1241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 17, 2014, 08:56:07 AM
ok. If anyone didn't notice the last press release, then this one was more about Txt Coins now, but also about the whole cooperation with Nxt, Maxcoin, Startcoin and Txtcoin: http://www.coinssource.com/nxt-txtcoins-and-the-global-mobile-virtual-network-operator-mvno/ - it was already retweeted to cca 250,000 people

Great that we're getting the exposure, but this PR was littered with mistakes. A couple of sentences didn't make sense at all. I know the standard of writing in crypto is pretty bad, but this is part of our brand and doesn't do NXT's 'smart people' positioning any favours. Can we make sure the writer at least gets a proofread next time?

Yep....this press release was a Lee/TXT4Coins effort and, tbh, it needs a re-write. I'll chase Lee down and ask him to put his PR thru more proof-reading.
I also made a mistake with the Coinomat press release......corrected the bit about purchasing NXT on your credit card.
Still lots of good news, though.

Anyone want to explain to me why Ripple is rising, or is it purely because they got a real aristocrat on board?
Number 4 sucks....maybe we need to ask a random Baron to join NXT.

I'm writing in regards to reports that the Dutch Openbaar Ministerie now has the power to legally confiscate bitcoins, and was hoping you'd care to comment on this development. Here's a link to the story from DutchNews.nl:
http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2014/07/dutch_prosecutors_now_have_pow.php

en hier is hetzelfde verhaaal in NLands:

CoinDesk wou even de standpunten horen van NL Bitcoiners, dus als je iets te zeggen hebt, ga je gang........of PM me.

Dudes!

Pretty sure this has aready been posted, but it's a great piece of news, so no harm in re-posting it.

Anyone with the urge to invest in or know more about the Secure AE project:

And, just in case any f**ker may have doubts about my position:
I'm fully on board with NEM as a stakeholder/investor, have been since the very beginning but NXT is my #1 project.

Edit: XNM is my choice, though XNEM is definitely cooler.

Meanwhile, back in good news for NXT world:

Coinomat just went live with NXT trading !

If you want in, NXT can be bought thru OKpay, EGOpay and PerfectMoney...
https://coinomat.com/#EGOPAY/NXT
And if you have a credit card and some NXT you need to cash out, check out:
https://coinomat.com/#NXT/VISAMASTER

And heres a little press release on the subject:

Quote
Coinomat announces first ever NXT → bank card services

Instant cryptocurrency and e-currency gateway service Coinomat.com is announcing the integration of NXT into their brokering platform. As well as providing a brand new NXT-to-fiat pathway, Coinomat will provide instant conversion facilities between NXT and a range of other popular cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Litecoin and Peercoin, plus Perfect Money, EgoPay and OKpay e-currencies.

Paying with NXT
Of special interest is the service which allows customers to send NXT to any Visa or Mastercard worldwide, opening a huge new market for NXT. Alongside Danish exchange CCEDK’s addition of NXT, the second generation cryptocurrency – currently rated #4 by market cap – will now enjoy full fiat >< NXT services. This is a vital step in ‘unpegging’ NXT from Bitcoin, allowing it to thrive on its own terms: until now, NXT-to-fiat conversion has always required Bitcoin exchange as an intermediate stage.

Coinomat’s bank card transfer is carried out within two business days, and all Mastercard and Visa cards are supported. All crypto exchanges to and from NXT are carried out instantly, subject to the blockchain confirmation times of the cryptocurrencies involved in the transaction. This is also the first service of its kind available for NXT.

Coinomat: using crypto in the real world
Coinomat.com was founded at the end of 2013 with the aim of providing a way to transact between various cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies as an alternative to the traditional open market exchange model. Coinomat targets long-term cryptocurrency holders, rather than speculative traders. The company has already launched a successful IPO on the NXT Asset Exchange (Asset id: 6220108297598959542).

‘We’re thrilled that NXT is partnering with such a well-established platform,’ comments Dan Kindly, NXT marketing associate. ‘Coinomat’s global reach and understanding of the crypto landscape makes them the perfect partner to bring the benefits of NXT’s innovation and versatility to a whole new group of users.’

There will be more a lot more good news coming up soon, stay tuned.

