Nice to see you here, mate, SecureAE is a brilliant idea IMHO.

How are your dancing and fishing skillz, btw?
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggestions to prevent scammers launch new shitcoins on: August 07, 2014, 10:17:21 AM
Problem is that it's going to de difficult to stop people exercising their right, as free agents, to do whatever the fuck they like, including launching scamcoins.
Crypto was intended to bring us freedom from regulation, not just add more rules.

Having said that, the OP (and Spoetnik) have a legitimate point.

My suggestion would be that we flip the issue: don't try to kill/ban/prevent scamcoins, but instead encourage real effort to create genuine value in crypto.

So: how to do this?
The only vague idea I can come up with would be the creation of a 'Crypto Association/Foundation/Group':
Representatives from the top 20 cryptos come together, establish a voluntary code of practice, and then create an approved list of crypto's that are *probably* not scams, to give newbies a guide as to what is worth investing in.

If the stream of newbie investors with money to burn can be diverted into relatively legitimate cryptos, the rewards for scamming will be reduced and hopefully we'll see less dodgy shit around here.

And: a 'Crypto Association/Whatever' could also be used to promote the interests of crypto in general, for example by publicity campaigns aimed at the mainstream investor or businesses.

Cool....anyone got any actual evidence on this, apart from Sergeys mad dance and fishing skillz?

Much "Yay" for CCEDK and Ronny, and don't forget that there is a small prize available for NXT traders on CCEDK:

Party Time at CCEDK - 5000 NXT giveaway has been extended!

As part of the celebrations around the launch of NXT on CCEDK, we are giving away 5000 NXT to one lucky trader on CCEDK.
The period for this promotion has been extended for two weeks, givng all accounts that have traded at least 1000 NXT on the CCEDK platform up until midnight GMT 15th August the cance to enter into a prize draw for 5000 NXT.
All trading accounts are eligible, and you don't have to do anything apart from trade some NXT, all accounts that reach the minimum trade amount will be automatically entered into the competition. So lets get trading...!
1167  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: i want to give 100 BTC to one user on bitcointalk. tell me why it is U. on: August 04, 2014, 08:52:47 AM
I may stop being EvilDave and change my handle to FriendlyDave.

maybe.....

If this is legit, split the 100 BTC up into smaller amounts and spread it around a bit more: 10 people getting 10 BTC will increase the amount of happy in the world much more than one guy with 100....even if that guy is me.
1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A question about crypto-currencies from a 12 year old on: August 03, 2014, 09:39:24 PM

I as well, OP is probably doing this just for "fun" to see what kind of reactions he'd get from pretending to be a 12 year old with a large array of vocabulary and understanding. He's obviously not 12.

My thoughts exactly.

A real 12 year old would be more concerned with playing conkers, Minecraft and sniffing girls' bike seats.

Old farts tend to forget that kids are just as smart as us ancient geezers, it's just life experience that they lack.

My advice is:
Never trust anyone over 16.
Buy BTC, you probably won't regret it.
Subscribe to every single freebie you can find.
There is no such thing as a free lunch.
Do drugs. They are fun.
Don't do all the drugs, though.
If you must smoke, wait until you're 18.
Sunscreen is good.
1169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: August 01, 2014, 11:01:42 AM
@ Marcelus: chill yr boots, mate.
I have a personal distrust of the current financial system, and I'm not amazingly happy to see yet another hyped up IPO, but I'm not condemning Ethereum.
It is a good idea, but from my point of view not such a quantum leap forward, seeing as NXT has been opening up the second generation crypto-currency feature set for several months now. However, Eth will be able to offer a complete scripting language, which will be a useful addition to NXTs modular approach.
So: good idea, yes, mindblowing, not really.

And again from my experience with NXT: if Eth is truly open-source, it will get cloned. Mercilessly and immediately, so you should be prepared for that. Hopefully, as with NXT, the momentum will remain with Eth itself, and not be siphoned off by cloners.
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: August 01, 2014, 10:17:11 AM
"Open source" or "planning to be open source" ?
Seems to be some confusion, anyone with a definitive answer?

