1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET IPO - conducted by Poloniex on: August 30, 2014, 09:01:39 PM
Can anyone summarize what the OP said in 2 to 4 lines?

I can try:

Join all the coins together in one huge supernetwork.
Using NXT as the infrastructure, this will allow all NXT-based apps to function on all coins, and allow coins to utilise other systems features.
BTCD+Teleport, MGW, InstantDEX, for example......

This will be literally like inventing computer networking: we go from a system of separated blockchains to a system of linked blockchains.
BTW: Bloody Hell! This could be amazing. I'm off to get more BTCD in......and maybe some BBR, and some more NXT......

Much interested, James.
Have a feeling this is going to be massive....and I'm starting to subscribe to the advanced AI theory.
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Withdrawing NXT on Crypsy is broken since months // Support NEVER answer on: August 29, 2014, 11:38:08 PM
Just give them some time....I've had NXT withdrawals stuck for up to a week with Cryptsy, but they always showed up in the end.
Just keep hassling Support once a day, and your NXT will show up.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NxT] new dread pirate roberts ? NxTRoad blackmarketplace? on: August 29, 2014, 08:26:00 AM
I don't see why these NXT guys can't handle some criticism.. what do they have against all other coins ?
Hah, we've had plenty of practise on the criticism thing......and you can't generalise all NXT'ers as hating other coins.
Just doesnt work. We're all into crypto, not exclusively NXT. Its just that NXT is great.....

why is theirs so great ? they came along late to the game and wanted to make one too
Late? We've been here for almost a year, mate.
and now if you don't like their coin they hate you and mouth you off..
Ha....you mean: gently point out the error in your thinking.
how about some respect for all the coins that came out before their clone ?
they can't respect Quark ?
Show me the Quark hate from NXT....go on, lets see it. You're just making shit up here.
Quark went and made a new algo system what did NXT do ?
Made a new PoS algo system.  Grin  And all of the code. New, from scratch. No legacy code

sorry i can't have much respect for a "me too" coin released unfairly with a crowd who does not respect the coins that came before them !
You think NXT is so shit hot ? why ?
Jackpot Coin..... REAL innovation not dummy services tacked onto a scam coin pyramid scheme Wink
with a dev "working hard" at improving the CURRENCY ..NOT TRYING TO "add value"

and that last guy said it all and proved my point.. "the devs are working hard to make sure NXT has value"
And here i thought their goal was to make a "good currency" ?
oh how foolish i have been  Roll Eyes
'add value' vs 'good currency' vs 'working hard'...who cares. Its the same thing. Improve shit.

jealous i didn't get in on the ground floor ?
Funny that guy just said that directed towards me in defense of this shit coin LOL
Because that is the ONLY reason what so ever why NXT exists in the first place !
So these bag holders can get in on the "ground floor" way back so they can dump on victims later Roll Eyes
the whole currency is just an inconvenient gimmick they must maintain and they slip up when they say shit like that and their true intentions become apparent !
pump and dump coin with a bad scammy distribution # 780
Only got time for a swift eyeball roll now.... Roll Eyes
The problem is, we see you spreading the most astonishing FUD about NXT, so people look for your hidden agenda. You put a lot of work into a crypto that you dont like or hold, there has to be a reason. There are so many scams out there and yet you waste your time attacking NXT: one of the least scammy cryptos. Wierd.....

Green from me....
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I got Ponzi'd at Bitcointalk ! on: August 29, 2014, 08:05:30 AM
i seen at coindesk.....*snip*

Oh and EvilDave
THAT i just said is the difference between me and others here.. i am not leading a company or "foundation" etc
i am an end user trying to figure out what digital currency to use in a sea of 1,000 coins and 350,000 forum accounts.
It's my job to pick them apart and look for flaws or i am not being a savvy Pyramid scheme investor Wink
And isn't that what all this is about ? Ponzi scheme cloning for "fun and profit" ?

Either you make a ponzi scheme or you support one and i criticism it then all of a sudden Spoetnik is by default a horrendous monster that must be stopped !
Better raise a bounty or fly to my house to beat me as because your rich as one loser mass coin cloner (Carpet Cleaner) told me before LOL

And this is why i occasionally agree with you, S.
But not on NXT. Nope.....
I spent a lot of time looking for a real longterm project that I could actually support and invest in without lying, ripping people off or churning out clone after clone: NXT was pretty much the best option, and is still the best option as far as i can see......(though Counterparty may have a good thing going)

I'm not going to say that NXT is perfect, but it is still one of the closest things I've seen to Satoshi Ns vision of a crypto-currency:
Open, de-centralised, secure, independent....
Remember when crypto was going to free us from banks and corporate scams ?

