bbc.reporter, my money is just mine, and I can do with it whatever I want, throw it in the river, invest in Bitcoin or store it under a mattress. But when we look at how Bitcoin has progressed in terms of price in the first ten years of its existence, those who invested only 3-4 years ago could profit 100 to 200 times on their investment.
If I'm 50, why not risk some of the money for potentially more enjoyable retirement life, than trusting in a pension system that is in big trouble. Small pensions and an increase in working life to 67 (in the EU) with the encouragement of retirees to working after retirement, only means that people will go directly to the cemetery from work.
I do not care where you invest your money. I was talking about the articles that make it appear that retirees' investing in bitcoin is always advisable. Those articles are hyping to encourage pumping which will always certainly go on to the dumping.

@Natalim. Your bet might be good. The Rockets might not have Russel Westbrook and House, however, they might beat the -3 1st half spread only with Harden hehe.

Crazy this happened with 8 seconds left in the game. Wonder how many games Garrett will be suspended for this now. Looked like Mason Rudolph tried ripping his helmet off 1st and pissed Garrett off. He only did because Myles Garrett unnecessarily took down a quarterback, who was having a very bad performance, with a team who has already lost 21 - 7 with no chance on the last seconds of the game. There was bad intent from Garrett and using Rudolph's helmet to beat him as a reaction is assault.

@sammy007. The risk of investing in Aeon is very high because it is very illiquid. It should be listed to more big exchanges. This is not fud, this is honesty.
@estenity. Bitcoin was pumped similar to an altcoin. It was only dumped similar to an altcoin also. Anyone can speculate on the many different reasons for it, however, the dump after the pump will always occur.

It is $1.56 (+10%) right now. Wasn't this $1 not long ago? Why is the pump? Looks like bulltrap to me tbh but who knows... Maybe grin will lead the next crypto bull run. The reason of this pump can be explained with a 50 BTC donation by an anonymous Bitcoin veteran. The Bitcoins donated where moved last time in 2010. Some even speculated that it could have been Satoshi, but to be honest, the 50 Bitcoins were send from Coinbase exchange to the address in 2010 and I doubt Satoshi even used Coinbase. https://www.grin-forum.org/t/donation-to-the-grin-general-fund-nov-11/6446He was not referring to Coinbase the exchange hehehe. He was saying that the donation came from a coinbase transaction. The 50 donation came directly from one of the early generated coins by an early bitcoin miner. Charlie Lee is hyping this as a Satoshi donation hehe.

I predict that either Ethereum 2.0 will become similar to the bitcoin ETF applications, always delayed or Vitalik and his team will do what Dan Larimer and EOS did, pay the settlement fee to the SEC hehehe. Heath Tarbert, chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, sounded out a warning yesterday over the potential for staked tokens (i.e. the coins that support proof-of-stake blockchain networks) to be classified as securities.
And while the CFTC head has previously said that Ethereum, in its current state, is likely not a security and should be classified as a commodity, things are less clear for the next iteration of Ethereum.Read in full https://decrypt.co/11432/ethereum-2-0-tokens-could-be-securities-warns-cftc-chairman

@Lucius. Agreed. However, the way articles are written on the topic of bitcoin used to hold retirement funds makes it appear that holding bitcoin is good and advisable. Those retirees might only be gambling with their savings for that one last try.

@gabmen. It would be something to be excited on if Doc Rivers will have Kahwi load management Leonard together with Paul George on the court. Let us wait for injury updates hehehe.

The Steelers are better in defense than the Bills. Why are the sportsbooks giving -3.00 favoring the Browns again versus the Steelers?
This game should be on the poll hehe.

It might only be a gold rush to the manufacturers of the Asic hardware themselves because money collected from their IPO will signify expansion of the business hehe.
Don't forget the investors owning the stock. It's something we have seen happen with Gold stocks (stocks of companies mining Gold) as well. It's like a leveraged product tied to the price performance of the asset, which tends to exaggerate moves in both up and down directions. Gold believers tend to allocate most of their capital to Gold stocks, and so does Peter Schiff. Bitmain is super dependent on what Bitcoin's price does, which means that you can expect their stock to react to that quite perfectly on trading days. It will create plenty of new arbitrage opportunities for traders. It might even bring new traders to spot exchanges trying to exploit these arbitrage opportunities, and that translates into more liquidity. I'm however not sure about Bitmain's coin balance as they are so heavily invested in bcash. It might turn out to work against them yet again. We'll see. Also do not forget that everything does not depend on bitcoin. The risk of owning a stock would also depend on how well the Asic manufacturer's performance is as a company.

I reckon that they might also be using bitcoin as a speculative one last try on becoming multimillionaires and live without financial worries.

@Bttzed03. I speculate that spamming attacks on another blockchain will be necessary if holders of the attacking platform's token want their platform to go up in rank on coinmarketcap.com hehehe.
It will also be necessary to spam attack other blockchains to defend their position in ranking.

