1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 28, 2014, 07:31:19 PM
Great, I've let Joefox know >>>> https://nxtforum.org/nxt-whitepaper/completely-revamped-nxt-whitepaper-draft/msg72059#msg72059

But I think idea was just to represent Nxt in its current form (i.e. economic clustering isn't in yet IIRC) so gets updated with each new release.

There is no message encryption in the current version.

Coming in next release.....probably Friday.

Guys:
Just ran across this:
Hey everyone,

We have had quite a bit of interest in our Coin Representative program thus far, but we still need more participation.  At this point, we have Representatives from over 10 currencies, and some currencies actually have up to 3 representatives (which will likely be our limit).

Coin Brief's Coin Representative program is a system we are building to give members of the various digital currency communities a voice to present the positive points, advances, technical details, news, etc. about their currency of choice.  Coin Brief's staff is working to cover as many currencies as we can, with a focus on Bitcoin, but it would be impossible for us to adequately understand, explain, and write about every digital currency that exists.

If you would like to be a representative for a digital currency, and are an active member of that community, or just would like to know more about the Coin Representative program, please check out these pages:
http://coinbrief.net/coin-brief-needs-coin-reps/
http://coinbrief.net/coin-brief-coin-representatives/
http://coinbrief.net/coinreps/rules/

If anyone has any questions, or would like to apply, please contact me on here via PM or email Coin Brief at contact@coinbrief.net

Anyone who isn't me or Damelon want to check this out/sign up as NXT representative?
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: July 28, 2014, 03:32:00 PM
Nope, not yet, but smart contracts are in the pipeline.......probably be up and running on NXT before Ethereum launches.
https://nxtforum.org/smart-contracts/

And while you're there, take a look at the rest of NXTs feature set.....

IMHO: if (big if) Ethereum can deliver on everything they promise, Eth will be technically superior to NXT.
But we are a very long way from seeing any code from Ethereum, even if they can deliver.
I think this is going to work out like VHS vs Betamax: the superior tech will lose out to ease of use, market position, availability and lower entry costs......
1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: July 28, 2014, 02:35:11 PM
Hate to hijack this thread......but NXT.
Not sponsored by corporate thieves or incompetents, fully open source, up and running right now, capable of implementing pretty much anything Ethereum will be able to do.

Why throw your money at Goldman Sachs for vaporware and a promise when you could get in on a working system right now?

Sheesh, NXT has already placed 2 NXT based assets in the Coinmarketcap top 40 right now......and theres a lot more amazing stuff to come.
1205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 22, 2014, 08:51:10 PM
+1 to Twin !

Good job, mate.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What % has your investment in Alts appreciated or depreciated by? on: July 21, 2014, 09:38:04 AM
I'm about 500% up, since late Dec 2013.

What coin, or coins gave you 500% profit?

Mostly NXT....and it's still rolling on up, so I'm still hodling... Grin
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] PPC/XPM are not "alts" but class currencies, List of class currencies on: July 21, 2014, 09:35:22 AM
NXT....completely new codebase, has already spawned around 10 clone projects.

Edit:

(Grandmas thread, just saw the OP date...)
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coin do you recommend? on: July 20, 2014, 11:45:21 PM
Nxt is dirt cheap. I dumped all my btc for it. Taking my chances but I really like my chances

So do I. I cant see you losing on NXT.
This is the thing that confuses me sometimes: people who say 'Oh, noze, I missed the train on NXT'
Well, you haven't. NXT has a plan, we're here for the long term, not just a 3 week pump and dump.

Right now, NXT is 5 cents per, and I'm pretty sure that that will be up to 50 cents or maybe even a round dollar by the end of the year.
So, if you want to get rich for nothing, forget NXT, but if you want a good investment..... Cool
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What % has your investment in Alts appreciated or depreciated by? on: July 20, 2014, 11:38:40 PM
I'm about 500% up, since late Dec 2013.
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The $1000 Stake Challenge! on: July 20, 2014, 11:36:28 PM
I got the 21,000 NXT/$1000 just a couple of days before I saw this thread, and (as I'm a foaming at the mouth NXT advocate), I thought it'd be interesting/cool to see how NXT performs against your portfolio.

So, today, I'm probably in the lead, but last week I was also down to $902.....ups and downs.