And on the leader thing: NXT doesnt have no steenking leaders. Not me, not any one.
We do have a lot of guys who step up and work hard for NXT, and we surely have a lot of committees......but no leader.

Check my sig: No gods, no kings......just NXT

1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NxT] new dread pirate roberts ? NxTRoad blackmarketplace? on: August 29, 2014, 01:19:13 AM
Correcting your errors was on-topic, least for me.
Let me see....who started this NXT promo thread?
Was it me ?

Nope, it wasn't. Fact is, pretty much all of the NXT threads we've seen in the last few weeks have been started by you or C-f-A (is he still alive?)
Another fact is that NXT is not the scam you seem/pretend to think it is......just spend some time on the NXTforum, check shit out.
Most of NXT is just getting on with business, despite all the flak we get.

Anyhow, now seems like a good moment to point out that BTSX is crashing hard, and NXT is at a really tempting price right now.
I'm gonna be buying in.....think longterm, not just the next pump 'n ' dump.

So, want my advice ? Buy lots of NXT!

Now, what was the point of this thread again....<checks OP>....

Oh...drugs are being listed on an online marketplace. Yup. We're doomed.

Did C-f-A morph into the holy wizard dude? Starting to miss him.

1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NXT] Hackers 4 Hire on: August 28, 2014, 11:21:57 PM
Much love has NXT not in the hallowed halls of BTT.....but, no worries, I'll talk them around eventually.

NXT is fucking great, tbh. Lots of great features, secure, great devs, much community, amzing eco-system and projects, very decentralised.....not backed by banksters or scammers....seriously undervalued.....I'll stop now.

But the important shit here is:
I'm not the worlds biggest Spoetnik fan, but it is fucking out of order to offer a bounty to dox a guy/girl/whatever just for being an annoying prick on a forum.
Unless Spoetnik is up to any other dodgy shit........but if any one had solid evidence of Spoetnik being a bad boy, then I'm pretty sure most people would post it here in a heartbeat.
I know I would...... Grin
You got any more fan mail, S?

Now, back to defending NXT from the troll:
Bloody hell, Spoetnik. It's an ad for services on a marketplace.
This is like saying the entire internet is scammy and corrupt, because you can advertise slightly dodgy shit on it.
The ad has nothing to do with you, so move along......
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Butthurt NXT bag holders spew more dumb bullshit.. on: August 28, 2014, 11:04:08 PM
News Flash Guys.. Silk Road is BAD !

go ahead.. find out the hard way.. i fucking dare you LOL

and October shares will be coming out ? trendy douche bag scammy bullshit.

not a chance in god damn hell woudl i touch this NXT crap with YOUR bitcoin guys ahhahha

Why do you hate Silk Road bro? Just lurkin this thread but um, why so much hate towards SR? No one is trying to convince people to shop there?

what i think does not matter.. the negtive press does.

He hates NxtRoad because he has no stake in Nxt. Btw. NXTs are cheap as hell, get in and buy a house: https://nxtblocks.info/#section/dgs/details/16221827095610184056

no i don't "hate" NXT.

I don't like it because i think it was made "just because"
At the time NXT was created, it was a game changer. Might have only been 10 months ago, but NXT pioneered a lot of stuff, and spawned a lot of copies/clones.
Not to mention the IPO plague, caused by NXTs insanely successful IPO.

It's yet another coin that was made when there was already millions of them and worse it has a scammy distribution method among other issues.
NXT is/was unique.......but, yeah distribution could have been better.
But the IPO was open to everyone for almost 2 months, and anyone on BTT at the time could have got in on NXT as a stakeholder.

and your he's just jealous retort is tired and old.. come up with better material lol
Meh, it wasn't very cutting, tbh

oh and by the way since when has ANY Altcoin market place been popular ?
oh that's right.. never  Roll Eyes
All that is, is a way for so called "devs" to prop up their scam coins with dummy services.. this has been done before, and lots !

