Where do i send my BTC?

1282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE! Strong Buy. on: July 12, 2014, 07:47:34 PM
No, its not. This is a bad move by anyones standards. The guy was a scammer even before he got into crypto.......and he has a silly name.
1283  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 12, 2014, 07:40:45 PM
Perhaps another approach:

Consider offering amnesty and a promise to call off the search in exchange for the safe return of your funds while at the same time increasing the bounty to the full 1100 and something bitcoins that were stolen should he fail to comply with the aforementioned.

That really will bring the bad guys out of the woodwork.....the hacker may also want to think about how the advance of technology is going to make locating assholes like him easier over the next few years.
He may be able to hide today, but in a year or 2, will he still be able to?
He can't cash out to a bank account and he cant buy anything useful with the BTC without leaving clues to his irl identity,  so all he has is a pile of semi-useless BTC and a  massive manhunt on his ass. The current 500 BTC bounty is very motivating and provides more than enough cash to finance some very effective action, no matter where in the world the thief might be.  Klee just has to keep up the pressure and wait for the mistake.

Hope the thieving dipshit is having fun right now.......because it isn't going to last.
1284  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 12, 2014, 05:28:36 PM
Looks to me like the hackers only realistic option is to return the BTC.

Sooner or later, he/she/it is going to make a mistake and reveal their identity. When that happens, they are going to become a target for a lot of very unfriendly people.
Don't know about the hacker, but I couldn't live my life looking over my shoulder for bad guys 24/7.  Settling with Klee to return most of the BTC seems like a much safer option.....
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bter.com froze 3129000 NXT and need you help to return to the owner on: July 11, 2014, 12:29:57 PM
I'd like to add my weight to this....I've been following the developments on the theft and I can vouch for both Damelon and Klee.
Part of the stolen funds are actually NXT community funds, not purely Klees personal funds, he was acting as a treasurer for 2.8 million NXT for NXT's Infrastructure Committee, of which I am the spokesman.

Waiting for a few days to verify Klees identity is not a problem, and I'm sure that CfB will be along any moment now to add his piece.

I'd like to say that this is a very positive move from BTER, I already liked your exchange and now I'm even more impressed by this decision.

Thieves and scammers are a plague on crypto right now, and are one of the issues standing in the way of mass adoption for crypto.

Good one, guys!
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 11, 2014, 12:06:21 AM
How much more NXT is left to cash out by the hacker? I heard that Bter froze his account, though I suspect he will have other accounts and other balances. One who takes the trouble of getting hold of all these will not be stupid enough to just dump them all at once through 1 account.

take a look at this, BTERs trading for the last 24 hours:

Looks like around 3 million got dumped.

1288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The $1000 Stake Challenge! on: July 10, 2014, 01:55:35 AM
Just for a laugh, and for a bit of sneaky NXT promotion.....I've just got my dirty little paws on another $1000 worth of NXT.
This translates to slightly over 21.000 NXT, but I'll call it an even 20,000, just to give the OP a little head start.....

Lets see where we all are in 6 months time.  Cool

Oh, yeah. Keep some BTC, whatever else ya do. BTC is gonna be a good bet for a long time to come ,and like tokyoghetto sez...trading back and forth on the dips is a good way to maximise your profits.

I'm not going to trade my 20,000 NXT, though, just let it sit and grow fat........

Anyone else want to play?

1291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The end of Mintpal - Which exchange will be the new leader? on: July 09, 2014, 08:49:18 PM
Adding URO I can sort of understand.  I'm almost definitely sure it is a scam.  However yesterday I was completely sure it was a scam.  They're either really selling UREA or they're running the most sophisticated altcoin scam yet complete with actual business addresses, real people, etc.  A good scam would have that stuff but Mintpal is thinking: a) if this is real, it is the new Bitcoin and we'll own it b) the scammers are going to pump URO up to $300.00 dollars before fading and we'll get all of those juicy transaction fees up until the end.

URO just makes me think of the well-known British English phrase: taking the piss
1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][NXTvestment] invest in promising enterprises, new projects and assets! on: July 09, 2014, 05:32:28 PM
Definitely dodgy as fuck....could this be yet another bm scam?
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 08, 2014, 01:15:33 PM
NxtBridge - a wrapper for Nxt to make it as easy to integrate into exchanges as any bitcoind fork - has gone into alpha/beta (I'm not sure  Grin)

Bridge is ready for crossing. Might be a bit creaky as it is now, needs some user input.

checkout at:

git clone https://github.com/l8orre/nxtBridge

However, since bitcoind API, and especially the 'accounts' feature of the 'wallet' is a big pile of cracked crockery,
individual exchanges may have to adapt some of the returned values to slightly different formats- s.t. that can be done easily, but not without knowing the specs of what is actually needed.