1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Deathblow to Proof of Stake on: July 15, 2014, 05:09:20 PM
also I think we need a lot of time to get to pure PoS as mainstream
maybe 5-10 years months

Fixed that for ya.....NXT is rolling up hard.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Deathblow to Proof of Stake on: July 15, 2014, 08:41:28 AM
because in proof of stake coins, there is a master node responsible for checkpointing and alerts.

So centralized security for a "decentralized" network?

NXT doesn't have centralized checkpoints.
Other PoS (Peercoin?) may have those.
A distinction has to be made here if you want to stay objective.

Yup, no stinking master nodes for us......

TS:
Asset exchange is last months news, mate.
You'll need some new FUD for the MultiGateway and Digital Goods Store soon, so I suggest you start getting some ready.

And can I have some FUD on this please:
http://www.coinssource.com/nxt-txtcoins-and-the-global-mobile-virtual-network-operator-mvno/

NxT is teaming up with Max Coin?  Maybe a strategic partnership with Maza Coin is also in order.   Cheesy

Nice work, TS, it's almost as if you can't actually read.

Anyhow, I've had it with you. I'm beginning to think that you're actually causing more damage to NEM than you are to NXT, but either way, you are trying to fuck up two of my investments.

Do you realise that your constant attacks on NXT are only pissing off the community that gave birth to NEM, the community that has supported NEM since its start, the community that many NEM stakeholders also belong to, and the community that should be a natural ally for NEM?
You're either very short-sighted or you have a deeper agenda in trying to destroy the relationship between NXT and NEM.

1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Developer JGarzik reiterates, upgradable nature of bitcoin! Challenges Ethereum! on: July 15, 2014, 02:24:35 AM
The transaction format, the block format, script operations are all designed to be upgradeable. The bitcoin protocol is not locked in stone, as some claim.

BIP 16 (P2SH) demonstrated a "soft fork" network upgrade: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0016.mediawiki

BIP 34 demonstrated a majority-lock-in block format change, exercising a decentralized upgrade process: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0034.mediawiki

Bitcoin developers may let the ecosystem design interesting new features (hello, Ethereum!) and then incorporate them into bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a living, growing, changing thing.

That line right there, is extremely important. It means if an alt-coin were to design something "innovative" and it's using the Bitcoin codebase, Bitcoin can simply incorporate whatever features that alt-coin has, into Bitcoin via copy/paste, rendering said alt-coin, useless.

GO BITCOIN!!

Amazing, I'm about to +1 darkota.....

Good post. I spent a very boring hour arguing this point to a Mastercoin rep a couple of months ago.
Any currency built by a third party, but utilising the BTC blockchain, is building their business on quicksand.
If the added features are any good, they will get folded into Bitcoin itself, leaving the original developers (and investors) standing out in the cold.

Even if Bitcoin doesnt do this, there is always a good chance that future changes in Bitcoin (blockchain pruning, for example) will break other systems that rely on the blockchain. Do you think Bitcoin will take the wishes of outside, competing currencies into account when they implement changes?

1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALTCOIN of the FUTURE!! on: July 15, 2014, 01:54:51 AM
Noblecoin

I like Noblecoin. It seems like a really genuine project with not too much BS or scammers.

(and NXT might be worth a go as well)
1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else have a feeling NXT is about to explode? on: July 15, 2014, 01:51:16 AM
Yep...poor Max.

On the NXT take-off.....the problem with most crypto's is that they are completely useless, except as an instrument for speculation.
There are only a handful of cryptos that actually have useful features.
NXT is working very hard on building up a complete financial eco-system, and a lot of that work is going to start paying off in the next few weeks as features and projects come to maturity and go live. AE was just the start, there's a hell of a lot to come yet.

1255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 15, 2014, 01:38:00 AM
And another piece of interesting NXT news:

http://www.maxkeiser.com/2014/07/nxtmax-coin-startcoin-and-txtcoinsnow-and-the-global-mobile-virtual-network-operator-mvno/

Get 'em while they're still cheap, guys.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Deathblow to Proof of Stake on: July 15, 2014, 01:33:00 AM
just throwing this in here: nxt multigateway

Yes, especially with recent Klee episode. Sounds like very smart for people to send bitcoins to people that never ran currency exchange.