Scammy piece of shit scam coin comes out with market place and it's already going to attract FBI attention for crack and guns.
and then it gets even better.. you NXT dev douche nozzles are hopping on the "Shares" Band wagon / trend i heard in October LOL
I thought we invented the Shares bandwagon, mate. Grin

uhh what was it i was suppose to be jealous about again ?

ANGRY !~!~!! @!@@@33334
and sooooo JEALOUSSSS !!!!!!
Raaawr !!!!

Calm down, bro, lets see if we can find some nice herbs for you on the NXT marketplace......

1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silkroad on NXT Marketplace ? on: August 28, 2014, 07:16:48 PM
Or, even easier, the FBI (or any other anti-BTC agency) simply has to take control of the 4 or 5 biggest BTC mining pools.
That will give them control of more than 51% of BTCs hash power, with 4 or 5 relatively cheap arrests.

The same approach could also be used on pretty much any crypto-currency, but in NXTs case, you'll have to find and take down a lot more people to gain control of enough NXT to make a 51% attack effective.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silkroad on NXT Marketplace ? on: August 28, 2014, 12:05:39 AM
I'll wish you luck, some of the TF debate is kinda technical:

1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silkroad on NXT Marketplace ? on: August 27, 2014, 11:49:08 PM
By PoS improvement, you probably mean Transparent Forging:

https://nxtforum.org/transparent-forging/

Not all that hush-hush, really.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silkroad on NXT Marketplace ? on: August 27, 2014, 10:59:35 PM
I can't say the idea of another big hoard of FBI-seized crypto sounds like a positive step forward.

Agreed but I think this time FBI will not be able to seize. I mean even FBI cannot break crypto. Btw. crypto is the very definition of crypto currencies unlike Bitcoin where 99% of the computational effort is wasted and not used for crypto.

The only way I can see for the FBI to shut down the Nxt market place would be to buy 51% of the money supply and kill people's trust in Nxt by attacking it. I hope for Nxt's sake they don't do this.. that would be a sad day. Sad

They could try, but in order to buy up 51% of all NXT, they would have to throw a massive amount of cash at current NXT holders, much more than NXT market cap at the start of the attack.
Someone on www.nxtforum.org did the numbers on this basic form of attack , and it would cause such a price surge that it would be almost impossible.
When NXT implements Transparent Forging, btw,  the 51% vulnerability will become a 90% vulnerability, making a simple 'buy all the NXT' attack impossible.

Because NXT is open source, leaderless and decentralised, this just means that the newly rich (with Federal cash) NXT holders can simply start all over again with NXT Mark II.
The NXT technology simply can't be shut down by a central government, there is no central point to attack.
In this way, NXT is less vulnerable to a 51% attack than BTC right now: take control of the 5 biggest BTC mining pools, you'll have 60% of all BTC hash power.

Reading that story just make me think more than ever that it's all been a scam.
That story posted is NOT plausible.

Yeah, but you do seem to have the world view that almost everything is a scam, so thats not a surprise.

And i REALLY love the incessant cocky fucking smug big shot attitude from NXT guys
who all claim to have these big titles like Official NXT Lawyer.. CEO..  Roll Eyes
Who is the Chairman of the NXT clone coin board in charge of marketing and spam ?
..fire him lol

There are no titles in NXT, because NXT is a de-centralised and leaderless organisation. No CEOS, no Vice Presidents in charge of marketing....
On the other hand, no-one is gonna stop you calling yourself whatever the hell you like......do you want the positon of Extraordinary Ambassador-in-Chief to the Kingdom of NXTitania ? Its yours.
Dom P has a business outside NXT: CFA Consulting. He's the CEO. Of CFA Consulting. Not NXT.

and you guys said stuff like this..
Quote
It was obvious from the profiling we had made of the hacker that he thought he was smart and cunning.

seems to me the only information i see posted is that YOU GUYS think YOUR "smart and cunning"
nothing was posted quoting the hacker to imply that persona at all.. and that is just one aspect of numerous
where there is massive gaping holes in the story.. almost makes me wonder of the NXT community are just dumb patsies being played by BTER

You said you guys with your advanced elite skills deduced with your immense psychological powers that the hacker was (and i quote)

You mean you guessed that the guy is prob the largest demo in crypto ?
uhhhh duh ?  Roll Eyes

Dom P worked up a psych profile of the thief. Using a psychologist. Like you do, when you're chasing hard-to-find thieves.
Some of the conclusions from the psych profile are hardly surprising, like the age and sex, but stating the obvious ain't really a crime.
And, in the end, all that work paid off.