And after that bombshell...just a reminder that the jl777hodl / JLH trading competition is still running on Poloniex for about 15 hours left.
5,000 NXT for the most active trader and 5,000 NXT for the most profitable trader.

Ummmm.....wtf?

I mean, its cool and all, but a bit of a surprise...anyone know anything about this?
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The $1000 Stake Challenge! on: July 20, 2014, 06:42:17 PM
And how are my 20,000 NXT doing?
Happily, having a little uptrend recently (ahem  Grin ) and each one of the little darlings is now worth 5.173 dollarcents,
according to www.coinmarketcap.com

This gives me: $0.05173 x 20,000 = $1034.6.
Sweet, 3.4% profit from my start point, and a lot better than last week.

@OP: whats the current dollar value on your portfolio?
1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JLH : the first ever crypto-asset listing on Poloniex: jl777hodl on: July 20, 2014, 01:06:49 AM
Time to give this a swift kick, just to remind people that there is also a trading contest running for this weekend:
2 prizes of 5000 NXT per person for:  the most active, and the most succesful JLH traders on Poloniex.

Beautiful boat.... I do not think I will be in the market for such a boat, not for a good few years... but that is one classy craft

Totally. It looks like something James Bond would pilot...

...in a chase, and get it blown up.

We should buy this and use it to chase down LTC im sure its fast enough  Grin
Oh, it is. I have a pair of brown trousers to prove it.....

come and buy it here:

1216  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Classic wooden powerboat: ChrisCraft Riviera 1953 on: July 19, 2014, 11:00:45 PM
Located close to Amsterdam, Netherlands:

As you can see, it's very clean and very original:

Complete with the correct Hercules KBL straight 6 engine with triple carbs.

The hull is mahogany, with around 12 coats of varnish.
Only minus point on the entire boat is that there is some cracking of the hull varnish.

The Riviera is finished with a red leather interior:

This is one of the best Rivieras available in Europe, and is in close to perfect condition.
If you're looking for a summer toy, this is it.

Price is €30,000 or nearest offer, BTC or NXT preferred.
Any questions, drop me a PM.

1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else have a feeling NXT is about to explode? on: July 19, 2014, 02:12:13 PM
Nope. he's still out...and staying out. Don't think anyone will have him, given his track record.
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 19, 2014, 02:07:20 PM
The ChrisCraft is indeed very pretty.....not mine sadly, but I have played in it.

@atoni: Yep, we did the use the word crypto-asset. Sorry, missed the headline, I'm a bit tired and lazy today,
So i'm not up for a pointless debate on who invented what first right now.

Can you give me a list of the features that NXT "copied" from Ripple ?
I'm interested, really. Maybe we can debate it a bit when it gets cooler.....
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 19, 2014, 12:09:35 PM

Poloniex good day for all cryptos on it combined doesnt even come to top20 bitcoin only exchanges Smiley And crypto assets exist for over half a decade, while virtual assets exist for almost a decade now (visit slcapex.com for example).

But more importantly, did you actually offer 10k NXT bounty to next community to artificially fake volume on poloniex (https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/price-speculation/msg66820/#msg66820), while at same time setting price 100% higher then on nxt ae and unloading it to nxt members that went for bounty....at 100% profit on arbitrage? LOL (lol is meant for faking volume, my condolences to nxt members that actually fell for that gimmick).

Thats pretty twisted, atoni. James set up a trading competition, open to all, even you. Ofc its intended as promotion for jl777hodl, but so what ?
I'm offering a 5000 NXT prize for NXT traders on www.ccedk.com up 'til the end of this month......is that also "artificially faking volume"?

The original price on Poloniex was pretty much the same as on the NXT AE, btw, and what is wrong with taking arbitrage profit?

Instead of attacking NXT, why don't you simply promote Ripple?
Promotion works a lot better than attack, as NXT has proved in the last few days.....

Someone in Spain is selling their car for NXT:

https://nxtforum.org/trading-exchanges/wtb-nxt-paying-with-a-car/

And I'm selling a boat for NXT (or BTC) !
I'll be posting the ad sometime today, but does anyone want a 1953 ChrisCraft Riviera:

It's in NL, close to Amsterdam, almost perfect original condition.
€30,000 or the NXT/BTC equivalent.

So, any whales want to go boating?