Open source will mean that Eth will get cloned inside 2 seconds of release, which may not sit well with the guys who ponied up $5 million so far, but is a lot more in line with the ideals (such as they are) of the crypto scene.
1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for help launching a Crypto-Security aka Crypto-Stock on: July 31, 2014, 08:23:05 PM
Create an Asset in the NXT system, issue it via NXTs Asset exchange.
Plenty of businesses have used AE for similar crowdfunding. No need for any tech skills, so you can concentrate on asset promotion and your start-up, instead of worrying about launching yet another crypto-currency in a saturated market.

https://nxtforum.org/asset-exchange-general/

And heres a new start-up, which allows access to NXT AE from outside the NXT system:

Goldman Sachs isn't backing it but its a psychological condition these people have.

Just like when someone gets mugged or something and then they are too afraid to go out, or can not relax around strangers, their mind has been changed , they have be traumatized. they become irrational .

Same exact thing here, they hear Goldman Sachs and instead of thinking logically about it, they just start throwing their own shit screaming "Goldman Sachs!! Goldman Sachs!!!"

Because of the mistrust this institute has created. you are now getting people who instead of just seeing it and thinking "yeah they are a piece of shit"  and that's it.  they become irrational and concocted wild stories about stuff without any proof....just a paranoid delusional feeling brought on by the betrayal of such a huge institution

I just took the time to do some research, and the GS connection is clear, 2 of the core devs being ex-GS employees. If I was a full-on conspiracy theorist, that would be enough to start me foaming at the mouth.

As it is, since GS was/is one of the main players in the total clusterfuck/theft that is the current global financial crisis, there is just no way in Hell that I would trust Ethereum as far as I could throw it.

Eth may well be 'clean', might even be a success, but no matter how much I love some profit, they aren't getting my BTC.
(Better call Vitalik, let him know his salaries gonna be late)

Mintchips issues are very obvious, though:

Closed source, hardware reliant, centralised, controlled by a central bank.

Not really crypto as we know it, Jim.

I had the sheer pleasure of talking to PB for 30 minutes at Bitcoin2014 in Amsterdam.....he's a very smart cookie with a serious hatred of the sheer greed, stupidity and incompetence that riddles our current financial system.

Check out his keynote speech, its long but it's worth the time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkf04kQw1YU

I gotta point out that PB is not purely a BTC advocate, but is for crypto in general, even NXT  Grin
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: July 31, 2014, 03:42:13 PM

Which makes the company currently worth $5,544,000 USD.

Ridiculous.

Why is it ridiculous?

Will you pay 5m USD for buying thin air?

 Roll Eyes

Thin air, backed by Goldman Sachs. That makes it totally trustworthy....... Roll Eyes

Whatever happened to the idea that crypto would liberate us from the greed and incompetence of Wall St?

Look I used to be an investor in NXT, until I realized how skewed it is for smaller investors without hundreds of thousands of NXT.

I left NXT because it is a manipulated market by those at the top.

NXT is pumped when one of the big whales wants to cash out big. People seem to fall for these tactics.

That's what happened when NEM was listed, some whale decided to pump the price so they could hedge the profits.

Simple market manipulation, that is all.

Now let's get back to EXO discussion.

So what you're saying is that the NXT community organises, for example, release of the AE or attendance at a conference solely to pump the price to allow a whale to cash out? Yeah, that sounds sensible.

Back on topic: as a NFD stakeholder, I say lets list EXOstake on the AE and see what actually happens.
Will NFD tank ? Will it rise? Lets find out.....
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PoS+PoW] eXocoin [EXO]-gen 2.0- dev. from scratch! Give-Away | Open Beta on: July 30, 2014, 06:34:52 PM
Seriously,a lot of you don't seem to make such a simple connection with NXT price and the release of NEM tokens.

It is really really really really obvious.

Evidence?
Theres a lot more going on with NXT than just NEMstake, so lets see some proof.

Or an experiment:

"Oh look EXO in on the NXT AE, let's buy NXT!"  NXT price goes up. (Just like NEM)

This is pure myth by Nemsters. Nxt prices went up as AE was launched, got boost in other ways, like attendances in bitcoin conference, payexpo. There is no proof Nxt prices went up due to Nem

Have you ever tought to release the token on NFD asset exchange? So you dont support NXT, and NFD has it really deserves to trade a significant Coin like EXO on their asset exchange!

Lets see what effect listing EXO on NFD AE has......get in touch with the NFD boys, and go for it.