It reminds me of when i did the same thing to the guy who exploited Cryptsy on the psuedo-hack of Points on Cryptsy
and how i got him to start talking about it on Chat.. using the SAME method ..a dumb method LOL
trying to trick the bad guy into admitting his crimes and bragging is not some secret trick ..gimme a fucking break  Roll Eyes

Not the same thing, NXTs thief was more than happy to admit his crime, negotiating to get the funds back was the hard part.

This story stinks .. bad !

I just don't buy it sorry.

This has the smell of a cover up story nothing more.. and not planned out by guys very smart either.
I encourage people to read it and look for missing parts of info or to question how or why parts of it came to be.. look for the gaps of missing info.

Yep, check out very aspect. There's more than enough information, more than enough witnesses involved. The story above covers it all pretty well, IMHO, but anyone is free to check out the evidence....most of it is on the Interwebs somewhere.

I have to admit i still don't see WHY they (BTER) would do this but i have not tried to run the numbers yet..
maybe BTER made a lot of money on this i don't know.. i need to look at it closely and break it down.

I can't see BTER trying to bankrupt themselves with a move like this. The biz seems to be running well, they have no visible reason to do a GOX.

You know i could believe you guys caught a STUPID hacker but this guy would have to be the stupidest hacker in human history !
The whole story of what happened just does not seem plausible or realistic in the slightest.
You have a hacker who stole almost 2 million dollars in coins with various techniques such as "profiling" his victim online etc
and yet he is SO stupid he goes on Skype ? uhh no i don't think so LOL

Yeah i know hackers and i know some world famous hackers and the guys i know ALL 100% got away with it all and have never been caught !
REAL hackers are NOT stupid.
In order to acquire the expertise in hacking you inevitably acquire the skills to cover your tracks and protects yourself.
And what you have here is a guy who was a bad ass hacker who ripped off BTER for 2 million dollars
yet made NO EFFORT to cover his tracks and basically contacted the world with his full info..

Ummm...what info ? We haven't caught him, just got most of the NXT back.
So far, I'm not seeing a viable suspect. The guy VPN'ed in from all over the world, covering his tracks pretty well so far.

and tell me Bitcointalk.. answer this for me..
Would YOU yourself steal 2 million dollars usd from a company then make no effort to cover your tracks ?
Would you go on Skype to negotiate with the person you hacked or a 3rd party (because Lin from BTER was too stressed LOL)
ANY HACKER ON EARTH knows damn well that if you steal 2 million dollars the FBI would be knocking on Skype doors with a warrant for the private info.
So why would you do it ?
Simple it didn't happen  Cheesy
edit: or it did happen but was faked out.

I also have seen some pretty sketchy and scammy bullshit from BTER myself and and had it confirmed by MANY other guys.
They are not trust worthy.

I think they pulled a GOX.
They seen prices tanking and thought now is the time !
They wanted make sure they get rich and cash out before prices tanked too far etc.. just like good ole Mark.

A lot of idiots are going to get burned and i warned you all over and over.. what did i say ?
That guys would cash out and leave and they would rip someone off on the way out the crypto-door Wink
Don't be low hanging fruit my gullible little idiot bag holders LOL

NXT + BTER ? not a god damn chance in hell.. not getting my money that is for fucking damn sure !

Probably don't need your money, TBH, think BTER might have earned enough in the last week on BTSX.
I'm not a BTER fan, btw, but I just can't see this as a BTER conspiracy. More like a BTER fuck-up with the basics of password security.

edit:
oh and by the way how plausible is it the dev on BTER used a password that he previously used on some other site that the hacker compromised ?
2FA ? it was implemented except on THAT ONE ACCOUNT ?
Lin used the same password for almost everything, he's admitted as such. Not smart, but hopefully he (and others) will learn a lesson from this.

Do you all buy this fucking shit ? ..gimme a fucking break  Roll Eyes

Yeah, I pretty much buy all of the Dom P story...saw some of it happen myself, spoke to other people involved.
Anyhow, enjoy going over my point-for-point critique.