Note the we have designed these specs by pure conjecture as to what exactly might be convenient for the exchanges and thus have constructed these bitcoind- 'CONGRUENT' api returns.
So a complete and smooth 'as-is' integration should not be expected, but as said, adjustments can easily be made now.

The NXTbridge is about to be tested out in an exchange environment, it looks as if www.ccedk.com will be the first NXTbridge user, giving NXT access to another NXT<>fiat gateway. Much good news....

And now the important bit: we need to plan and execute a little PR campaign for CCEDK to spread the word about both them and NXT.
Anyone want to help out?
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any good IPOs going on? on: July 08, 2014, 01:06:33 PM
Can someone give me an explanation on why NXT is good?

What's with those photos on their site? Are those real NXT devs or just a bunch of stock photos of random people?

*SNIPPED*

the more interesting question is what do you think?

About the photos or NXT in general. I see that the photos were from an unofficial site.

This is the best explanation up on NXT I've read http://deadloch.com/nxt-explained/

It seems promising, but will it be supported or become a flash in the pan that is dropped when the new new thing comes along.

The "official" site of NXT is this http://www.nxt.org/

and i cannot see any photos like you are saying.

If the http://www.nxtcommunity.org/ is an unoffical site, then that clears it up. Thanks for the clarification.

Er, its already been mentioned, but NXT is seriously de-centralised and so pretty much all NXT sites can be seen as official.
This de-centralisation is one of the great strengths of NXT......it means that no-one in the NXT community is so important that they cannot be replaced.
One of the most common reasons for a currency to fail is that the core devs/community leaders either run off with your money, or turn out to be idiots, or stop supporting the currency and move on to the next get-rich-quick scheme. With NXT, this isn't a problem. The original dev for the NXT core code was replaced a long time ago, for example.

The pics on www.nxtcommunity.org are stock, but the plan is to replace the stock fotos with pictures of 'real' NXT users/investors.
I hope we can find some good-looking ones......

Lastly: NXT is open source. Has been for a very long time, since February/March as I remember. Where do you think all the NXT clones are getting the code from?
Here, probably: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/src

And just by way of a comparison: NXT was initially financed with 21 BTC, and has bootstrapped itself with internal financing (no outside investment) to where it is today. Now look at the insane amounts of BTC that certain IPO's are attracting......
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone pipe down.. i am the smart one here ! on: July 07, 2014, 07:17:41 PM
*Cut the stuff I agreed with*

PS:
NXT is a useless clone coin with a great "community" lol
It's like those late night talk shows when they suck they always go on about how great the band is..
NXT has the best house band in Crypto hahha

Clone of what ?
Even the most fervent NXT-hater knows that NXT was written from scatch in Java. Not a clone.
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Weekly SCAM ALERT - updated each monday via new posts on: July 07, 2014, 12:02:42 AM

*SNIP*

I probably wouldn't be much of a blogger if I sat here, whining about the current state of the market, and provided no suggestions for a solution.  I honestly haven't really given it too much thought, but right off the top of my head.....how about some type of council?  I guess it could be considered similar to the United Nations.....except more like a United Crypto-Currency Advancement League.  Basically start with the firsts.  Obviously Bitcoin would be extended a seat, being the first coin ever.  From there, you've got Litecoin......and so on, down the marketcap list.  Of course, I must make clear that not all scam-coins will be so transparent.  There will surely be genuinely deserving coins that are neither the first, nor highest marketcapped.  This is where the council kicks in.  Once an initial list of coins can be created......the council can, through some type of predetermined majority vote, extend a seat to any coin deemed worthy.  We'll also assume the council has the power to remove seats if they see fit.....also through a similar majority vote.

*SNIP* again.....

Whew...that was some serious reading. Worth it, though. +1 to the good DrG

I've recently been helping a few complete and utter noobs invest in BTC and alts, and this scene, to an outsider, is like the 4th circle of Hell, only less comprehensible.
I'm all in favour of a spot of anarchy, but if we ever want mainstream adoption of crypto.....we need to clean up our act a bit.

I kind of like the idea of the UCCAL, but the age-old problem crops up: Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?   (look it up.....)
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STOP THIS CHILDISH COIN BASHING FFS on: July 06, 2014, 11:14:37 PM
I know you want to protect your asset or what the fuck ever, but this is getting ridiculous! Hey OP isn't it time to put a damn sticky about this?

