants clearance to the release of that proposal.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should make no comment on any subject on the forum unless approved by and posted through the Spokesman. Bug reports and their discussion should take place on github.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should not disclose sensitive information of potential partnerships, collaborations or arrangement with any other organization unless approved by and communicated through the Spokesman.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should not air their internal discussions or debates on any open issue until all the underlying facts are ascertained, a well-founded conclusion has been drawn, and the Spokesman grants clearance to that disclosure.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should never comment on any other crypto-currency or project on the forum unless approved by and posted through the Spokesman.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should not answer any question regarding Bitshares’ development or prospect or heed any request to predict anything about Bitshares or give forward-looking comments unless the relevant questions or requests are directed by the Spokesman to the Core Developers and the answers of the Core Developers are approved by and communicated through the Spokesman.
Always keep in mind that anything a Core Developer may say, no matter in the capacity of a Core Developer or a community member, will have potential impact on the market. It’s hard, if not impossible, to cure the damage that could caused.
I cannot f**king believe that someone has managed to come up with this BS, and I cannot believe that any crypto-community would accept this lying down (like good dogs...) This is pure centralised corporatism.

Probably inspired by the Bitcoin MIT project, and a really good idea for (almost) any digital currency. This sort of 'crypto in the classroom' project is good for everyone: doesn't matter if it's Bitcoin, NXT or BitShares, this is a great way to get people into the concepts of crypto-currency. +1 to Salsa!

Meh....I like the little black window. But it totally freaks out some non-nerd people, so it has to be kicked out if we want user-friendly NXT I think the mainstream now makes the association of command line = evil hackerz automatically.

Demz not very happy. Good news for XCP, though. I'm going to assume that the previous voting system wasn't blockchain-based, so I see this as a positive development for 2nd gen crypto and the further use of blockchain technology. Voting is a perfect use for the blockchain, so kudos to the BTC Foundation for taking this step. Expect more voting on blockchains coming up soon.....could in fact be one of the 'killer apps' for blockchain tech. Obviously, the BTC Foundation should have used NXT, if they wanted it to actually work properly (sorry, XCP, couldn't help myself) but then I think the ginger lad would have had a complete heart attack.

Ah-ha....and I thought I was having sync issues with my shiny new BTM wallet. Just to check: what is the last processed block that you guys are seeing? I'm on 46553, which was 10 hours ago.

@eldes:
This thread has been dead for 14 months........don't dig up zombies unless there are absolutely no more recent threads about whatever you want to post. Please.

I just logged into BTER....and it's the same story: I can see NXT, USD and CNY balances, but can't make withdrawals (at least for NXT, don't have any CNY/USD there) All my other alts on BTER are *pfffff, gone* so far. No-one in the NXT community has had any contact from BTER during this, afaik, which is not a good sign. Their last Tweet, from yesterday: https://twitter.com/btercom/status/569695283530969089"Thanks guys for your help. We keep working on it." great.....

Yeah, CfA has an undeniable point lurking in there: crypto is still too damn complicated for the average Joe Six-Pack, too complex and fiddly for Melissa Marketing-Manager and too time consuming for Larry Lawyer. Only a small % of the world has the skills and is prepared to spend time on setting up clients and downloading blockchains, and that's us. So, the only way to get mainstream adoption is going to be by building useful stuff on top of the blockchain that everyone can use. The future of the crypto experience for most people will be simple-looking, intuitive apps with all of the complexity hidden safely underneath. [shillmode]NXT is designed from the ground up to be a modular system that allows users to build their own projects on top of the NXT core and blockchain, and it is these projects that will drive NXT mainstream adoption, not the cool features that appeal to crypto-nerds. [/shillmode]
