lol...really. You're missing the central point here: we've explained it to you about a zillion times, but here goes one more time: NXT is an innovative, groundbreaking system that has changed the face of crypto as you know it: Proof of Stake, IPO, Asset Exchanges, DAC, smart contracts, cross-chain trading, decentralised marketplaces: NXT has helped pioneer all of it. And you can buy stuff with it.......did i mention the solid open-source software and extensive network infrastructure? Look at www.coinmarketcap.com: NXT at #5, $28.5 million cap. Then we have the NXT-based assets: Nxttycoin at #24, $1.7 million cap NEMstake at #47, $0.6 million cap jl777hodl at #48, $0.6 million cap Fuzon at #88, $0.15 milllion cap Then add in the NXT clones/copies: Crypti, Qora, Bilshares ( ) FIMKrypto, NAS, NFD, NTX.....and NEM. So, add in a serious, active community, a good dev team and some hard work, and you have NXT. Like it or not, we're here for the long term, and we've proved that again and again.

Hmmm.....I'm still on the fence with BitShares, mostly because I smell a big rat with the recent price rise.
2nd generation feature set looks interesting, tech looks OK, community and devs seem real, but I'm still just not seeing a reason for this surge. Oh, well, we'll see how it plays out........
Just tried looking for a block explorer, does one exist for BTSX yet?

My take is thats its a swift scam hoping to cash in on BitShares rise...... but the devs couldn't actually clone BitShares code base (is it open source?) so just used an outdated NXT version instead.
I vote for avoid......
(the funniest bit is for Dutch/Flemish/Afrikaans speakers: bil means butt, so I'm reading Bilshares as Buttshares from now on....)

What the hell is bilshares??? There is almost none info on official site.
Will there be new fad based on putting "shares" on your scamcoin?
Looks like a quick cash in scam based on Bitshares....only to be expected, sadly. The devs are oviously hoping that people buy in before they notice that it isn't actually BitShares. Even sadder...the wallet appears to be a straight NXT 1.1.6 copy, so it's just an outdated NXT clone and not based on BitShares code at all. (Disclaimer: I havent actually d/led the wallet...I'm way too paranoid for that) I'll give this an 'avoid like the plague' rating. Be interesting to see where the trade volume is coming from.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Monero&Bitcoin,NXT & co will fail and NEM will overtake

I find it pathetic to compare something *existing* to vaporware; reminds me of Duke Nukem Forever.
I've got this idea for a cryptocurrency. It's only an idea, of course, but it's going to overtake Bitcoin. Please post your great idea. Digital proof-of-money ownership protocol backed up by decentralised gold-based micro-transactions on a cloud-based peer-to-peer networked Atari. Kewl !! Will it run on my solar-powered Rasp-Pi ?

i know what it means which is why i made a point of pointing that out in my last reply. I asked what it was that i said you think is hyperbole, as in what specific part ? you didn't answer..
the scene is a joke and everyone knows it.. so ya i guess that would be your hyperbole (generally speaking)
..or it's just the truth ?
The alt-coin scene is.....er...interesting, to say the least, but to condemn all alt-coins regardless is wrong, so i'm blue pencilling these bits as hyperbolic: effectively a ghost town with massive crashes in value in ALL Altcoins. which is why Altcoins are worthlessYou're still 95 % right, though. But there are a few genuine initiatives out there to create a real alternative to Bitcoin, and that may well bring something good to the world. Obviously, you can guess where i'm putting my money, but there are other relatively scam-free alt-coins...... This is probably not one of them, though: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bilshares/

Now, this is the thread that has finally caused my facepalm tanks to run dry...... 2 of the most rabid anti-NXT trolls on BTT, in perfect, senseless harmony. Just for a laugh: TaunGawk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=370078;sa=showPostsC-f-A: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=300079;sa=showPostsI'm beginning to think that these 2 might be part of some long term performance art project. Anyhow, strangely enough, NXT is actually a viable (and relatively sane) crypto currency, with a proven tech base, good dev team, great community, awesome features, and a thriving eco-system built on NXT technology. Heres a few highlights: http://nxt.org/https://nxtforum.org/index.phphttps://nxtblocks.info/#section/homehttps://trade.secureae.com/#4551058913252105307http://www.enterstageright.com/archive/articles/0814/cryptocurrpbterjob.htmhttp://nxter.org/isle-of-man-embraces-nxt/http://multigateway.org/So, if anyone wants to know why NXT investors are so damned happy all the time, come on over to www.nxtforum.org.

Yay! @ TaunGawk! 11 post newbie insights ! You make a newbie/sockpuppet account, then make like an expert on everything thats happened in NXT over the last 8 months ? Sorry for not taking you seriously, but I'm not taking you seriously. Oh ok your only argument against NxT's obvious lack of popularity making it a very bad choice is my post count or account status? This is an amazingly weak argument and doesn't make you look very credible. NXT's obvious lack of popularity....yeah, which is why a handful of trolls (or maybe just one very busy troll) spend much of their working day posting anti-NXT threads on this forum. If NXT is so unpopular...why the attacks? Why do you hide behind an obvious sockpuppet? Hello sockpuppet (man up) 1. "Low volume": check out http://multigateway.org/ and lots of hodlers 2. "Not a good investment": time will tell, certainly no pump and dump coin 3. "will not buy": good, more coins for smarter other people 4. "It's getting a little annoying": yes you are Farewell I see NxT is still in the infant stage where every argument is replied with the usual "you are a sockpuppet" babbling. 1. Very low volume is a fact and multigateway has nothing to do with NxT as the 'currency/asset' NxT itself. This is a trick to make trading of other altcoins appear as NxT volume, in other words a way of manipulation. Do you seriously think we can't see through this trick? Multigateway trading is not included in NXT trade volumes on CMC, you know that. So there is no trick. 2. NxT has been the epitome of pump and dump coin as anyone can clearly see by analysing the charts, how idiotic of you to mention this as an argument for NxT. NxT stakeholders themselves obviously enjoy pumping and dumping more than probably anyone else. http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nxt/ see 365 days. So, where's your analysis? This chart is simply the history of NXT: NXT brings great stuff to the market, people invest, price rises, people sell, price slides, NXT brings more great stuff, price rises.....repeat. NXT is ratcheting up: a big jump each time, with a slow slide to a new stable high. This cycle will continue for a while, as it has with BTC, LItecoin, every other serious crypto.....etc.
3. Smart people certainly don't buy NxT given its price manipulation and stakeholder dumping fest. Now would be the most idiotic time to invest in this as there's a hacker holding 8M of the coins who can easily manipulate the entire price at any given time. A hacker who likes NXT, apparently, so thats cool. The stakeholders are also not going to dump NXT into oblivion, thats been proved time and time again. Instead, many of NXT big stakeholders are bankrolling NXT projects and businesses. They have a real stake in NXT, and do their best to help NXT development.
4. I don't care whether you think I'm annoying or not. NxT is not popular (to put it very politely) on this forum and the general consesus clearly is on my side: NxT's baseless marketing is very annoying. NXT is more popular than you pretend, sockpuppet dude. And NXT doesn't have the worlds best marketing, but we do like to reply to threads called : "R.I.P. NXT" We're funny like that. Green bits is mines....