Nick Diaz might fight again. However, is this only Nick and Nate's plan to make more money out of a losing situation? I reckon the Diaz brothers are using their popularity in the sport only to get the money. They might have lost their passion for mixed martial arts. While Nick Diaz said he was “absolutely not” interested in resuming his fighting career, he may make an exception for Jorge Masvidal.
Earlier this month, Masvidal collided with Nick’s younger brother Nate. “Gamebred” scored a third-round TKO win via doctor’s stoppage. Nick was none too pleased with Masvidal saying that he wanted to “baptize” Nate.
Diaz dropped hints of wanting to fight Masvidal in AT&T Stadium. Helwani reached out to Diaz’s team, who confirmed that that’s the one fight Nick wants for spring 2020.Read in full https://www.mmanews.com/nick-diaz-not-happy-with-jorge-masvidal-saying-he-wanted-to-baptize-nate/

Yeah, they had to ruin it: However, this feature also makes Bitcoin widely used in illegal transactions such as money laundering. Currently, the most important uses of bitcoin payments are black market transactions and "dark net" transactions. a question of perspective IMO. There's "illegal" and then there's "immoral". There are many forms of legal transactions that many people would consider immoral, and there are many illegal transactions that many would consider moral. Of course governments must express disapproval; plenty of others hold the opposite opinion, i.e. government sycophants and their corporate cohorts (arguably not much difference between these categories, anyone who's a perennial loser in the corporate rat-race will maintain loyalty out of greed and a lack of courage) It's easy to underestimate this story IMO, Xinhua is the media outlet closest to the Chinese Communist Party. When all's said and done, the "black" (i.e. "free") market is a boon to government insiders, as they know they can ratchet up prices to many multiples of the profits in the market for legalized goods. Sure, marijuana might be getting the government soft-touch all over the world these days, but there's never going to be enough public support for legalizing meth or child pimping to be able to use your bank account for that kind of trade. But demand will always be there for all kinds of unsavory stuff, and who better to conduct it than those very very bad apples who are nothing like the rest of the government The tagline: For bleached chicken meat or self-destruct pension plans, there's fiat. For everything else, there's BitcoinTMAlso, bitcoin for illegal transactions is a form of power. It attracted many people to buy and hold bitcoin before 2017, I reckon it will certainly attract many Chinese people again. Xinhua might be marketing for bitcoin without knowing it hehehe.

What is good for bitcoin is also good for the whole cryptospace. I am happy to see that bitcoin is recognized by Xihua press as a success. However, the skeptical me is asking what is the government controlled news agency's agenda for reporting this? Why today? The Chinese authorities have always been against bitcoin. Image from coinroroChinese state news agency Xinhua has published a front-page article on bitcoin, the flagship cryptocurrency, presenting it as blockchain technology’s first successful application.
In its article, Xinhua details how bitcoin works and goes in-depth into how public and private keys differ, how new cryptocurrency enters the market, and even touches the halving event. Xinhua points out BTC has a pseudo-anonymous nature, but falsely claims it main use case are darknet market transactions.Read in full https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2019/11/bitcoin-presented-as-first-successful-application-of-blockchain-to-1-4-billion-people/

News update. There are scammers and hackers have begun attacking Bitmex users from the leaked emails through phishing attacks. It now looks like scammers are taking advantage of the readily available, and obviously crypto-literate, BitMEX users’ details. A Reddit user reported an example of a scam supposedly associated with the leak. The user claims to have received a message claiming to be from Blockchain.com. It asks that the potential victim follow a link to receive a payment. However, the link reportedly directs to the site blockchainain.com, and download malware.Source https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/11/11/bitmex-crypto-traders-targeted-by-phishing-scams-what-the-attacks-look-like/

A block producer was quoted in the article telling everyone over Telegram that EIDOS is a token sparse on information. That might be because EIDOS is an attack on EOS to slow it down and prove that it is not scalable. However, who would create the attack? Developers from another platform? Holders of Ethereum? In any case, I speculate that this is the beginning of the blockchain wars hehehe. EOS has been clogged up by a giant airdrop for a token called EIDOS – and it’s not clear the token is even good for anything.
In fact, it seems as though the people behind the token are trying to make a point. The token seizing up the network is called EIDOS. Its promoted by a Twitter account, @enumivo, whose website only describes the token generation, not its purpose. However, its tweets appear to express discontent with the block producers running the EOS blockchain today.
The smart contract for went live on Oct. 31 and is designed to encourage maximum transactions. The size doesn’t matter. This has caused EOS to go into congestion mode, which Coinbase described on its blog as limiting “the amount of transactions a user can broadcast to their pro-rata share of total staked CPU resources on the EOS network.”
In other words, EOS usually provides a little give when it has excess capacity (and it usually does), but that’s all been maxed out due to the demand spurred by the EIDOS smart contract.
“It’s a token that is pretty sparse on information, but then again that’s nothing unusual in crypto,” Aaron Cox of Greymass, a block producer candidate, explained to CoinDesk over Telegram.Read in full https://www.coindesk.com/a-mysterious-airdrop-called-eidos-is-clogging-eos-to-make-a-point