This place has become a damn troll fest, people screwing up others parade. How old are you guys anyway because it looks like the majority is a bunch of teenagers from 4chan.

+10....being into NXT tends to bring the trolls out of the woodwork, but I'm getting sick and tired of pointless FUD no matter who it's directed against.
You can't really improve your own coin/currency by bashing others anyhow, so unless you're a pro troll being paid to piss on someone elses parade, whats the point?
Better putting all that energy into something useful.....
1298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam paradox thoery = come learn and have a laugh. on: July 05, 2014, 10:09:39 PM
-

I'm jut hashing this out now so will refine it as i go but it is generally defined as :

The larger the proportional % of scam, is directly related to the lower % of real market participants.

so to explain that :

 - If say NXT Po$ mined 95% of all their units, then bid it up to a certain price.

-  now the 5% that got a free ride may sell out leaving them holding something the they totally 100% own.

-  this presents a paradox, because the "valuation" is high they will never have real market participants, because anyone that would invest a significant % of capital would look at all the market information.

-  and as the information in the available market knows they are a scam, if the price drops they will not have the "market cap" vector or "valuation" which is the only two vectors the scam is built on.

so its a hilarious paradox.

Its a hilarious paradox that even after having shit explained to you over and over again, you still seem to think that NXT has something to do with a Proof of Work premine.
Bagful of spanners is the phrase that springs to mind.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Weekly SCAM ALERT - updated each monday via new posts on: July 05, 2014, 03:58:17 PM
I never think someone will do this
thanks for your good effort and hard work
we must see update here, so we won't be scammed by shitcoin
too many shitcoin & scamcoin release everyday Sad

All these things came out in the last week or so? No wonder I've lost my will to keep track of what's going on.

flood concept.. they add so many that complaining is pointless.
the intention is to overwhelm..

edit:
add NXT & NEM too
why did you say NEM is scam coin too?

i can't recall why i don't like them both but i have a combo of reason why i think a coin is scammy'ish
one of them is IPO = scam period.
It's a premine or ipo of sorts i think so screw that crap.. it was simply not released fairly then.
NEM topic = https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650274.0

Come on...NEM was offered to the community for months, and something like 3000 people got to sign up for it.
You cant really call that an unfair distro., no matter how u feel about PoS.
How many miners get in on the first few minutes/blocks of new PoW coins?

same with NXT.. sorry but i don't care if they are popular if they are unfair by design then screw em.
And i should add that i have always been anti-premine but sometimes i have tolerated it and given guys a chance *IF they are small.
anything more than 1 or 2% ? screw that crap !

NXT isnt a premine. It's Proof of Stake.
Premine is a technique to rip off Proof of Work miners/community/investors, its not applicable to PoS systems at all.
And how is NXT 'unfair by design' ? Everyone gets the same ROI, just the bigger investors get bigger payouts like every other investment ever.
Spend $50,000 on ASICS, and you'll see a much bigger payout than the kid mining on his $250 GPU.

JPC for example had a small one and i could tell the guy was trying hard to give the premine away and
he DID use it to pay for a lot of services that would have otherwise taken longer or not materialized at all.
Although the guy may have dumped it on an exchange long ago i have no idea.. there was no Public ledger of any kind.

Anyway what ever lol
If people have a coin that they suspect is infected and it has a public link to the wallet or miner
you guys can PM me the link and i will try and check it out.. i have a lot of experience detecting malware.
I am a cracker and coder and i ran a PC repair business i started self employed for a decade.
and i have found first and had removed malware across the web including here and i don't think anyone can get a file past me.
Been almost 10 years since i get into the rootkit scene doing my homework and i have followed the malware trends too
most these days are coded in .net (stupid noobs that can't code)
My toolkit is monolithic.. IDA, Olly, Sandboxs etc etc.. been collecting my tools for eternity.

AND YES there has been infected wallets posted in here a many times ! From new wallet updates to the ANN launch binaries infected on day 1.. it happens !
And yes most are false positives.. because malware kits use legit code bundled with bad code so you really do need a guy who knows the difference.

Yeah, 17 positives in one file seems a bit FUDdy to me....no-one would bundle up so many payloads in one attack vector. Doesn't make sense.

So i don't pay any attention to the New ANN topics but if there is a public link people want me to check out just PM me the link please and the ANN topic link too.
I would never brand a file bad if i can't tel 100% either.. if i can't tell i will say so (this is laziness / if you dig enough you can tell lol)

FTFY...blue bits are mine.

@OP: +1, mate, I can't believe the horrors I'm seeing in this list...good work keeping up with this lot !
