Hah, I knew there'd be one somewhere, and it's only 5 kms from me. (Amsterdam, Zeedijk 43) http://www.generalbytes.com/I'll be at the opening for the BitCoin Embassy here in Amsterdam on Friday, so I'll have a look at the ATM....maybe get NXT listed on it. Edit: BitCoin Embassy will have their 'Grand Opening' on Friday 12/12/2014: http://bitcoinembassyamsterdam.nl/

Pity you're forgetting the main players in the 'Bitcoin 2.0' field: NXT and Counterparty. Both have real-world businesses on board right now, NXT was actually designed from the ground up to support a range of 2nd gen crypto features...... Take a look at the crypto-assets market: http://coinmarketcap.com/assets/and I'm conveniently ignoring NEM, Mastercoin and Bitshares, not to mention the legion of NXT clones.

Yes, and I have a feeling that there have been a few experiments with Altcoins on ATMs... Most BTC-capable ATMs will also be capable of hosting alt-coins. I think it's just a matter of time.

er....Ripple isn't actually a crypto-currency, guys, and so far has absolutely no 2nd gen features, so callling it Bitcoin 2.0 is , well, wrong. Ripple was designed to do one thing: act as a semi-centralised transfer/exchange system. https://ripple.com/knowledge_center/bridge-currency/

With NXT, the core NRS software is running in Java, and you are connecting to that using your browser. It's completely local, and passwords won't be cached. NXT has always been this way, so my advice is not to worry, and to upgrade to 1.3.4.

As you're going to be buying into NXT anyway, you can use the NXT-based MultiGateWay system (which is also incorporated into SuperNET) to buy and sell BTC, NXT and a handful of other alts. MGW is decentralised (almost ) and doesn't require any form of ID/KYC/AML at all. It can be fiddly to set up, but NXt'ers are a fairly helpful community if you do need some assistance. Check out: http://multigateway.org/https://nxtforum.org/nxtservices-releases/

Funnily enough, the OP is one of the few people I ever considered putting on ignore, during the great BlockNet debate of 2014......

The golden age of shitcoins is over. No way to put 3BTC in a shitcoin and cash out 10BTC the next day. I miss the times when nobody cares about broken wallets or missing devs and these coins got pumped with public money If you invest now 4BTC in a coin on bittrex you push the price 50 or 100% up and everybody is dumping on you lol. Only way to make money is to invest in serious projects. Its a game of patience now. Bigger positions are only possible on coins like XCP, NXT, Bitshares, Doge, DRK, Maidsafe and some other. +1 on most of that. Looks like the glory days of money for almost nothing are over, and we are now entering the bear market world of money for lots of hard work and solid code. We simply need to make good products, that people can actually use for something, before the rest of the world will come in to crypto.....

And heres a screenshot of the NXT posse in full effect: It was just like a real conference: lots of wandering around, found a bar, fell asleep in the Cinema....... The conference continues tomorrow, so get on over to: http://cryptomoneyexpo.com/expos/inv2/(You can log in as a guest without using FB/LinkedIn/Google, if you prefer)

Damelon has set up a NXT booth at the Crypto Money Expo: http://cryptomoneyexpo.com/expos/inv2/Which is essentially a Second Life style crypto conference, running for today and tomorrow. Check it out, give NXT some support and do some networking. Heres Damelon/Bas on the job:

Just to elaborate on my 'No' vote: I had a look at the BitBay escrow system, and my first thought was that this is simply not going to fly. I do not believe that anyone will be willing to put so much on the line in an escrow system, especially if you lose the escrow amount if a deal falls through.
The idea behind it is a good one, to establish an eco-system of trusted buyers and sellers, but getting people to make the first steps needed to build up a trustworthy rep under this system is going to be very difficult, I reckon.

I really don't see why Doge gets so much hassle.......it appears to be one of the most straight and honest crypto projects, and has certainly helped to raise awareness of crytpo among a lot of people.
People diss Doge as just being for kids/students having a laugh, but in a few years time those Doge kids will be working real jobs, making real financial decisions and they will see crypto as a perfectly normal concept and be familiar with it. Good news for everyone....

What's more funny is you failing to realize what that was really making fun of. lol
mmmm....snotkittens!

Still, thanks for the kick.....
Judging by what S just did to the Alt-coin section........I think shit is about to escalate.