You obviously don't get the difference between an exchange and a gateway: it is not possible to store customer funds on the gateway, it is purely a transfer/trading platform.
No funds on the gateway, no chance of a hack and loss scenario, no nasty exchange admins running away with your hard-earned BTC (or whatever)
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT VS NEM on: July 15, 2014, 01:25:50 AM
+1 to nutidah......TS is starting to be a joke, even to the NEM community.

Heres some reading for him:

1258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else have a feeling NXT is about to explode? on: July 15, 2014, 01:17:58 AM
I will buy NXT and then buy Facebook with it on asset exchange. I am amazed how such obscure currency managed to land such big company to get listed. Will I get rich with it? We will see, I hope Mark keeps with doing good job!

Don't. You obviously don't understand what a decentralized exchange is. Stay away from it.

Oh man, I had to LOL when I read this.

Yeah, even I suspect that the Facebook asset might be a little......dodgy, shall we say. He's a naughty lad, that Zuckerberg. Grin

Anyway, back to my dedicated (to the point of annoying) NXT promotion:

Hmmm...did someone mention NXT exploding?

Wheres Atoni gone ? I was just getting warmed up.....

Oh, well, in his absence:

Check them out, make up your own minds about NXT.
We are going to the moon. Really.....

1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else have a feeling NXT is about to explode? on: July 14, 2014, 10:01:38 PM

Oh, its EvilDave again, person that keeps saying that Nxt is fastest crypto out there........before I do the calculation again, I must tell you that you should make your own asset on Nxt AE named Evil666Dave and you will probably get rich Smiley

Lets calculate, it takes 10 confirmations for NXT to be transfered. That is at 1,7 minute per block 17 minutes (for full confirmation it takes  1 day but I will not calculate with that to make it look better on NXT). Ripple takes 5 seconds. 5 seconds is 12 times less then 1 minute so 12*17 minutes = 204 times. So Ripple is at least 204 times faster then NXT so stop spreading lies, its easy for anyone to see through it.

Can I see that quote from me where i claim that NXT is faster than Ripple ?
NXT transfers are on your wallet almost immediately, spendable within 10 confirmations, and start forging after 1440. Simple.

So 10 confirmations is 17 minutes.....whats your point? You called me a blatant lier for telling ripple is 150 times faster
No, I called the claim "complete bollocks", but I've called you out on so many other lies, we'll let that stand.

And.....are you telling me that currency exchange will not have centralized wallets? rofl
Yeah, it's not an exchange...it's a gateway. Big difference.
You still telling people btc is not stored in a wallet? Sounds interesting how far nxt people are ready to go lol
3rd time round...its a gateway. Customers will not/can not store any funds on the gateway.

And....with straight face you actually say that digital goods store will not have over 99% assets listed as scams? rofl
For the second time: Assets on the Asset Exchange, actual stuff (goods) on the Digital Goods Store.
So, asset that doesnt do nothing, and digital goods that dont get delivered (or are in copyright protection default)...again what are you trying to say?
Asset Exchange is a platform.....if you take a look at BitcoinTalk as a whole, how many projects are scams? Does this therefore mean that all of BTT is a scam?
There are dodgy assets on the AE, but there are a lot of very serious projects as well. Do your due diligence before you buy in.
Take al ook here for the good ones:https://nxtforum.org/nxt-projects/

Well, its enough if sane person looks at Nxter AE and see how many of them is not scam Smiley
Could you find  a sane person to take a look, then?
Get them to look at: https://trade.secureae.com/#12465186738101000735
How about NXTVestmen, or SuperPonzi? LOL
NXTvestmen I got no idea about, thought SuperPonzi was a Ponzi game.

Italics are mine, dumb is all from Atoni.
[/quote]
Your personal attacks on me instead of telling facts tell me exactly at which development level you are. But I can understand, if you bought nxters at 9 cents you have every reason to lie to people about it. (although I dont approve such behavior)

What personal attacks? Called you dumb, because you seem to have some issues with reading/comprehending text. Thats almost friendly for a BTT debate.
And you do keep saying 'nxters' when referring to the currency NXT, which is......strange.
Didn't buy in at 9 cents, btw, but even if i had, I wouldn't be all that worried.
I'm expectng NXT to hit about $0.50 to $1 before the end of the year.

Red is from me, italics are from.....well let the public decide, EvilDave
